News from the Stockholders Meeting:
In retrospect, there was really a lot of info disclosed that filled in the gaps.
The telecom companies that attended the 2006 Demo in San Diego in support of Platforms Recom system were Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent, who are the companies selected to provide the base stations for the Recom System.
Base-X is the strategic partner that purchased the Rosetta radio systems; one commercial and one military. There is a contract for up to 10 Rosetta systems in the works with the Marines at Camp Pendleton. The military system goes for around $60,000 each.
New product is called Skytower, an small transportable aerostat system that lifts various antennas up to a 200 foot elevation or higher for greater range. Price is going to be between $200,000 and $300,000.
Most importantly, the USDOD in Colorado Springs has selected the Recom system as a product that they intend to use. Platforms has been added to an existing IDIQ (the internet definition is Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity) contract as a subcontractor at the request of the DOD, but Platforms and the prime contractor have NOT finalized the terms of the contract.
About 45 people attended the meeting.
There are more details but now I'm taking the rest of the evening off for dinner and kick-back
jimlur

Platforms Wireless Reports Board of Directors Proceedings
Tuesday August 14, 8:30 am ET
Company Confirms and Ratifies Board of Directors Changes
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Platforms Wireless International Corporation (Pink Sheets:PLFM - News; www.plfm.net), the developer of the innovative Airborne Relay Communications "ARC" System Core Technology for wireless voice and data communications, announced today that the Company's Board of Directors has ratified the appointment of Raymond Magana, a current board member and a Pasadena-based attorney, as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1, 2007.
The Board of Directors also appointed long-time board member Richard Cody, Jr. as its outside Lead Director, replacing Mr. Magana in that position. Mr. Magana had been appointed Lead Director following the death of esteemed board member Lawrence Brooks in April 2007.
Additionally, the Board of Directors confirmed and ratified the engagement of its former President and CEO, William C. Martin, as a management consultant to support the company's business and technology development operations.
The Board of Directors also approved the Company's Shareholders' Meeting, which is scheduled to take place in November 2007, at the same forum where it was held last year - The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.
Raymond Magana, President and CEO of Platforms Wireless, stated: "The timely actions taken unanimously by our Board of Directors ensure the continuity of our Company's positive momentum, while we continue to vigorously contest and appeal the recent judgment in the SEC civil case against the Company and some of its former officers. With business prospects for our Emergency-911 communications systems looking bright, we look forward to continuing positive developments."
Platforms Wireless offers two innovative "Emergency-911," interoperable radio and cellular communications systems based on its proprietary Airborne Relay Communications "ARC" System Core Technology.
The RECOM-911(TM) Rapid Response Emergency Communications System(TM) is Platforms' flagship System product. It is a custom-built, airborne, transportable wireless communications system designed to provide Cellular and Interoperable Radio communications to emergency first responders during and immediately following a catastrophic emergency, or a natural or man-made disaster. RECOM-911(TM) is transportable, ISO containerized, and rapidly deployable by air, land, or sea to the incident location, where it can be activated into service within hours of its arrival. RECOM-911(TM) can provide 24/7 uninterrupted Cellular communications services to a radius area of up to 70 miles with a service capacity of more than 25,000 users. In conjunction with the ROSETTA-911(TM) System, the RECOM-911(TM) System can also provide Interoperable Radio/Cellular Communications and Internet/VOIP Connectivity. Video Surveillance and Sensor (radar) facilities are also available system options.
The ROSETTA-911(TM) Interoperable Radio/Cellular Communications System is a ready-to-use, turnkey System that provides interoperable radio/cellular communications facilities, which enable different VHF, UHF, 800 MHz radios, and cellular telephones, to seamlessly interconnect and communicate with each other, including Internet/VOIP connectivity. The ROSETTA-911(TM) System is available as an integral component of the RECOM-911(TM)System, where it can provide the Radio/Cellular interoperable communications facilities, and as a standalone, portable system unit. The ROSETTA-911(TM) portable system comes fully equipped and ready to use, including VHF, UHF, and 800 MHz mobile (LMR) radios, matching portable radios, a cellular and land-line (STU-III compatible) telephone port, and Internet/VOIP connectivity, for comprehensive command and control facilities that enable incident commanders to efficiently control, direct, and manage emergency first response critical operations.
ABOUT PLATFORMS WIRELESS INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION (PINK SHEETS: PLFM - News)
Platforms Wireless International Corporation, headquartered in Westlake Village, California, is the developer of the innovative airborne wireless communications technology known as the Airborne Relay Communications "ARC" System Core Technology(TM). The ARC System Core Technology is designed to provide multiple wide area wireless telecommunications services from a lighter-than-air platform suspended 1,000 to 5,000 meters above mean sea level by a tethered aerostat. The RECOM-911(TM), "Rapid Response Emergency Communications System," is the Company's flagship product, and a derivative system product of the ARC System Core Technology. The RECOM-911(TM) System is an airborne, rapid response emergency communications system that can be readily transported to critical emergency and natural or man-made disaster locations. The System can provide a cellular communications airborne service coverage diameter of 220-kilometers, or a 60 to 70-mile radius, with a service capacity of 25,000 to 50,000 users. The RECOM-911(TM) System interfaces with the ROSETTA-911(TM) System to provide VHF, UHF, 800 MHz radio and cellular interoperability facilities with Internet/VOIP communications connectivity. The ROSETTA-911(TM) System can also operate as a separate, transportable, independent interoperable communications field station. Management believes its advances in the field of airborne wireless communications technology, reinforced by new product developments, will provide efficient, cost-effective, voice and data communications solutions for rapid response to critical emergencies and natural or man-made disasters, and for augmenting, replacing, and/or supplementing terrestrial land-line and wireless telecommunications infrastructures. wow kindof quiet for a plfm finally selling something!

Investors want numbers how much is plfm making off of these ...
GTEL got alot of investors when it claimed it had a system and now PLFM could they attract the same attention someday?
I hope so and I hope its soon.
the product is marketable and its a long wait but still we have all waited this far GO PLFM GO BABY go
Hi I invested the other day in WEX ..
the 20 million dollar investment got me into the stock .
My friend said told me he seen the PBS venoms as cures and if anyone has a link to this please post as I have not seen it..
As Wex enters into phase 3 in Canada the stock should get more attention..
Venture-capital firm Harris & Harris (Nasdaq: TINY) is a difficult company to follow, because its value resides in the two dozen-plus nanotechnology start-ups in which it has an equity stake.
For a long time, one of its more visible portfolio holdings was Nanosys, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based start-up that many thought would be the first true nanotechnology company to go public.
Well, for a variety of reasons, Nanosys failed to file for an IPO back in 2004, and as a result, it has somewhat unfairly been held up as the poster child for much of the hype that surrounded the field of nanotechnology a few years back.
An article in today's Technology Review, however, reveals that Nanosys is alive and kicking, and it has made deals with both Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) and Micron (NTSE: MU) to begin supplying its metal nanocrystals in next-generation flash memory chips as early as 2009.
By replacing the floating gate in existing flash chips with nanocrystals, Nanosys can help flash-memory manufacturers reduce the amount of insulating material needed and, more importantly, shorten the height of the cells. This combination means that more flash chips can be packed into Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhones and iPods so that the devices can hold more pictures, songs, and video. As an added benefit, the metal nanocrystals require a lower voltage to program, and this, in turn, allows the devices to operate for longer periods without needing a charge.
The development is significant for investors because it is yet another indication that nanotechnology is leading to material improvements in commercial products and holds out the possibility that, after a long delay, Nanosys might really be ready to go public -- an event that could give Harris & Harris' stock a nice boost.
from Scottrade new chart trends system on plfm
PLFM is trading above its 13 day moving average. This is considered to be the sign of a bullish trend. There is added weight to this indication because the moving average is rising and suggests that there has been buying interest in this stock.
Nice movement and volume more than normal today whole mkt down PLFM up 20%..

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO POST A MESSAGE FOR A FEW DAYS. I CONTACTED MR.PETERS OF PLFM. AND ASKED HIM IF THE COMPANY EVER OFFERED THEIR SYSTEM TO A LARGE TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANY LIKE VERIZON. THIS IS THE REPLY I RECEIVED ON 7/11/07
Even the cost of a mobile system at $15.5 million is more than a supplier (such as Verizon) wants to spend to extend their network. But in cases where the network is down, such as in the aftermath of a Hurricane Katrina event, the federal govt has an incentive to quickly restore EMERGENCY communications, and that is where our current market lies for the RECOM-911 System. Anything that flies over 200 feet above ground level comes under the jurisdiction of the FAA, so a Verizon would have to apply for and be granted a “no-fly zone” every time they move the system. Conversely, the emergency response forces are the govt, and are much more capable of being granted an emergency “no-fly zone” by the FAA in the aftermath of a disaster.
It is important to point out that our new Strategic Partner is representing BOTH the RECOM-911 System and the ROSETTA-911 System to their clients and govt contacts, and their sales force is quite excited to represent the biggest ticket item they’ve ever had to offer.
Mr. Bcat
Is plfm still trying to get globial contracts as well?
who is plfm's new partner any guesses?
jimlur
IDCC should buy a nanotech chip maker to insure future growth
about IDCC buying Nanoopto or some Nanosysinc.com.
If IDCC invested here I think they would be glad they did in just a few years time..
what do you think?
