Kmack: For us in the US, And I think Canada, the best thing would be to hold long term growth stocks in your after-tax retirement account (Roth IRA) so that any gains will not be subject to tax at withdrawal. (At least until Congress realizes the US is bankrupt and they find some reason to seize peoples property for more money to pay for their salaries.)
PM. As an alternative to golf in Florida in February, I would think that a round in Canada in Jul-August would be I lot of fun! (First the mine shaft, then the new club shafts! (And some newer transportion!)

They could hold and hope for another administration that understands the negative effect of a high capital gains tax. (Or or replaces an administration that understands the negative impact because the economic downturn is the objective.)
Chico; I agree; it would be best to have commitment for financing the total 1.1 billion in place, but as you say, receive funding in a series of tranches. Draw when needed. No point in paying interest on Money that is not being put to use.

Thought it might not hold so I did a 100 Share purchase for the same amount at 2:58 CST to make it stick, which it did.
I would purchase 100 shares at a higher price, say $1.15, but there is sell order for a big slug of shares at $1.08 (24,000??). If it stays on Monday the market will need to digest that before SP moves up.
We will see what Monday brings!

Proceed on the basis of NioCorps current plans and adapt / refine them once operational!
Last tick $1.09 USD 11:22 EST. OTC
Last ask is $1.10 USD
Boilermaker; Your thoughts regarding Niocorp potentially adding REEs to their suite of prod
As observed by others, NioCorp can't/shouldn't deviate from their current processing plant plans and critical path management because this would result in a re-review of previously submitted and approved plans. (Perhaps a limited re-review of for CO2 Pressure containment vessels by the state if it involves significant cost savings?) To do this would delay start up production and profitability.
So, to clarify...if their REE feasibility study works out (I expect it will) Scott would probably consider REE extraction processing from the stand point of an almost totally separate Niocorp processing line subject to its own set of regulatory reviews (and delays), something pretty much stand alone from the Sc/Nb/Ti separation & refining process. In effect it would be a separate/stand alone plant on site to receive the acid leech REE feedstock ?
PM; "31 million share warrants that are in the money" Yah,different audience. He is pitching potential big investors and financial institutions "Here is how we make money for you":
1) Our current P.P. warrant holders will make money and you will too if you invest in NioCorp and we get this mine built.
2) the Exercise of those warrants will provide NioCorp us with operating capital so we are and will be solvent and you do not need to take the "going concern" warnings in our financial too seriously because we will still be here at year end and we do another P.P. again if we have to because we have a good plan and good product. (Talking to them not us.)
As existing shareholders and expired out of the money warrant holders we naturally have a different prospective than his HC Wainwright audience. Finance now! I think in the end we will need to accept that there will be some level of share dilution iattached to any NioCorp financing. (Not even going to think about Merger or Buyout.)
I think that they have one or more tentative consortium partners for financing at this point and are just looking a few more to spread the risk around. .
Just my opinion. No secret information. Everyone should do their own D.D. here.
Family matter.... Lets hope its not.
Chico 237; Note the little price jump to $.3985. Interesting.
No news that I could find. Order imbalance? Someone had a margin call and had to sell? Purchase order price input error? Only 2500 shares. Nice to see.
I have a partial limit sell that i pushed to a higher price.
Chico, all; From the news release;
"Proceeds of the private placement will be used for continued advancement of the Company's Elk Creek Superalloy Materials Project, including ongoing detailed engineering efforts, conducting technical assessments of potentially adding rare earth products to the planned product offering, and for working capital and general corporate purposes."
I suspect this one sentence is why they made the announcement before Marks WH Wainwright Presentation. He can present Elk Creek as a having a high potential for future saleable REE products and to acknowledge that this is a particular focus of their future engineering efforts.
Nobody likes dilution, I am sure that Mark Smith does not either.
If nothing else this demonstrates to other potential investors that they will use the tools they have and act to move the project out of the office and off of a set of blueprints in a drawer.
If this is how they have to claw their way to site prep and infrastructure and initial engineering without entangling Government grants and avoiding any Chinese ownership then do it.
So, overall positive. Elk Creek Processing facility and mine will be more attractive to any consortium of investors or potential suitor/partner.
Nope, not selling my shares.

Search Minerals Climbs 6.5% after Reporting 2021 Rare Earth Element Exploration Program in Labrador
BY MT Newswires

11:11 AM EDT, 04/15/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Search Minerals Inc. ( SHCMF ) on Thursday climbed 6.5% on last look after reporting its 2021 exploration program for critical rare earth elements, Zirconium and Hafnium, in the Port Hope Simpson - St. Lewis CREE District in South East Labrador and the Red Wine District in central Labrador.
The program includes three different drill programs at DEEP FOX and channel sampling programs at SILVER FOX and FOX MEADOW, and a helicopter-supported, prospecting, and sampling program in the RED WINE district, according to a news release.
The company plans to start a Phase III drill program in May for the DEEP FOX deposit. This program will consist of up to 7,000 meters of drilling in 30 to 35 holes. The geotechnical drill program will start in this summer, while the Phase IV infill drill program is expected to begin this fall.

Off to do stuff, someone please correct if I am not understanding this correctly!
Chico; Just as I was getting ready to sell another stock to buy more SHCMF shares!
It is good news!
I am not in mining or chemical processing engineer, but it appears to me that their magnetic dry/wet separation will produce a saleable feed stock if they choose to start up mining operations before they have their own acid leach facility in operations.
It is a speculative holding, but it seems its becoming a little less speculative!

(Excerpt--go to link for complete release w charts showing recovery percentages.)
"Vancouver, B.C. April 12, 2021 – Search Minerals Inc. (TSXV: SMY) (“Search” or the “Company”), is pleased to announce that SGS Canada Inc. (“SGS”) has reported on pre-concentration of the rare earth content of DEEP FOX, FOXTROT and FOX MEADOW mineral samples using Low Intensity Magnetic Separation (LIMS) and Wet High Intensity Magnetic Separation (WHIMS). This program was initiated following the successful use of LIMS to concentrate magnetite and WHIMS to concentrate rare earth elements prior to zirconia flotation with a channel sample of SILVER FOX deposit mineralization (see Search Minerals new release January 12, 2021).
HIGHLIGHTS – RARE EARTH CONCENTRATION
The DEEP FOX, FOXTROT and FOX MEADOW results for WHIMS concentration of REE’s are shown below.
A sample of DEEP FOX mineralization containing 1.15% TREO/Y was treated sequentially by LIMS and WHIMS. The WHIMS concentrate was enriched to 5.55% TREO/Y containing enriched levels of the key magnet making elements (Nd/Pr/Tb/Dy). The overall recovery of TREO/Y to the WHIMS Concentrate was 78.3%
A sample of FOXTROT mineralization containing 1.13% TREO/Y enriched to 4.81% TREO/Y in the WHIMS concentrate with an overall recovery of 78.3%.
A sample of FOX MEADOW mineralization containing 0.92% TREO/Y enriched to 3.91% TREO/Y in the WHIMS concentrate with an overall recovery of 81.8%.
Further work at SGS Canada is planned to investigate increases in recovery and grade of the WHIMS rare earth concentrates and to demonstrate REE recovery via the Search Direct Extraction process applied to the concentrates."
...SNIP.......
"The major findings are;
Rare earth elements were concentrated by WHIMS at ~80% overall recovery, yielding 3.91-5.5% TREO (including Y) grade. The mass of material reporting to the WHIMS concentrates ranged from 16-19% of the original material. This will dramatically reduce the material to be processed via the Direct Extraction Process.
LIMS concentrates containing 92-98% Fe2O3 have been produced. These concentrates may be saleable as a by-product as an iron ore concentrate.
The WHIMS non-magnetic product contains ~83-88% of the ZrO2 from the original mineral samples. This result is consistent with the Silver Fox testing reported in a News Release dated January 12, 2021. The deportment of ZrO2 to the WHIMS non-magnetic product allows the further opportunity to recover zirconium and hafnium by mineral separation (eg. flotation) processes.
These results will be the basis for further process optimization and engineering trade off studies. The process optimization work will focus on obtaining increased grade of WHIMS magnetic concentrate and increasing the overall recovery. Engineering trade off studies will compare the cost of whole of ore treatment by the Direct Extraction Process versus pre-concentration by magnetic separation followed by WHIMS concentrate treatment by the Direct Extraction Process."
Greg Andrews, President/CEO states; “This test work demonstrates the potential to use LIMS and WHIMS to recover magnetite concentrate for potential sale and, most importantly, to recover a REE concentrate for processing to recover a high grade REE product for refining and separation. The treatment of a REE concentrate from any of our deposits would dramatically reduce the size of a Direct Extraction process plant for REE recovery. Similarly, the use of acids and bases and other reagents would be significantly reduced. Search Minerals has now confirmed that magnetic concentration can be applied to DEEP FOX, FORTROT AND FOX MEADOW mineralization. Search Minerals thanks ACOA and InnovateNL for their continued support received to undertake this study.”....Snip.

"U.S. Faces Uphill Climb to Rival China’s Rare-Earth Magnet Industry
West lags China on both supply and processing of materials key to electric cars and wind turbines"
"Businesses and governments across the West are gearing up to counter China’s dominance in a key component of modern technology: the magnet.
But the dozens of companies jostling for government support will struggle to establish a supply chain to rival China’s rare-earth magnet industry, which has a decadeslong head start and steadfast state support, analysts and executives say.
Powerful magnets made of rare-earth minerals are essential components in electric-vehicle motors, wind turbines and other technology. China mines over 70% of the world’s rare earths and is responsible for 90% of the complex process of turning them into magnets, analysts say. That dominance gives Beijing sway over makers of various fast-growing technologies.
The U.S. government is investing tens of millions of dollars in efforts to mine and process rare earths. President Biden in February signed an executive order directing a review of supply chains for critical materials, including rare earths. His recent infrastructure plan also pledged investment in rare-earth separation" ....snip. more at link (WSJ Firewall)

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 09, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Medallion Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: MDL; OTCQB: MLLOF; Frankfurt: MRDN) – (“Medallion” or the “Company”), reports that since January 1, 2021 the Company has received funds for the exercise of 4,249,014 warrants and options for gross proceeds of approximately $792,000. The warrants and options were priced between $0.09 and $0.40 with an average exercise price of $0.19 per share. Medallion is in a strong position with over $2,000,000 of working capital, with research and engineering programs underway on both the extraction and separation of rare-earth elements (REE).
“We are very pleased and thankful to receive the continuing support of shareholders with the exercise of almost $800,000 in warrants and options,” said Mark Saxon, CEO and President. “With a strong cash position, we can now make commitments to longer term research and corporate development.”
Rare-Earth Element Separation Technology Acquisition - Update
In addition to Medallion’s long-term investment in a proprietary process for the sustainable extraction of REEs from mineral sand monazite, the Company recently acquired an exclusive license to a portfolio of technology, patents, and knowhow for ligand-assisted displacement (LAD) chromatography from Purdue University. The license enables Medallion to deploy the LAD technology in the separation and purification of rare-earth elements for all minerals, mineral processing by-products and mining waste feedstock, excluding coal-sourced materials. Medallion has begun discussions with third parties to sub-license the LAD technology and provide much sought-after and low-environmental impact REE separation.
The LAD system, developed by Linda Wang, PhD, the Purdue Maxine Spencer Nichols Professor of Chemical Engineering, was selected for investment by Medallion following extensive review of the REE separation industry. The green engineering and design principles applied by Dr Wang were recognized through the publication of her research in the Journal Green Chemistry in 2020. LAD chromatography is an aqueous (water based) process that does not depend upon petrochemical industry solvents to function. The technology is built upon a platform that is widely used in the pharmaceuticals industry and provides an environmentally sound method for REE separation with low technology risk and holds tremendous promise.
