I think we are just late to the party after DOW started the party on Monday.
Is Campagna finished with his options now?
Hey, he might know the new judge on the Samsung case for all we know.
I wonder if the shorts noticed this. If not, the train is coming and they better get off the tracks.
MOTLEY Fool addressed the Apple situation better than anything I have read to date. We have a new 7 year license with Apple, we upped our guidance and we will receive $20 million in the near future from a new licensee. The three may all be connected but it is also possible that only two are related. Inquiring minds would like to know.
How can this guy say that the deal is worth $56 million? Did he read the contract?
There is no way that BM signed a seven year contract with Apple for $56 million. Apple will sell more than 56 million iphones over a seven year period. Their track record in new innovation bears this out. BM has stated several times that IDCC will license their patents when the deal is right for IDCC. JMO
Too bad that the company decided not to buy back some shares last week.
It will be interesting to see the next "short" report.

DD: Thanks. I must have missed the 1/7/2007 date.
Can we assume now, that our 2G agreement with Nokia sixteen months, where there was a stipulation that we would not sue Nokia sooner than a "date certain" has now passed and the gate is now open.
Gosh! A PR from KOP. I was wondering if there was even a pulse in KOP.
Why do you think they were correct and you were wrong? Legal expenses rising? or waiting for the ITC to finish with Samsung?or the 2g settlement last April, IDCC agrees not to sue Nokia until a date certain?
They can use debt for an acquisition. They have already secured an $80 million dollar line of credit.
IDCC's cash balance is $212 million. Unless they need all the cash for product development, I would think that they could buyback at least one million shares, and when the judge issues the judgement against Sammy, a buyback and dividend should be in the offering.
I concur with that. IDCC needs to step up to the plate and buyback more shares.
Data: Thank you.
DATA: Are there any synergies between IDCC and Amberwave?
It's options Friday. Would you expect anything less than the pigs at the trough.
That may only be part of the problem. Last Friday, July 6, was the reporting date to the admistrative law judge of the first of three settlement conferences. Since no settlement came out of this first effort it also could be a possible scenario for the price drop. Next report of settlement conference is November 16.

Tribunal To Extend Investigation Into Chip Patent DisputeLast update: 5/25/2007 4:41:12 PM
By Corey Boles
Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--The International Trade Commission said Friday it was extending its investigation into the potential damages it would levy as a result of patent dispute between Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) and Broadcom Corp. (BRCM). The tribunal was expected to issue a decision Friday as to what if any action Qualcomm must take after the ITC previously found that it was infringing on a Broadcom patent. But in a brief statement released on its Web site, it said it had decided to extend its investigation for 13 days until June 7. The ITC must decide whether to impose no penalty on Qualcomm, a partial ban of third generation, or 3G, cellular phones using one type of its technology in their microchips, or a total ban of all 3G phones using its technology in their microchips. -By Corey Boles, Dow Jones Newswires; 202-862-6637; corey.boles@dowjones.com

Thank you.
Thank you for checking. But any court action today may not have been posted, correct?
I am not betting on any news either....I gave up on that a long time ago. IDCC serves no news before its time. But the positive action of + $1.85 and over a million shares traded always gets my attention...just as it gets my attention when we are down. There is no apparent reason. As I mentioned in my original post..."either our presentation hit a homerun yesterday or there is something going on that we are unaware". EOM
News does not have to leak from the company...it can leak from any court or any lawyer, or any person from a company that IDCC is in negotiations with.
I can agree with that statament.
Either our presentation hit a homerun yesterday or there is something else going on that we are unaware of at this point.
I use Ameritrade. Just saw three trades go through for a total of 16,100 shares. One trade was for 15,500 shares. No trades since those three.
Are we halted? No trades as of yet and no movement on the bid/ask.
I think it was more sinister than that!
OT: A little humor on a slow day. No offense to our fine attorneys on the board. The following taken from an actual court reporters file:
ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive,
nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and
practicing law.

Someone read the news release by IDCC on the ITC and thought there would be pop today, not suspecting that we knew this info Monday.
Looks like they succeeded today. From an intra-day high of $35.25 yesterday to a close of $33.71 today.
We are fighting hard to keep above yesterday's close...even with this good news...damn options!
