This is an interesting article. One thing I’d like to know is what do Okta and Cisco duo consider a ‘hardware token’?! Are either of these MFA products doing device authentication with standards based TPMs?? How many data breaches, ransomware attacks, hackers living on the networks, and cyber attacks have occurred while organizations have been using these products?? Seems like there has been a lot of breaches and cyber attacks while companies have been using these products!! I think AXA would do well to make the activated TPM and Wave MFA to be mandatory for their cyber insurance or give the warning if you don’t have device authentication with an activated TPM and you are hit with one of these cyber attacks you will not be covered!!! And we all know what happened recently to Microsoft’s MFA and Google MFA!!
