I have passed through Noosa, but have not had anything other than a few minutes stay there to eat. If you want some recommendations on where to stay which you can relax and get away from the hustle of the city and get back to relaxing just ask. I know most of the places to go.

We (wife and I) have a place in Lorne down on the southern coastal area southwest of Geelong/Melbourne area.

We normally do the DFW - LAX - SYD flight.

DFW to LAX is approx 2 hours of the leg.

Plenty of time for drinking on the remaining bit

That is the long leg. I have not flown that one.

From DFW to SYD is approx 15.5 hours give or take any change of flight plans due to weather over the pacific.

Last time it took us 17 hours and the time prior took us 15. The trip for us consists of DFW -> LAX -> SYD -> Carnes the last leg is on a private my friend has chartered for us. That will take us approximately 1.25 hours from Syd to Carnes.

If you ever do go to Australia you definately do not want to fly cattle class. We did that our first run down and I will tell you it is not a comfortable flight. I am 6'5"/265#. Business or 1st is the way to go. Though 1st is approximately 12k per seat.
