Added to the last post - How expensive are firewalls and AI going to be? Will AI need constant manual intervention if it gets too complex? Please share your thoughts Methinks. Thanks.
https://venturebeat.com/security/cisco-goes-all-in-on-ai-to-strengthen-its-cybersecurity-strategy/
Why is AI being used for firewalls? Didn’t years ago one of the board of directors of Wave predict that firewalls would become obsolete? Is trying to fix it with AI going to work? Wave has an alternative that works! Has AI been proven yet? What are your thoughts Methinks? Doesn’t this seem to be getting more and more complicated?
Methinks, you mentioning war makes me think of Richard Stiennon and Cyberwar a book that he wrote a few years back. I didn’t read the book but it was interesting that he did interviews with Steven Sprague and Bill Solms!! Now fast forward a few years and a Cyberwar seems to be a real threat and data is more valuable than oil. Wave protects data, devices and networks and maybe Steven Sprague, Bill Solms and Wave were just plain ahead of their time and is AI really going to solve the problem or TRY to make it abundantly harder for hackers? Why not use hardware security that is already built in? War or no War couldn’t organizations rapidly use this technology by turning it on with Wave’s help? Doesn’t it seem like SKS, Bill Solms, Wave and perhaps Richard Stiennon could be helping prevent a Cyberwar and the continuing theft of sensitive data? Your thoughts are always appreciated!!
Methinks, I think the politicians will see their data up for sale soon if the world doesn’t start using Wave soon. What do you think?
Methinks, there are so many organizations that are supposedly protected by Palo Alto, Crowdstrike, Okta, RSA Securid etc. yet a lot of these organizations’ data, devices and networks are not protected as shown in our examples. So why do organizations continue to spend an enormous amount of money on them when they could have better security at a reasonable price with Wave?
Methinks, isn’t the answer obvious to why cybersecurity incidents that now hit the sweet spot keep happening? Why isn’t Wave at the forefront of cybersecurity when nothing else is working?
https://www.theregister.com/AMP/2023/12/04/hershey_phishes_data_breach/
Methinks, great article, but what good does already built in (TPMs and SEDs) hardware security and resilience do for organizations if it is not turned on and managed?
Methinks, could a new trend like in the article below make organizations want Wave’s security even more? Aren’t many organizations not following the reporting rules?!
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/ransomware-gang-files-sec-complaint-over-victims-undisclosed-breach/amp/
Impatient LockBit says it’s leaked 50GB of stolen Boeing files after ransom fails to land
https://www.theregister.com/AMP/2023/11/10/lockbit_leaks_boeing_files/
Methinks, if Boeing doesn’t have better cybersecurity, what does this say about most of the critical industries and other organizations? What were they using for cybersecurity? Why wouldn’t this be the BIGGEST wake up call yet to use Wave security and enable it at scale before there is a catastrophe of epic proportions?
I probably shouldn’t have posted this since it’s almost Veteran’s Day!! Thank goodness for the Veterans!!!
Microsoft Authenticator now blocks suspicious MFA alerts by default
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/microsoft-authenticator-now-blocks-suspicious-mfa-alerts-by-default/amp/
Methinks, if there was no authenticator app and organizations used Wave VSC with the TPM automatically logging the device/user into web services wouldn’t these push notifications be non existent?!
Thoughts??
Microsoft likens MFA to 1960s seatbelts, buckles admins in yet keeps eject button
https://www.theregister.com/AMP/2023/11/07/microsoft_likens_mfa_to_1960s/
Wave has tested its VSC MFA with all the business verticals and it covers the whole organization by using the TPM (device id) as hardware security. Do organizations have a choice as to what MFA to use? Is Microsoft being monopolistic here? Methinks, isn’t it great what Microsoft is saying about MFA though?
Another question methinks is how much will Microsoft charge once the HSM is in use and is the HSM security that is interoperable like the TPM?
Methinks- Wouldn’t you think that organizations would see the value and better security in the TPM and Wave VSC to protect their networks, data and devices? Is it the organization making the choice for these organizations or Microsoft? Doesn’t it seem like it’s the organization’s call!! With the TPM built in the hardware is already paid for where as with an HSM the organization has to pay for it and install it!! Wave should be cheaper and the TPM is already built into enterprise computers and it has been proven over many years by many large technology companies. No??
A new world of security: Microsoft’s Secure Future Initiative
https://blogs.microsoft.com/on-the-issues/2023/11/02/secure-future-initiative-sfi-cybersecurity-cyberattacks/
Excerpt;
This will build upon our confidential computing architecture and the use of (HSMs) that store and protect keys in hardware and that encrypts data at rest in transit and during computation.
————————————————————
Methinks and others, why isn’t the TPM being used (when it has proven itself from malware attacks) instead of HSMs (these cost money vs. TPMs which are already built-in) to protect keys and why not use built-in SEDs for data at rest? Couldn’t the TPM be used for identity protection with Wave VSC? The TPMs are already built in to billions of devices; why spend money and have to install HSMs when TPMs and SEDs could be turned on and managed at scale by Wave?
LastPass breach linked to theft of $4.4 million in crypto
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/lastpass-breach-linked-to-theft-of-44-million-in-crypto/amp/
Excerpt: “The number of victims who only had the specific group of seeds/keys that were drained stored in LastPass is simply too much to ignore.”
Why not simply use proven better security by using Wave VSC MFA rather than password managers? Methinks- your thoughts please!
Methinks- wasn’t Wave and hardware security proven with PwC and that financial services company that had 150,000 seats? Doesn’t Wave work simpler and more effectively than software based solutions that cost more??
Methinks, I don’t think that uses the TPM BICBW. Very long passwords are being used, CAPTCHAS and whatever things they can come up with for security that makes life difficult for legitimate, law abiding citizens. Wouldn’t the TPM and Wave be so much simpler and more secure for their systems at a cost less than Malwarebytes which sounds software based??!!
Methinks,
My cousin has been trying to get his unemployment benefits through a state and I won’t tell you which state, but they asked him all these security questions that were crazy like what was your mothers favorite color and other hard questions which he didn’t even answer before and input into the system. It’s been a real nightmare for him to get the money he is owed , and he has been a hardworking, law abiding citizen!!! Wouldn’t Wave and the TPM help big time with identity and security?!!
Methinks, isn’t it shocking that 18,000 companies are doing business with Okta and other MFA cybersecurity which are used by thousands of companies and they haven’t been effective with many new band aids added!! Dumbfoundedness, yes. Especially when the security is already built-in and just needs to be turned on. What’s up with this crazy herd mentality?
Okta cybersecurity breach wipes out more than $2Billion in market cap
https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2023/10/23/okta-hack-wipes-out-more-than-2-billion-in-market-cap.html
Why not use the Wave Alternative now?
Methinks, what do you think?
Methinks, thank you for appreciating my contribution. You saying that means a lot!
My father was always a man who saw the possible rather than the impossible!
With Wave’s amazing and simpler technology being seen to fruition, why can’t the bounty be shared by ESW, Wave, creditors and Wave shareholders? Each has played an important role with Wave and the possibilities for better security for the world by using Wave are enormous and as you said that Wave could revolutionize the computer industry! Steven Sprague is a very creative and brilliant person and Bill Solms has the experience and good relationship with the government and can run a tight ship and all the Wave’s employees and ex-employees are amazing. Well maybe not all but many of them. The possibilities are endless!!! Thanks again Methinks my friend!!
Federal Agencies are falling behind on meeting key privacy goal set five years ago
https://cyberscoop.com/federal-agencies-data-privacy-concerns-risk-management-strategies/
Methinks- With War continuing to break out, and Cyberwar looming wouldn’t it be a great idea to turn on TPMs and SEDs and simpler Wave solutions to protect data, devices and networks?
Where are Bill Solms and Steven Sprague and the Wave employees when their technology is necessary and needed big time!!!
Bitlocker….
Methinks, great find. Could Wave’s SED management and all the SEDs that should be activated solve a lot of inefficiency or problems for organizations in this case?? Thanks Methinks!!!
Microsoft plans to kill off NTLM authentication in Windows 11
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/microsoft-plans-to-kill-off-ntlm-authentication-in-windows-11/amp/
Methinks and others, what do you think of Wave VSC and its prevention of intruders not being allowed on the network or thus also not being allowed to move laterally on the network with regard to this article? Thank you Methinks for all of your posts!!
Infineon find…..
Methinks, given your Infineon find about e-waste and the ecosystem isn’t your find really a significant find in relation to Wave being able to secure full enterprise computer TPM fleets by turning them on and managing them and keeping older computers for a time from going into the waste stream? IMO, your find is significant!!!
New Hiatus RAT malware attack target US Defense Department
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/new-hiatusrat-malware-attacks-target-us-defense-department/amp/
Didn’t the NSA say many years ago that malware attacks against TPMs were ineffective?? Don’t hackers have to possess the device to ‘TRY’ to hack? Isn’t that much harder to do than a software only defense?? Why aren’t we activating all TPMs in the government when software only security solutions aren’t working?
What does Bill Solms have to say? Bill Solms and Steven Sprague were very good leaders!! Wasn’t Wave just ahead of its time and unfortunately their financial condition wasn’t very good which probably kept MANY potential customers on the sidelines. Fast forward many years later and the TCG isn’t using Wave, one of the founders (Why not?). Isn’t Wave the secret sauce for the TCG or missing link??
New stealthy techniques let hackers gain Windows SYSTEM privileges
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/new-stealthy-techniques-let-hackers-gain-windows-system-privileges/amp/
Doesn’t this make activation of TPMs, at scale and management of them all the more IMPORTANT!!!! Wave is essential!!!
Hosting firm says it lost all customer data after ransomware attack
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/hosting-firm-says-it-lost-all-customer-data-after-ransomware-attack/
Excerpts: “Sadly, it has been impossible to recover more data, and the majority of our customers have consequently lost all there data with us”
The hosting company’s statements revealed that some of the firm’s servers had been infected by ransomware despite being protected by firewalls and antivirus.
Methinks and others: Wave basically said why are organizations using firewalls and and antivirus on its old website years ago and now we have this company’s customer data being lost. When is the market going to understand that Wave is essential and firewalls and antivirus are not? Aren’t there many servers protected by the TPM? Why aren’t we turning them on and protecting data? Why aren’t Trusted Computing companies and Wave getting together NOW so these security lapses don’t continue to happen?? Does Steven Sprague have any suggestions?
Cisco’s Duo Security Suffers major authentication outage
https://www.theregister.com/AMP/2023/08/21/ciscos_duo_outage/
Methinks and others:
Why use Duo security and other MFA when organizations could use Wave VSC-MFA with TPM based based security, and avoid outages such as the one in this article?
Microsoft is now a cybersecurity titan. That could be a problem
https://techmonitor.ai/technology/cybersecurity/microsoft-cybersecurity-titan
Interesting article!! Couldn’t Wave be a big help here Methinks?
Why not T.E.A.M (Together Everyone Achieves More) Work??
Hands up who wants a PC? Lenovo reports declining returns
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Profit down 66% as execs try to clear inventory decks.
https://www.theregister.com/AMP/2023/08/17/lenovo_pc_sales/
Excerpt: ….”and to invest in R & D to find the next killer hardware device. “
———————————————————
Methinks and others:
Why doesn’t Lenovo return to selling Wave’s essential solutions with activated killer hardware devices (TPMs) and SEDs that are already built in to its computers? Wouldn’t that better protect devices, networks, and data for a good part of the world?
White House orders federal agencies to shore up cybersecurity, warns of potential exposure
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/08/16/politics/jake-sullivan-cybersecurity-warning/index.html
Why doesn’t someone show Biden what Wave can do? Nothing else works as effectively at protecting data, devices and networks as Wave!!
Isn’t it a little scary that if the U.S. and the UK don’t use Wave solutions first they could continue like it’s been for so many years, and other countries who use it could launch cyber attacks against us knowing they are protected by a disruptive technology like Wave!! Hasn’t Wave’s technology just simply been ahead of its time? Isn’t the time NOW to roll it out at scale??
https://www.zdnet.com/google-amp/article/china-accuses-us-intelligence-agencies-as-source-behind-wuhan-cybersecurity-attack/
Could now be a good time to implement Wave and hardware security to prevent malware unlike other Antimalware to defend the U.S against a Chinese counter cyberattack? Wouldn’t Wave’s VSC /2FA keep the US’s network, devices and data safe from future Chinese cyberattacks rather than existing 2FA?
What do you think Methinks?
Indian armed forces gives Windows its marching orders, but only for desktop warriors
https://www.theregister.com/AMP/2023/08/14/opinion_column_india/
Can the security in Microsoft’s operating systems compete with Maya OS without activated TPMs?
Wave solutions are essential and needed now!!!
