I have been getting up way too early...it is 3:20 here...I hope you are not on the same time frame because I am not getting enough sleep...but if you are really in vegas then you are having trouble sleeping like me and I need to turn this around soon...so I hope you are back east or something because 3:20 am is not an hour to be up lol.
me too omars, but don't back out this time man! lol
thanks for the post cnvegas, for some reason I thought you had a lot of great trades lately, as I remember your amzn puts and apple puts after earnings...it's a tough profession for sure...gl going forward!!!
you just never know what the strategy is; I've seen these kind of things reported with the spy and they never turn out...in fact I remember someone buy a boatload of 200 spy puts and the next day the market ramped to the moon...I guess it's worth a flyer...I actually like the restaurant/
hopefully they were buying those calls and not selling them.
No, nothing happened yet on loco, was just wondering if this was a heavy play for you. I'm looking at some calls, too, risk reward looks pretty good on this one.
cool dude are you loaded to the gills on loco calls?
Z halted.
cnvegas no way I'm as smart as you, you've been killing it and making bank, you must be 9 for 10 are you trades? I actually had a good trade on googl puts this morning and a not so good trade on tsla puts...so basically a wash...and sold my remaining nflx calls from yesterday at the open...was disappointed to see the heavy put action in the oi this morning on nflx, but that's the breaks, glad I sold half of my contracts yesterday near the high...I think omars must have done very good on his nflx puts from yesterday...congrats to him.
NDX pretty bullish candle on the daily so far...maybe it will fill the upper gap and then another sell off end of the week?
IWM traded above the downward trendline and couldn't hold today...end the day very bearish imo...basically a gravetone doji...next support level I have is 121.25 then 120.42; I don't trade this index very often but looks like a nice setup to the downside.
TSLA anyone trade it today? I got preoccupied loading up NFLX and missed the huge TSLA bounce in the first 20 min...that first candle was a doozy...sitting right above that critical $239 level at close.
thanks on nflx and then you have thrx where the mystery plays on ! GSK buys 85,000 shares of the company at $16, it spikes temporarily and then falls back...if someone can explain this action to me please do, I have no idea what's up, I guess it's just a flyer; maybe we wake up one day and it's $40 who the heck knows or it's $5.00?
sold half of nflx calls holding the rest for over $600, sorry was away for awhile.
thrx has to be the most boring stock in the world, lol...I guess you just buy the longer dated calls and forgot about it? It gives new meaning to range bound, but I guess that's how the drug stocks trade unless they get bought out or some new drug gets approved...not much money in this one, hopefully it moves for drpharmacist and he makes some bank in June.
you might get a scalp, I thought you were talking about a longer term put play on nflx...and I think it has more juice this week.
NFLX a beast lately; I think we see $600+ this week.
thanks Stutz~ I was drooling over the possibility of that play over the weekend, and then I saw the setup this morning and had to get out a drool bucket to contain myself...I had $$604.14 as the 1.27 extension and then $615.61 at the 1.38 but was just hoping for $590 today...maybe it goes higher today, don't know...but I think it's shooting for higher, above $600...I'm still wondering about that possible split in June, they might take it higher before that happens...the valuation is still crazy though imo...
NFLX on a RAMPAGE! my calls loving it!
yes 587 nflx calls...mentioned to JB this morning that premarket was up to $579 early this morning on low volume...they pulled it down before open, so the entry on nflx calls was a gift.
NFLX calls lovely! that $579 premarket action I posted was a precursor of things to come later this morning....wow...$
thrx likes the $16 level...
NFLX is it already gapped up $6 or is that my premarket imagination?
SPY 208.01
JB--I meant every word of it...there are many services out there that try to lure people in with the hope of big wins...I honestly think you are here to help people and you always have a personal touch in your replies. Sure, everyone wants to grow their business but I have found you to be a very stand up guy, one who takes responsibility for his trades, and that's a rare quality. I remember when you used to post your trading results on this board and I found that very helpful to put things in perspective. Options can be very profitable but unfortunately risky at the same time. I've been around this board for a number of years and I'd have to say that the level of expertise that is on this free board right now is the highest I've ever seen it in terms of posters...and we can use every advantage to win against the big money and the machines out there.
If you read my prior posts you will see that it's not personal, was just talking about lotto plays in general, and if you read the clarification you will see that I was very complimentary of you specifically. I think I said you are one of the most honest, transparent traders I know.
I'm glad to hear when anyone profits in options! I love it when the little guy wins because smart money has so many advantages, including timely analyst upgrades and downgrades...and I don't have anything against lotto type plays, they work sometimes but the majority don't...I have just found that planning out my trades on the charts and open interest works best for me but there are many other styles that's what makes options so interesting and challenging.. CF isn't even a stock I follow or trade so you can't be regretful about something you don't even follow. I was just talking about lottos in general; it's easy to get caught up in the lotto mentality but the fact is they are low percentage plays, when they work it's great, but I've tried play earnings lottos before and even if you're many times you end up losing because the premium is so pumped up and the stock doesn't move enough....good luck to everyone next week...I'm just a small fish in a big pond trying to eeeeekkkk out a living...
most of the lotto wins I've seen have been based on hunches not posted setups, I could be wrong about that. When asked about his CF calls JB basically replied "I got lucky". I'm not questioning JB at all, and I wouldn't do that because I would get run out of Dodge on the next train, besides he's one of the most honest, transparent traders I know...he's a no bullshit guy and he will actually say he loses more trades than he wins, which most traders won't admit...but many times on one or two wins it seems he can make it all back and more...that's something I've never been able to do and that's his style and it works for him. I don't have any agenda, it's pretty obvious you can make a bundle of money on options if your timing is right and you have good risk management, etc, etc. But I've also seen people come and go because they've blown out multiple trading accounts betting on lottos--and those losses do add up.
You make some good points and I appreciate your input and news posting. And there's some valuable information on this site for sure. And I've also posted some trades that I saw after the fact and didn't trade but somebody in the know did trade...it's kind of like shock and awe because you think that could have been me...I hear all the time that most successful traders make smaller, consistent wins and limit their losses, but I think all of us to a certain degree like to see the "lottery" type wins because it reminds us we could be a millionaire, too!
good post Cadillac...I'm certainly not trying to knock anyone because this is definitely not a job for the feint of heart and we all have our issues and liabilities in trading. I haven't seen you post a lot, would be interested in conversing further but I don't have a paid account with ihub anymore...
how about the 50 other lottery trades that went nowhere? lotteries can work once in awhile and you look like a genius when it happens but nobody talks about the others that expire worthless, and those losses can add up quickly...just my opinion, because I've tried that style of trading and I know how fast it can decimate your account.
what's the point of showing us all this every week? it's like buying a lottery ticket every week and never winning the jackpot lol... yes, we all agree you can make a lot of money in options if you're in them at the right time; timing is everything and so is inside information...a person can buy twenty no bid options and not make a dime...seen it happen many times...you should post some of those trades UPB, lol; the kind that go to zero...because most options expire worthless, that's just a fact...I'd like to see the statistics on the big money that writes these options, they are the real winners as time and decay is on their side...poof, have you ever seen money disappear so fast? have a great weekend...just busting your chops.
what happened to thrx? that one is ugly...either way ugly...ya amzn, nflx, googl, calls all good today...lnkd and pcln puts great! tsla flat trade... it's still the hardest job in the world imo...bar none...
Yabba dabba do, nflx $2,700! made up for my sheeety tsla put play yesterday.
JB remember when nflx was $80 and you made enough in two days to buy a TELSA? This stock is nuts. I bought the 470 calls at $1.30 sold at $4.30; then it came right back to the lows and the 470s are back at $4.85! I didn't get them again but honestly that would have been one heck of a trade...I guess it's going to $600?
Glad I sold my nflx calls near the top, that one rolled over like a dog with fleas...looks to me like people selling into this bounce...look out next week imo...we might see more downside...this seems like a bit of a relief rally on that middling jobs report...I don't see many jobs around here...where all these jobs I keep hearing about...all I see is part-time service jobs..lots of those if you want to work for peanuts. Wall Street is out of touch...they are building houses like there's no tomorrow and nobody is buying them...same dang thing is going to happen...nobody learns from history...ok now I'm done...go YELP!
LNKD puts maybe the best play of the day .... didn't think of it ...did anyone else, I hope so...this stock has to be in trouble if it can't make a move on a day like today...
I've got some yelp calls too golfnara but not as daring as yours! I was thinking maybe we should buy a few puts in case this just turns out to be a rumor because if that happens it will go back to the 30s quickly...I had a boatload for yelp earnings and held for weeks and then we got the big tank...I hope it happens, but I honestly think this whole business model sucks. The only people that take time to write reviews imo are those that have a grudge or a lot of time on their hands...who listens to this crap anyway. I did find the TRIP reviews pretty helpful but those seem pretty balanced...anyway, people have made so much money on these social media companies I guess they know what they are doing...Americans are such suckers for technology but you can't eat it or drink it...where I live they are buying up the farmland and building crap houses and dress shops and more lame strip malls...it's kind of short sighted imo...I guess it's all about the money...okay that's my little ditty for the week...gl all and make dat money like Tom Brady; he's laughing all the way to the bank with his deflated balls.
Boy BITA turned out to be a dude just like DIS...didn't trade either one, but earning have sure been a crapshoot this quarter...emphasis on crap...
will be interesting to see if anything happens with YELP of if this is just a way for option players to make money on those basically dead calls yesterday...somebody made bank on that rumor, that is for sure...what was it 17,000%; that's insane...
I think TSLA might try for $247 next week; it's one to watch.
sure could. nflx I had a $575 target for today; amzn $435 and googl $552...I only played nflx...would have done one more trade but after I blew it on tsla puts yesterday had to get back on my feet today...still can't believe I talked myself into those TSLA puts! but that's the way it goes...that was my only bad trade of the week and unfortunately I went too big...nflx helped out today. gl!
