In additon to the low capex resulting from their proposed open pit mine
Search Minerals has developed a low cost and enviornmentally friendly REE extraction technology;
http://searchminerals.ca/direct-extraction
Direct Extraction Metallurgy
"Recognizing the importance of leveraging the cost advantages provided by the physical location of our FOXTROT Resource, Search Minerals committed early to look at its extraction metallurgy as an opportunity to do more to position as a low-cost supplier. Under the leadership of Dr. David Dreisinger, Search V.P. of Metallurgy, and with investment garnered from Federal and Provincial Government programs, Search developed its breakthrough Patented Direct Extraction Metallurgical Process. After processing over 3.0 tonnes of material representative of the Foxtrot Deposit, the pilot plant testing has clearly demonstrated the ability to produce a high purity mixed rare earth oxide (REO) concentrate. In addition, the pilot plant testing has successfully demonstrated the ability to bring uranium, thorium, zinc, and iron levels below those thresholds expected by refineries that separate mixed REO concentrates into individual rare earth elements (REEs). As important, this proprietary process significantly reduces CAPEX and operational costs while offering a more environmentally conscientious solution for managing waste residue.
Search's Direct Extraction process provides a high purity rare earth oxide concentrate simply by crushing and treating the mineralized rock. This process effectively eliminates the grinding and wet flotation stages of a more conventional extraction processes, reducing the amount of capital equipment required and the amount of electricity and chemical reagents used in operations.
An additional advantage is the elimination of a wet tailings pond. The waste material from this process is in the form of a dry stackable residue which reduces the overall mine footprint and provides the opportunity to return tailings to the open pit area at the time of remediation.
The mill feed is finely crushed and treated with relatively small amounts of sulfuric acid in a kiln at 180°C (low temperature) to render the REE water-soluble. After water leaching, the REE solution is purified by neutralizing the remaining acid. The REE are then precipitated into a concentrate using sodium carbonate. The rare earth carbonate is then re-dissolved in hydrochloric acid to reject remaining impurities. The REE are then precipitate again as a high- grade 98.99% oxide concentrate."

) on Wednesday reported the results of an independent Techno-Economic Assessment for the company's process that enables sustainable extraction of rare earth elements from mineral sand monazite.
The company, which rose 3.9% in Canada yesterday, climbed 10.4% in Frankfurt trading as at 2:47 pm CEST on Wednesday.
The assessment has demonstrated the technical and financial viability of the Medallion Monazite Process at this scale, the company said. Engineering was completed at an assumed 7,000 tons per annum scale.
The report showed that such a facility would deliver about 870 tons per annum of neodymium and praseodymium oxide in cerium-depleted mixed carbonate form. Other products from the Medallion Monazite Process include cerium oxide and trisodium phosphate.
Further, the company reported a capital cost estimate of US$34 million.

P.M.; You? Fallen angel? Nah....Can you do this?
No? (Fallen Angel Yoga pose! More interesting to watch being done I think!)
NioCorp is the fallen angel. Slow summer time waiting for F.A. NioCorp to hit support so it can rise again. It will at some point, but I am getting tired of all the "Buying Opportunities" and would like to have more Selling Opportunities and the chance to buy new transportation, or at least pay off my bills! (along with BM, AO, Kmack, NCT, you and the rest of the board!)
(Promoting stocks...I remember that WalterC has mentioned Elysee Development,ASXSF at times... (Walter-that misquoting Stock Chart on the ASXSF board has been fixed!) I think I (and Chico) have mentioned Search Minerals,SHCMF, another Jr Mining Canadian REE/hafnium long hold Marathon race type stock.)
LM: "P.S. I will add ; while we still have our good health — touch wood
"
Indeed!
P.C. Premarket there was a $1.01 bid and a $1.15 ask. I suspect the market maker was put this range to establish the opening bid. (I don't know that for sure.) The spread was pretty large. Anyway that was my 100 share $1.14 trade on the OTC and was hoping for a bit more support. Someone followed with a out a $1.08 ask annd it has gone downhill from there.
So, history.
All, IH Admin has resolved an issue involving the chart which was displaying an incorrect ASX TSX price for Elysee Development. It has been corrected to show the correct OTC ASXSF price.
Chico; You forgot driving stick shift automobiles without seat belts..
I suspect the July 9th warrants were exercised and the resulting shares or a portion were sold, but we will not know for certain until the September end Quarterly Report.
Summer. I would not be surprised if for the next few weeks we will be in the summer doldrums bobbing around in the stock market equivalent of the Horse latitudes waiting for a breeze of news to blow the share price higher!
Doug. Wow, Titanium is not an easy metal to work with! Kudos to you!
Wikipedia
"As indicated by its negative redox potential, titanium is thermodynamically a very reactive metal that burns in normal atmosphere at lower temperatures than the melting point. Melting is possible only in an inert atmosphere or in a vacuum. At 550 °C (1,022 °F), it combines with chlorine.[7] It also reacts with the other halogens and absorbs hydrogen.[8]
Titanium is one of the few elements that burns in pure nitrogen gas, reacting at 800 °C (1,470 °F) to form titanium nitride, which causes embrittlement."

Doug; "I still have my K&E slide rule. I gave my 6" Picket version to a recent Mechanical Engineer graduate a joke gift. He and his friends spent hours playing with it and thought it was a great graduation gift."
Sort of a joke, but that was the computer used by engineers to send men to the moon! I think I have a K&E from Avionics School down in box with my Dress Blues and some old Radar training material. That was a long time ago.
Kmack; I hope for news regarding pretty quickly regarding the Warrants that expired on Friday, but it will probably just be an Edgar or Sedar filing.
It would be good, as Chico indicates, to get that news on the Rollermill results and REE Content followed up on this long wait for financing!

Chico; More back ground on the Senator:
Sen. Murkowski's public comments are a good thing and echo certain previous comments and actions. Lets hope the current admin in DC takes some action.
It should also be recognized that she did not support NAK/Pebble mine whose permitting was denied by U.S. Corp of Army Engineers. (According to posters on the NAK board their denial was based only on a comparison of similar mining projects and did not even include a site visit.)
Sen. Murkowski is currently facing a strong primary challenge and this might account for some of her current mineral mining position statements.

Murkowski Trails In Early Poll of Re-Election Race
June 9, 2021 at 3:16 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 77 Comments
"A new Change Research poll in Alaska finds Kelly Tshibaka (R) leading the U.S. Senate race on the initial ballot with 39%, followed by Al Gross (D/I) by 25%, and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) by 19%.
Alaska will used (sic) a ranked-choice ballot this year so a second choices would matter." (More at link)
(This mirrors previous articles published in April.)
----------------------------------------------------------------
This earlier legislative initiative complements her most recent postion statement:
https://www.energy.senate.gov/2019/5/murkowski-manchin-colleagues-introduce-bipartisan
U.S. Sens. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., Martha McSally, R-Ariz., and Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, yesterday introduced bipartisan legislation that takes a comprehensive approach to begin reducing the United States’ dependence on foreign minerals. Murkowski made the announcement about S. 1317, the American Mineral Security Act, yesterday morning while delivering remarks at the Benchmark Minerals Summit...(Snip...more at link)
------------------------------------------------------
In opposition to that stand, there is her opposition to the Pebble Mine.
https://www.eenews.net/stories/1061707775
Snip..."While Murkowski is often a powerful advocate for oil and gas and timber development in her vast state, her position on mining projects is often more nuanced.
Take for instance the deeply controversial Pebble mine, a proposed gold and copper mine that is strongly opposed by environmentalists and fishing interests, who fear its impact on the sockeye salmon population in nearby Bristol Bay.
For years, Murkowski has highlighted the need for a thorough assessment of environmental impacts, something she emphasized in a September event.
She said the project should not proceed if federal regulators cannot address environmental "deficiencies" in the permitting process (Greenwire, Sept. 19)...(..Snip, more at link if interested.)
------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, I think that most of her "SE Alaska" comments were directed at UCORE and its separation facility. (For now...) Along with NioCorp they applied for the DOD Grants (Awarded to Australian company Lynas If I Recall correctly...)
We will see if the administration attempts to provide her with some legislative wine and reelection support since she is would be more likely to vote their way in the Senate than any Republican replacement.

They also list the outstanding warrants extending into 2025. Every one of them is already "in the money."
(**Note that 3 or 4 previous directors left the board. Bad Sign!)
After you do this then you can review their recent press releases.
My thought, without too much analysis, is that unless there is some sort of government help, they need to produce product on their joint processing agreement this year just to remain in business. To me this fell in the category of a highly risky speculative investment. I might have put $200 or $300 dollars into it but because I would pay $50 foreign transaction fee going in AND Getting out I passed. I think there are safer investments with a better chance of success.
I am not a financial analyst or anything, and while I hope Vital Metals succeeds, i would everyone should do their own due diligence and make up their own minds on whether to invest!
Chico237,Douginil,all; Canadian Government Proposals to "secure a supply of critical minerals..."

MINING.COM Staff Writer | June 24, 2021 | 6:06 am Battery Metals Canada Cobalt Copper Graphite Lithium Nickel Rare Earth
"A report of the Standing Committee on Natural Resources presented before the House of Commons rang the alarm bell on how important it is for Canada to secure a supply of critical minerals, particularly in the face of China’s dominance." Snip...
"....Support for the creation of processing facilities is also mentioned as an important tactic to increase the number of markets for critical minerals in the country and to build a domestic industry and domestic expertise.
According to the report, this can be achieved by helping set up demonstration facilities for promising value-added product manufacturing, ensuring no duplication with provincial facilities, as well as by assessing the possibility of expanding the scope of financial and tax measures, such as the Mineral Exploration Tax Credit and the flow-through share system.
In addition, it is being suggested that the federal government should support research on critical minerals, including the development of research infrastructure and technological innovation platforms and encourage initiatives to develop mining and mineral processing activities that reduce the sector’s environmental impact."

Chico my friend, thank you! So at this point Search is working in conjunction with the Government of Saskatchewan to get a separation facility up and running!
If the proposed schedule is followed Search could be processing REES in late 2022 or early 2023. The SP is currently in a $.13 to $.20 USD range, so a good time to accumulate shares!
NCT; RE. "i am quite sure etc" Tommy, I have to agree with you 100%!
"Hopefully you will relax on Monday as well...."
Thank you! I will! And hope you do too! (End of 2018 I had a stroke and retired, so a pretty mandatory thing at this point!)
"We had a good week..... very encouraging"
Yes We did, and lets hope it continues Monday and for us in the U.S., Tuesday!
CritM3; Agreed! If a warrant holder needs to quickly sell his or her shares to cover the cost of exercising the warrant, they may be willing to accept a lower at market price. If this is happening its an opportunity for buyers. (I just looked, and its $1.18.)
Anyway, the U.S. Markets will be closed Monday, so everyone relax. I expect it to go up on Tuesday.
That said, everyone should do their own due diligence and make their own decisions when investing. Do not rely on my opinions! GLTA! Have a good July 4th!
Element41; (May I Call you Nb?) Yes!
There is profit taking too. People need to occasionally take profits because they need to pay bills and things. (An unrealized gain is not a gain until you sell!) And that is OK. No stock goes up in a straight line.
O.I.; dropping share price. Possibilities.
1) As mentioned Its Friday and prices tend to drop on Fridays and before Holidays.
2) There is a likelihood that some of this decline represents selling in conjunction with Warrant exercise. Remember that there are a number of warrants that expire this month (07/09 and 07/31)
So, When you exercise an in-the-money warrant it allows you to you purchase shares from the issuing company at a lower prices, say, $0.80, and at the same you probably sell some portion of those shares at $1.30 to cover the cost of that purchase. In this case you retain some portion of the shares. Alternatively, you sell them all and retain the $.50 / share difference as profit in your warrant exercise.
Because you are dealing with a time sensitive process you are somewhat constrained by the current market price and will probably sell warrant conversion shares at a lower price than if you were working with shares you already held. (like most of us here!) this would tend to drive down the price.
3) The SEC Notice of described something that is dilutive, an increase in the number of total issued shares. This can result in a lower share price in the open market.
Note that IF this is the result of a warrant exercises, it should result in additional money for company operations. Ultimately good for the company and therefore shareholders. It will take time to reflect in the shareprice.
Use this as an opportunity to pick up some additional shares (i did!)and do not worry about it over the weekend.
A.O. Lets hope there is enough political will if not to fund Elk Creek at least to ALLOW it to be developed!
Elk Creek has a major advantage in being on privately owned land and holds approved permits with a low EV. Footprint and hits the sweet spot of the Strategic Mineral Resources list.
In contrast, consider the NAK/Pebble Mine AU/CU project situated on public land subject to Envio-nxxx oversight. According to posters on the NAK Board, the Federally employed permit reviewers did not even bother to visit the physical site but based their disapproval on a review of "substantially similar mining projects." Great! Watch peoples investments circling the drain!
So, my opinon; everyone should do their own D.Diligence before investing.
Chico; Thanks! I will tell you that I did expect gold prices to go up after Basel III and and Canada tends to treat mining better than the current U.S. Administration! But no, not much change to the AU price at this time.
AO, (Chico237); In response to your post, Here is a paper regarding Elk Creek REEs based on the original MolyCorp drill cores at Elk Creek. NioCorp has done additional drilling so has updated information on which to evaluate the economic feasibility of REE separation.
( I have NOT done a back thread search so someone may have posted this before!)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
https://gsa.confex.com/gsa/2014NC/webprogram/Paper237855.html
Our study utilizes drill core from Molycorp’s 1970s and 1980s exploration program; this core is now housed at the University of Nebraska
"In our study, the chemical compositions of 25 samples of various carbonatite lithologies were determined to characterize general features of the carbonatite. Much of the carbonatite has REE patterns similar to other carbonatites (moderate LREE enrichment with a negative slope); however, zones of high LREE enrichment (La to 53,100 ppm) and zones of enrichment of the more valued middle and heavy REEs (Eu, Gd, Tb, and Dy) have been identified. The zones of relatively high LREE enrichment generally occur within narrow sections of the barite beforsite and the apatite beforsite. Petrographic and microprobe analysis of samples with the greatest LREE concentrations have identified late-stage, fine-grained, LREE-rich phosphates (monazite) and LREE-rich fluocarbonates (parasite and synchysite). The zones containing middle and heavy REE enrichments (and a relative depletion in LREEs) occur within the magnetite beforsite, which is the Nb-rich lithology of Elk Creek. Mineralogical studies are underway to characterize the REE-hosts of this recently identified, anomalous middle and heavy REE enrichment."
---------------------------------------------------------------------
So; The greatest LREEs in the Molycorp Drilling program were found in areas of Monazite: The HREEs with in The Nb Rich areas of mineralization.
Again, NioCorp has access to the results of their later drilling programs.
(Related: Note that there is a firm, Medallion Resources, whose focus is extracting REEs from Monzanite sand feedstocks along the gulf coast. Medallion has an agreement with privately held firm Rare Earch Salts in Beatrice NE regarding final processing. I am not aware of any contact or connections between either firm and NioCorp.)

All; 10,000 Metres Drilling Campaign at Newmont Lake
June 30th, 2021, Kelowna, British Columbia – Enduro Metals Corporation (TSXV: ENDR OTCQB: ENDMF FSE: SOG-FF) (“Enduro Metals” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the Company has mobilized field crews for a fully-funded 10,000 metre diamond drilling program this summer within the Company’s 654 square kilometre Newmont Lake Project situated in the heart of BC’s prolific Golden Triangle.
The exploration program will also include a deep penetrating ORION SWATH and a Titan magnetotelluric (“MT”) ground-based geophysical surveys by Quantec Geoscience. Combining deep penetrating IP (“Induced Polarization”) and MT technologies has never been conducted on the Newmont Lake Project. This approach is aimed at delineating the scalability of several target areas on the property as these two geophysics systems combined provide a detailed image of geophysical responses at depth.
Several infrastructural improvements have also began including upgrades to the Company’s airstrip to allow for larger aircraft, several structural improvements have also begun for an anticipated extended drilling campaign, wildlife, and environmental baseline studies to extend the permittable drilling timeframe, and surveying work to establish an improved winter road into the Newmont Lake Camp.
The fully-funded drill program is designed to test the highest priority targets resulting from 2.5 years of extensive grassroots exploration and research. Included in the campaign will be the first-ever drilling of the Chachi Central Zone (“CCZ”), Havana, and Burgundy’s Green Rock Breccia; all of which are targets identified by the Company as being prospective for large-scale, multi-element grassroots discoveries.
Site mobilization has already commenced which includes our professional geological team. Our CEO, Cole Evans & COO, Dylan Hunko are currently onsite ground truthing drill targets and supervising preparations. The drilling team is expected to arrive by the end of this week. The first drill targets are located in the Chachi Corridor.
Enduro’s President & CEO Cole Evans states, “The 2021 exploration season is an amalgamation of everything our technical team has learned over the past 2.5 years of systematic exploration across our large land package. We are focused on testing targets we believe have the highest potential of being a top-tier exploration discovery in one of the hottest mining/exploration jurisdictions in the world. The road to this point has not been quick or easy, but it has positioned Enduro to have an exceptional exploration season purpose built to put the scale, optionality, and mineral endowment of the Newmont Lake Project on the radar of the world’s biggest mining companies.”

grunt23: I requested this information! Thank you for maintaining and posting this information!
There are 2 sets of warrants that are currently in the money and will expire in the next month, July 2021.
Warrants Proceeds to NioCorp if exercised
1,035,319 C$ 0.77 July 9, 2021 1,035,319 * C$0.77 = C$ 797,195
2,607,750 C$ 0.79 July 26, 2021 2,607.750 * C$0.79 = C$ 2,060,122
Since these are expiring and in the money I do expect the holders of these warrants to exercise them--if they have not already--and then sell all or some portion of those shares to pay for their purchase.
IF all the warrants are exercised this would result in C $2,857,317 of new Capital for NioCorp to fund operations or pay down debt.
The extent to which this dilutes total NioCorp shares depends on whether NioCorp can take these shares from a holding of their Treasury Shares or will need to issue new shares. (I do not think that Niocorp has very many treasury shares ? so probably will need to issue them.)
The result of this is, to me, in spite of any dilution, is positive because it increases working capital for the company. It also provides a positive signal to prospective shareholders because the share price is increasing.

"The testing, conducted at the Natural Resources Research Institute (“NRRI”) of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, in partnership with Weir Minerals, is expected to culminate in the preparation of a 3-metric tonne metallurgical sample to be used for flowsheet optimization and rare earth recovery studies."
---They have or will have a sample they can use to look at for REE recovery. (Scandium/Niobium and Titanium are knowns!)
"NioCorp’s metallurgical consulting partner, L3 Process Developments, has completed initial testwork and studies related to flowsheet optimization and rare earth recovery for the Project’s planned surface processing facility. The Company continues to evaluate the results of this work as part of the overall effort to determine the economics around adding rare earth recovery to the project’s flowsheet."
----See above. COMPLETED Studies regarding REES
"Work is expected to commence shortly on the collection of additional historic drill core samples and the submittal of those samples for rare earth analysis to fill in gaps in coverage for the rare earths in the Company’s drill hole database."
------Historical samples may include those were referenced in U/NE Doctoral Thesis and or anything drilled by Molycorp drilling if they have access to them to see any location with high REE Concentrations.
"The Company has completed an internal study of the markets for rare earth products, focusing on the potential growth of those markets driven by the anticipated demand for the magnetic rare earths (Neodymium, Praseodymium, Terbium, Dysprosium) and the resulting long-term expectations related to pricing."
----They have COMPLETED a study of what they can get for the completed product.
While THEY do not know any material fact that would justify the price rise, they DO provide an updated status regarding the possibility of adding REEs to their mineral product portfolio that justify the additional interest we seen in Niocorp. In view of the Strategic Materials Initiative, the inclusion of REEs provides and additional incentive for Financiers or for the U.S. Government to provide loan guarantees!
(I am not making any recommendation to buy or sell NioCorp Stock. Everyone should do their own Due Diligence when investing!)

I suspect that there are a lot of previously issued warrants that are above the strike price and in the money, which if exercised should result in the purchase (and sale!) of NioCorp shares. (Treasury shares? Or New issue.) I know someone has this info.... Grunt??
Then there is this..... Lind can buy but not sell until 9-11-2021 (Lousy date choice...)
CENTENNIAL, Colo., May 11, 2021– NioCorp Developments Ltd. (“NioCorp” or the “Company”) (TSX:NB) (OTCQX:NIOBF) is pleased to announce that it has closed its previously announced non-brokered private placement (the “Private Placement”) of units (the “Units”) of the Company. A total up-sized offering of 4,334,157 Units were issued at a price per Unit of C$1.43, for total gross proceeds to the Company of approximately C$6.2 million.
The pricing of the Units was set at a premium to the five-day Volume Weighted Average Price (“VWAP”) of NioCorp common shares just prior to the launch of the offering.
Each Unit consists of one common share of NioCorp (a “Common Share”) and one common share purchase warrant (a “Warrant”). Each Warrant will entitle the holder to acquire one Common Share at a price of C$1.63 until May 10, 2023. Snip.....
All of the securities sold pursuant to the offering are subject to a four-month hold period, which will expire on September 11, 2021."
I would normally complain about dilution, but the price is going up.

The NioCorp Developments Ltd could be in sharp focus today among investors after it soared by as much as 17% yesterday amidst heavy action. It is true that there was no news about the company yesterday but in light of the gains made by the NioCorp Developments (OTCMKTS:NIOBF) stock, investors could do well to track the stock today.
It was back on June 9 that the company announced that it was going to deploy its High-Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR) technology when it starts work on the testing of its Elk Creek Project ore. It is a significant development for NioCorp and it might have been a factor in the latest rally in the stock.
However, another important thing to remember is that the company’s HPGR technology is set to be deployed for the process. It has been claimed that HPGR technology not only emits low amounts of carbon but is also energy efficient when it comes to the reduction of the size of an ore. Reduction of the size of an ore is essential when it comes to discovering rare earth materials. While there has been no recent news about the company, investors could consider keeping a close eye on any new developments.
Market Reaction:
On Monday, NIOBF stock gained 17.35% to $1.17 with more than 872k shares, compared to its average volume of 227k shares. The stock has moved within a range of $1.0000 – 1.2300 after opening the trade at $1 Over the past 52-week, the stock has been trading within a range of $0.5400 – 1.6500."

Chico; Precisely! Good but minor news. I really hope that there is something out there besides this driving this S/P increase.
Chico237,P.M.,B.M.A.O., All. Scandium news. This probably constitutes a slide given today's price run up! It is positive in the sense that it may result in another potential source/producer of scandium within the Continental U.S. I hope that this is not the only reason for the S/P increase.
https://www.bloomberg.com/press-releases/2021-06-28/scandium-international-and-nevada-gold-mines-sign-loi-to-pursue-critical-metals-recovery-at-phoenix-mine
"RENO, NV / ACCESSWIRE / June 28, 2021 / Scandium International Mining Corp.
(TSX:SCY) ("Scandium International" or the "Company") and Nevada Gold Mines
("NGM"), have signed a Letter of Intent ("LOI") to initiate a joint technical
and economic feasibility program at NGM's Phoenix Mine, near Battle Mountain,
Nevada. The purpose of this joint development program is to confirm the
economic and technical viability of a critical metals recovery ("CMR") project
at the mine site. The LOI defines a detailed US$2.7 million spend program
which includes bench test work, pilot plant testing, and feasibility study
design work. The program is anticipated to require 15 months to complete. With
program completion, the partners intend to take an investment decision on
construction and operation of a plant facility to recover critical metals from
mine solutions. The LOI also outlines key parameters of a partnership,
including formation of a joint venture to hold the plant facility, and a 50:50
ownership in the recovery circuit asset.
The project is envisioned as an ion-exchange recovery system, capturing
critical metals that are currently recirculating in heap leach copper
solutions at Phoenix, specifically targeting nickel, cobalt, scandium, zinc
and potentially other metals that prove to be economically recoverable."
