If you are on TD ameritrade go to the Thinkorswim platform and go to charts...when you click on "profit" charts, enter 20 year chart length of time and you will see that in February of 2000 it trade OVER $260 share.
DD you say..."The investment world if full of companies with directors who get paid good money for their reputations even when they aren't really making good decisions." Unfortunately, often times that is true
BUT,..if you did a little more Due Diligence... you would have discovered that Dr. Robb is the "Lead Director" for the Mobion Fuel Cell as a member on the Board of Directors of MKTY
...not just Wallpaper
After a little more due diligence on UltraCell...which is owned by Bren-Tonics, of Commack, NY (20 minutes from my office and the largest supplier of Lithium Batteries to the Military..here is the spoop on the tecnology:
They do not manufacture the complete fuel cell. The reason? Ultracell is really only one part of a much more complicated and cumbersome system then the simple Mobion Fuel Cell.
The "UltraCell" uses Methanol as its "fuel" but must convert it to Hydrogen. It takes the Methanol Converter in the "system" takes 20 minutes to heat up to 300 degrees (do I hear HEAT as in OVERHEATING?), before it can convert the Methanol to HYDORGEN....it then feeds the Hydrogen to a "third party" fuel cell, which then converts the hydrogen into electricity.
Among the issues for commercialization beyond New Zealand? 1. High Heat it requires (not an issue with Mobion) 2. It requires "heating up" for 20 minutes before the process begins (Mobion instantaneous chemical/electric reaction) and 3. Two step process not direct conversion of Methonal to energy (Mobion is a direct conversion process..per patents)
Finally...while it was a "Joint" U.S. and New Zealand mission the Ulracel was tested on ...it was the New Zealand Military which endorsed it...the smallest Western Military in the world, and not the U.S. Military...it was not a vicarious endorsement by U.S. Military.
ps. Would Boeing want anything on their Dreamliner what required 300 degrees to operate? What if it overheated beyond 300 degrees?...IMHO the FAA would take a very long time to look at it.
DD,s comments on Dr. Robb show ignorance of the brilliance and creative genius of the lead director of the motion fuel cell for MKTY. If he weren't a valuable contributor and resource on any Public company's or national laboratory's board he would not remain. His ignorance of Dr Robb's sharpness and sought after expertise is only trumped by his ignorance of the superior technology and simplicity of the Mobion fuel cell.
Get a better data provider...check out thinkorswim
Actually very exciting...if you did thorough research into Dr. Walter Robb and his current R&D involvement in this area...
Sometimes Competition is not Competition...but collaborators...sometimes potential suitors...or potential licensees
DD...No one is saying they are selling them, they have over 50 primary patents and 100 secondary patents on the MOBION fuel cell. They also had successful trials with U.S. Military, plus, MKTY has not announced other on-going talks, they might be having, but i believe Military application has already been proven with the Mobion.
MKTY could very well have a patent violations against Ultrcell, butUltracell tech appears to be similar but different technology, since H20 has to be added in the UltraCell, an issue with both weight and additional step in the process of converting Methanol to Electricity in a single light weight unit.
...and dead money is "opportunity lost" elsewhere...fully expect my "re-invested" VSUL I sold at .095 (30% loss) and is now a 30% gain over my average pp of VSUL at .14, to become at least .30 (a 100% gain) by end of August ... glta...
P.S. And thank you Ron for "taking care of" your close associates and not the pre-financing Shareholders, who you threw under the bus ...with your sweetheart massively diluting refinance and warrants!
Does Home Depot sell Gasoline, Diesel or Propane in containers or canisters inside their stores?...
You cannot walk into a HD with a BBQ Propane canister for refill, exchange done outside.
I am watching for re-entry..but no time soon. MGT blew it with its huge dilution, and it will be a long time before this eats through all the vulture warrants at .10 and .15. No doubt a reverse split is coming.
Perhaps after that and the dust settles and bruises heal, will I consider re-entry. Unfortunately, sometimes wealthy people do dumb things.
ps. Completely sold out at .095 and reinvested in DSNY, XXII and MKTY and now worth .19. A stock going no-where is very costly when other "pro-shareholder" companies are out there. Time IS money.
My bet would be MKTY...because of the float. ANY news that a significant end user of the Mobion fuel is in serious discussions with MKTY regarding exploring the use of its fuel cell will run this over $2 in one day...and more likely $3...IMHO...and don't forget, most of the float is held by insiders who know the potential.
ps. Not to take anything away for DSNY or XXII...but they will be neck to neck IMHO...and predict DSNY $2 by September, and XXII thereafter...
DD...raising a lot of "apparent" and "hypothetical" issues...but in the end they are not substantive, nor even credible in the real world.
Kids drinking Methanol for a high, Mobion Fuel cells polluting land fills with Methanol...etc... Really amusing.
The Mobion cell uses Methanol as its fuel...therefore in the process Methanol is converted to H2O and Co2 and the Methanol longer exists. So where is the Methanol pollution?
Bottom line...be concerned about the Lithium Ion Battery both in Aeronautics and Vehicles...overheating not only by simply operating, but also due to atmospheric temperature. That is a real issue which the regulatory authorities can no longer hide from.
Any alternative which produces H2O and Co2 as its by-product and can function in extreme heat and altitude without overheating or self igniting, should be worth its weight in gold to a company like Boeing...or General Atomic (the largest drone maker in the world) or Northrop-Grumman etc. And I am not even addressing other situations where "immediate" recharge is needed and advantageous over waiting for a battery to re-charge.
Why would anyone pay close to a hundred thousand dollars for the privilege of riding 200 miles and waiting up to 6 hours to do it again, when a 3 minute fill up of Methanol at a standard gas station can produce the same electric power without the wait or concern of finding a re-charging station and waiting?
Certainly anyone can raise an issue on any fuel being toxic when Ingested...
and ANY fuel source has to be adequately protected in a collision from combustion...so the value of raising the issue is marginal at best...
IMHO... Government Regulatory Agencies, Industry and Environmentalist will find a way to accept a fuel cell that produces H2O and CO2 as a by-product over anything out there today...
I understand they have been tested over 6,000 hours...so it would be a minimum. Really unaware of max, since not tested beyond...but 6,000 hours (250 continuous days 24 hrs a day is my calculation) ...besides being Eco-friendly
Lithium ...not
http://spectrum.ieee.org/green-tech/fuel-cells/potential-hazards-at-both-ends-of-the-lithiumion-life-cycle
In addition, Lithium Ion batteries have been identified in, besides Aeronautic Fires:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_787_Dreamliner_battery_problems
Lithium have been linked to Vehicle fires when used in Hybrids Plug-ins:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plug-n_electric_vehicle_fire_incidents
Another interesting article...Lithium intolerance to heat(causing batteries to ignite)causing fire...
How long will it be before Boeing will have to find (or the FAA to require) a "work around" for the use of Lithium Battery in ALL their aircraft?
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/probe-links-lithium-battery-dubai-ups-crash-19756868
Solid article...CEO giving it means (IMHO) that release of G2 is very very near...
Over $2 and this will fly...Nasdaq will follow and Institutional Investing will commence in earnest...IMHO
Train is leaving the station...might be the last opportunity under $2.00...dont believe we will see lower than here...esp. with EU patent expected to be finally approved mid-august.
According to CC...big boys were holding out for approval...any announcement of adoption by GOOG, YAHOO, MSFT, AAPL, FB or others with streaming video advertising needs or music/video requirements will set this free... (without even considering the huge short interest)
yes..noticed the article on Menthol cigs...could have been a boost..
ps.. I was invested and traded option in MKTY in 2000. wild ride ... made money...
MKTY, as I recall owned under 50% of Plug Power. Plug Power was financed through Detroit Edison under the leadership of Tony Early, Chairman/CEO. I dont know how or why MKTY received its interest, but I believe former GE research guys were involved in MKTY at the time and might shed some light.
MKTY rose to $260 share on the strength of its Plug Power holdings...and they sold it off to finance (to the tune of $50 million)a more advanced Fuel Cell...which became Mobion Fuel Cell...the current fuel cell technology with approx. 56 primary and over 100 secondary patents..
yes...definitely upside potential huge...only issue is whether management can perform...
I have great hopes with Dr. Walter Robb on the board...a dynamo and brilliant executive at GE. Jack Welch's go to executive. Has his own venture capital firm Vantage Capital.
Blow away resume: http://www.uniongraduatecollege.edu/uploads/Walt%20Robb.pdf
He is on the Board of Director of Celgene and others, and was Angle Investor in Celgene, Cree and others significant tech ventures...
He was recently elected to the Board of MKTY. (SEE 10Q) Incredible expertise in fuel cell technology and development.
IMHO..a magnate to attract serious fortune 500 companies who either need or can use fuel cell technology.
If he endorses MKTY technology...there has to be something big there IMHO...
MKTY...been around since 1961. Traded in 2000 for a high of $260 based upon its fuel cell investment. I owned it back then for a trade.
The parent company, MTI which is instrumentation biz, wafer instrumentation balancing and aerospace instrumentation and balancing as well as other products, has a subsidiary Mobion, the fuel cell biz.
Looking to be cash flow positive this quarter... almost $1m in bank and NO DEBT. New CEO to drive sales in the instrumentation division (bread and butter).
Mobion is the fuel cell biz and is a subsidiary of MKTY formed in I believe 2005. MKTY owns 48% with over $50 Million invested in it by MKTY. Detroit Edison (through an earlier fuel cell company) participated in this project.
Supposed to beat the pants off the Ion Battery. (it doesnt overheat or explode) Prospects for commercialization not yet made public by the company, but IMHO could be huge if adopted by one several possible users.
Mobion Fuel Cell (with hundreds of patents file and approved) is lighter than Ion, 3x the distance, runs on renewable methanol, by product H2O and CO2. need I say more? ...humm
Application of fuel cell is endless. IMHO...what would it take to support a Mobion Fuel Cell Electric car?... Just pump methanol into one pump in every gas station and you have instant nationwide distribution. And those promoting natural gas pumps are bragging that there could be 250 natural gas pumps by 2016. Methanol availability could be hundreds of thousands in a week.
The wild card is how far has testing of prototypes, if any, gone.
like to see it consolidate at 1.75 - 1.80 for rest of the week and take its next leg up middle of next week....
AHHHH.... the proverbial "DUMP" as in "PUMP & DUMP" I warned you about...
If DSNY really wants to snuff out the shorts?
...declare a "stock dividend" of .25 shares for every 1 share and the shorts will have to cover the dividend by buying more shares, plus the share price will accelerate with what would be effectively short covering...
Perhaps company could wait and do same in conjunction with up-listing and even symbol change for a triple whammy.
Least anyone forget that $2 would make DSNY eligible for up-listing on NASDAQ...
How soon???
#9 on the "PUMP AND DUMP" list: http://www.pumpsanddumps.com/
Hate to brake your bubble... but this technology was developed and already being used by closely held company..."The Bleachers",which has been rolling it out for 2 years. https://www.gobleachers.com/
Co-CEO Frank Jordan, ( http://www.linkedin.com/pub/frank-jordan/1/630/8b), who owns controlling interest, is from GoldenTree Asset Management, and formerly Wasserstein Perella, Salomon Brothers. This is Jordon's new pet project...he is worth multiples of 100's of millions...
We are talking big bucks backing this venture...not $7,000 in cash like XUII
In May "The Bleachers" raised another $1M in a private placement.
Plans for rollout into numerous venues...all of which XUII is touting...
IMHO...do not think XUII has a chance...of competing or defending against the same "proprietary" technology...exactly the same...multiple cameras at sites broadcast over the internet to subscriber, but even better, the "Subscriber" controls the camera shot on any mobile device ... pad, smart phone, computer...etc
You are absolutely right...
From Yahoo Board:
"Buyer beware....all smoke and mirrors "renting" names
This company's concept has been passed by years ago, no funding, all names "associated" are just that...stock for using names...but no substance... no funding .... no platform...just an idea, a page or two and hawking unregistered stock to little guys in "private offerings" (questionable legality) on targets (minority groups) and methods..
Stock easily manipulated here and controlled....no doubt "staged" buys to move up and another "associated" announcement...coming ...but no $ to do anything and no one stupid enough to invest...
and the beat goes on...until all the minority (real minority) investors collectively complain to FINRA and SEC that they were solicited and taken...a class action (with not money) waiting to happen...survives because no one wants to throw good after bad money to hunt these guys down."
ps. another Van pick...MKTY...all time high ....$260.00 Jan. 2000 height of the internet bubble
$4.00 March 1999 over 14 years ago...
I agree...but shorter term I am looking at $ 5 by September and $10 by years end...unless taken out.
You will find investors who have no patience for the long haul...running to the next shinny object or simply a more immediate opportunity...so they dump and run
Not a reflection of the fundamentals, but more a commentary on investment styles, time-frame and/or patience.
For those committed to XXII..a buying opportunity IMHO I am please with a 10% gain on today's purchase.... so far.
now sit back for $5-10 depending on time frame
buying opportunity....bought more at $1.00...time will reward
Beware of Celtics...king of pumps, dumps and manipulations...block him out...he is involved with the worse...
Dont forget MKTY from Van's newletter. Love the 5.2M float. June letter very revealing...think in terms of BA and problems with Deamliner/Lithium Battery, as well as Drone fuel cells.
DSNY...expecting CEO to continue his methodical plodding behind the scenes, building brick by brick, with a sudden "where did this come from" reaction by the market...
IMHO I would expect the 4th quarter to start showing serious revenues (relative to past history) based on G2 commercial launch..
I am not expecting revenue boost this quarter, since CEO mentioned in previous CC he would build a sales force. I would expect that to be done BEFORE LAUNCH...so any hint of hiring should tell us DSNY is ready for commercial launch...
Brooklyn, frankly, if you are as connected and savy as you claim, your approach on this board shows you do not have the savy to introduce DSNY to anyone, no less a heavy weight decision maker.
Bottom line...you dont know what you dont know...and you appear not to understand DSNY's sweet spot and its significance, so how well can you present DSNY to anyone?
Finally, you do not know which hedge funds/private equity ARE following and/or investing in DSNY now and which are waiting in the wings. To catagorically say Van or me or anyone else are "pumping" DSNY because we mention hedge fund/private equity buying or interest is certainly an ignorant statement.
Wondering who you think is buying...only yahoo board trolls or hub members?
I personally introduced two significant funds to DSNY and both met personally with Steve V. and both were impressed. They told me they would continue to monitor(6 months ago). Unlike you, I do have discretion and would not call them to ascertain their positions...but all I can say is that unlike your "stone wall" response...my experience has been quit the opposite.
And by the way, just this past week I introduced another fund/private equity...They seed funded ($6M) a media/advertizing concern, who understand that they could have a competitve advantage using DSNY's technology. They have also been involved with M&A deals with Yahoo and Google... but frankly, IMHO believe that those within Yahoo and Google already know of DSNY...
Perhaps the problem is not the message, but the messenger.
VAN did include VSUL....and he wasn't happy with VSUL management...if fact he was furious.... I sold out and bought XXII and DSNY before train left on them...now have equivalent to .16 on my VSUL money...
real company...no debt...positive pe....
The true distruptive technology in this area is DSNY...virtual monopoly on streaming music from major labels and video...reducing bandwidth use by 90%...
Yes...
"However, a universal ChromeID is more difficult when you suggest that the company will provide a reference sample comparative. The container of the reference sample and the container of the customer sample would have to match."
I agree...they would have to have a database accomidating the particular container...but if every object has a ID...and if it is trying to I.D. pepper in mix salt and pepper..if will ID the pepper...according to the published technology...
When you say:
Please do not make statements that do not make sense and add the disclaimer - 'just my understanding'.
"Just my understanding" means just that...I might be wrong...it was more in the form of a question...that is why I conditioned it ... why am I wrong?
So lighten up big boy...it was a simply an "understanding"...
But with that, I do believe you might not be 100% correct in your understanding and conclusions of the capablitiy of technology and its WORK AROUNDS...perhaps none of us are, since none of us have not seen its full capablities.
