It’s in the sorcia lisencing agreement on page 35. (Available on sedar.com and dated November 16,2018)
Well said. In your opinion, What value could IBATs 10% stake in sorcia minerals potentially be worth?
Are you familiar with the Chinese company Chemphys? It holds a 20% stake in Sorcia Minerals
SQMs royalty rate to CORFO is based on a progressive rate of the final sale price.
In regard to lithium carbonate, the current rate of 6.8% on FOB sales shall be changed to the following structure of progressive rates based on the final sale price:
Price US$/MT Li2CO3
Lease payment rate
$0 - $4,000 $4,000 - $5,000 $5,000 - $6,000 $6,000 - $7,000 $7,000 - $10,000 > $10,000
6.8%
8.0% 10.0% 17.0% 25.0% 40.0%
As an example and considering a price of US$12,600 per metric ton (similar to the average price seen in the third quarter of 2017), the lease rate would have been equal to 19.14%.

You’re right, but One comes precharged and the other doesn’t. What are your thoughts on the lithium supply side and it’s effect on lithium prices? Are you concerned about oversupply if all these new lithium resources come online?
I am wary about comparing lithium to oil. It is a raw material not an energy source.
Not everyone is a fan of Claystone mines
https://www.stoplithium.com/
Open pit mining from claystones will likely receive bad publicity from enviromentalists, but with a target cost of $3500-4500/LCE the margins look good. Has STLHF or E3 released any preliminary cost estimates yet? Burba has consistently stated that IBAT should be in the lower tier.

interesting read for conventional lithium production costs
Thx for sharing this. It’s very interesting that she says at today’s prices most oilfield brines wouldn’t be economically viable. This is another reason why I like IBAT. We are not limited to oilfield or geothermal brines like other startups are. Burba has stated that IBATs modular units can be deployed to any lithium bearing brine in the world. It makes perfect sense for burba to have started in South America.

Ensorcia Metals Corporation as part of their ongoing commitment to fund the build of the first mobile extraction unit advanced $150,000 US to Boston Technology Consultants Group, Inc. to continue the engineering and testing of the extraction unit design.

It is good to see Ensorcia Metals remain committed. We are fortunate to have them as our first licensee. They could have bailed on IBAT when the original deadline of June 30, 2020 passed without an extraction unit in place.
IBATs modular units sound promising to be durable and low maintenance.
[0026] Further, systems in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure reduces the dynamics, vibrations, and interactions that are present in conventional systems. Systems in accordance with the present disclosure may be operated at lower pressures, and with shorter columns may be subject to reduced recycling of brine. Other aspects of the present disclosure may also reduce the wear on system hardware and sorbent components.
[0030] In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, a shorter column may be subject to a lower amount of pressure drop across the length of the column, thereby reducing the chance of abrasion/friction between the particles. Further, a smaller diameter column may be easier to control the pressure changes/surges across the diameter of the column, thereby increasing the sharpness of the brine-water interface within each column. By tighter control of the brine-water interface, the efficiency of the overall system may increase. The lower pressure drop reduces the grinding and allows much more capacity of the system, while increased pressure also increases sorbent particle attrition. This in turn increases internal useful life and allows for continued lower cost operation.

Would have been nice if they included IBAT in the comparisons. I was searching for e3’s patent when I stumbled upon mgx’s but I’ll look again. How mobile is e3’s system?

Ya that was ridiculous.
If burba would leave the company, the patent application would not go with him, because he is not the first named applicant on the application.
You went from saying Burba owns all of his old patents to saying IBAT doesnt own any patents to saying Burba is IBAT and therefore owns the patents.
Who is the patent applicant?
As far as patent applications are concerned, “applicant” basically means the owner. A patent applicant specifically refers to a person (which may also be a company – aka “juristic person”) who has the right to apply for the patent – in other words, the patent owner. Therefore, in the typical situation where an employee’s invention is owned by the employer, the employee would be identified as the inventor and the employer the applicant.

Why are you lumping IBAT and John Burba as the same? Burba works for IBAT.
USPTO has Burba listed as an inventor and an assignor, what we are saying is that the assignee owns the patents. You said that burba owns the patents. That is not true; the assignee owns the patent.
Do a quick assignee search on USPTO website.
https://assignment.uspto.gov/patent/index.html#/patent/search/result?id=john%20burba&type=patAssigneeName
Not a single patent has Burba listed as a assignee . He signed every invention away.
IBAT is using 4th generation technology acquired from SAL. Any previous patents Burba invented are irrelevant to IBAT. Burba does not "own" any patents.

This is the patent application IBAT bought from SAL
It doesn't appear to me that SAL had or filed a patent for its intellectual property. However, when IBAT acquired SAL, IBAT started amortizing the Lithium Extraction Technology Asset Purchase. Can intellectual property be amortized if its not a patent? Or are we still missing something?
As at June 24, 2020, the Company had 63,371,166 common shares, 2,055,000 options and 13,579,287 warrants respectively

are these patents the oilfield brine extraction ones?
I may have found Albemarle's patent for its new lithium technology referenced in this link.

I think it will get approved, but it is going to take awhile. Some of burbas old patents took 5+ years. Burba worked with Harrison in 2014, a year after Harrisons patent applications were filed in 2013, so he was familiar with his work and is still confident IBATs patents will be approved. Hopefully a positive development in the licensing agreement with Ensorcia ( and more licensing agreements after that) will move this stock up while we wait for the patent to come along.

Ya. But not very active with it
Battle for brine: In an expansive PTAB battle over brine, a San Diego-based geothermal energy company, Energy Source Minerals LLC (of Energy Source), has filed a number of IPRs against unaffiliated All American Lithium LLC (previously known as Terralithium LLC), a Delaware entity of recent vintage. The predecessor-in-interest Alger Alternative, LLC (seemingly run by Clay Walker, Jr.) bought the bankruptcy assets of Simbol Material, Inc, including a portfolio of roughly 60 patents, many on lithium extraction—i.e., related to the extraction of lithium from geothermal brine, which, if successfully commercialized, could provide another source of the world’s lithium supply. The portfolio is as yet unlitigated.

All American lithium llc and Terralithium llc appear to be related.
Are these burbas old patents or lilac solutions patents? The company website has lilac listed under consultants as DLE technical lead.
In the patent abstract it states, "Although described herein with respect to lithium and/or lithium species, other elements and/or species, e.g., calcium and/or other alkaline earth metals, sodium and/or other alkali metals, etc., may be employed without departing from the scope of the present disclosure." Does this mean IBAT plans to use this technology for other elements as well?
Thanks TC. I think the key to burbas patent is what he stated during the news release dated June 11, 2018. "A key advantage of this unique process is that it does not rely on electrolysis to produce 99.9% to 99.99% purity lithium products.”

Ya 5000 isn’t very much. Weird.
