True story and I don’t mind sharing, since the word on the street is you keep a spreadsheet of people’s investments here. Your “care to explain” sounds a little snarky but I don’t take offense to questions about being a below average investor here, since I don’t owe anything to anyone but myself. If someone can learn from my mistakes then I’ll gladly take a few pints in return and swap more life stories.

My first purchase in 2010 was only for 500 shares after a buddy I work with mentioned AMRN to me. Not a lot but it wet the whistle and notwithstanding I proceeded to make the worst timed trades ever, upping my share count to 23K the summer of 2013 (@$7 avg), pretty much betting the farm ahead of the adcom. Like I said, I learned a lot.

Now holding just under 70K shares at half that avg and I’m up a decent amount but made the fatal mistake of not taking my original investment off the table because I felt so strongly about positive catalysts in 2019. I, like most, didn’t see the Du verdict coming however I’m young enough to recover from it so while it stung really, really bad this year, I have a healthy family, one amazing son, one more on the way, a great wife, a good career and fairly solid retirement account. This was supposed to be gravy for the rest of life, college educations, etc., and I truly believe I will see it again. I’ve been down but never panicked and sold when everyone screamed game over. I take my 4 grams daily and remain positive.

GL to you as well.
