Thank you. That is quite extraordinary!
I am thinking more like a festival for thousands!
But it all depends on how much you hold.
Very interesting discussion on the "buy at the close" topic. I was not even aware that such an option existed and now I know why it happens.
Separately, I responded this morning to today's PR on the 9/23 WAVX presentation in Santa Clara, Ca. Specifically, I requested admittance to Dr. Thibadeau's presentation before the Storage Networking Industry Association. If granted I will be able to give some feedback here to how things went.
Am curious if any other SF Bay Area WAVX investors are attempting to attend this conference.
Nicely put. Thank you.
Options are very speculative and rather arcane for most investors. I am not at all surprised by such obvious discrepancies.
The 2.50 options are very attractive for upcoming months, but only if one has a very strong belief regarding Wave's near term progress. The Oct 16, 2.50 calls are quoted as last sold at .35 (1274). This would require faith that WAVX shares will be at least 2.85 on Oct 16.
Note there are 3 times as many Oct 16 options (4974)at $5.00 with a cost of .05 bid .10 ask.
The low option numbers in play reflect the uncertainty in WAVX SP.
Again all very speculative.
Should these option numbers change dramatically to the upside, it would reflect strong investor confidence in near term WAVX SP performance.
Hartcourt is dead! Long live Hartcourt!!
You're absolutely correct! Thanks.
Over 60k shares traded in the last 5 minutes and WAVX closed near the high of the day.
For those who missed the SS Webcast today, it was all stuff that has been well covered on this board. SS did say the deal with the major car manufacturer was progressing well and that another $2.1 million payment would come to Wave before the end of this year, with the rest to follow next year.
Any good PR would be welcome.
On another subject, when do think Wave might be in a position to buy back shares... within a year perhaps?
So do I!
This is a great example of a post regarding WAVX that I regard worthwhile to pass on to my Facebook associates.
To our advantage IHUB has recognized the value of social networking and has created a simple link allowing all users to create similar connections.
I believe the WAVX story has a very strong universal appeal. The more this is broadcast, the wider becomes the knowledge of the technology and consequently shareholder appeal and share value.
I believe that we, as long term shareholders, not only have an interest in the success of the company, but also a fiduciary responsibility in promulgating this company's success. Sharing this story has not been easy over the last dozen or so years, but it is not hard today.
Hail the new guru! Hopefully the new guru will be more honest and provide better market perspectives.
This is indeed a very interesting presentation.
NTSIC = National Strategy for Trusted Identity in Cyberspace.
TSCP = Transglobal Secure Collaboration program
The TSCP is set to meet 9/14-17.
WAVX is in the middle of this process as indicated in Slide 5. The best way to view this is to open two browser windows, one for the vocal presentation and one for the slides.

When WAVX SP reached 3.6 on 6/25, the short position was between 7.5-8 mil shares. All the numbers I have seen since put the short shares consistently at around 7.5 mil. This made me wonder what the average short SP might be. By averaging the high and low SP between 6/25 and today I see 1.80 for a low and 3.6 for a high. This would give a rough estimate of 2.7 for the short average cost. My guess here is that a significant number of shorts would need to cover as SP moves past 2.70.
Contrary analysis is most welcome.
Interesting analysis.
Such a short position would be in big trouble with good news. I find it remarkable that the short position has been relatively stable at around 7.5-8 million shares since the June 25 Russell reconfiguration.
A steep rise in the number of call options is very positive in that it indicates buyers are betting on rising prices. If an increase is for put options, the bet is for a decline in share price.
I am among the buyers of WAVX call options. As noted before I like the October 2.5 calls.
This evening TD America put WAVX up 8 cents with volume up an additional 12k over the afternoon close to 330852.
Am wondering if the morning open will reflect the 1PM close or the after hours rise.
Average volume for the the last ~320 trading days has been close to 404k.
TD America online software does not seem to incorporate after hours pricing into current account values.
A jump in Thursday's opening looks possible.
I love watching streaming quotes for the list few minutes of WAVX trading. Today some 40k went across in the last 3-4 minutes pushing to a one cent positive close.
Elephant Talk Communications, Inc. (OTCBB: ETAK) (www.elephanttalk.com), an international provider of business software and services to the telecommunications and financial services industries, is in serious discussions to partner with some of the world's largest mobile network
operators (MNO's). The Netherlands-based company expects that its mobile "Telco-In-A-Box" telecom platform will be operational on at least three continents with at least five operators within the next 12 to 18 months, stated Steven van der Velden, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman.
Thanks
What would your best guess be of the number of shares remaining to be covered?
On Jun 25, the day of the Russell rebalancing, WAVX traded some 11.4 million shares. Since then WAVX has traded some 15.7 million shares. Thus most of the shorted shares have clearly been covered. It would be nice to get some good news.
I think it matters. If it is somebody with inside knowledge then we all benefit. If it is just some dumb speculator, like most of us, then it is only a good opportunity to dump what's left of old dreams.
But of course. Somehow I failed to consider them.
Do you think they will come back tomorrow with the traffic cleared?
So who do think is buying?
Be happy to join you if SP hits at least 10 cents.
I do not know but the following is at least interesting if not relevant:
Mr. Feeney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Computer Science and Operations Management from Boston College.

This board often rises as an excellent example of what has been called "swarm intelligence."
1989 Gerardo Beni and Jing Wang introduced the expression “swarm intelligence” (SI) in the context of cellular robotic systems. Marco Dorigo (b.1961) helped found the field. It describes the collective behavior of decentralized, self-organized systems, natural or artificial. The concept is employed in work on artificial intelligence.
(Econ, 8/14/10, p.65)(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swarm_intelligence)
At other times it ebbs into "swarm nonsense," for which I do not have a good reference.
All very proper IMHO for a swarm of wavoids.
Please excuse my error regarding Intel-Symantec.
Intel-McAfee was the intended subject.
I agree... but I've been wrong for the last 10 years. LOL
Right- Thanks
The Intel-McAfee nuptials need more analysis.
We have here a major confirmation for hardware based security. Intel intends to incorporate Symantec's software security into a hardware-based environment.
This is the center of the WAVX universe.
WAVX screams interoperability. Intel-Symantec does not have this. SS has an excellent opportunity here to address the Intel-Symantec marriage and its relevance to Wave.
IMHO yes.
Many posters have often commented recently on how they wish they had more funds to buy during this decline. I share this sentiment and in fact have sold other issues at a loss to take advantage of this "short term decline."
The general market has not been favorable.
Consider the enemy as gaining ground on non-strategic, undefended, empty territory.
Also note that every Wave Systems associate feels the pain of this decline. We have a very good general. News will come and the tide will turn.
My best estimate is a large majority.
LMAO. Well done. Kudos.
Sorry. Not this Wavoid!
On this board? You've gotta be kidding. LOL!
I think today's small loss on decreasing volume points to a turn around real soon. Good news would be really nice.
The Oct 2.50 calls look really cheap.
The Company generated revenue of $3.07 million in the 2010 second quarter, representing $324,127 or 12% increase compared to $2.74 million in the 2009 Second quarter.
