No worries! So, I don't know your filing status, but here are the LT Cap gain rates for a single person.
0% Up to $40,400
15% $40,401 to $445,850
20% Over $445,850
If you sell all your shares at... 30 cents lets say, then that's roughly $775,000 in cap gains.
If you sell all this year, then you're going over $445k and hitting the 20% bracket.
However, if you sell half this year and half next, then your rate is likely 15%. I don't know about all your other financial situations... but if you're waiting until fall anyway... it's at least worth a consider to sell up to your bracket cutoff, and then wait til Jan 2022 to sell the rest.
Happy to discuss further when you have additional posts, but for now, just google the capital gains rates and you can see this anywhere on the webzzz...
Good luck!
very cool, sounds like a plan! You bought in at the right time so congrats on that.
Not sure what your bracket is like, but if you space the sells out over into 2022, you might be able to take it down to 15% capital gains?
Either way, congrats on the score here!
this is certainly a nice boost heading into med recylcer decision within the next 4 weeks. I think it will draw additional attention to the opportunity here.
Love seeing the price increase, because it's always good to be green... but not selling :)
Good luck to us all!
Great find!
thanks!
I look forward to seeing that.. Not anxious, though, b/c I'm holding either way. If you've got some good DD< consider posting it on reddit. 1.6mil members of the penny stock group and I'm sure some would love tosee it.
I think it's exciting that there was a blurb about funding for Medrecycler. I really think it's getting approved. WE'll see!
30 days... We'll know one way or another.
I don't see any reason we don't eclipse the highs of January if the news is better.
I do think it's an odd time to sell for 3 cents. Not a criticism... it's just that any calculation of the risk/reward potential payoff is telling me to buy, and I wonder what numbers others are using to arrive at something different.
If there is a point where they're legally required to invite me to participate in a class or something, then at that point of course they'd be legally required to let me know. Until then, no.
Would I like to know? of course. Am I entitled? No.
Nothing more for me to say here, saving my posts for another ticker.
Good luck to us all!
I would be unhappy BIlly stole $.... of course I wouldn't be ok with it. Who would?
These are two separate issues though..... me being unhappy with Billy or concerned about theft doesn't mean I'm entitled to know what someone else is doing with their funds. I'm a random person on the internet, who, like you, can't afford a lawyer. If another investor can... bless their heart... but they don't owe me anything.
I guess I understand that.
However.
1. We don't know of any other opportunities that would have been lost.
2. We don't know of any costs (I'd guess we're not putting up a lot)
Without even looking ( lol) I agree (lol) that the website isn't great... but who cares.. I just see the glass half full. This is at the very least neutral, and appears positive.
With price up today, i think that's the general view.
AUZZIE AUZZIE AUZZIE
OI OI OI
I think that's a thing, right?
Funny thing I heard, not sure if it's true... but just about everything in AUS can kill you... whereas right across the pond in NZ... virtually nothing living is poisonous or dangerous. I just hope Nick is safe over there!
Who would it be unfair to????????
If someone has hired a lawyer, good on them. I appreciate it!
Further, if a lawyer has been hired... whoever did so owes nothing to the rest of us. I get to benefit at their expense. If they wish to tell us about it sometime... great! If not, I don't see how we're any worse off.
____________
"But not knowing if there is, in fact, legal shareholder representation on the record before this judge is not fair to the shareholders.
Simply stating that is or isn't the case does not violate any ethical, moral or legal position."
nothing here to be against. no worse off than yesterday, right?
I have not looked at the site. I'm not extremely worried about that though.. If they're not looking for investors, then I could see them not putting a lot into making the site robust.
Is it going to make us rich tomorrow? no.
But... it's better than nothing. I like that Nick is pursuing opportunities and I hope to see things work out.
I don't think it's a bad thing!
I'd be curious to hear if they plan to use our new panels. Let's get that stuff going!
Very few people 'bailed'. 8m shares have traded to far, about 1% of what's out there. It's higher than normal for sure, but nothing like the 200-300m volume we saw in January. If and when we get medrecycler approval, it seems we'd see those volumes again.
I think most holders are not selling on this news and at these prices. It may be good for a short-term flip, but for people who've been holding through all the ups and downs the past year... this is nothing more than a blip... albeit a very positive one.
I didn't sell my shares for 15 cents, certainly not selling them for 3. I think a lot of others feel the same.
Seems like great things are coming here. These deals take a TON of legwork, and this shows that Nick is still on his game.
Exciting times for this Co.!
love it! Nick is always working so hard.
mexico.. australia.. This guy is on it!! I know we've had our rough patches, but I really don't think we could ask for a better CEO. Can't wait to see what's next!
I agree that all signs you cite here point to him trying to exclude shareholders.
I know you don't believe there's an email. I believe there is, but I think we'd draw the same conclusion, which is that whatever is in there can't be trusted with all this other stuff going on.
Carter can create all the waterfalls he wants, but if he is disproportionately enriching himself, it won't stand up. If he took loans for personal expenses, I see no reason that the payoff shouldn't come out of his share. Not saying he wants it to be that way, but I think he's not the sole determining factor. Others in the waterfall are going to want it to stand up.. they want their $. THey don't want any shenanigans to keep their funds locked up. We'll see what happens!
her complaint came along well before settlement. How can you know it was a part of a settlement that hadn't happened yet?
I don't know if any of the stuff alleged in the TRO is true. Do you?
Who told you "it was going to be" entered into the settlement agreement?
WHere are you getting your information? Diedre?
Unless you have a good source, I don't see how your opinions are any more 'fact' than the emails from Carter you keep saying didn't happen.
that's your opinion. We live in a country of laws. If you don't like them, there are plenty of countries that don't care about the law, people just do what they want. Give China a shot.
You calling people patent trolls doesn't change the law. As much as you post about the law on here, you should know that.
Either way, they have settled or are about to, so you're bringing up a settled issue... literally.
I don't know, nor do I care...
No need to litigate (or even disagree about) what is settled or in process of settling.
Defendants either have settled or want to settle, so it looks like you were wrong on this one.
The question was about the waterfall and what % of the settlement shareholders should get. No need to get philosophical about whether there should actually be a settlement or not....
I know there are complexities... but if our technology and catholyte is able to make essentially worthless wells now yield thousands$ per day, then there has got to be a way. Whatever the cost, our exponential increase in production should more than cover it.
I don't mean to minimize the effort it would take... but if this is truly as revolutionary as some early numbers I saw, then it would be worth jumping through the hoops.
Why would you give the waterfall any validity? Are you calling that a 'fact'?
I agree that no one cares for shareholders but shareholders but I disagree that the thinking that we'll get 33% is any more 'wishful' than you thinking that we'll get 0%.
We'll just have to see.
What do you think is legal/right/just? That's where it should land.
probably making sure everything looks right for a potential uplist.
I get the frustration, but i imagine none of us would be selling right now even if the FINS were out, and I don't think it will have a huge impact long term.
So... I just see it as a short term discount on an item that will be fully remedied at some point in the future.
It is strange to not have them yet, but I don't believe there's anything shady going on.
That's what seems odd, and that's where I'm coming from. If no one else is seeing the value... let's buy up these non-producing wells and prove it. Brett Rosen could front a few million to get started, and we could probably raise a bit through a rights offering.
I know it sounds crazy... and I'm not saying it's practical.... I just like the idea of keeping to the door open to capturing value if others are unwilling to.
yeah I'm hoping for paper here. A nickel does nothing for me... except ensures that I HODL! :)
DE I know you are a man of means but this is a more general question.
At this point.. where we are today... would it not make sense for someone to go buy up these declining production wells for less than pennies on the dollar?
Seems that the money to be made here is not so much in pctl, but in extracting oil from wells the market considers valueless.
Have you considered purchasing some wells of your own and vertically integrating? If not you, would it make sense for pctl to purchase some of these and do it ourselves?
Seems like a very small investment would be needed to capture the point at which the real value is created here. Have you or Gary looked into this type of integration?
Good luck sir!
lol this is not a great post sir. One year forecast of 6 cents??? 5 years 17 cents? It was twice the 5 yr forecast a few months ago.
I'm glad they see it going up and not down, but this is depressing. If we get approval, I'm hoping to see much better!
around this time they also said they had 6 facilities producing the panels. It has seemed a lot more 'imminent' in the past than it does right now. I can wait I suppose.
thanks JK1. Glad to know progress has been made and it's not just made up. Do you remember the date of this post, and do you know how quickly it usually happens?
Maybe we've asked them to keep us off lists because of proprietary stuff?
thanks! hope to see it there soon. I believe we deserve an explanation for why it's not there already. They've created websites lauding all the specs... Least they could do is get the process going.
I know we hear about MedRecycler soon and I see no reason why our price doesn't eclipse where it was before so it's an exciting time to be a shareholder, but it's dissappointing that UL stuff seems to be far behind where we thought it was.
Holding, but frustrated.
GLTA!
since you message Nick, why not ask him about UL?
That's messed up! This was supposed to be ever so close to happening. THe longer we go on, it seems the further we get.
Does your friend have any links or resources where we can verify this?
Frustrating to say the least. Hopefully this has changed recently, but still..
Whether Carter reached out to shareholders or not doesn't matter to me.
I agree that it seems he doesn't have interest in sharing, and I agree that the waterfall is not good for shareholders.
I disagree that he has absolute authority to make those calls.
Have a great weekend!
when is the div going to be here? Im not clear whether we have to vote first, or whether we get $ first. Either way, it's an interesting point you make that if he says he's working with the TA, then we must be viable.
Im not trying to start anything, but curious as to your explanation for the UO!IP carveout. I know it doesn't concern you, but am curious why. Do you think Diedre is making that up ( possible). Thanks for your thoughts!
Thanks!
Why do you think that? I don't disagree, but I've gotten the impression that the profits per well go up so much that we'll be able to sell the stuff as fast as we can make it.
Do you think it's because potential users would be waiting for phase 2 results, or it would take a while to integrate Catholyte, or what?
Now that we know that it works, I am curious what the bottleneck would be to getting everyone to use it? I'm sure it's not as easy as it looks, but this stuff seems like it will sell itself.
I guess the issue is education, but the report seems pretty easily broken down into a cost/benefit analysis where our product is pretty clearly on the + end. What other barriers am I missing?
Good evening! We know results were good and know we're going to make bank over the long term.
I am curious what everyone thinks will really get this started in the near term.
The report is obviously good, but is it going to take a month to translate into big revenues, a year, or what? Is the market going to adopt this approach extremely quickly, or will people be stubborn?
=I'd like to think there will be a lot of early adopters, but I don't know if it's something complex that people would need months to learn and understand, or is it simply just shooting a water like substance in a well, and within 5 minutes of reading our report... someone could just go start doing it?
Thanks for thoughts!
I hear you... but what difference will it make? I can't think of anything we'd get where I wouldn't be thinking "We're still in the minority".
If I was a CEO, and we just had a big win, and shareholders were going to get a windfall.. You can bet that I would have put out a PR, had a meeting, and let them know. I suspect that any mailing may be a formality, and would bring up more questions than answers.
Certainly looking forward to it, but complacency is the enemy here. I don't think we should count on this mailing to solve our issues.
I agree with and second this.
Relax.... but don't take anything for granted. I don't think any $$$ is going to get to us without a fight so let's be ready to pitch in if help is needed.
I don't think anyone has ever known any answers to the questions you've asked on here :)
