re Uranium:
After a week treading water, on Friday Trade Tech apparently raised its announced spot price for uranium to $95/lb.

Thanks very much for the information. I will go to stockcharts and have a look.
Seemed to me that the volume was good today for this stock, and that it might be poised to take another run to the upside.

Daily volume:
Anyone have an idea what average daily volume is for this stock? How does volume today compare?
Thanks.

This is the first article I have seen in which it is projected that Uranium supply will catch up with demand in 2008.

Filed 10-K, reporting $2.21 net income per diluted share from ongoing operations for 2006. Not bad for a stock that closed at $6.58.

re Uranium:
Apparently UxC put the spot price at $91/lb. today.
A few weeks ago I predicted we would get to $100/lb. by the middle of the year. It is beginning to look like we will take it out by the end of this month.
Steve
koz:
I am at almost exactly 20%. Originally, my plan was to commit 10%. But the U stocks have done well (and some other things have not!), and I added to SXR and UMN holdings during the recent selloff.
I think U will be the story of the decade, and have no intention of selling anything. I did sell CCJ after the Cigar Lake mess, but only to buy other U stocks. Incidentally, FWIW I think CCJ is the best "value" right now in the U sector, but it is out of favor, and in the near term other U stocks will do better. So, I have tried to follow the herd.
I expect the U sector to outperform most everything for the forseeable future, and so, unless something else I own does extremely well, I expect the 20% figure to increase by the extent of U's outperformance.

re Uranium:
On Friday, Trade Tech reported the spot price of uranium at $90/lb., another $5 increase, influenced by ERA's exercise of the force majeure clause in its contracts by reason of flooding at its Ranger operation:

re Uranium:
PR re ERA.asx (Energy Resources of Australia)-- delay in production. Not good news for ERA.asx, but probably good news for other Uranium stocks, as in the near term this can be expected to contribute to upward pressure on spot prices:
"ERA declares force majeure after heavy rains
16:29, Wednesday, 7 March 2007
Sydney - Wednesday - March 7: (RWE Australian Business News) - A
tropical low-pressure system which led to the formation of cyclone George resulted in almost 850 millimetres of rain falling over EnergyResources of Australia Ltd's (ASX code: ERA) Ranger operation in the seven days to March 4. In one 72-hour period alone, a total of 750 millimetres fell. The area has received 1600 millimetres to date this year, which is above the total annual average rainfall.
ERA has declared force majeure on its sales contracts as a
result of the effect of the rainfall on production at the Ranger mineand processing plant. As advised on March 1, mining operations ceased on February 27, as is normal practice during high rainfall, and the plant was shut down in a planned manner on February 28.
The mine has restarted operations today and the processing plant
is expected to restart within the next week. First-quarter production is estimated to be between 20 and 30 per cent lower than in the corresponding period last year. The impact of the water level in the operating pit is still being assessed but production will be hit in the second half of 2007.
In spite of the high rainfall, water inventories at the mine
site have been managed effectively and there has been no adverse
environmental impact. Access to and from the Ranger mine and the nearby township of Jabiru remains restricted by highway closures and load limitations due to the widespread flooding in the region."

re Uranium:
A reliable poster on the Uranium Exploration board reports that the UxC spot price for uranium has jumped $10/lb. to $85/lb this week. This has not been posted yet at the UxC website, but will be later tonight or tomorrow. This price may reflect the results of today's auction.
A jump this week was expected, but $10 is a big one. Should be another great day for uranium stocks tomorrow.

That explains it. I have printed the report and will read with great interest. I bought Denison about a year ago and it was dead money until the merger. However, since then it has been on a tear, and the move yesterday seemed particularly dramatic for a company that size on a day without news.
Thanks.

I am aware of the site, and go to it often. I have also found it very helpful.
I own shares in 8 uranium companies, including (for me) significant positions in SXR, DML, STM and UEX, and have been heavily committed to the sector since mid-2005. I wish everything else I invested in during the past 18 months did half as well.
Thanks.

Nice day for this stock, up 40%+. A close at .007, even if only 40,000 shares, was nice to see. I have a feeling that the company will soon be announcing some additional contracts.

re Uranium:
I track 22 uranium stocks. All of them are up today with the exception of Purepoint, a stock whose rise in the recent past has been so spectacular that a little profit taking is probably in order.
It may be a delayed reaction to the merger of SXR.TO and UUU.V, or it may be confirmation that UxC has reported an increase in the spot price for the recent week to the $80 number mentioned in this Sprott interview.

Among other things, apparently uranium reached $80/lb. yesterday, and $100/lb. is widely considered at this point to be a "layup" with some predictions now as high as $200. Embry is also predicting $775/oz. for gold this year.

Steve
re Uranium:
After several weeks of treading water at $72/lb., the spot price reported by UxC has increased to $75/lb. While it took time for the market to digest a jump from $65 to $72 in one week, there never was a pullback. In the 20 months that I have been following the weekly spot price for uranium it has never gone down. Pretty amazing, I think.
Unless the news at Cigar Lake is unexpectedly positive, I continue to think we are likely to see $100/lb. by the middle of the year. While the price is no doubt held aloft to a certain extent by speculative buying, the supply/demand imbalance is very real.

nsomnyiak re HMSG:
