The nonstop pump is incredible. I’m invested here and bullish for my own reasons but the same pump posts over and over actually turn people off. It’s not the cure. It will be a treatment. And for humanity’s sake I sure hope the early whispers of hope here can be scientifically validated, sooner than later. GLTA

Salvo. Nice! Surf fishing The Point on Hatteras is one of my most favorite things in life.
I truly wish it happens for you. Never give up.
It would be better if folks left true medical updates to the Doctors treating him without spreading false sense of hope. Don’t get me wrong I pray for his family that he makes it. It’s a dire situation for his family and friends. Be sensitive. You don’t know when someone is or isnt going to pass.

Hello Siri - please place me an order for Rosetta Stone Chinese
I've been in sales my entire career. Bring it on!
My point to you is none of us can change what happened in March. You have to reevaluate and at time shift your strategy, even if it means going against what you believed in the past. I was against GIA EU before. Until the March ruling. If reversed, then we still have the entire pie and then the board BO talk will run rampant.
China GIA. Now you're on to something!
Hmm...what changed in the past year...oh I don't know maybe losing the US puts the importance of fully retaining the EU in perspective. You give it up, or give half up, then where's the shareholder value you speak of? It's very easy to pick on JT all day...less easy to try to navigate where we are today ONLY as a result of Du.
Every action comes with critics and supporters. If they announced GIA as standalone then folks would complain there’s no strategy behind it. Now, even with the announcement of Karim’s hiring the board “give the new guy too much hope”? Seems no matter what the company does or doesn’t do that both sides always show up. I have hope his hiring is just what we need to build a solid EU foundation, with the assumption US is lost. Just like for months and months the gripes about no DTC updates then the commercials come out and “they suck” and “what’s with all the faces” comments. There were a fair share of negative posts on the commercials and it’s misdirected. We all have choices and personally I think it’s easier to close your position, start the healing of any losses and move on rather than make miserable comments day in and day out about something you have little control over. This isn’t directed at you circuitcity at all. I’m just making a statement about the general commentary related to any actions or lack there of. GLTY
Yesterday afternoon I sent Karim a message wishing him nothing but support and positive vibes in his new role, for which he responded. He later went on to state his own sentiments of excitement about this “unique” opportunity (a word I used in my note to him). Here’s what I liked most...
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to build a highly capable, experienced and efficient team in Europe and to help millions of at-risk patients with a new proven treatment option for an unmet medical need while creating a new standard of care!”
Once in a lifetime.

Uncertain of the events surrounding his departure from Merck, someone in his position would likely have a non-competition agreement in place, usually for a specified period of time. Approx two years has passed since his departure so any time in that agreement should be up and his free agency led him to us. JMO
All I hear is noise from the same sour grapes.
Everyone should try and focus on enjoying what’s left of this unique 2020 summer, ahead of, yet again, one of the biggest days in the history of the company.

jasbg I think about it all the time just not in a sour way. Woulda coulda shoulda. And will we really be different/better going forward? Meaning if the appeal is won, what’s the next negative catalyst that could cripple us? I’m struggling to see one but given the track record I don’t believe I’m willing to take that risk again. If there’s one positive in all of this it’s the fact this happened during a pandemic. Most mom and pop shops aren’t coming back from this so we should feel fortunate scripts (and the lowball 2020 revenue forecast we all griped about) are where they are and so far haven’t fallen off a cliff. So what’s the next play then? Sell out and recognize the gains after a very tumultuous ten years? Or...wait for it...hold firm and wait for the BO that you know would come just after I sold. Smh. Probably not. Gotta take some off the table this time around and figure another play to ensure I don’t miss that potential, which is what I expected to happen instead of the way it went in March. Fool me once, fool me twice. It won’t happen a third time. Surely it will be diversification time with the proceeds.
Marjac thanks for the message and I’m 100% interested. Appreciate it.
Amen, Irish. Thanks for the support and wishing you and all longs nothing but positivity and prosperity now and in the future.
True story and I don’t mind sharing, since the word on the street is you keep a spreadsheet of people’s investments here. Your “care to explain” sounds a little snarky but I don’t take offense to questions about being a below average investor here, since I don’t owe anything to anyone but myself. If someone can learn from my mistakes then I’ll gladly take a few pints in return and swap more life stories.
My first purchase in 2010 was only for 500 shares after a buddy I work with mentioned AMRN to me. Not a lot but it wet the whistle and notwithstanding I proceeded to make the worst timed trades ever, upping my share count to 23K the summer of 2013 (@$7 avg), pretty much betting the farm ahead of the adcom. Like I said, I learned a lot.
Now holding just under 70K shares at half that avg and I’m up a decent amount but made the fatal mistake of not taking my original investment off the table because I felt so strongly about positive catalysts in 2019. I, like most, didn’t see the Du verdict coming however I’m young enough to recover from it so while it stung really, really bad this year, I have a healthy family, one amazing son, one more on the way, a great wife, a good career and fairly solid retirement account. This was supposed to be gravy for the rest of life, college educations, etc., and I truly believe I will see it again. I’ve been down but never panicked and sold when everyone screamed game over. I take my 4 grams daily and remain positive.
GL to you as well.
Thanks James. He’s beyond fantastic and honestly the only thing that matters in my life right now. That is, until his baby brother arrives next month and then he has to share the love.
My investment here has taught me a lot, not just about science and law but that sometimes in life you need to take the sure thing. I didn’t do that I’m 2019 and you can be sure upon an appeal win that you won’t see the same level of carelessness I showed post FDA approval. With the subsequent seven figure (plus) drop in my holdings it was one of the worst days ever. I read JL’s post a while back how he lost over 600K (I think that was the number) during one round of golf. Right there with him and then some. The March Du ruling, for me, was ten times worse than the 2013 adcom scenario only because of how much I poured in from 2014-2017 while averaging down. We all make mistakes in life but it’s what you do when you get back up that’s helps paint the rest of your picture.
I used to post a lot on ST but that was mainly to talk shit to the day trading short bashers, you know, the ones who have multiple accounts talking in circles to themselves. After Du I stopped going to the site and came here full time as it’s a much better forum. I prefer the content and host of posters (characters) so much more here.
Appreciate the support and will add more going forward.
Your post essentially summed up exactly what I’ve been dealing with. My actions, or lack of action, at $20+ is my own fault. Greed is good. And God awful.
We need a Ctrl/Alt/Delete on 2020
Here’s my best case scenario, which is not out of the realm of possibility in the next 12 month.
Appeal win back to $20
Europe approval to $28
Covid trial benefits to $35
BO to $46
Worst case we lose appeal and are stuck in this rut until each of us get beyond disgusted and sell out with or without getting any max value from EU, which I believe will prop us up for a period of time to sell at a level at least double today.
It’s been a long ten years for me and yet I still have this feeling in my gut that something good is coming our way. We’ve been beaten down repeatedly yet I’m holding my half full glass very, very tight.
GL to you.

Thanks Raf. Good stuff. Had my second back to back negative yesterday
Agreed. This is not language from Amarin nor have I ever seen it on instructions from my local pharmacies - CVS/Walgreens, etc. Express Scripts provided their own additional sticker/label with patient and RX info and the GENERIC NAME which we know is not accurate because generic V doesn’t exist
Question about V packaging/labeling on the bottle.
Our insurance provider changed the beginning of the year and I’m assuming this is just a labeling issue and/or mislabeled by the provider, however on the side of my bottles of V, what appears to be an additional sticker (from Express Scripts) listing patient name and Rx details, it lists the following:
Patient Name
Vascepa Caps 1gm
GENERIC NAME: Icosapent Ethyl
Take 2 Capsules Twice A Day
As there is no generic for V, are there thoughts as to why this is showing GENERIC NAME? Again it’s not anything I’ve seen on previous bottles and caught my eye upon the recent switch to 90 day mail order delivery. Shouldn’t it instead be listed as ACTIVE INGREDIENT?
The Covid mystery continues.
The locally sponsored drive thru Covid tests that myself and my wife received yesterday both came negative which could possibly mean one of the following.
1. My antibody test earlier in the week was a false negative
2. My first Covid test earlier in the week was a false positive
3. Covid was present (positive) for my first test and has now left my body, proven by second test (negative), which makes me scratch my head even more since my wife’s first test came back negative only 48 hours after my positive test. I would have expected hers to also be positive if I was actively infected. My wife also went to a local walk-in on Thursday for both Covid and antibody tests, with both results not received yet.
My primary care physician now recommends another test. A second negative Covid test “should” occur this week and to then wait 21 days before getting the antibody test, since it would take our bodies some time to develop them.
We’ll continue to play it safe for the time being and I’ll get yet another swab test on Monday. It’s been an up and down past few days and not really sure what to think just yet. Overall very relieved regarding my wife’s test...which I didn’t mind being woken up at 2:30 AM to hear the results.
Yes antibody bloodwork negative and nasal swab for Covid positive. If it truly is positive it had to be very recent. My brain hurts from replaying my every step the last week or two thinking about where this may have happened. We spoke with four MD’s about it - the one from local healthcare office who called to report the positive result, my primary care physician, my wife’s OB and our sons pediatrician. As we all know the next step is to self isolate for 14 days, which is exactly what the local doc guided, as did my primary. My primary also wanted to rule out a false positive so we both went for a second nasal swab earlier today, my wife went to a local walk in yesterday, too. Both her tests pending and we should know for certain sometime this weekend. The OB and pediatrician asked questions about my interaction with my wife and son, and living in a major metro our living space isn’t too large as compared to having a house in the burbs so to quote the pediatrician “the damage is already done”, meaning there’s no way my wife and son haven’t been exposed. Or maybe my wife picked it up and passed it to me. No one can say for certain and since I’m the only one who has test results confirmed it’s hard to make any assumptions about how/why/where/when.
Appreciate the thoughts by everyone who replied.
Thanks and appreciate the thoughts. Best to you and your wife. Front line workers are next level essential and hoping we get some CV19 related news from management soon on possible benefits of V on CV19 patients.
Also @ raf thanks for the link to that data. Pretty interesting especially with having some good friends living in Spain currently.
Kind of. Prior to us meeting she was a big OTC fish oil person but she stopped once we talked about the science of V and I kept having her smell her bottle compared to mine. That pretty much convinced her on the spot. When we switched insurance carriers I received one of my 90 day mail orders a few weeks early and I’ll admit there have been times I’ve missed some doses so she’s been taking 1g/day from my surplus the last few months.
You can say that again! I won’t tell you I backed the truck up, bet the farm late summer of 2013, going all in, then stayed with it and doubled down when we went sub $1. I met raf on another site a few years back and know he’s part of the long timers family. I was expecting this to be a different type of Q2 2020 for V so now adding this personal experience into the mix this is just another challenge to overcome for what ends up being the comeback story of all time!
Currently no. None by myself, my wife or our son.
First week of March felt like a truck hit me. Woke up on fire one night during it. Nasal and throat soreness. Followed by a dry cough for about a week. Then it was gone and I was back to normal, running 5k in the mornings and feeling fine in the weeks that followed through today.
Thanks jasbg and yes I don’t mind sharing our story one bit as this unfolds. I’ve been invested here since 2010 and although I don’t comment often, I’ve read every post here for years. It’s the least I can do and very thankful for the contributions of many here.
While we’ve spoken to four MD’s today and have our next steps in place, I would gladly welcome any suggestions or guidance from the board.
Trial of one right here says V helps fight the Covid battle!
I felt something make its way through me in early March and have always wondered if I “had it”. Fortunately I live in a city with free testing so I scheduled myself the antibody yesterday, which took 90 minutes to get through the process. On the way out the Covid test line was empty so with no current symptoms and although feeling fine, I figured I would get the swab, just for the heck of it. Antibody came back negative last evening and today the call came in indicating a positive Covid sample. I’ve been taking V 4g/day for over 18 months so has it helped me? Is that part of the reasons I have no symptoms? Maybe or maybe not, but I would love to know for sure. Second test tomorrow to help rule out a false positive then on to isolation, which is a challenge with a toddler and pregnant wife (she went for her test today). The other challenge is thinking about how this happened. We’ve been very safe the last few months, gloves and masks mandatory when grocery shopping and limited outdoor activity to early AM runs or evening walks. No subways, trains or other form of public transportation, no nanny and no interaction with others outside grocery and drug stores. While I hoped the antibody was positive never did I imagine the CV test would come back positive. We need more data and we need more communication from management. I can’t help but feel something has to be coming soon. Praying it does now more than ever for everyone’s sake.
