CyberKey Solutions Own Internal Investigation Uncovers Improper Accounting and Reporting Practices as Investigation Continues by the Securities and Exchange Commission
Mar 15, 2007 8:44:00 PM
ST. GEORGE, UT -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/15/07 -- CyberKey Solutions, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: CKYS) announced today that initial results of an internal investigation indicate that a certain company official has utilized improper accounting methods and reporting procedures while handling critical company contracts. CyberKey's accounting and reporting of certain matters may be in violation of the practices governed under securities laws.
Numerous material errors have been recently discovered regarding the Company's accounting for revenues received and accounts receivable generated, and corresponding payables made, pursuant to the fulfillment of a third party contract which the Company reported last year to have been secured with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In November 2006, the Company began to discover information which indicated that this contract was not directly with DHS but instead with a third party distributor that was representing it was having the Cyberkey products delivered directly to DHS facilities in different locations. The Company has discovered that none of the products supposedly sold to this third party distributor had been delivered to DHS as had been represented repeatedly during 2006. And, it appears that none of the revenues from this contract ever were realized by the Company since this third party distributor apparently circumvented the Company's relationship with its manufacturer in China and secured direct payment and delivery of the Cyberkey products without paying Cyberkey anything. This contract represented the then-reported core revenue stream of in excess of $20,000,000 for the Company for 2006, and a corresponding operating profit exceeding $12,000,000.
As of last week, CyberKey's comptroller notified the company's attorney that the financial statements for the last five quarters could not be relied upon as she had improperly entered financial data into the accounting system and had forged critical documents and other material information. She was removed from her position last week.
CyberKey has engaged an independent certified public accountant firm to undertake a comprehensive audit of its financial statements for the past 3 years. All financial matters will be audited and fully reportable when complete.
"I am deeply troubled by the findings related to the accounting practices of our company," stated Jim Plant, CEO and President of CyberKey Solution. "I apologize to our shareholders and the investment community for these problems, which happened on my watch but without my knowledge. I am fully committed to resolving all remaining issues as quickly as possible and to putting the proper remedial measures in place to ensure that this never happens again. We will be releasing corrected financial statements as soon as practicable. We will be updating the investors through our website as more information becomes available."
The company has announced that it is working diligently to develop new contracts with various government agencies and has not changed any of its operational activities, highlighted by its participation at FOSE 2007 booth number 1617 on March 20-22, 2007, in Washington D.C... CyberKey plans to showcase its latest products and solutions to thousands of Federal, State and Department of Defense Agencies -- and will provide interested buyers with a means of initiating government purchases directly from the EXPO via the Department of Defense Emall and directly with the company's GSA partner "Alpha Data Corporation," that will be present at CyberKey's display at the Expo.

SCOLR Pharma Inc enters research collaboration with BioCryst Pharmaceuticals
5:31a ET March 12, 2007 (Prime NewsWire)
SCOLR Pharma Inc (Amex: DDD), a speciality pharmaceutical company, said on 9 March that it is entering into a research collaboration with BioCryst Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: BCRX) to develop an oral formulation of peramivir using the former's proprietary CDT drug delivery platform.
Peramivir is a novel therapeutic being developed by BioCryst for treatment of seasonal and life threatening influenza with a focus on intravenous and intramuscular delivery.
The influenza virus causes an acute viral disease of the respiratory tract. Unlike the common cold and some other respiratory infections, seasonal flu can cause severe illness, resulting in life-threatening complications.
BioCryst will share all appropriate peramivir preclinical and clinical data with SCOLR to support its development efforts. If successful, the parties expect to enter a license agreement which would provide for the potential commercialisation of peramivir.
BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc engages in the design, optimisation and development of novel drugs that block key enzymes involved in cancer, cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases and viral infections.

UPDATE 1-Toyama Chemical begins U.S. trials of bird flu drug
5:37a ET March 12, 2007 (Reuters)
TOKYO, March 12 (Reuters) - Japan's Toyama Chemical Co. Ltd. said on Monday it had begun U.S. trials for a drug to combat bird flu -- one that has a different mechanism from the current class of drugs used to fight the disease.
Toyama Chemical, which is currently in talks with other drug makers about licensing the drug called T-705, said it had started phase I trials -- early trials in healthy humans -- in the United States, in addition to phase I trials recently begun in Japan.
The news sent Toyama Chemical's stock up 6 percent.
The drug maker, small by global standards but regarded by analysts as having a promising drug pipeline, said it hopes T-705 will come to market in the business year beginning in April 2009.
Public health experts are worried the deadly H5N1 avian virus may mutate into a form that can easily be passed between humans, with governments around the world stockpiling Tamiflu, the current frontline treatment made by Swiss drug maker Roche Holding AG .
They are also keen to see alternatives developed amid concerns that the H5N1 strain could develop resistance to Tamiflu.
If T-705 is successfully developed, it has the potential to garner sales of at least 400 billion yen ($3.4 billion) every three years, estimated Mitsubishi UFJ Securities analyst Hiroshi Sakakura.
Sakakura said that T-705 needs a synthesis period of only around three months compared to Tamiflu which requires to 12 months, which means Toyama Chemical may be able to undercut Tamiflu's cost of manufacture and provide the drug more widely to developing countries.
Among possible partners for Toyama Chemical, Sakakura says he thinks GlaxoSmithKline will have the edge.
"They are strong in influenza treatments, are developing a bird flu vaccine and have done basic research with Toyama in infectious diseases," he said.
The current class of drugs used to treat bird flu are called neuraminidase inhibitors which include Tamiflu, GlaxoSmithKline's Relenza and the drug candidate peramivir being developed by BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. .
Whereas neuraminidase inhibitors slow down viral replication, T-705 is a viral RNA polymerase inhibitor which prevents viral replication.
Since the bird flu virus reemerged in 2003, it has killed over 160 people, according to the World Health Organisation.
Toyama Chemical's stock ended up at 867 yen, 6 percent higher on the day and its highest level in a month.

Bloomberg to tell the story that Dateline didn't
by Mark Faulk
It’s been almost two years since NBC’s Dateline caved in to corporate and/or political pressure and delayed their own expose’ on naked short selling, or stock counterfeiting, then aired a segment which this reporter described as: “the most irrelevant piece of fluff ever aired in the history of television. It would be the equivalent of spending a year putting together a documentary on the Watergate scandal, and then editing it down to a ten minute piece about Nixon's dog Checkers.”
Now, Bloomberg Television, is airing a half-hour special report that will hopefully cover the issues that Dateline didn’t have the balls to tackle. Entitled “Phantom Shares,” it airs Tuesday, March 13, at 7:00pm, 9:00pm, and 10:00pm EST.
This is how the network describes the groundbreaking event on their website:
Millions of shares of stock are being sold that may not exist. How? Through an obscure trading strategy known as naked short selling. Bloomberg Television's Special Report hosted by Mike Schneider explains what the strategy is, how it's executed, which companies are targets, and what the SEC is trying to do to control it.

Russia warning pressures Iran over nuclear plant
Mar 12 12:11 PM US/Eastern
Russia warned Iran Monday to expect delays in launching the country's first atomic power station, adding to mounting pressure on Tehran to compromise with the international community over its controversial nuclear programme.
Amid signs of frustration in Moscow over Iran's combative stance, state contractor Atomstroiexport announced that Iranian financial problems mean a probable set-back in completing the power station at Bushehr in southern Iran.
"Insufficient financing of the project means that there is a real delay in the timetable. The delay will probably be two months, according to experts," Atomstroiexport spokeswoman Irina Yesipova told AFP.
Russian engineers are close to finishing Bushehr, jewel in the crown of Iran's nuclear programme, but have repeatedly postponed delivery of atomic fuel and the start-up of the reactor.
Under the latest timetable, fuel had been expected this month, with the reactor launch in September. Russian negotiators arrived in Tehran Monday to discuss resolving the financial squabble at the heart of the postponements.
A fresh delay would be a blow for Iran, coming on top of pressure from Western capitals that accuse Tehran of secret plans for an atomic weapon, as well as the possiblity of new UN sanctions.
There were even signs Monday that Russia, which has lucrative energy and weapons trade in Iran, is losing patience with its partner.
The three main Russian news agencies quoted an unnamed source close to the authorities accusing Iran of "abusing our constructive relations."
"We absolutely do not need Iran getting a nuclear bomb or the potential to make one," the "informed source" was quoted as saying. "We will not play any kind of anti-American games with them."
A nuclear-armed Iran would fundamentally change the balance of power in the flashpoint Middle East, where close US ally Israel is the sole -- if unofficial -- nuclear power.
Iran says it is only interested in generating electricity and has so far received consistent backing from Moscow.
However, the UN Security Council, where Moscow has veto power, is currently discussing a draft resolution on tightening sanctions imposed in December to punish Iran's refusal to suspend uranium enrichment, a process the West fears could have military use.
Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said in Washington Monday that the sanctions were having an impact on Iran, and urged that they be "strengthened and extended without delay."
"The international community must not close its eyes" to the threat posed by Iran, Livni said.
More unexpectedly, hardline Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's reformist predecessor added his voice to the debate, urging compromise with the international community.
Iran should "pay a certain price, and pay it bravely, for talks and not head towards crisis, as well as guaranteeing our rights in future," said Mohammad Khatami, president from 1997 to 2005.
"We must try to prevent the adoption of another resolution," he was quoted as saying by the daily Sanaat va Tose'e.
The mission to Tehran by representatives from Atomstroiexport on Monday followed the failure of talks held in Moscow last week over financial conditions for the Bushehr construction.
Atomstroiexport blames Iran for late payments. But Iran complains that Russian financial problems are to blame.

Welcome and go for it MWM. I have made you asst. mod to add some "character' to the board.
The deletions are causing more and more posters to leave and it also contributes to the thinking AURC is a scam, imo.
"You need to prove that they have profited from the hype"
I don't think anyone has profited from the hype, including me,lol.
Sorry to hear that-I've been in same situation a couple of times recently.
" We have had a lot of Parkin and the boys of summer, Amyot and Papa; dumping shares as they move on to the next Canada promoted theft spree"
Ok, so most on this board are aware of 'Parkin and boys" posting lies in PR's,etc. My question now is who,if anyone, will hold them accountable for illegal activities-OSC,SEC, or Interpol?
What many investors do not understand is that a pink company may be fully legitimate but non-reporting and still be unaware of the stock being scammed.
Why? Because a scammer buys a large block of the stock, hijacks an email address (or uses a botnet) spams the heck out of it, then a day or two later dumps the stock. The new group of "investors" are then left "holding the bag".
Hopefully after the actions of SEC this past week some of these scammers will enjoy their ill gotten gains in the prison candy store! I would love to see them get Bubba as a new boyfriend!
CAU-latest one today with 4-5 spam emails.
So ogclip, have you never seen a scam company use those same statements?
