Yes, that's the way I read it. They can sterilize with a lower level of CO2, but tried the higher concentration to see how quickly they could sterilize.

They've already cut the time down from weeks to days, so I imagine that they were seeing just how quickly they could accomplish sterilization - fastest route to sterilize without hindering the system. Seems as though they found out.

They're writing the manuals for this as we speak - all the gloom and doom people have been posting seems to be what the clear heads have been saying for weeks.
