Andrei Arlovski Still Motivated To Compete, Refusing To Retire
By Charttopper on August 19, 2011 in MMA Media News, Video
Very Cool Again! A very well connected great guy to have on your side!
Don forget this is also the CEO of Dubai Pro Sports & Entertainment, a live entertainment company headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Who also had a previous agreement with Stratus which includes "Dubai Pro Sports & Entertainment will also organize international mixed martial arts matches in conjunction with Stratus Media Group within select countries."
"The partnership agreement with Dubai Pro Sports will enable our organization to expand its geographic presence and capitalize on the growth opportunities we envision within the Middle East. Dubai Pro Sports & Entertainment shares our enthusiasm for live entertainment events and possesses the passion, teamwork, leadership values to achieve success. We are delighted to partner with Dubai Pro Sports and look forward to announcing exciting future events"
This is looking better all the time!
Go ProElite!
Very Cool! But doesn't surprise me at all and ProElite is the only "Real" Player in the group!
Bellator has a good product but very niche only catering to and attracting a certain market segment at this point and Spike will have to complete with Bellator 's current Deal with MTV2 which I am sure Bellator is going to ask to really make it worth their while and Spike has to question what exactly am I getting ?
The UFC has essentially stripped whatever there was from either Strikeforce and WEC and is in the midst of taking anything left that it feels is of any major value. Ultimately the UFC is not going to give Spike anything that will allow them to compete with anything more then they already have which is primarily it's own footage from the Broadcast Rights from Station Broadcast of it own programs wile partnered with the UFC. Everybody else is small potato's and could not make happen to date so you and Spike have to question what can they do for us ?
ProElite has a history of making it happen, is already garnering great attention and at this point is gaining momentum with it's own show and Production underway as well as is already talking with and negotiating with other potential would be partners!
If your Spike and you don't have the UFC, maybe aren't interested enough to do a deal with Bellator for alot of reasons and have ProElite staring at you across the room as would be Major Competition if don't do deal them! What would you do and what is really your best option? Seems clear to me!
Go ProElite!
It's all a façade! Lol! It's definitely FOX wanting to feel UFC or should I say really MMA hip and Cool as well as looking to target a huge and growing market and yes feeling they also need to look and act the part. Yep! For Sure!
Come on Joe Rogan "attempting to read from a script"! Joe Rogan in a Suit! Gladiator Man Gone!. UFC Intro gone! Josh Gross and Loretta Hunt included in a Press Conference! "Everything about UFC's production will change". Gus Johnson will be joining the Broadcast Team with Pre and Post shows along with others.
I think it's all going to go down different at the end of the day and don't think for second FOX is not send the message to the UFC, I own you and here's what I think! Is it a bad thing! Nope! I don't think so! It is what is and good for the sport overall! Yes!
I just like busting on the UFC because of their ongoing crap on what others have done or who things would be different in their world. No sure so who's the B##ch now ? Lol! But I bet the opinions would vary dependent on who you ask, the UFC or FOX! But anyone thinking their not both thinking it's the other guy while their all singing Kumbaya in harmony and the changes are already underway! LOL!
Not so sure it's really that different! Off the get go it doesn't appear to be so and I would expect we can all expect more changes, again not bad thing but interesting to say the least!
I agree FOX is definitely buying their way in and there is something to be said for that and I agree as well it is good for the sport for sure! And GREAT for US! Absolutely!!!
Go ProElite!
Talking to the animals! No way, Well maybe a Horse or two! LOL!
I thought it was pretty funny but you got a admit the UFC always talking $hit about everyone else and what the "Networks" make them do and how they would never do that well although the article is pushing the limits of any reality with the whole cross-promotion thing, I think Fox is gonna make em dance. Hey they already had or let Chuck Liddell go Dancing With The Stars already! Lol! And don't get me wrong I still think Chuck is cool even if he is and always has been UFC company man and the guy still is a legend but come on I don't want to see him Dance, I wanna see him knock people out! I guess those days are over! Too Bad!
UFC on Fox: You want cross-promotion? We’ve got cross-promotion
By Maggie Hendricks

UFC on Fox: You want cross-promotion? We’ve got cross-promotionThe UFC announced their seven-year deal with Fox today, promising plenty of cross-promotion between existing Fox entities and the UFC. To help out the network and the promotion, Cagewriter has a few ideas:
A "Glee"/"The Ultimate Fighter" crossover episode -- The fighters have to put together a song and dance to get New Directions to regionals. Rachel Berry and Quinn Fabray finally solve their difference in the Octagon. Dana White and Mr. Schu smile and nod a ton. How could this go wrong?
Put the "American Idol" spin on "The Ultimate Fighter" -- Televise the tryouts, and have a panel either over-praise or break the hearts of every contestant.
"The Family Guy" goes to a UFC show -- Peter Griffin and his buddies head to catch some fights that his Quahog, only to find out that Brian has his UFC debut, with Stewie as his cornerman. Roy Nelson has a cameo.
Feed a fighter challenge on "Hell's Kitchen" -- The chefs have to create a post weigh-in dinner for Anderson Silva. It has to take into account his nutritional needs and love for fast food. Can they handle it, or will the chefs turn on each other? (Hint: It's reality TV. They're going to turn on each other.)
"So You Think You Can Dance: UFC edition" -- Fighters sure like to show off their moves on their way to the Octagon or after fights. Is it too much to ask for a UFC dance-off? No. No, it is not.

I thought I would share this article about the UFC and Fox Deal Press Conference from 5thRound.com and some of the notes from MiddleEasy.com all that are especially interesting since the UFC and especially Dana White had previously criticized everybody else about their production and especially CBS and ShowTime along with any competing promotions.
My own personal note, I thought having Josh Gross and Loretta Hunt in attendance was interesting considering their Bans from the UFC as well.
UFC and FOX: Awkward Start to a Great Partnership
Written by Tom Ngo
August 18th, 2011
UFC on Fox
Now that we’ve covered nearly all the bases regarding Thursday’s watershed partnership with the UFC and FOX, there were a couple of interesting tidbits from Thursday’s press conference that made our minds wonder away from all of the awesomeness for just the briefest of moments.
MMA fanboy observation list:
The popular stand-up comic is clearly better when he’s allowed to freestyle, as he stuttered several times reciting the prepared script.
Rogan was also dressed in a suit. The UFC’s longtime color commentator typically dons a button-up shirt and jeans during pay-per-view broadcasts.
While we’re on the fashion front, given the magnitude of today’s announcement, UFC president Dana White opted to not wear a suit. However, he was sporting a FOX Sports t-shirt to show appreciation for his new partners. Former UFC light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans was also a tad underdressed, but he appeared on camera for just a brief moment.
When the camera panned across the UFC superstars that were in attendance, they introduced welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre as Frankie Edgar and then displayed the puzzled lightweight champion when announcing St-Pierre’s name.
Josh Gross and Loretta Hunt, two of MMA’s longest tenured journalists, were present and allowed to ask White questions during the live press conference. Both reporters have been blacklisted from attending Octagon events for quite some time.
Gross is believed to be shunned for spoiling the finalists of “The Ultimate Fighter 4,” where as Hunt authored an article while working for Sherdog.com that suggested the UFC had banned managers and agents from appearing in their clients’ locker room on fight night.
And of course, the most interesting moment of the day was when they blasted the FOX Sports (NFL on FOX) theme song to kick off the festivities. #MusicToMyEars
http://www.5thround.com/85876/ufc-and-fox-awkward-start-to-a-great-partnership/
So here's every possible note that I could take during the UFC on FOX press conference...
Dave Hill also said the UFC has created the ultimate 3D experience, implying that MMA is multi-dimensional. Stated that boxing is one-dimensional.
Everything about UFC's production will change. No more gladiator intro, folks.
The audio-technician called the fighters 'wrestlers' before the press conference.

This sounds very positive which is great and I really like his end comments "We anticipate issuing financial statements for ProElite in the coming weeks. That should strengthen the case".
I believe this is absolutely fantastic for a number of reasons including this I would think will also remove the Limited Information indication off the Pinks Board reflecting the Stock and I think we have good reason to believe the Financials are in pretty good to great shape! MMA TV rumors: Is FOX leading bidder for UFC? CBS may stay in MMA biz by inking ProElite
Posted on August 17, 2011 by admin
Mixed martial arts is in good shape if multiple networks are fighting for both the UFC and smaller promotions.
The UFC’s deal with Spike expires near the end of the year, so negotiations with some of the bigger power plays in the U.S. have been ongoing. A few months back, the Wall Street Journal reported that Comcast/NBC was hot and heavy for the UFC. That included the promotion possibly purchasing the Comcast owned G4 network. Now ESPN.com is saying Fox may be in the lead.
ESPN.com has learned that the UFC’s rumored 2012 broadcast deal with NBC and takeover of the company’s G4 network may not happen now, as the unconfirmed rumbling are that negotiations may have broken down. Several sources say Fox — including its FOX Network, FX, Fox Sports Net and Fuel properties — is the new front runner for a UFC distribution deal and that an agreement could be done by the end of the month.
It makes sense since the UFC announced a deal with Fox Sports Latin America on Thursday.
The deal gives FOX Sports the rights to air UFC content in 18 countries in Latin America, excluding Brazil. UFC fans in the region will now have access to the best mixed martial arts fights in the world. UFC events will be available on FOX Sports, FOX Sports+, and FOX Sports HD, and all live events will air on FOX Sports and FOX Sports HD on Saturdays at 10 pm (Buenos Aires) and 8 pm (Mexico City).
“We are excited to be able to bring our viewers a front row seat to the fastest growing sport in world,” said Patrick Ilabaca, VP of global marketing and business development, FOX Pan American Sports in UFC press release. “Through our agreement with UFC, mixed martial arts fans throughout Latin America will for the first time be able to watch live UFC events exclusively on FOX Sports, which were traditionally only available on Pay-Per-View.”
The handwriting is on the wall for Strikeforce and its Showtime deal. It’s only a matter of time before the desired fighters are brought on board with the UFC and the promotion is shutdown. So what does that mean for Showtime’s MMA future? Cage Potato says the pay network is looking for alternatives.
Sources close to the promotion that was recently brought back from the verge of death by Stratus Media Group, who acquired a 95 percent ownership stake of the company in June, have informed CagePotato.com that ProElite is in the final stages of negotiations for a multi-year television deal with Viacom that will see its events broadcast on both Showtime and CBS starting in the first quarter of 2012.
ProElite VP of Fight Operations T. Jay Thompson spoke with AOL.com’s Ariel Helwani and said the rumors were false.

For sure! I think either they were either really desperate or trying to drive the market price down and hoping to buy back in cheaper if someone else is dumb enough to follow them.
Alot of of us have been here pretty much from the start so I know we ain't going anywhere unless somebody is going to pay us a whole lot of money to do it because like the many who have joined us along the way we all know where things are at, what's in play and where could grow too! And the number is whole lot bigger! This stock is going UP! IMO.

MMA Nation - Shaun Al-Shatti "ProElite is back in business and steadily preparing for their debut card under new ownership. An executive board made up of former ICON owner T. Jay Thompson, former Strikeforce matchmaker Rich Chou, and Paul Feller have put together a rather impressive card for the promotion's second incarnation"
MMA Nation - Shaun Al-Shatti "ProElite 1 will be headlined by a heavyweight matchup between two-time UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski (15-9) and King of the Cage veteran Ray Lopez (5-2)."
MMA Nation - Shaun Al-Shatti "Lopez is a three-time King of The Cage standout who has won four of his last five fights, including a 75-second TKO victory over Rob Morrow in July. ProElite Making Wise Decisions in a Post-Buyout, UFC-Dominated World
ProElite has been making wise decisions in the lead-up to their inaugural event on August 27th. Photo by ProElite.com.
In March, news leaked that ProElite, the parent company of the now-defunct EliteXC mixed martial arts promotion, was attempting to acquire Strikeforce. It was the first time since early 2009 that the ProElite brand had been uttered in a conversation pertaining to the current landscape of the sport. By most accounts, the mention was met with stiff skepticism from fans. In laymen's terms, fans rolled their eyes, laughed, and reminisced with other fans about the Kimbo Slice era, the Shaw family, and the classic main card bouts that weren't main card worthy at all.
Fast forward five months to August, and ProElite, now headed by ICON Sport founder T. Jay Thompson and former Strikeforce matchmaker Rich Chou, has wisely positioned itself in a market in which there is a demand. The UFC's own television negotiations with Spike TV along with the inevitable demise of Strikeforce on Showtime leaves some room for negotiations, and a possible reunion between ProElite and Showtime isn't unfathomable. Thompson has denied reports that ProElite has signed a deal with CBS and Showtime, but we would be fools to believe Showtime isn't looking for a substitute that they can inject money into once Strikeforce has been absorbed into the UFC.
FOX is also interested in entering the MMA scene, possibly using Fuel TV as a home for a mixed martial arts brand. The UFC is likely the frontrunner in those talks, but as we've come to realize in the past -- Zuffa has lofty demands such as full production control and a high price tag.
Timing has been key for ProElite, and the demand by television companies to attract the 18-34 male demographic remains high. Seems like the perfect environment for success, right? Unfortunately, promoting mixed martial arts events, as we've gathered from the past failures of various other organizations, involves much more than timing the market.
The greatest obstacle in ProElite's path is the limited talent pool. Zuffa essentially absorbed an enormous portion of the talent pool when they bought Strikeforce in March, and Bellator's aggressive scouting has limited the number of skilled prospects in the lower rungs of the sport. While it is obvious that Zuffa won't be able to maintain such a large roster without an incredible increase in the number of events they hold, more recognizable fighters who have the ability to draw fans outside of the UFC are getting more chances inside the Octagon. The lesser known fighters who have no real interest among fans are being released quickly, which isn't helping start-ups or established regional events draw eyes.
A cursory glance of ProElite's August 27th event card barely registered on the meter for me in terms of interest. Andrei Arlovski, who has lost three of his last four fights via knockout, will fight Ray Lopez, an unknown 5-2 fighter out of Holland, Michigan. That isn't a main event I would pay to watch. The rest of the card, however, has some flashes of brilliance and relevant matchmaking that should be noted.
Star-divide
The formula for running successful events, at least from the talent side, is mixing veteran fighters who can draw in fans with rising stars and fan-friendly action. Zuffa's stranglehold on the talent pool along with Bellator's own sizeable roster makes that a difficult proposition. In my mind, a newer promotion should aim for the hardcore fan acceptance early, creating match-ups between hyped prospects to draw the eyes of the media during off weeks by the major promotions. This is the type of matchmaking that Bellator has implemented.
ProElite has taken an even deeper approach, grabbing mostly unknown prospects from the local mixed martial arts scene in Hawaii and supporting them with more well-known veterans and hyped prospects. Former UFC veterans Kendall Grove and Joe Riggs will square off in a surprisingly solid co-main event match-up. 2009 NCAA Division I heavyweight wrestling champion Mark Ellis will make his professional debut, battling University of Hawaii back-up linebacker Jake Heun, who is still on the active roster at the university. B.J. Penn's brother, Reagan Penn, will make his mixed martial arts debut on the card, and 2004 Olympic freestyle wrestling silver medalist Sara McMann will fight in her fourth professional bout. An eclectic mix of fighters in different stages of their careers, and it's a mix that has added a lot of intrigue to ProElite's inaugural event.
ProElite has also appealed to fans for their professionalism thus far. Their website and the promotional video released for their first card are both of top quality. Thompson's recent comments to MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani are encouraging as well. Most notably, the promotion will pass on a network television deal until they are large enough to produce those types of drawing cards, and they intend to hold a heavyweight grand prix that will feature mostly unknown up-and-comers with a few veterans. Thompson hinted that both Arlovski and Ellis might be involved, and he suggested that they may be looking at a fighter like Jon Olav Einemo as a possible participant.
You've got me hooked, especially if a NCAA champion like Ellis gets the opportunity to make waves in the heavyweight division immediately and actually wins. Pick up a few high-rated prospects like Konstantin Gluhov, Vitaly Minakov, and Shamil Abdurahimov, and you've got yourself a tournament with serious potential.
While it's way too early to tell if ProElite will survive in the long haul, there is a need for a more prominent regional promotion in the landscape of the sport. Fighters still need a place to fight once they've been released by the UFC, and prospects are always looking to get more exposure as their careers progress. ProElite can offer both groups of fighters a legitimate platform, and the early moves by Thompson and Chou are a great sign of things to come.

He did not mention Tapout, Jaco Clothing, Pretorian Hardsports or anyone else who also all sponsor him and that is because of the nature of message. They do mention Dodge at the start of the clip as the sponsor.
