Universal Studios on Monday, World Center of Excellent Manufacturing (or whatever it is called) on Tuesday. I will be there and hope to see something that keeps me in this stock.
If you have not read Flash Boys by Michael Lewis yet you should pick it up and give it a read. Touches on some of the stuff you are talking about. Actually, anything I've read by him is really good.
I just registered. Looking forward to seeing this machine in action.
Could it be things are about to take off and they are taking the opportunity to raise more capital? I can't see them diluting the stock all the way back down to $.10 again. Don't they still have options at $.29 that they need to exercise? If we are going to see dilution again I hope it's well over the $.29 options that they awarded themselves.
I might make the trip too. Do we need an appointment or a reservation for the open house on Tuesday?
I agree. When I first heard it I thought of the Raiders' slogan Commitment to Excellence. I guess it is fitting if it turns out we are in for another long season.
Did I hear him say the machine was there up and running and I can go see it in October?
Unless they make a medical device or another non CE product.
Can anyone give me some info on the Swatch agreement. Found the 10Q stating that " The license agreement with Swatch will expire on the expiration date of the last licensed patent".
http://biz.yahoo.com/e/131108/lqmt10-q.html
My question is which patent. Is it a patent for the process or for a specific material? Is it for all the patents? Does it cover the newer patents that were published after the agreement?
Still think a high-end Liquidmetal watch is coming and I am curious on how to get around the agreement. Could be if they call it a medical device you can get around paying swatch and pay us instead. Biometric screening for company insurance plans is a growing trend and I can see Apple getting into this field with their Healthkit. Who knows.
Any thoughts and info are appreciated.
Sell some shares and we get a dollar bump in the price target. Sell all the shares and it's to infinity and beyond!
I agree with you. I think the watch will be first. I'm curious if it is going to be more like a traditional watch than a CE device. A guy on Bloomberg this morning was saying the high end watch makers are basically "printing money" and Apple can get their share. How would Apple get around the Swatch agreement if this is true?
As much as I would love the price bump when it happens, I still want to see where the revenue will come from.
iWatch 2 jobs maybe
The Wall Street cheat sheet trended on yahoo news feed last night. Link was already posted.
Yahoo pump from last night.
Wondering if Apple has already worked out a deal with swatch to use Liquidmetal in the iwatch. If swatch gets paid from Apple for the rights to use it in a watch wouldn't revenue trickle down to Liquidmetal?
Did anyone else get the Liquidmetal weekly summary a day early? Is there a holiday I forgot about?
Come on watts, I would never recommend to anyone to buy anything. Just some speculation for some fun. Just a thought for those that are waiting for Apple to do their thing.
Apple has scheduled "open hours" today 2-4 to close out the WWDC. Would be a great time to show us one more thing. Liquidmetal watch maybe?
Think they wanted it below 100 and a number that divided into the new dividend amount.
Looks like the app display for iPhone.
Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. It was this patent that made me wonder if it was possible.

I think you are right about the sapphire but I think the price point is going to be a lot higher.
Do you mean "fictional"? Lol
I still think we may see something from Apple at the end of WWDC. Tim Cook needs to deliver on new products this year and I think he will have his "one more thing moment". I believe and hope that it will be a Liquidmetal health monitor/watch.
I think that Apple's stock splitting at around the end of the conference could be a sign that a big reveal may come. Just a guess. Everyone knows those health apps in the new iOS software is not going to be for third party devices. A big reveal after the split would send the stock from the 80's to over 100. I know returning value to shareholders is weird and we are not used to it, but it happens
Never received a answer to my question to the board about the about the ability of Liquidmetal to be wrapped around a wrist and return to an original rigid form. I was thinking that if you can imagine a longer, skinny iPod nano bending around the wrist and clasping it together. Would elastic properties of the metal allow for this?
Thanks, Thoand
I can only hope there are bigger things in play right now. While on the surface it doesn't seems like the best deal, there is a small comfort in knowing that an Apple lawyer was helping with the settlement. If that is the case (I haven't had the time for the DD yet), it does seem like Apple is pulling the strings.
Hope it doesn't take that long! Was it Steipp who said this stock was more suited for a young man? If we're looking at this kind of timeline he should have said it was more suited for our grandchildren. lol
Thanks Watts. I know I was reaching but I was hoping for something that could give us hope for some upside. Growing tired of waiting I don't know how you've done it. My three years in this stock is nothing compared to others but I feel that if it doesn't happen this year it's not going to happen
Watts,
Do you know if the Consumer Electronics agreement would cover parts for such devices? For example, I'm curious if the manifold piece that Anax suggested awhile back would be covered.
http://www.techinsighter.com/blog/2014/1/29/apple-will-use-liquidmetal-for-manifold-reasons
While it could be in a CE device, the part itself is not a CE device.
They reason I've been thinking of this is because I know many of us are trying to put a value on this company after Apple uses LQMT in a product. Like others I feel we can go to a dollar when it happens. They reason being (and please excuse my overly simple evaluation) is that Dr. Peker has said that it would take Apple 300 to 500 million to get the technology to where they can use it.
http://www.businessinsider.com/liquidmetal-inventor-atakan-peker-apple-will-use-it-in-a-breakthrough-product-2012-5
Now someone posted that we have 435 million shares out there and maybe more down the road. My thoughts are that if Apple has 500 million invested in the same IP that they share with LQMT for CE products, that IP for everything else should be worth the same if not more. So when Apple proves you can produce with the stuff in large amount for the right price there could be some buyers. A buck a share or 500 million does not seem out of the realm of possibility.
Now getting back to my question about the CE agreement. Let's say Samsung wants to know and have the same patents as Apple. They could try and buy LQMT knowing about the CE agreement and argue the same thing I'm asking. Does the part in a device make it a CE device? Hell, they could just make the device and go to court and lose and still get over on Apple.
How does LQMT get to 3 bucks? Samsung offers 2 bucks a share, Apple says, "Screw you, we bought them for 3". Samsung laughs and says, "Made you buy them!" Longs laugh too all the way to the bank. Dream over.
Seriously, without me going over that agreement can anyone tell me if parts are covered or is it vague and open to some interpretation. Thanks. Thoand
This might be wishful thinking but could management have sold knowing the pps would dump only to use the proceeds to get back in at a lower price? Would not surprise me one bit. At some point they think .29 is going to be a bargain or they wouldn't granted options at that price.
I was wondering if someone could tell me if the elasticity of LM would allow for it to wrap around the wrist and return to its original form. I'm just curious as to how Apple would make this patent happen. I'm assuming this thing will be waterproof.

http://m.cultofmac.com/cultofmac/#!/entry/apple-takes-delivery-of-flexible-circuit-boards-for-iwatch-rumor,534520bce56d0bb853594d01
I know... old news. I feel like Apple is going to make this product happen first before we see any real effort to market LM in other areas. It would be a new and different product line that Peker thought Apple would initially use it for and does fit his timeline.
Please don't bash about no revenue from Apple. I know, and everyone on the board who rarely post knows too. Thanks in advance.
Materion beryllium operations?
Thanks Watts. I do appreciate the time and effort you and others put into your posts. Hope you feel your time was well spent at the show.
What looks to be an emerald screen may just be a reflection from the machine.
Got on the call late. Did anyone ask if the turnkey machine was going to be demonstrated at the Engel event?
Laughed so hard Kool-Aid came out my nose.
Economic adrenaline shot the area really needs. Land and housing are at historic lows allowing the government a savings on that alone. It will bring some jobs the area sorely needs. I think it is a good idea.
I thought the same thing. I read somewhere that Jabil was a producer of the shell for the 5c.
Thanks honors,
I think I read an article about them producing some of the 5s shells as well as the 5c. I was wondering if they are using an Engel machine for the production of the 5c? My first thoughts were that the poor forecast for Jabil could mean that Apple might be switching to the Engel/LQMT machine. Them I thought if Jabil was already using Engel wouldn't they be one the first to convert their machines over for LQMT?
No worries on Apple, wish I could buy some more. Long Apple and LQMT.
Great stuff Anax, thanks a bunch for the info.
Can anyone give me info on what Jabil makes for Apple? Found this in an article:
"Separately, Jabil Circuit, which makes moldings and metal for Apple's iPhones, provided much weaker than expected guidance for its second quarter. That led Citigroup analyst Glen Yeung to speculate that Jabil's poor guidance could reflect negatively on Apple's forthcoming March quarter.
Apple reportedly accounts for about half of Jabil's diversified manufacturing seres business, and Yeung believes a poorer-than-expected outlook could suggest iPhone sales may come in below market expectations of 42 million units for the quarter."
I know it's wishful thinking but, could the poor guidance be to a liquidmetal related?
Any thoughts on this is greatly appreciated.
I do think it is possible that If any machines are being made right now they are being made for Apple. When Apple finally green lights a LQMT product Engel will be focused on that roll out. We all know Apple keeps a tight lid on everything, so it is possible were not going to see any PR from Engel until a successful Apple launch.
I still do think Apple could buy LQMT. The non-CE revenue could be huge for the small relative small amount that they would pay. While they are at it they should buy Materion too. If you want to be the next GE you have to be in other sectors.
Just called LQMT. Talked to a guy named Dennis and asked if they were participating in Engel's West Coast open house. He responded by saying he knew nothing about it but said we was not the one working with Engel.
Don't know if it is this guy.
Dennis Ogawa - Vice President Industrial Relations
If it was, it doesn't leave me feeling too good. How do you not know about a major partner having an open house 50 minutes from your door step?
