Thanks, Tate...I will, believe me.
One of the symptoms I had before that scared me to death (the scorpion) was my lips getting numb and swelling up.
Oh Yah!! It's been addressed, Susie. LOL
Ask Matt. ;)
As it turns out I don't have any amonia here...am going to the market to get some..AND wasp spray!
Oh! Dumb me...LOL I'll do it right now.
Will do, Tate. You sure there's no stinger? The entry point feels hard to the touch.
To kill the wasps? Straight strength? I have lots of chameleons (sp?), honey bees, toads and believe it or not...a frog, that I would hate to harm or kill. Is it safe for them?
But if it works against fire ants, cockroaches and killer bees, I'm all for it.
LOL Don't live in the south...it may be hazardous to your health!
From the experience I had last year (my first sting)...the bruising will spread...eventually it will turn purple, then green, then yellow. And it will itch like mad!
I know I'm not allergic so will tough it out. ;)
Right now, I'd like to go out to Walmart and buy a case of Wasp Spray to kill every one of those boogers. Grrrrrrrrrrr
You guys ought to see my leg where the red wasp got me. One can see the entry point, the area around it is bright red and about the size of a saucer now. Doesn't hurt but am aware of it...when I touch it, I can feel the "heat."
I was right about all the venom going there apparently as the second sting is hardly noticeable. Too bad the locations weren't reversed as I won't be able to wear shorts in public for awhile, methinks.
And he can't say we're drunk either!
Thanks for the welcome. No, I haven't heard about the vanilla.
Have you ever purchased it in Mexico...by the quart? It's dirt cheap plus I'm told it's great for baking. (I don't bake)
I've had requests for it from relatives all over the country...the cost of shipping one bottle is almost triple what I pay for it though.
But he wouldn't only pick on you, would he?...didn't LowNumba say he could only see a head shot?
Nah, Matt's too nice to play games.
Thanks for telling me. That's another visual I could have lived without. ;)
And people tell me I'm gullible!
How come he's not working today?
That's a good one, Bull. ROF
Churak is a Canadian?
Ladies don't get drunk...we just get a little tipsy.
Matt's pulling a fast one on you, I'll betcha.
I don't know. Perhaps Matt can tell us. ;)
You are so right about Avon Skin-So-Soft bath oil.
Also, put up a Purple Martin house and prepare a haven for bats. They practically live on mosquitos.
Interesting about the vanilla...I go to Mexico frequently. Will have to try using it for repellent instead of baking.
Have always done the Marigold thingy too. Never have to use insecticides.
You had me doubting what I saw. Just looked at it again.
Full body shot...arms outstretched...black and white striped shorts, black sleeveless top.
How weird...perhaps you ought to drink with us. Try some coffee.
Huh? I see a full body shot...black sleeveless top????
They have them there too? ;)
I had to go look at the photo again. You must be talking about the first one?? But it was only a head shot, as I recall.
Are you (or Susie) talking about red and white shorts and solid red shirt? He's always worn red when he appeared on Letterman.
Nah...in the South. They're everywhere but for some reason they are found more in new houses.
The stings are not fatal unless one is allergic. The first time I was stung I was fast asleep and one dropped out of the air-conditioning vent right above my bed. How I knew what it was, I'll never know but I did...immediately.
Did you know they give live birth to ittsy-bittsy scorpions? I actually witnessed that.
I liked the first one of you he put in the gallery. Nothing could top that one.
Such a cutie!
Thanks! The Sting-Kill is working.
They're spoiled. I go through a 50-lb sack of oiled sunflower seeds in no time.
I already did that (danced around) albeit it was outside and I only got partially nekkid. If the neighbour saw me I have a hunch he prolly threw up. LOL
Now that would of have been a picture to send to the iHub photo gallery! Can you visualize it?
Oh Man...if you only knew my closest neighbour....now if I were a guy. ;)
I'm outdoors more than I am in as I love to garden. In all the years, I've only been stung once by a honey bee and that was when I accidentally stepped on it while barefoot.
Also, once by a hornet and now twice by a wasp. The scorpion stings occurred inside my house. Poor Muttsy has nosed several of them out and been stung too.
The wasp sting hurts the most.
Thanks for the info.
The nasty thing must have expended all it's venom in the first sting. The second one doesn't hurt as much.
I found something in the medicine cabinet...Sting-Kill Swabs...a topical anesthetic. It's helping.
I've only been stung once before (last year)...I'm not allergic to wasps...only scorpion stings.
Nobody here but this chicken. LOL What a thought...
"Honey, please get over here and suck the venom out of my butt."
Hey, it helps to laugh. NOT
No I haven't. I'm using aloe vera. Do wasps leave stingers?
Actually both words should have been in caps.
I am in dire pain. :(
A word of advice...
Do NOT, I repeat...do NOT ever go outside in a long robe to fill a birdfeeder during wasp season! One of those nasty critters may accidentally find itself in an odd world inside said robe ....and panic.
What do they do when they panic? YES, they sting! Perhaps inside the thigh area and right smack dab in the middle of one's butt. OUCHIE!!!!
How did it find its way out? Don't ask.
When it happens, I copy my post, then click back and check the board to see if my post made it. In every instance except one...it did.
I suggest Halloween for "Matt's Day Off."
I had a hard time posting today too...but it was early this afternoon and only for about an hour.
Everything has been A-OK since.
Groan...That's what you remember? What about your poor sister's headless doll?
BTW, in my younger working years, we used to have a running pinochle game during the lunch hour.
As you should have! Sheesh ;)
Hah!.... *have to spend fortunes on entertaining their kids.*
Not only entertaining them but they demand designer clothing when they should still be playing with dolls...the girls, that is.
I don't think boys are as bad.
Do you think the older generation did things like that more often because there were no computers...and before that no television?
Do you also play chess? My brother...even my son played (before he started school!). They used to laugh at me because I couldn't learn but I got even with them in any card game we played.
I think it's a left brain thingy...or is it the right?
BTW, I've read that Whist was the forerunner for bridge. I found an old Ely Culbertson book at a garage sale...I believe that's where I read it.
