Well that certainly makes more sense than them issueng a PR actually saying ... I dunno... that they're bought out...LOL....
Well if it was fake, then why didn't Atrinsic immediately announce that after getting bombarded with emails/phone calls? No denial of PR this morning either.
Well it obviously was a paid pump and most likely the reason for the jump to 0.11. But did those paying for it know the 'news' that was coming out Friday giving them an opp to cash out on the pump and then double their money on the later dump?
The only way that would happen is if ATRN put out a PR saying thae release was fake.
I'd bet the bounce at EOD was short covering. Some pennystock stock outfit put out that fake story about Facebook buying ATRN stock. Most likely a paid pump. What you saw Friday was prob the same pumpers shorting it then covering before the later news.
Typical adventures in pennystock land even though most here don't want to beleive ATRN lives there.
Penny stocks sights like that don't put out those type of articles unless they're being paid to promote it. They probably emailed that out before hand and that prob caused the PPS jump the other day (not that silly idea it was the 'news is coming' post here that you should be embarrased if you actually thought it was responsibile for moving the stock).
What's interesting is that there could have been a paid pump right before putting that PR out to crash the stock ... but that's life in pennyland (something most here still refuse to believe ATRN is a part of)
You may not at all. The question is - will it matter to the PPS today?
There's no way this volume is due to his post.
If real news is indeed coming out this pop would've come tomorrow if not today. More likely 'smart money' already know news is coming and started positions.
maybe their lawyer told them to say something relatively meaningless as ammunition in the future in case the suit goes forward.
That Fong left. Probably will make reference to the move. For the sake of the stock, it better be more than just that.
If a firm plans on making it into a class action (the only option here that makes sense), then they'll get paid based on a % of the overall damages they recover. In that case they're not working on an hourly basis to be paid by some individual.
Thanks for clearing that up.
I'm not involved in this (I'm here for the great entertainment value that the endless pumps of buyouts/mergers provide) but that share count prob has nothing to do with the case. A lawyer would accept the case based on whether the claims had enough merit that he could secure damages and get his cut from it.
I thought the share count was for 2 reasons:
1) to see if you could join force & own over 50% of the company
2) to see if you had over 300 people to force them to come out of the dark
The 1st issue has no bearing on any suit.
The 2nd requires all of you to get your shares out of street name. If you don't do that then that info means nothing.
I'd think he must have sold some portion of his stock already or he wouldn't have any damages to recover. I'd still imagine any lawyer would want to make it a class action to up the total damages
I think you need to have lost money on ATRN to be part of any class action suit (if it becomes a class action suit)
Having a lawyer telling you not to discuss the matter with anyone is standard practice and has no bearing on anything or anyone else. It has nothing to do with ATRN being dark itself. I would imagine that if a lawyer takes the case and also handles that 'inspecting the books' issue then you're not going to hear a word about it until that case is resolved.
Somehow I figured you wouldn't address the actual issue.
Can't help you if you can't figure it out from the post.
Since that post dampens the hope of the immediate debt payoff scenario, it's not surprising that it went unreplied.
They could be anything - which is why you can't claim any number as factual.
You want to use a number for current purposes - then prove it's valid as of now.
Now that they're refused to release current earnings, you quoting old numbers that can't be relied on as accurate
Don't spoil his fantasy.
They already said it.
They need to save money. Sometimes it's that simple. But I'm sure you can understand people wanting to believe something else - especially when they have money on the line.
<And we know they've lost at least one customer because of this board.
They made the decision to go dark. It's their job to anticipate all reactions from that.
Any consequences from their decision is their fault - no one elses.
<Where is your proof of any dilution??
I bet it's locked in a box along with the proof that this new hire is proof they're getting bought out....
<Or maybe, His Company is Buying ATRN...JMO
So he quit his company to work for ATRN so his old company can buy them...that makes sense.....
<You can talk it down all you want, show me something that proves the FB scenario isn't possible or unlikely.
Got it - make up a claim and then prove it by saying you can't disprove it.
It's amazing how ,if you repeat something enough, people come up with all sorts of ways to make it 'true'.
Here's one site with short interest
http://shortsqueeze.com/?symbol=atrn&submit=Short+Quote%99
The same way he sold out of MSLP the day after initiating it for no gain, then later posted on his website that they were in for a full ride on the stock.
There was another (SNPK maybe) where he posted on his Ihub board that he got out for a big loss and advised all his 'clients' to get out also when it had a huge intraday fall. Naturally later on his board he tries to claim a full profit on it.
And of course the whole frontloading ISML scam
Everyone has agendas.
Would it surprise you that some could post anonymously on a public msg board with an agenda to protect the stock/company and would therefore challenge any negative light shone on the company - even when the posts aren't directed towards them,
< find it very hard to believe that going dark was the result of any 'deal',
and float ideas to distract one from actions the company takes - say by pushing the buyout/merger idea ....
You can't prove anything when they don't report financials.
Not that this is going to stop people from posting old reported rev figures when they try to pump the company or executive comments about future increased revs. All meaningless w/o actual earnings.
< That there seem to be people at ihub that had deliberately pumped up their stock so that it would be the thing that would let us all retire for life - the look on his face at that comment was like - he would like to comment but can not.
Understatement of the year.
Interesting.
Certainly sounds like a company looking to move to explicitly save expenses (like the stated reason for going dark) and not beacuse of silly buyout/merger rumors posted incessantly on message boards
well there's no news this morning (as of now)
If none comes by, say Monday's open, would you be more inclined to think this was just a technical bounce - maybe someone(s) betting on news coming out when earnings were scheduled for (had they not gone dark)?
Not that anyone's reading this, but Ka-Ching!!
Like I said, an ATM machine. Lots track of how many trips Ive banked in the last several weeks on this . But with earnings & the crop report coming up, this pattern may end for a while.
Yeah not to mention he opened posted that he lost a ton on the stock when it had that huge drop and vowed to never play it again and advised all his members to avoid it.
Dead board - but anyway - back in for the umpteenth time. Stock is an ATM - sell in the upper $180's & re-buy ~ $180
Oh I've caught onto it before - just don't have the need to play boardcop all the time. All these penny newsletters etc are good for info & things to think about, but none of them are out for my benefit. As long as people keep that in mind then they should be alright.
Speaking of reputation
You see how the MR website touts MSLP as one of their big winners? What they neglect to say is that they sent out an email closing the pick a day or two after initiating it (for basically no gain). Much later he made an individual post saying he was back in - at a price near the high it reached. Funny how that info isn't listed when they tout the pick....
