Dump question but what/when is the "wash"?
Strengthening US dollar could put pressure on gold. For how long?
No point in being "grateful" for a PR (imo). They should have been making more progress and reporting on it all along.
I think this might help with the second sourcing issues but companies will have to license from LQMT and buy their own retrofits, equipment, etc. which takes time and money before it could get to significant revenues, etc.
I guess resistance at 44.25 doesn't count since nugt sliced through it yesterday as potential support.
You seem to be right on. Thanks!
You have more experience than I do.Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
it seems like gdx/nugt has been acting more like /es than /gc; acting more like am equity than close correlation with gold on a 15 minute chart at least ( today).
36.5 - 38.7
( thanks for your replies....I realize it sounds like alot of questions)
Support and Resistance levels with some consideration for decay makes sense to me for NUGT.
Also, 15 m ute charts are the ones I should have been paying attention to today (my 46's n NUGT took a dive I could have prevented using simple moving averages in 15 mi ute timeframe).
options on derivatives would blow my mind on 3x ETFs in this environment but I hear some promoting LEAPS.
Another ponder:
GLD has put/call ratio > 1
Whereas NUGT and DUST have put/call ratios < 1
( DUST around .88, NUGT < .5)
Mean anything to you?
Are you of the camp that GDX could test June lows and that could bring NUGT down another 10-15% ... Seems like a possibility.
Do you have a prediction for the day the govt settles? E.g. Equities bounce (but that doesn't necessarily include GDX/NUGT).
Open interest on NUGT call options points to a climb in NUGT toward 80 in Dec ( this may mot be exact....could have changed since I last looked at it).
Do you see open interest ( where it's the greatest ) as somewhat reliable as an indicator? And/or "Commitment of Traders" ( a prior poster posted a link to it for gold).
Are you saying prices will go higher or lower from here?...what is the reason? ... It's not clear to me what your position is here...
i noticed Buffington was selling Energy MLM on linkedin.
CORRECTION| different Larry Buffington
That's a great list. Wonder why the BD/sales group can't seize it. It sounds like the accounts they approached were maybe too big ( requires second sourcing; a stumbling block).
little doggie for being the dog house; need a LM robot dog.
The trick then is in being able to catch it before it hits bottom, lol.
Steipp is way too smooth to allow this (the blues) to be happening. There's gotta be something happening going on behind the curtain (drone applications?).....dilution first most likely.
We're glad we stopped sipping the LQMT koolaide. It's kind of intriguing to watch their next move tough. Someone could make a movie about the "marvels" and "natural wonders" that might even make for interesting mystery novel, "forever", lol.
L Edelson really missed the call on Oct3 forecast. He pegged a gold miner, SA, as having great future potential and it has dropped to half of it's recent high. If it's a good stock with potential, it's at least 100% potential when gold, etc., starts to move again.
They aren't into disclosure hardly at all. If Steipp were looking to grow the company to re-list on Nasdaq, etc., he would recognize the importance of establishing credibility in the way of demonstrating a good faith effort to disclose appropriate information to general shareholders now.
To me the last CC was an insult to general shareholders. If they have a bird in the hand (inside trades, etc.), they sure as heck don't care about general shareholder interest enough to talk about developments (any developments!)
For example, if Vmatter was a licensee and running into problems because they can't repay debt (whatever their terms are?), LQMT could have at least mentioned it in credible terms, e.g.
"..... We have a licensee that has successfully introduced ...... That is currently on hold pending resolution of their financial arrangement...." (end of story ... Business is business even if on hold...they could have at least mentioned the arrangement to promote their own interest).
meant "now" ( on an iPad ). Does anyone know the criteria for when and why CS does R/S on NUGT & DUGT?
Mow that nugt is below it's low, what's next? A R/S?
Someone mentioned (maybe it was you?) that Vmatter had a license, but hasn't repaid debt, so....maybe they put a hold on it.
It sounds like another issue for LQMT that is dragging them down. This company seems o have a lot of "baggage".
Some commentators (CNBC, Fast Money) and posters here, think that the longer the shut down, the less GDP, the greater the chance of easing, and the less tapering, and that will make gold rise coming out of the shut down. Wondering when that could start if it goes that way.
Agree. And if VPC isn't seen as "precision" enough (referred to by other posters), MTRN might not want them either, e.g. VPC.
Re: MTRN post referring to who has the "moxie."
It seems to me that neither side has moxie because the schedule is driven by one working primarily with govt. related business (that could be delayed due to their own schedule, and also current limitations of LM process that will take more time to advance and improve with reference to LM opportunity).
If AAPL is what is driving the opportunity and MTRN expects to capitalize on it, re: yama post, maybe that's what is driving optimism; but that has nothing to do with who has the "moxie" in our view. It sounds like Steipp et al has been baby sitting AAPL for awhile.
Seems over dramatized, e.g. "On the cusp"
If it breaks the recent pivot low, down from there.
A way to play it; set stop limit order above recent pivot highs that executes at the beginning of a pump after a little movement but not the full run, and high enough that the sideways action doesn't activate it. It's been sliding down now for awhile.
Re: CEOs....don't trust one that doesn't understand how to interpret earnings. We aren't referring to Steipp.
I agree, but a company can come out of it with a plan and demonstration that they can execute on it. Not sure about this one though. It's "sounded" good at times, but no delivery on promise; at least not yet.
If they come out with the same "on the cusp" interviews....won't look good;they need a more convincing message to deliver to shareholders. We'll see, right.
"Something solid" would be the announcement of a substantial contract or a better negotiated license (than previous ones) that demonstrates that they have the ability to secure ongoing business benefit vs. exclusive (which is too restrictive) and limited financial benefit (like with AAPL).
Consider attending the next quarterly earnings CC (early/mid Nov) and asking informed questions).
They got the message on suggestion to use a new indicator, e.g. new licenses (any type, hopefully production oriented), T measure progress. We'll see if they respond via next CC.
FYI: if you have suggestions, you can use the contact form at their website and they will acknowledge receipt.
The SEC website has a tutorial on how to read financial statements. If the earnings are negative, it's not a profitable enterprise.
Investing without understanding how to read financial statements is risky business.
