Quote,

“We are still 10 plus years away” for carbonate fuel cells to be “deployed” at scale, according to Swarup.

Question,

What does “deployment at scale” look like to XOM?

200 MW deployed = 20 MW/yr to FCEL
2000 MW deployed = 200 MW/yr to FCEL (capacity)
20000? Gotta start building new production facilities now!
200,000 MW? Holy crap! How we gonna get that done?

The current pilot at Southern Co. is scheduled for completion at the end of 2019 and, if successful, it may very well become the first large project built to scale. Barry is a 2+ GW mixed use (coal/gas) facility. Assuming a GW for each, that represents somewhere in the 1300 MW range to capture 90% of the CO2 currently being generated.
