Lol, what? The email? I actually have a total of 6 of them since Sunday afternoon. Hahah.
I agree. This was in my inbox Sunday:
CNNMoney Calls Netflix "A Bandwidth Hog Clogging Up the Internet"
If Netflix is the company killing the internet…could Raystream be the company that saves it? According to CNNMoney, "The explosion of online video — especially the movie-length content Netflix spotlights — isn't an easy problem to fix.
The amount of video watched online has nearly doubled in a year, to 15.1 hours per user per month.
"It costs increasingly more to host and serve that content, and to build the infrastructure for the bandwidth that allows users to download it."
The soaring popularity of streaming and on-demand video make them the most visible aspect of the bandwidth crunch. Currently, real-time entertainment applications consume 49.2% of peak traffic, up from 29.5% in 2009 — a number that's projected to reach 55-60% by the end of 2011.
In the U.S. alone, more than 5 billion online videos are viewed every month.
Netflix is the 800-pound gorilla in the space, with 23.6 million subscribers who watched 300 million streams of movies and TV shows in 2010 — and consuming 29.7% of North American bandwidth at peak times.
But the Netflix phenomenon also is a very clear example of growing too fast. Their Wall Street valuation has soared from an IPO price of $15 to as high as $301.50.
Unfortunately, the quality of their offerings simply hasn't kept pace, leading the Motley Fool to comment, "Netflix faces a big risk of becoming a victim of its own success… Netflix's streaming service itself has gotten progressively worse… from good to bad, and from bad to horrible." During peak times, consumers suffer through stutters and pauses from buffering as well as highly publicized outages that last hours at a time.
The problem, industry executives and analysts say, is that a high-definition movie requires many times the data of an e-mail or a Web page, the kinds of content the internet was built to transmit.
From a business perspective, the underlying problem is this: Customers may not mind low-quality videos when they're free, but you can be sure they'll demand the highest possible quality when they're paying for the privilege.
Raystream has the potential to save Netflix from disaster, or even outright collapse — decreasing their costs dramatically by cutting bandwidth by as much as nine-tenths. If their current transmission cost of a feature-length movie is about 10 cents…
…using Raystream could dramatically cut those costs while delivering their product more effectively, with savings in the tens of millions annually.
And the side benefit, naturally, is that a superior user experience will result in even more consumer demand.
In fact, Netflix is already anticipating that technology will rescue them. CEO Reed Hastings says, “If there’s anything you want to bet on, it’s that technology will make bandwidth faster and cheaper.”
Which is precisely what Raystream does.
Most important, it's a technology that promises an impact far beyond Netflix — every single company that delivers online video could instantly decrease their costs…and increase their profits by using Raystream's pioneering technology.
Someone compared this to LEXG so I had to look at that chart again... Damn. I still can't believe buys were coming in at over $10.00!
I hope and pray that RAYS doesn't do the same thing.
GLTA
Looks like you were right...
How do we know David left the company? Who said that?
Yea, that sucks. What a waste indeed. However, I'm sure it can be argued that every stock is promoted in some way. People get shares for all kinds of services... Then everyone wants to sell them. Happens on every stock and I guess SFOR isn't exempt from the rules. Oh well, on to the next one for me.
What proof do you have hermsaj1. I'm curious. I got a bunch of e-mails over the weekend and there were no shares in the disclaimers.
Stock up 38%.
What about some of the other C level guys? Are they big sellers too?
I'm excited to see what the trading this week will look like minus the "D".
Lol. No prob.
1 was a spam, 1 was from thebullreport.com and 1 was a fwd from a bud of mine. However, after reading how all the Ihubbers hate this company, I'm guessing it's gonna be a real crappy trading day.
There is a promo about to happen. I got 3 emails today. I'm not a shareholder nor will I buy but I think it will be an interesting day tomorrow.
GLTA
Very nice day for AMBS. Who knew news about Gerald would be so powerful. Hey Gerald, say something else on Monday, I like this... I like this alot!
The "D" is gone and news next week would be nice!
Good points Josh. I agree with you 75%. The 25 that is not in agreement is that Carl is failing. There is much for a CEO to do other than worrying about share price/liquidity. The main goal should be following through with the biz plan and who are we to say that is not happening. We will never know what is going on before it's made public so why speculate that Carl isn't doing a good job?
However, if someone is simply in the stock to make a buck then who cares what Carl does or doesn't do? Money to be made in any market if you're a REAL trader... IMHO
Yeeeeeeeah Buddy!!!!!!
No .003's? Looks better each day!
We just need to get over this hump... and back to pennyland? Wouldn't that be a nice early Christmas gift from the pennystock Gods...
Solid point Josh. I think if we lessen or even completely remove our big expectations for these penny stocks, we'd all do and be much better.
I'm saying... Really, who cares? Most of these microcaps are junk and we just wait for a decent promo to take us out of our position. I really wish Ihubbers would stop lying to themselves and everyone else... Just admit it. You buy, you want to get out at a higher price in the short term because long term is a joke at this level. Am I right or am I right?
Meanwhile, every board on this whole site has people screaming fraud, pumper, ceo and his cronies are all crooks, blah blah blah. But the real is exactly what we all know: we buy and hope to turn a profit quickly so we have cash to repeat the process. Whatever business the company says their in is what we use to justify the purchase of shares. We lie to ourselves first... Then we try to back up our bad decisions by placing the blame on everyone else. Its laughable for sure and by no means am I exempt from this BS cycle.
Again, its official, the lunatics have taken over the Titantic.
I hope so. It just looks so damn good to me. I'm pumped!
Well, regardless of the crazies on this board, I'm sticking around. I like the company a lot.
I'm very excited for SKGP. The stock and the company appear to have a bright future!
GLTA
What would it take for all the negative VSPC posters to actualy like this stock?
Yeah Buddy! $250,000 promo! I have a feeling it's still going backwards though. Maybe a big volume day... idk. Pumps just aren't the same anymore. LMAO.
Lmao! Funny post but in Carls defense, he has been traveling pretty consistently trying to bring in business. Good things take time...
GLTA
Well, it's official: the lunatics have taken over the Titanic.
Save yourselves!!
That's really bullish of you thestockprophet... Now where is your disclaimer?
Easy does it...
Sigh... You're right. Ever feel like NITE makes their own rules at times?
Dear market maker NITE,
Please don't spank us today.
Thanks,
Dedicated SKGP Trader
L2 LOOKS LIKE AN UPTICK IS ON THE WAY!!!!! GO GO GO!
Clearly, many of you have done some amazing DD on VSPC but can you direct it more toward helping others do their research?
TIA
I think you guys should stop bickering.
About time someone noticed! Hahaha
I hope it does reach pennyland and beyond.
I've talked with Richard before... He is uber passionate about the company.
And yeah, I said uber...
L2 looks tight pre market...
Just like always... IN COMES MM NITE.
True indeed. The acqusition is a great thing too. Everyday someone is missing and someone is found. What Paragon is doing isn't new technology but it's a great addition to what SKGP already has going on for them.
http://paragongps.com/devices.html I think kids would love to wear these. It resembles those fitness bracelets you see a lot of athletes wearing.
Up 100% on 1.5m shares. I like the way you move... (Said in my Outkast voice)
Oh man this is shaping up nicely! Penny land???
