10k 20k?...shares?...not saying you cant make a few pennies on small vol...but some will be left in dust, if they are doing any vol.
the key for those who are scalping is what they have to pay to buy back their trade!.....ask vol is drying up...love it when they try to buy back and pay more..lol
yep...IMHO...they are not going to "pump it"...the will just "do it"
it might not even happen that way...right now I am confident(but have no actual knowledge) that XXII management has done preliminary inquiries into requirements for all exchanges and have zeroed in on one.
Next, they would submit docs to determine if the docs are in order as required for exchange...
last step...the trigger...whatever it is...usually price/length of time...when that is reached...bingo...and days for approval...
IMHO...probably will have simultaneous announcement/approval, or at least announcement of submission(knowing it is going to qualify and is days away)...they have already told investors of their intentions to uplist...
"doing" and "done" is always more preferable to "we are almost there"...over and over...
yep...been there ...done that about 20 times...but no new info...no
"update" or similar indication that there is a new posting....
ps...thanks anyway...waiting for Van to get back to my email to him.
Yes...there are many ways to get to Nasdaq Capital Markets ...without 90days...as well as NYSE/amex...and levels range from $5 down to $2.00 and 90days to "only upon application and approval"
IN ADDITION...Nasdaq makes exceptions to the exceptions "informally" ...
IMHO...if this runs to $5...expect uplisting "somewhere" and quickly.
Pete...excuse me if I misunderstood your statement on Roth IRA and tax consequences but you stated:
"I do have one worry - Sphere 3D gets bought out for big bucks and 'I LOSE MY ELIGIBILITY TO PUT IN ROTH MONIES THIS YEAR.' At least I can then back them out and pay the taxes on the large gains."
If I am understanding your statement correctly, it appears to be based upon wrong assumptions.
1. If SPIHF gets bought out for big bucks..."I lose my eligibility to put Roth monies in this year". That is incorrect. Once an "asset" is placed in a Roth...appreciation of that asset has absolutely no effect on your subsequent contribution limits. THAT was exactly the purpose of the ROTH...with "after-tax dollar" contribution you receive "tax-free" appreciation on those assets...which leads to the second statement which also puzzles me..
2. "at least I can back them out and pay taxes on the large gains"...there are no taxes on gains in a Roth regardless of when you withdraw (once you reach eligible age to withdraw).
Roth is an unbelievable "gold mine" for aggressive investors who want substantial appreciation with NO TAXES...no capital gains, no ordinary income.
It is a favorite for those who receive 144 restricted stock from start up companies because they also get to make a "valuation" of the stock or asset, (if an accountant substantiates to a Trustee) this the stock is almost "worthless" even it the trading stock has some value. They get to contribute millions of share for $5k or $6.5 K annual limit ...which some day may be worth literally millions tax free and just withdraw this tax free principal and income at any time, in whole or in part ... and reinvest.
IMHO....It is a retirement tool every investor ought to take advantage of with Vans' picks from out of the gate.
exactly where on the subscription site does the update appear? I have searched every inch including of course the DSNY and SPIHF tags and have found nothing new.
direction would be appreciate.
meaning...this week
As always...I look forward to your sage counsel and enlightenment on HTFBS...
Peter...Timing isn't everything...at times it's the only thing. No doubt you "instincts" assisted you in making a sage decision.
ps...I agree...tea leaves point to this week, (time tolling on submission and thorough report and upgrade)
but we are dealing with arms of the fed gov...so could be disappointed...
Jock...you do very nice technicals here and on all big 3...very informative and helpful...keep up the good work!
Lambert...as you alluded to ...for those thinking of moving money to from XXII...there is a Warrant overhang the other big 3 stock you referred to, which for some reason is not being discussed (dont know the size). They will have to be executed by Warrant holders next week (or they will lose the warrants).
My "recollection" is that they are at .60 (as I remember...but not sure). Execution of warrants and sale into market next week(which is a strong possibility...but not a given) could give further downside pressure on the "other" big 3...mixed in with a critical CC...on tuesday, where credibility (substantive progress in roll out) is at stake. Could be an opportunity...or could be much less.
Meanwhile (IMHO)....XXII has upward pressure and appears to be more positive for "event" driven news, for now.
Perhaps both will run...perhaps only one...hummm
Sag...I agree, the international sales potential, esp. in China via BT connection was missing, but perhaps too speculative for the report...but IMHO...the opportunity, connection and financial commitment from BT are all to obvious.
generally correct Timorr...but in this case with HTFBS picks...DD would tell you to own all 3, but timing is the issue...not lazy DD...and timing is always difficult since events/news can suddenly propel anyone of them. I agree...IMHO...SPIHF stongest and surest... but XXII has the momo for the time being...DSNY needs help.
Its always been a mistake...clipping off a couple of thousand share of Spiffy to take "advantage" of other opportunities...had to buy back higher each time. Now I am prepared to sit and add for now and wait for 1 year while smelling the roses. I consider it a CD on steroids.
...thanks to Van's excellent DD.
Mad...you are not reading it correctly...that is a "continued listing" i.e. once uplisted or listed you must maintain a $1 bid
DSNY has a number of hurtles to qualify, most of which have been met. It is my understanding that only $3 is required (with all the other requirements) to uplist now...that is the reason for 1 for 5 RS...to reach and maintain $3 for 5 days. Thereafter, it has to maintain a $1 bid price.
What may also be keeping price down here is the issue of Warrant expirations coming next week. Warrants must be exercised next week or they will expire worthless. I believe they were issued at .60 and must be purchased by next week (dont know the specific day). Once purchased there could be more selling into the market..since 100% gain on those Warrants.
I am sure much depends on who are the owners of those warrants and the likelihood of a sale into the market...that would not be positive...but also unlikely if they are insiders/employees. We just dont know.
IMHO...the timing of this report and overdo MSA acceptance/decision not coincidental...
I think for now ... the market is telling you what they think about that "target"...no doubt they have a very heavy burden next week..
I have enough...at risk
game would be over for all U.S manufacturers with BT purchase of xxii... IMHO with China market...xxii is too big for BT to pass up.
Screw U.S. manufacturers and U.S. Market...40% of world market in China...
BT in China with VLN cigs would be like AAPL selling iPhone in China, at full price
Think big picture...Keep your eye on the ball...
All this fuss with U.S. market....it's like SH worrying if AAPL will be securing the Argentina Market instead of focusing on China(a little exaggerated) but you get my point?
IMHO...the closer we get to BT ...the closer we get to the holy grail...and pronto!
price before news....?
VERY STRONG FINISH....both price and volume
there was no reference to market in China and BT connection which is the largest marketer of cigs in China...plus in China the producer MUST LABLE NICOTINE content on every pack!
what is that worth being VLN in CHINA....?
not worried...and I do not expect to wait "next couple of years" to harvest its fruit.
Should definitely see some renewed interest on Monday ...etc. Give it time to circulate...new buyers taking out the 750k shares sub-$2 over the last week will only strengthen SP...always good when renewed buying with volume. (let the traders exist)
Wondering how many of those 1.666M shares Sabby unloaded since Dec 31st?
Also wondering if this is a prelude to MSA?...IMHO...generally these reports are not committed to without birdies flying on their shoulders...they dont need egg on their face.
ps. picked up 25k more shares today...judiciously, for long term
RICK...it's another "paid promotion" stocks...notice NO SUBSTANCE to any comments...all hype on price...last one out the door gets screwed!
Seven...that's like asking if SPIHF would meet the criteria because it is around $6...all the fundamental dont change because there are less shares and market cap (value) remains the same.
If anything it becomes even a Bigger Stock...with potential for Huge Short squeeze coming sooner than later.
agree...slyest...can scalp a few pennies here and there if you wish with SPIHF...but one day you will wake up and look to buy back with $10 bills...imo...its going to be a mini-google ...why play around...sit back and enjoy the ride if you can.
Dear hissy...you are not seeing the whole or big picture...
Read Van's messages and it will not be hard to figure out what Steve is doing:
1. Van: "DSNY will only have to trade at $3 for five days.
The ratio up to 1 for 5 was a very smart move.
Everyone is assuming the naked short is at 5m shares.
The financing deal was for a proposed $35m.
When a financing deal is set to go, the banker will typically short an amount of shares that leaves little risk for them."
2. Van: "Notwithstanding approval of the Reverse Split by the stockholders, the Board of Directors, in their sole discretion, may abandon the Reverse Split without further approval, action by, or prior notice to stockholders."
Meaning a vote of the SH for RS...makes it virtually impossible for Short to drive down share, what would be approx $9.00 to $3.00.
Secondly, even with approval....board does not have to RS. They can call it off.
WHY WOULD THEY CALL IF OFF?....where do you think the price of DSNY will be once RS approved?...more than $3 or less than $3? If everyone is anticipating a mother load short squeeze (perhaps exceeding the number of share issued...possibly over 50M short)...are they going to be bidding up the stock as they rush for the gold rush...or just sitting there? My guess is that sometime during the "Notice, Meeting and Vote" for the RS...we will be over $3 for 5 days and actually executing a RS split will no longer be necessary...
Add a significant announcement re: Clipstream adoption and revenue....for a cherry on top of the cream. Bingo...Nasdaq without a RS.
translates into 1m short...not 5m short
Would have preferred to see announcement released with some very positive news on G2 adoption...to support price.
but others will not understand and run...
I expect weakness ... due to the uninformed...Reverse split is a negative, absent extenuating circumstances like this.
ps. Dealing with a Naked Shorter...shorts at will and no need to find shares...sells into the bid.
pps. find it virtually impossible for short to drive below $2 after split within a 90 day period...if split here it would be $8.80
ppps..process would take at least 45 days and probably 60days with notices and votes etc.
IMHO...Smart Management would not call for the exercise of warrants (which they have the RIGHT, but NOT THE OBLIGATION to)until they successfully launch which would bring volume price appreciation into the stock.
Warrant holders, converting into a rally would hardly be noticed.
NITE is a whore MM...they manipulate all the time...and will hold a bid and ask away from other MM while at the same time not filling it ...if you cancel in the meantime ...they will move in the opposite direction....
watch the difference when other MM are on the ask of bid...fill are quick...NITE...will manipulate the order almost every time.
Dont expect new one...they all unfortunately consolidated same day for different reasons...
Dane..the bid/ask closed at 6/6.06, but the last trade before the bid was raised and market closed was 5.867
thanks for the edit...not the sharpest at 1:30 AM..
Well done...on trumpet...but the true test for a Taps (Last Post) player is to play it on a Bugle...no valves/keys...
Tid-bit on U.S Presidential Taps...
A U.S. tradition has grown over the past 50 years; Taps has been played at internment of all American Presidents (except Reagan)on the same Bach Stradivarius Bugle (only 6 Bach Stradivarius Bugles were ever made)and has been played by only 3 U.S. Army Master Buglers during this period ... The Bugle became known as the Bach "Kennedy Bugle" and was retired and is on display at the Kennedy Memorial in Arlington.
Reagan received his own (one of the six) Bach Stradivarius Bugle when, two days before Reagan's internment, they realized that the Bach "Kennedy Bugle" had been removed to the 50th Anniversary of the Normandy Invasion. That bugle was also "retired" and is now on display in the Reagan Library and known as the Bach "Reagan Bugle"...Nancy felt Ronnie was as important as JFK and deserved his own ... anyway.
dsny, I think vl knows that...he meant the speaker made a "substantive" case for Clipstream. Clipstream was not mentioned in the interview as THE solution or even mentioned at all. Bottom line is the link discusses the void and need for a solution...which vl is alluding to as clipstream.
that kind of order would require significant information from XXII...not gotten over the phone
