Good news. Looks like Cadence is a good basic company to do development and production (getting in on the ground floor of surgical robotics) without entrapping Titan into big-name established suppliers who would probably end up ripping them off.
Wonder if Cadence has been hiring-up for experts in more complex parts and production.
Yea; it makes you think who signs off on this BS and expects or wants people to read it and believe it. Are they trying to fool people, really? Really??
Or are they just too stupid or careless to realize it is complete bull.
These clowns scare me sometimes. Still L&S but holy sh*t give us a break Titan. Don't tell me you are a performance investment. You are CRAP so far.
The performance info is unneeded BS. Tell the current situation or don't, but don't BS people.
Yea, but read their management team credentials. Some real engineers and entrepreneurs.
They want to make money and they see the product space. What do Reiza, Fowler, and Hargrove want? They have noble intentions but they don't have all the f'ing time in the world. Doctors are never in a hurry and Hargrove is too old for this. And Reiza, who the hell knows?
IMO it is because only the well-informed in this investment sector really even notice the news. They jump on it early, pps rises, but no one else cares. Then the pps just settles down a bit.
Titan has made no announcements or has gotten press that puts them on the map yet. Hard to believe, I think, but what else could it be?
An update on the CSO of the entity Platform Engineering. Does sound like he's still in the game.

Next Generation Surgical Robotics and Deformable Object Recognition & Manipulation
Abstract: Single-port and NOTES surgery are emerging as important new thrusts in minimally invasive medicine. Both of these models require a new generation of robotic devices, sensors, controls and interfaces. In this talk, we first present an in-vivo stereoscopic camera system that can serve as the imaging component of such a platform. The system is equipped with pan/tilt axes and can be inserted through a single incision and mounted on the inside of the body. Second, we have built an Insertable Robotic Effector Platform (IREP) that combines the imaging device with two continuum robot snake-like arms, creating a single port robotic surgery platform. Finally, we will describe a Surgical Structured Light (SSL) system that can recover 3D models of in-vivo anatomy using standard laparoscopes. We will present results from ex-vivo, animal, and human experiments.
We will also present some recent work from our lab on an end-to-end robotic system that can be used to recognize, unfold, place flat, iron, and fold deformable objects such as shirts and pants. The system is based on predictive thin-shell models in simulation to understand the properties of physical clothing, and is shown to work on a variety of different garments.
Biography: Peter Allen is Professor of Computer Science at Columbia University where he heads the Columbia Robotics Laboratory. He received the A.B. degree from Brown University in Mathematics-Economics, the M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Oregon and the Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was the recipient of the CBS Foundation Fellowship, Army Research Office fellowship and the Rubinoff Award for innovative uses of computers. His current research interests include robotic grasping, 3-D vision and modeling, and medical robotics.
When Titan makes a deal or says they made an agreement with another company without any real contract, I've always wondered if they need to announce to us if they've dropped the deal or agreement.
I suspect they've thrown us a few PR tidbits of that type that have never amounted to anything.
Agreed. Arrogant righteous doctor, inept lying CEO way over his pay grade, and an absent genius? or whatever he is (the dark man of mystery). IP coming from a talented group but of mysterious origin and allegiance. Silent and strange company of a Wall Street advisor chick with nice clothes. Obscure Canadian Exchange. Piss poor PR for years. And who can forget Platform Engineering??!!
What the hell did we expect?
Man, I have NO reason to believe that will ever be their style. It better just be a product that is good because these guys are CLUELESS when it comes to self-promotion.
Agree. Great news, but if not disseminated into the popular investment press, it can't do too much to move pps. I think we might see a lag of a few days, then someone else will pick up on the PR.
Well with a post like that your credibility is gone. This news is important. To some people the successful "use" of a cadaver could almost be taken as a point of ridicule. It attests to the quality of this board that we understand the importance, seriousness, and sacrifice to build this product. Good luck to all longs.
I'd like to believe someone technical from Titan is actually spending time at the Ximedica site, in addition to Fowler. We don't actually know anyone from Titan that is technical, except the names on the IP, do we?
Or, like any endeavor of this complexity, there were unanticipated delays due to technical issues, production delays, etc..
You know the answer Honey. THEY DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT!
I still think they have the goods to make an initial splash in the market, if they can keep to the general timeline, and not get beaten out by another player in the meantime. So far, it still looks like they are leading the race, except for the Alf-X, which I don't think will take off in its current form.
Hopefully within the next year we will see steady appreciation, but hopes for a major score with this stock for me have completely come down to earth. I'd be happy if they just sold out and I could make a few times my initial investment.
I think stockholders have been completely neglected in this company. Obviously, management's philosophy has been place your bets and shut up. Unfortunately, that makes it a very frustrating ride.
TITXF will be no 2nd version of ISRG story, that's for damn sure with the crew in charge.
Got the email. Just wish they were sitting on more cash. Not the time to be skimping on spending.
I find it unbelievable that they would/could remain uninterested in the banter on this board, even if just to try and discover leaks, etc..
If they don't read it I'll regard that as further evidence of how oddly "out of touch" they seem.
If you mean will there be a significant pps reaction to these essentially positive updates, no. Not unless someone picks up on the story and writes some rosy investment press. Other than that, Titan will remain backwater for the time being.
JMO, based on 2+ years of following this company.
Sure, delays are always possible and maybe more likely than not in this business, but that's not why pps is and HAS BEEN LOW FOREVER. It's low because no one has a damn idea what is going on in this company. That's the way they wanted to play it, and know they can reap the benefits (NOT!).
As long as they've got the goods, the goods work, and someone wants to buy a lot of them, we are still OK.
That's right. The arrogant clowns running this public company believe in running silent. I hope they have a good reason.
Honey, they wouldn't know sizzle if it bit them on the ass. Anyone who puts out a press release on Platform Imaging, and knows stockholders and those interested in buying will naturally investigate the company's website to learn more, and accepts that it looks like a half-baked, out-of-date sophomore science project, and doesn't care, doesn't know sizzle.
I truly believe now that they are actually saying FU to their shareholders. They've done it every time, even at the AGM.
They had better have the goods because the don't have the style.
Because they just pay lip service to being a public company while they use your money to develop a surgical robot.
No. He's a nitwit.
Completely agree. For whatever reason, personalities, self-righteousness, bad advice, being out of their skill set, these guys have cultivated no presence in their technology sector. Hargrove is a nobody. He looks like a nobody and he sounds like a nobody. Fowler is a respected doctor but so what? The advisory board have put "nothing on the line". They are just an advisory board; they are plenty busy with their careers. Marketwise, meaningless - unless the market is excited about something.
What/who is Reiza? Does anyone know?
It is showing now, and badly. It poisons a lot of things, namely the ability to raise money in a healthy way. I'm not talking about self-promoting BS; that is just as bad. But what is missing is any anticipation. My god, they should have it.
They need BASIC PR announcements that at least show they are not a flatline company. Show that they go to work each day. Mention Ximedica. I'm in at $1.87. Is this really a sub $2 stock? Really??
Of course the distributor announcement was inadequate. It's good news but it was not presented with any accompanying statement from the company, any which way. It was as dry as a bone, not much better than the "secret effector company" (why is it a secret?; at least answer that!) and Platform Engineering ("is that really a company?")announcements. Who the heck did they expect to get excited and push the pps up? I told you it wouldn't pop 25 cents.
NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT TITAN! NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT TITAN! NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT TITAN!
Management are legends in their own minds. Do they actually meet and work on a day-to-day basis? Is Bertner actually advising them, for good or bad? Does Randall really believe Titan was a "great investment" award winner at the AGM?
Long because of Ximedica, SAIL, and SPORT content and IP alone. I guess that's enough and what really counts. I just hope they don't blow things big time.
Agreed. A gross market overreaction.
We have seen it before because they are so inept at informing their investors and the investment community at large. I'd like to see Hargrove and a few others thrown out on their asses, even if they are eventually successful.
I don't have the guts to buy more of this stock at any price until I see concrete milestone-achieved news.
They are one strange gang of sh*t-kickers. Oh, and by the way they lie, when they were finally forced to "meet the public" at the AGM.
I prefer Ativan. A classic.
Maybe they thought the Longdong news was going to move the pps a lot more than it did.
In that case they are seeing the result of letting their market presence fade to nothing.
No, $1.87. But I like your confidence anyway.
Cripes! The jubilation is a bit premature here today.
Shit pps rises 10% to new shit pps.Aare you still in the red?
Better than nothing but hardly a cause for a party. Let's just hope for even more timely good news shall we? Titan should have a lot more to tell us about than a possible deal with a Chinese distributor.
The news is an important strategic linchpin for those of us in the know. But for the market at large, meaningless.
Also, it was presented a dry fact, no elaboration from management, no forward looking energy. Just their style, for whatever reason.
Hopefully, it's got some serious weight to it and not just a throwaway development.
Agreed. This news is very good to us, but not enough to move pps even 25 cents. See if I'm wrong.
It will be a long time before they ever even consider manufacturing in China. That would be crazy for a cutting edge surgical robotics system designed in US. Competition would eat that up.
I know one thing about Chinese doctors. If they think robotic surgery can advance their careers, they will flock to training for it. In that sense, aside from daVinci, SPORT might be the early winner in China and establish a real footprint in Asia.
On the other hand, does China have the money to invest in robotic surgery except in their very largest cities and centers? They are desperate to improve their medical technology, I know that first hand from liasons formed with my hospital.
It may just be news that Hargrove finally found his shoe.
Whenever Hargrove finds his other shoe.
Its funny to me that articles like that you linked show up from time to time. daVinci has been around a long time, and there is really nothing new to say about it. It's not company PR.
It will take more than a Press release to move this thing a dollar now. Even if the release says they are on track to sell (outside the US) in about a year.
It will take multiple high-impact releases to make a dent in the investor-sphere. They have absolutely failed to put any seed down in the potential market. A partnership or MA with a huge brand name might get a two dollar blip. Then we will see from there.
Dreams of $15 in the next year if they go it alone appear completely unrealistic. I was hoping for a new boat and a few other things by this time.
God save Ximedica!
I've been blowing hot air about that for two years here. Work in a stellar academic hospital, sit on the medical devices board, and occasionally speak to surgeons.
Haven't heard one mention of a Titan Medical in two years. Maybe I should go down to the OR and pass around a brochure.
