Probably good news for FCEL.

Hello old timers, looking forward to my new status as a posting member of the board.
Actually, they just explained carbon capture with FCEL equipment prominently displayed and said “this could be big!” With inflection! I’ve seen the add on Fox and CBS now. Let the awareness campaign begin.
Not sure how this is off topic so I'll repost it hoping that Admin doesn't delete it again.
Anyone can get it right in hindsight.
Just saw the ExxonMobil FCEL ccs commercial while watching Ohio State/Michigan game on fox.
I bought my first few shares of FCEL at $5.40 and have been buying ever since. Lots of folks got into Apple to early as well. The successful millionaires held on to their shares when the sun wasn’t shining. The billionaires kept buying.
Company update, don’t see much new information.

FCEL gets a piece of this pie. Heat value credits to offset the cost of generation for the Bridgeport Fuel Cell Park. The maps tell the story.

Thought I would weigh in with some factual data links.
What is missing in the discussion is the value of credits (heat, carbon, hydrogen, etc) to offset the higher costs of capital and generation.
There is a market for all of the technologies in the report.

Bennet Amendment #19 to Chairman’s Mark of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
Short Title: Maintaining Modern and Secure Energy Infrastructure
This Act may be cited as the “Carbon Capture Improvement Act of 2017”.
SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
Congress finds the following:
(1) Capture and long-term storage of carbon dioxide from coal, natural gas, and biomass-fired power plants, as well as from industrial sectors such as oil refining and production of fertilizer, cement, and ethanol, can help protect the environment while improving the economy and national security of the United States.
(2) The United States is a world leader in the field of carbon dioxide capture and long-term storage, as well as the beneficial use of carbon dioxide in enhanced oil recovery operations, with many manufacturers and licensors of carbon dioxide capture technology based in the United States.
(3) While the prospects for large-scale carbon capture in the United States are promising, costs remain relatively high. Lowering the financing costs for carbon dioxide capture projects would accelerate the deployment of this technology, and if the captured carbon dioxide is subsequently sold for industrial use, such as for use in enhanced oil recovery operations, the economic prospects are further improved.
(4) Since 1968, tax-exempt private activity bonds have been used to provide access to lower-cost financing for private businesses that are purchasing new capital equipment for certain specified environmental facilities, including facilities that reduce, recycle, or dispose of waste, pollutants, and hazardous substances.
(5) Allowing tax-exempt financing for the purchase of capital equipment that is used to capture carbon dioxide will reduce the costs of developing carbon dioxide capture projects, accelerate their deployment, and, in conjunction with carbon dioxide utilization and long-term storage, help the United States meet critical environmental, economic, and national security goals.

Heller Amendment #3 to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
Cosponsors: Portman
Short Title: Technologies for Energy Jobs and Security Act
Description of the Amendment:
This amendment:
1. Extends the 30% investment tax credit (ITC) for stationary fuel cell and small wind projects that begin construction during calendar years 2017, 2018, and 2019—phasing down to 26% for projects in 2020, 22% for 2021, and phasing out completely after December 31, 2021.
2. Provides parity for geothermal power with solar power, allowing a 30% ITC for commercial geothermal projects that begin construction during calendar years 2017, 2018, and 2019—phasing down to 26% for projects in 2020, 22% for 2021, and returning to the prior rate of 10% after December 31, 2021.
3. Extends the 10% ITC for microturbines, thermal energy, and combined heat and power (CHP) systems that begin construction on or before December 31, 2021.
4. Makes waste heat to power eligible alongside CHP for the 10% ITC for projects commencing construction until December 31, 2021.
5. Retroactively reinstates the Section 25D residential energy credits and extends them through December 31, 2021.
Effective for tax years beginning in 2017.
Offsets: To be provided.

I think your theory is very valid. I went back and looked at outstanding warrants from the last Q (7-31) compared to outstanding at the proxy (10-31).
7-31
Series A 7,680,000
Series C 12,000,000
Series D 10,622,460
10-31
Series A 7,680,000 (0)
Series C 11,540,900 (-459,100)
Series D 2,584,174 (-8,038,286)
It is apparent that the Series D ($1.60) warrants are being exercised and the Series C (&1.28) are being held.
I would speculate that the balance of the D’s hit the float this week.
interesting that the Series C expire 1 year from issuance.

Renewable Energy
The Senate bill would maintain the renewable energy investment tax credit (ITC) and production tax credit (PTC) current law five-year phasedowns without any changes. The bill does not adopt the inflation adjustment or continuous construction requirement changes included in the House bill. However, the Senate legislation does not extend “orphaned” RETC technologies at the current law ITC phasedown schedule, which is included in the House bill.

Locked and loaded here for an add on at the gap close and 50dma test.
$26m represents the change in fair market value for the outstanding and non-vested warrants. The $6-7m numbers represent the vested but not exercised warrants.
I have no fork in this pig, so I will refrain from posting as much as possible. I was once heavily invested, and believe the Technology has great potential but unless and until CFO Middleton gets canned everyone will be asking how the numbers add up!
Third, if and when they are exercised, they will be dilutive to existing shareholders.

Quote,
“We are still 10 plus years away” for carbonate fuel cells to be “deployed” at scale, according to Swarup.
Question,
What does “deployment at scale” look like to XOM?
200 MW deployed = 20 MW/yr to FCEL
2000 MW deployed = 200 MW/yr to FCEL (capacity)
20000? Gotta start building new production facilities now!
200,000 MW? Holy crap! How we gonna get that done?
The current pilot at Southern Co. is scheduled for completion at the end of 2019 and, if successful, it may very well become the first large project built to scale. Barry is a 2+ GW mixed use (coal/gas) facility. Assuming a GW for each, that represents somewhere in the 1300 MW range to capture 90% of the CO2 currently being generated.
Sorry that didn’t copy well but it’s spike time for the orphaned tech.

Another fun fact for you DJ,
When you’re in the business of generating clean energy capturing carbon and producing H2 as a byproduct, you don’t care if your H2 gets sold as a vehicle fuel or into the oil/gas industry.
*********************
In addition, carbonate fuel cell technology has the potential to generate significant volumes of hydrogen. Simulations suggest that the new technology can produce up to 150 million cubic feet per day of hydrogen while capturing carbon dioxide from a 500 MW power plant. To put that in perspective, a world-scale steam methane reforming hydrogen plant produces around 125 million cubic feet per day
