jakes_dad...none of this concerns kantblevit.
IDENTITY THEFT is no biggie for him.
what a joke the whole Paypal/Ebay thing is.
a complete farce.
Donald...I wouldn't do one thing w/ Paypal.
unless, of course, IDENTITY THEFT doesn't concern you.
sheesh....
kantblevit...just two words to you, buddy!
Oh Brother.....
50mil_in_05...You are pretty much on the mark!
Wave Sys. is doing OK. I think that there will be some positive developments in this sphere.
In a nutshell, the company has the right stuff.
and so it goes.
kant...I know you can trade in an IRA.
but I don't think 99% of investors out there would want to trade in a retirement account. 99% of the investing public use the IRA for more conservative long term oriented funds.
remember that an IRA is a tax deferred account. One must pay taxes eventually. It is not a tax free account.
Nope...the trading IRA is not a very appropriate choice.
IMHO...
LD the IRA idea is not really practical.
maybe you have a 'trading IRA' but most people don't use their IRA for trading. IRAs are mostly used for retirement funds and thereby more conservative in nature.
one has to pay transaction costs...there is no free lunch there despite your proclamations.
nah...i don't think your explanations are realistic. You are just groping for answers to those realities that make your trading argument rather inappropriate to 99% of the investing public.
nice try though...
go-kitesurf. Very very good Post! this is WHY......
i believe you will see Wave Sys. gain a major public sector contract of some type in the very near future.
when this happens i think you will see Wave Sys. on the investor's major league radar screen...so to speak.
and so it goes.
IMHO Wave Sys gets a major public sector job w/in
6 months. This could put us on the radar.
again, just a hunch.
Snackman when I company leaves the startup phase
most investors have a difficult time comprehending the dynamic. This is because most startups never leave that socalled phase.
One must not blame those who have difficulty understanding this socalled 'phase shift'.
Frankly, if this were not the case, then 'investing' would be a child's game.
And, both of us know, that investing is indeed NOT a child's game.
and so it goes.
Enough said for today. I will have further thoughts for all at a later stage.
tally ho
the Question(s) becomes........
how quickly does the revenue stream cascade and how quickly will the general public become aware of this dynamic?
this is the progression investors (here) must grapple with.
Personally, I have grappled with it and it is quite interesting, to say the least.
and so it goes.
hj..how did u not know that?
just curious.
Wow..I must say good timing on my part.
Just good ole dumb luck.
tally ho
hj...i don't think there is another company
out there that offers what Wave Sys offers.
Took alot of work and capital to get to that point but
IT IS WHAT IT IS.
and so it goes.
skeptics are suddenly stunned & quiet.
Hmmmm...i wonder why?
and so it goes.
kant And do the COMPLETE job like Wave Systems?
the answer is NO.
oh brother...
this has to be a joke, right?
Snackman....you are too nice.
do ya think unix will give you true replies?
if ya do, then more power to ya.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
me thinks 2005 could be quite interestin'!
stick around!!!!!!
ho ho ho
whitewash...when i say public i mean.....
the PUBLIC SECTOR as in the GOVERNMENT.
HOMELAND SECURITY..
Los Alamos Natl Labs...Livermore...CIA....NSA.....
FBI.....Sandia....DIA....etc etc etc etc...
these people are lookin' at Wave Systems and vice versa.
there is alot of reciprocal "need" goin' on...
pls understand this...and THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
whitewash..I agree with you.
I still think, however, a CONCRETE (black&white) public sector contract will come out "first" and then it pretty much goes
BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM!!!!!!!!!
thereafter.
I like the public sector for Wave Systems. It is a great fit and has alot of potential.
just a hunch...
Weby I like your style.
You are so so right it is scary.
ramsey2..I agree with your post entirely.
time will tell.
allshore There is a guy over at TecSec...
named Scheidt who thinks Wave Systems is a leader.
check it out.
Scheidt carries alot of credibility in govt circles.
IMHO
awk...I think the most important Wave play
would be to secure the computer network systems of organizations like Los Alamos Natl Labs or Sandia or organizations similar in nature.
The govt realizes that they MUST do this right now. However, they need to do it right and they will (IMHO)pick Wave tech as part of that process.
The ripple effect could be quite enormous.
For this reason I think that.............
the first major contract will be in the public domain. The government has specific and urgent needs (related to national security/anti terrorism)that are different than the consumer sector.
Wave Systems will score its first meaningful contract in the national security arena.
IMHO.....
good stuff because it is BIG BUCKS and high visibility.
Snackman, I agree with you. And moreover.......
me thinks that some of those who ask questions repeatedly (despite having the info readily at their disposal) are just trying to generate doubt and confusion and skepticism.
Hey, I think that it is MISSION ACCOMPLISHED as far as technical DD goes.
Now it is a matter of business development execution (e.g. sales)and followup. It is always HARDEST to score the first BIG CONTRACT. But, once the proverbial ice is broken, then I think what you will see is a very steady and acclerated progression of business development.
so it goes.....
vader I wonder what could cause that?
ho ho ho Merry Christmas
hamster...just a hunch but i agree.
Couldn't be merrier...
Doma&Others...I really applaud all your DD!!
It is really amazing. Well done.
Candidly speaking, I think that all of you can pretty much say
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
The only thing left is for formal announcements and REVENUES/PROFITS.
Which will be first? A public sector mega contract? Or a private sector?
What kind of contract(s) will it be? Will the private sector gorilla contract be with just one gorilla or in concert with two or three?
When will it happen? This week? Next month? Or six months?
Where will it come from? Euroland first? Or here at home?
Ya see......none of us know the answers to any of these questions. We can only guess.
BUT WE DO KNOW ONE THING.
Wave Systems has the ONLY system that meets ALL the key requirements for a true standard.
And Wave Systems is the only enterprise that is not going to make any of the gorillas nervous by endorsing its paradigm. So, ya see....sometimes it is very beneficial to be small! Kinda ironic, isn't it?
I have very little doubt that Wave Systems will prove to be a very interesting and profitable investment to those who are long term oriented.
The timeline is very short now, IMHO.
we shall see.
good night everyone.
Gotta run.
geez...the next year is gonna be fun.
ha ha ha ha......
tco...Irwin Jacobs vs. IDC?
come on. gimme a break. IDC is a patent holding company with no gonads to make a REAL company outta their 'technology portfolio'.
Conversly, QCOM is a technology GIANT who is not afraid to make their technology work for the global consumer.
there really is no comparison.
Back in the early 90's, however, alot of investors were skeptical of QCOM....just like they are skeptical of WAVE SYSTEMS.
In a weird way, fear and doubt can work in your advantage as an investor if you can deal with it.
Do ya know what i mean?
Personally, I want to see fear/doubt on the part of the investing public until the fifth or sixth inning........
then i want enthusiasm.
We are just about there........IMHO.
so it goes.
Snackman, where have I been?
I have been a right tackle on the Redskins offensive line getting banged up in a BIG ole WAY!!!
But the last year or so has been GREAT!!!!
And I have been deleted by poster gods like yourself in the meantime!!!!!!
The last three years (or so) have been rough. I have been directly involved with 9/11 and it has been hectic.
But, I can say that things are looking UP! I don't need to go into specifics but I can tell ya that we are in much better shape than five or so years ago...if ya know what i mean.
NOW....the situation with WAVE SYSTEMS is very complex. There are alot of big guv types that are gung ho about WAVE SYSTEMS. But...we have inertia to deal with. We have alot of big players (like DELL,IBM,HP etc etc) who are very sensitive about the situation. So.....we gotta play this thing along 'party lines'...if ya know what i mean. Everybody has gotta feel good about it.
Right?
Sheesh....
WAVE SYSTEMS IS A STARTUP INVESTMENT.
period.
if ya cannot deal with that, then get outta dodge.
simple as that.
Snackman... I have no problem with this.
And you can banish me once again pursuant to this post.
I am the 'sorosman'. AND....if you go back to the archives of this great story, I AM THE ONE WHO ORIGINALLY EQUATED WAVE SYSTEMS TO QUALCOMM. There is no denying this. This is because I am one of the early investors in QCOM. I bought the stock back in the very early 90's. I knew Irwin Jacobs and I believed in where he was going with the whole CDMA dynamic.
I understood CDMA before any of the Wall St analysts did...and so it goes.
And now the whole thing repeats again with WAVE SYSTEMS.
Snackman, Don't you coopt the QUALCOMM analogy with me!!! I was the one who originated that analogy on RB many years ago.
I am the one who knows where WAVE SYSTEMS will go and how it will dominate its own unique space in the digital universe.
You are a good man, Snackman. But I suggest that you are not the 'sole spirit' when it comes to understanding what this business opportunity (WAVX) is all about.
SO....I respectfully ask you....BACK OFF.
do not think that you are the only entity that understands what is about to transpire.
JUST BACK OFF AND TAKE A CHILL PILL...if ya know what i mean.
so it goes...
The Best Advice to All is Right Here!
If you wanna invest in a STARTUP Company with AMAZING potential,
then invest a little money in Wave Systems.
If you wanna invest in a 'Safer' Tech Play, then buy a mainstream company like a SunMicroSystems or something like that...
Ya know what I mean.
I was the first Poster to equate Wave Systems to a Qualcomm! This goes back about 5 or so years ago!
I know that this company will SUCCEED!!!!
Many of you on this board know implicitly who I am.
Snackman and I go back to the very beginning of this dynamic.
BUT.....I know that most of YOU KNOW that I am the one that the situation here is of MONSTROUS proportions.
this IS a startup situation. If investors cannot deal with that dynamic, then they should get outta the "kitchen".
For those of you who can deal with the "HEAT", then I think you will be very richly rewarded..
and so it goes....
C_M....I dunno but when Scheidt says JUMP
then i gotta listen!
sheesh....
too too funny.
but ya know....what the heck do i know anyway????
ha ha ha ha....
zeev, there are 15,000 stocks out there.
why are you fixated on Wave Systems?
very peculiar. and also, very BULLISH...IMHO!!!!
HA HA HA HA HA........
Weby. On another note, I have a hunch that
Wave Systems is gonna nail down a couple of very significant public sector deals next year.
Just a hunch.....
IMHO.
Ed Scheidt is the guru at TecSec.
he is like a Kravitz. A bigwig in the guv sector.
Combine him with the Dell connection and it seems to me that Wave is gonna grab some good guv biz.
OT: Snackman, I don't particularly appreciate your disposition when it comes to my input here. So pls take it easy. thank you in advance
OK thnx. Will do. Let's see if it works.
thnx
Hi Weby. You are right. As always, only....
time will tell. The Chief Scientist over at Tec Sec is one impressive dude. Kravitz like...if ya know what I mean.
the naysayers have their 'say' today because Wave is a startup. There is no denying that reality.
When Wave moves on to the next stage, we will see what the naysayers will come up with in terms of a critique. We will also be able to discern their agenda more clearly.
So it goes....
