IGC-India's Court Allows Reopening of Iron Ore Mines
Agence France-Presse April 18, 2013 09:50
India's top court on Thursday allowed more than 100 iron ore mines to resume operations in southern Karnataka in a major relief for resource-hungry steel mills that require the raw material.
The court accepted the report of a central government committee which recommended that mines respecting environmental regulations should be allowed to resume.
"The court has permitted resumption of operations in 117 mines subject to compliance with the terms and conditions stipulated by the empowered committee," said Phanindra Rao, a lawyer who represented the mining industry in the case.
"It is a major decision which will give a huge boost to the mining sector," Rao told AFP.
The three-judge bench of the court, however, cancelled the leases of 49 mines in the state over large-scale irregularities.
"The leases of 49 mines... stand cancelled," said Judge Ranjan Gogoi.
India's Jindal Steel welcomed the court's order, saying it had come "at a time when the steel industry was at the brink of closure due to non-availability of iron ore".
"The opening up of mines will enable raw material linkages for further investments in the steel sector," the steel giant said in a statement.
All mining activities were banned in 2011 in Karnataka -- home to some of the country's biggest deposits of iron ore -- after companies were accused of conniving with government officials to mine ore illegally.
The scam cost the state and federal exchequers $3.6 billion, a corruption ombudsman said, and state chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, accused of playing a central role, resigned after the scandal broke.
Mines in the western state of Goa were also ordered to close last year after a government-backed inquiry estimated illegal trade in iron ore had cost more than $6.0 billion over five years.
A Humam Rights Watch report released last year said mine operators in Goa and Karnataka had contaminated vital water sources for drinking and irrigation.
The repeated scandals in the mining sector have shone a light on the government's management of natural resources and the nexus of corruption that exists between regulators, politicians and business owners.
Separately on Thursday, the Supreme Court said a ban on bauxite mining in eastern Orissa state would continue for now.
The court gave three months to the local village council to decide whether a disputed mine by resources giant Vedanta should go ahead in the Niyamgiri Hills, considered sacred by its tribal population.
The project was intended to supply up to 150 million tonnes of bauxite to Vedanta Aluminium, a unit of London-listed Vedanta Resources.
The plant has been shut since late last year due to shortages of the raw material.

IGC - Ban is Lifted on India Iron Ore!
Smilin.. The Rate is Cheap!
The company is growing 298.7% a quarter based on their recent March quarter. The rate at today's price comes to 22% a year. If I was CEO, I would carry the $1.8M note the same way because it is accretive to working capital which escalates growth, which is accretive to shareholder value. If you can't see this, don't go into business anytime soon..
IGC Institutional support should improve, this company is undervalued and growing..
IGC RS is a falsity -
If you go through the company news wires, back in Jan-2013 they received a delisting letter due to non-payment of fees. The fees were then paid and the company was re-instated. The stock price was averaging 15 cents at the time, therefore the pps of the company stock is not a discerning factor for de-listing. I also emailed the company (they give it on their website), informing them of the duped Interactive Broker remarks circulating on the boards.
IGC - Your Link is Crap..
You indicate IGC is Amex, its not its NYSE. And your link is BS with nothing related to IGC.
CEDC looks primed for a Multi-day play..

REPOST: Here is what I am seeing in the report and current trading fenzy on this puppy.
a. note in the press release the mention of "furloughed production staff". Well that means the factory is in mothballs. no production going on. He is only selling old resins out of warehouses scattered wherever. So big deal if they sold $500,000. How much are they still sitting on? Also, make note of they have not "recovered" the majority of the unpaid for resins, worth, on the books in 2011, millions of dollars....
b. Yes, what discounts is he selling at? Safe bet nothing is being sold at "list" price
c. What are overhead costs doing?? The interest expense right now has to be killing them on all the "capital" infusions. The 500K probably just covers financing and legal expenses.
d. Forget about all the algae talk. Kimberly Clarke owns the basic patents and owns that area. Freddie talks algae. KC owns it.
e. Stock volume is simply the "investors" doing program trading to make their "investment" back, nothing more. The current board hype is all generated by either paid spammers from the folks holding the notes, trying to create a market for the program trading, or Freddie himself. In any event, they are on someones payroll, to hype this.
f) Major user of Cereplast resins, Genpak announced earlier this week the discontinuing of their "Harvest" line of food packaging products which used Cerp resins... Hmmm no mention of that from Freddie.
g) the PR talked about all the resins parked around Europe. What was this tidbit about Malta having resins there?? Never any mention before on that one... And at what expense to move it anywhere else? Malta is a little island, logistics would be expensive.
h) look at the stock price the last 2 years. One direction. DOWN. How the same management "team" can turn that around is beyond me. Funny side point. If you look at MBLX over the same time period, their stock has trended the same way, and with very similar types of "updates" from the CEO. But others are doing well in the sector. I.E. less hype, more action. Think BASF, Novamount, Natureworks etc.
I) The announcement of the new agreeement to pay off creditors, does nothing but kick the can down the road on judgement day for paying off the loaned funds, nothing more. Plus, it adds to interest expenses for the company who has no sales, no production, etc. Freddie and crew are not even scheduled to show up at a big Bioplastic conference in Vegas soon. They have no money.
Nothing has changed here. Just the 'programmed" hype.
CERP Goes back to 1c Monday.. Beware, traders cashing in for wkend! Don't get caught holding this toxic bag of non-production waste.. Company in process of diluting shareholders for interest on debt payments!
How much in toxic debt or dilution? Hahaa!

So Briboy, You're a Teacher...
Kudos to anyone willing to walk into a modern-day high school, I wouldn't perform that job at any pay!
Anyway, on the high school cheating -- I actually attended high school where instructors approved it, determining that cheating on HS tests was an acceptable form of learning. We were told to come to class with 'cheat sheets' that we should read off of during the exams. Another form of 'cheating' I suppose would be the 'open book' exams. The theory was the same, the more time we spent going over the material, the more we learned. I think some of this thinking still persists today is all.
I think it's practically impossible in this day and age not to know right from wrong by the time we reach high school. Maybe the kids were just trying to shock you?
Your logic concerning how complex the world is therefore there must be a God escapes me. Likewise, your thinking over whether Jesus is real or a lunatic doesn't stream either.
As for the books of the Bible, there are many that were not accepted by the Early church, here is a list of 28 of those books.. http://www.bibleufo.com/anomlostbooks1.htm . The early churches had plenty of time to decide which ones they wanted included in the King James version, and there were a multitude of authors. This is why I do believe there was a man called Jesus, but as for the rest of the story, there are just too many contradictions and scientific evidence to be plausible.
I'll check back tomorrow evening, my days are extra busy during tax season, particulary since the govt is handing out rebate checks in early May - so I have more people unwilling to extend.
Hi Again, Randy....
Wow,not sure where to start with this, except you're a very interesting person to discuss this with.
Evolution isn't the center of my universe at all, but reflects what is, that being causal relationships from logical reasoning. This is simply how one naturally explores their world. It leads to verifiable truths and an un-biased knowledge of the unknown.
Let's say there was no Bible or man named Jesus. According to you, we would all be immoral, selfish and miserable without law or even individual rights. My response would be that it is in our self-interest to be law abiding and moral, it's only common sense to treat others as we would want to be treated. We were around long before Jesus came around, and apparently hadn't died out killing each other.
From an evolutionary viewpoint we're here because we survived. Survival of the fittest is a necessary law of life. Allowing the weak to breed will only prove disastrous to ours or any species. Survival should not be confused with morality, as they are distinctly different.
Thanks for the links, Veritas...
But I have a problem investigating anything with an obvious bias to protect or dispute. Real learning only occurs with an open mind. Some of your links were insightful though, and I appreciate that.
Hello Pastor Randy, I'm Jean...
I'm not a faithless person, just not inclined to put much faith into dogmatic religions. I say they're dogmatic since there isn't much to any of them which make logical sense to me. Besides, there is so much contradiction in any of the published testaments from one book to another as well as one religion to another. In my world, there is nothing more beautiful than the logical sequencing of reason.
Believe it or not I'm a tax accountant, but studied pre-med as an undergrad, so I have a love for the scientific method of truth seeking, and I've always been a truth-seeker. Even taxes are easier to understand and reason with than faith-based religion. I can see why certain tax rules exist, to what end they function in our system, and what the next logical rule to come into play will be, as tax law makes sense to me, even though politics plays a major role. Politics is a dual study in sociology and greed, so it too has a naturally logical harmony.
I believe I have a true sense of identity, it doesn't bother me to have evolved from the apes as it seems to most theists. What I cannot identify with is incongruity, things are true only when they follow a logical pattern - religion offers nothing of logic or natural patterns, other than someone's psychological need for a parent figure in their lives. Do this -- Don't do that -- And, don't ask why, It is because I said it is, etc.
Btw, college texts are not fraud, if you're referring to the Phylogeny I posted, I wasn't inferring that human embryos go through the evolutionary cycle, they don't, they only hint of it in each species. A human embryo is a human from conception, even if years and years ago we arose in a primordial sea as a primordial life form with only the promise of humanity on the horizon.
Evolutionary Theories...
All facts relating to how we got to be what we are, begins with theories. That's why understanding evolution is so basic to understanding the truth. It's because we change and adapt that new possibilities occur, these same combinations were at one time responsible for the first lifeforms, albeit even if inorganic at the time. Haphazard combinations occur continuously everywhere, in higher organisms this takes on the identity of genetic mutation. Those mutations which fit the environment succeed, those which do not die out. So natural selection is nothing more than a test of varying results from haphazard genetic disturbances.
In any event, it has been absolutely proven that we evolved from primates. We have the original 48 chromosomes that identify a primate with a fused C #2 we know was once 2 separate chromosomes. Hence, the human animal with 46 chromosomes is the result of a haphazard genetic disturbance to our primate ancestors.
Ragin, You Didn't Get it..
What he was saying was we once had 48 chromosomes (24 pairs) just like the primates do. Our C #2 is a fused chromosone (gene pair), and they have proven that as well as able to give the precise sequence and location of that pair. Therefore we are not unique with 46 chromosomes, we initially had the same 48 that primates still have.
