Piper Jaffrey started covering more than just Titan:
"Analysts at Piper Jaffray initiated coverage on Titan Medical Inc. (NASDAQ: TMDI) with an Overweight rating. The price target for Titan Medical is set to $6. Titan Medical shares closed at $2.71 on Tuesday.
Piper Jaffray initiated coverage on Transenterix Inc (NYSE: TRXC) with a Neutral rating. The price target for Transenterix is set to $1.60. Transenterix closed at $1.26 on Tuesday."
Why would they set Trixie so high?
I caught it! And I wish I didn't agree with it as much as I do. You may have noticed my posts have been a bit more scarce as of late.

Sorry 66, I can't b/c if I even say something positive it will be deleted like a ton of posts over the last several weeks. I've decided that the only way to post something that won't be deleted is to be completely unpredictable and swing wildly from one view point to the other. I've also found that we can say something that actually has no factual backing or mathematic backing and it will be taken by some as accurate (see most other postings on this board). To prove my point, hopefully you will read this before it is deleted.
Rocko, can you please elaborate on this "simple math"? How would it require a PPS of $22 on the 27th? Something doesn't look very simple about this math. In high school, I was a National Math Exam Award winner (First Place in school, Second Place in state) so I'm usually pretty good with simple math. But I'm ready to learn more if your hypothesis makes logical or mathematical sense!
Thank you in advance.
Message in reply to:
Today's close will the highest it will be before the AGM - mark it down - they get the reprice at $3.40. Based off simple math, in order for the price to be over $3.40, they would need a PPS of $22 on May 27th - ain't going to happen so best bet is to just wait now to purchase until after AGM.
Nice post, for sure!
Keep in mind when reading "expectation that the submittal of its IDE application to the FDA would take place early during the third quarter 2019" that Q3 is only about 6 weeks away from now! Animal and cadaver studies are probably well under way at this point. Also, confirmatory human studies planned to be completed by end of this year.
We are well on our way! I just hope that progress on these milestones can be reported publicly to keep our share price on an upward trajectory.

So your answer is buy more of a losing stock?
No thanks I’ll keep buy elsewhere and making money.
A fire sale isn't a realistic expectation at this juncture. Losing our top talent to fat-walleted competitors is all too realistic right now. And not only would the competitors get top-tier talent for their money, they would also cripple the upcoming competition (us).
La La Land is thinking this isn't a real threat.
Message in reply to:
Really? A fire sale wouldn't make for a swollen testy or two?
Disagree. The biggest kick to the nads we longs face would be the departure of our three brightest work horses. If it was solely about losing the Rock, I think the sentiment might be a bit different...

Yep. The repricing worries me. This could be one last swift kick to the b@lls of all the longs.
All those quotes were based on their experiences with the old, outdated hardware design and early software with only basic functionality. Wait until they get their hands on the new machine! Those are the quotes I'm looking forward to seeing!
Nice to see someone who understands the process... or even understands that there IS a process!
Message in reply to:
Exactly, the software will continue to evolve. They will eventually create release 1.0, or whatever they call it, and that is what gets filed for the initial 510k. The company then continues to work to develop 2.0, and when that is ready, the company then files for 510k to release 2.0. Software development never ends, Titan will just need to establish software revisions that get released as they are 510k approved.
Mharb, The selection for COB was inspired and is inspiring. It is very good news; he has experience in growing a robotic company and selling it for what was, at the time, extraordinary sums of money. Was Director and Chairman among other things at MAKO. Before that, ten years at Orthofix, half of those years as CEO (before the subsequent management team ran into trouble). And as Smith & Nephew keeps coming up as possible sugar daddies for Titan, we see that Mr. Federico was also President and General Manager at S&N Endoscopy for for about 8 years. I agree that it may be rather "telling" that the announcement very quickly jumps to the MAKO acquisition.
Everything about this guy is right on target for what Titan needs moving forward. However, this stock, and this message board, both appear to be impervious to good news.
Message in reply to:
I'm really surprised to see no commentary on the new chairman of the board. His relationship with mako and being bought out by Stryker has some very interesting veins to it. Stryker could certainly make for an interesting partner and buyout. Of course just thinking out loud but we all believe this is getting bought out at some point it's McNally's pattern and this new chairman of the board's resume the first thing that they pointed out in their press release
Has nobody else noticed today's news? New Chairman of the Board?
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/titan-medical-names-prominent-medical-110000945.html
Former Director at MAKO... Robotic surgery company experience.
I would say that this announcement was more thorough than most. With so many people expressing distrust for Mr. McNally, if they didn't bring the full story to light, folks that don't understand Design Freeze as a hardware task will claim he was lying when software updates are released.
I've been working on a complex hematology analyzer for the past five years; initial regulatory approval was in 2016. Continued software development efforts were called Life Cycle Packages; a normal part of marketing and supporting such a device.
The software has to be complete enough to support full hardware functionality for Qualification, V&V, etc. but can and will still evolve after that.
Message in reply to:
Let me ask a simple question. What would be your thoughts if Medtronic or BioTronik announced a design freeze on a new pacemaker or defibrillator but the software was still evolving... most would realize that a device that is 90% software based in its function and safety features it’s not complete until the software is frozen.
I’ve been in this industry for almost 30 years and never seen an announcement or design freeze with a caveat. If it is standard that the software would evolve prior to launch then it wouldn’t be mentioned.
You can read it how you like but those are the facts. It may work out in the end but there’s a reason that was put in writing... in case their is a software delay.

This is no prototype. Late stage prototypes were hyped by world-renowned surgeons last year while developing training protocols. This is the real deal. This is what hospitals will buy next summer.
Software? Who among you hasn't had your cell phone update to Pie or the latest iOS, or the bi-weekly Win10 update... High tech devices are never complete from a software standpoint. By launch time next year, they will have added more redundancies and safety features, better firewalls, more features... Just like every other piece of high tech hardware we all already own. Today is still a landmark day. Software is eternally flexible and must remain so to allow future competitiveness via new features, and future security against hacking threats.
As for hints that Verb is part of this project, I remain dubious. It's too early for our system to feed their eventuality. I still think the Verb program is an overlay to an OS for a system such as ours; it will map patient parameters against surgeon movements and stored images in a database, and eventually allow the automation of common surgical procedures by database evaluation, image recognition, and replication of surgeon motion. For surgeons touting Verb technology, I believe they are promoting their own demise... but if that's the future of robotic surgery, as an investor I'm forced to be on board with this technologically-driven future. But if/when this comes to fruition, Titan should have made a killing by selling this data to Verb as a gigantic additional revenue stream that has yet to be mentioned by management. This all is my interpretation of what is currently happening RE Verb and Titan. Just that, and maybe nothing more. Or maybe a lot more!

The DF news this morning is absolutely amazing. We have an official prototype now and it is being tested as we speak. I can promise you that the secret embedded software is also installed and working. We just do not know who the developer is. We longs have never been at this stage in the game and we will have more and more eyes on this baby as we inch closer and closer to "Rebranding"!
Congrats to all Longs!

Now that IS FUNNY! So spot on.......
Oh, it wasn't rescheduled... it just mean Mr. McNally LIED about the date originally. Like he does about everything. In fact, all the changes they made actually changed the SPORT system into a toaster oven. Soon they will only need a UL listing instead of FDA approval. Must be why the re-branding is also underway. Unless he lied about that too.

Message in reply to:
Just to clear up the apparent confusion, Titan is still applying for CE but has removed EU launch from its timeline.
From latest SEDAR filing prior to yesterday's Bloom Burton announcement:
Milestone 7 Complete and document human
confirmatory studies under IDE protocols
for FDA submittal
Submit Technical File to European
Notified Body for review for CE Mark
Submit 510(k) application to FDA
15.1(3) Q4 2019
Looks like Europe is still on the map. Mr. McNally has previously stated that the US launch will be the initial launch, focusing on the East Coast at first (logically, to be able to concentrate resources in a smaller geographical area for start-up). I have not heard if they plan to spread further across the US or North America before the European launch, or after, or simultaneous. But it makes sense to launch in a limited area and to be able to bring additional resources to that area for training in preparation for a subsequent push into a new market area.
Before stating as fact that the EU launch is gone, maybe you should call or write to Mr. McNally and ask for any status updates regarding that topic. He is known to (occasionally) return phone calls and emails. Without any form of substantiation for the EU claim, it would appear to be false information. And we know there is NEVER any of that on this board!

What’s the problem here????
If Titan had enough cash on hand to get to the end of December, folks here would be complaining that we don't even have enough cash to get into 2020. No matter how good a piece of news is, there is a way to interpret it in a negative fashion - glass half full or half empty? It could be a 5 gallon glass half full of Walker Blue and folks here would still bitch about it being half empty.
"We're down to our last two-and-a-half gallons of Walker Blue. Life Sucks."
Message in reply to:
According to Randall they have enough to get into Q3. We’re into Q2. Unless they raise more funds this is the last full quarter they are funded through.
I must disagree... I hope the whiners and complainers make a fortune. If they do, while having sat on the sidelines while such bargain prices have been on the offer, it means we exploded like we should, and they got caught with their proverbial pants down. Those of us who continue to hold and continue to load up more whenever we have available funds should be in much better shape than said complainers. If they lose it all, we all lose it all. If they make a fortune, we optimists stand to do that much better!
However, I certainly agree with your closing statement - BUY NOW!
Message in reply to:
i for one laugh at the complainers and hope they lose it all. Usually the case. i really hope the ones on this board who complain lose it all.

Why all these invalid comparisons?
Trixie never had a new product. They bought a 5 year old Italian product which sold 2 or 3 units over 5 years in Europe. Wasn't new, and even when it was developed it offered a worse solution than was already available through ISRG. CE marked in 2011, offered for sale early 2012... How many Senhace systems on the planet now? Maybe a dozen? Cannot validly compare to revolutionary new hardware, 2019 state-of-the-art technology with smaller pricetag than the competition (ISRG) and smaller footprint than anyone else, with a different target market (smaller organizations which can't afford da Vinci) and hospitals that are sick and tired of ISRG's business practices (which is most of their customer base).
Comparing to drug approvals is further from valid. New drugs come on the market to offer a patient a chance at a better life than is otherwise available - often the difference between life and death itself. SPORT or da Vinci? They do things which could be done open or laparoscopically; nobody's going to die if SPORT doesn't make it to the market.
Comparing to a high school restaurant job? Should I try to draw analogies to my old paper route? Get a grip!
Just think... After tomorrow, we can guarantee that our price won't slip any further for at least three days!
Nice! But more to the story, I hope.
Thursday, Mr. McNally gets ten minutes to talk Titan.
Friday, for a half hour, Innovation of new robotic platforms and taking them to market, the challenges Presented by Fred Moll. Should be a broad range topic, not just one robot (or it would say so, like the Titan presentation).
After Moll, Dr. Vipul Patel shares a 20 minute time slot.
A little later, Sachin Sankholkar is panelist on Building New Robots discussion.
Sunday, Colorectal Update Presented by Eduardo Parra-Davila
Dr. Patel chairs another discussion later Sunday.
I guess Saturday they all get to go play with the Mouse.

Then you should have no concerns about them repricing options. Nobody wants the plague even if it is available at a discount.
And I could take the same view of ALL my IRA and 401K contributions. Those are for the future, just like my Titan investments. Until I can withdraw penalty-free, I'm not touching them, so it's like I completely lost that money for now. I'm planning for my future, and there are ups and downs to deal with. So be it. I choose to focus on the ups, and I'll let the pessimists among us focus on the downs so they can live a miserable, dour existence while I smile my way through the day!
So cheer up! No matter how much you hate me and Titan now, you will eventually reap the benefits too.

Optimism and enthusiasm has only lead to massive loses for investors.
Reality is all that matters and the reality is MacNally and the insiders avoiding this stock like the plague!!
Thanks BigT! Hopefully our optimism and enthusiasm rings true with a silent majority here...
As for the others - Like Mitt Romney once indicated, there are some people that we just don't care about because we can never influence them. And when we are all sitting on substantial rewards for our investment, they will probably claim they never said a negative word.
I have no obligation to answer your questions. I cannot post anything that you won't try to argue about, regardless of the scope or sentiment of the statement.
As for your contradiction, go back and read...
"The reality is this is going to be a SLOW sales ramp up.
A number of centers will buy this out of the gate..."
Consecutive sentences, no less.
Slow sales ramp, or a number of centers will buy this out of the gate? Which is it?
I think it's about the technology. How many indications is Senhance approved for? And how many systems have they sold, over what period of time?
I think additional indications will come very quickly; potential buyers will know that other indications have already been conducted under the IDE and surgeon feedback will be publicized by then.
I believe the speed of the sales ramp-up will be determined by Titan management, with willing buyers awaiting their turn in line. They will optimize the roll out with consideration to system availability, staffing and training, and customer needs. There will be places that are happy to start with Hyst and have their foot in the door when other indications are approved.
Of course funding will be needed, but as the program progresses through this year's milestones (and especially with initial FDA approval) share price will allow for any raises, if needed, to be substantially less dilutive.
And you should be more careful not to contradict yourself like that.
Message in reply to:
You should listen to the last conference call. MacNally said one of our predicate devices is non robotic...
Do you seriously think hospital administrators are going to buy this HOPING it gets approved for more indications? The reality is this is going to be a SLOW sales ramp up.
A number of centers will buy this out of the gate but it’s gonna take a lot of funding to keep this afloat.
Of course there can be an early buyout if approved. I think that’s why MacNally getting those low options so he can cut and run.
Lots of chatter about concerns with launching with Hyst only... both in regard to sales potential and company value.
Please consider that a system that has ONE indication - lung biopsy - just sold for billions of dollars. That's enough to make a lot of investors happy, if we went for the same price as Auris (personally, I want more and think Titan is worth more).
This alone should address concerns about both issues, but we also have a predicate device showing how easily our technology will expand to a plethora of additional indications, and any organization interested in buying a robotic surgical system will be keenly aware of this.
I know, the counter-argument will be that we don't have FDA approval... Not worried about that either; the schedule is known; they are working closely with the FDA to prevent any surprises, and the predicate device will help ensure smooth sailing to approval. And I'm not expecting Titan to be sold next week; we can wait for approval.
No worries!
Sometimes it's just someone who wants to help but doesn't want to throw his sources under the bus. It's up to each of us to decide who we want to trust and who we don't.
