Things must be going well in Vegas.
I know.
My guess is that the design freeze has not been announced yet because of the SABs involvement. A while ago I reached out to one of the younger SAB Members on Doximity. He was eager to get to know me until I asked about new developments in robotic surgery for general surgery. He stopped all communication.
Thanks. Any competitors is in this space?
New study shows that robotic surgery has benefits over laparoscopy for bariatric surgery (Roux-en-Y bypass).

Amen!
UBS smart phone survey.....Apple Iphone best in class!
Oh no!
I wish I knew you when APPL was $92.
So this new breathalyzer measures recent consumption of marijuana which is good but how will it measure intoxication. Are their set levels of marijuana intoxication yet?
Thanks
Look where he's been before and you'll understand. Explore Resources. A joke company that he got angry at. Probably left holding the bag. Now he's venting here.
Than sell please.
It wasn't common sense for that other company. Was it?
Can you provide link please?
Wow. Was that just last year? Seems like a lifetime ago! Everything needs to be taken in perspective.
You're right. Those that bought shares last year and earlier right before the big jump have a different perspective than those that bought their first shares recently before the recent drop in share price. I've done both. History will repeat itself.
Invest in this company for it's potential and what the surgical robotics market needs, not for what it is now or what the stock price is now.

Just another reason why Intuitive surgical needs a competitor or competitors. Hopefully, the Intuitive surgical whistle blower in the video works for Titan Medical.

..and you should wonder why TRXC doesn't have those safety concerns if they don't. Marketing should not trump safety.

Wouldn't this negate the need for AIVI to be current in the US if investors can now buy shares of Chinese companies directly in China now?

Also, they recently up listed to TSX from TSXVenture in Canada. See requirements on page 2. That's all the evidence you need from a purely financial standpoint.

Right. Their will always be a segment of American investors who will never trust a Chinese company and can't stomach it's success.
BABA for life!
The goal is for SPORT be used for all abdominal surgeries. I think Titan is starting with cholecystectomy only first is to ensure safety and stringent training standards for surgeons. It will be more efficient to use one very strait forward, very common procedure to train surgeons how to use this new technology. They don't want to repeat Intuitives mistake if lax training standards with one procedure after another. Intuitive was more interested in marketing than training. I saw this first hand. That led to many problems. General surgeons perform many different procedures unlike urologists and gynecologists therefore it will easy to transfer the knowledge to other procedures once the cholecystectomy is mastered. Safety first.
I believe it is.
Definitely Tyson's chicken.
This is where Intuitives technology came from. Patents expiring now.
Target target price $76. Rated a buy by Stifel

Do you really believe Intuitve had a sales force in the US in 1998 right before they started marketing in Europe in 1999? FDA approval was not until 2000. That would be a waste of money IMO.

A robot for endoscopy.
I wondered about that too. I suspect there is some bad blood between Dr. Reiza Raymon and Dr. Anvari. Dr. Raymon was a big proponent and user of Zeus and the other Computer in Motion. While Dr. Anvari was and is an Intuitive proponent. Dr. Raymon went on to start Titan and maybe didn't invite one of the most experienced Canadian robotic surgeons. Something must have happened between them since he didn't even mention his fellow countryman's name! Just theories. He sounded dismissive of Titan but respects Dr. Fowler.
I think this is the most important patent. This technology allows the surgeon console to control the patient cart robot. Just expired...I think. Telepresence. It was a slam dunk patent acquired by Intuitive and made them what they are today thanks to Philip S. Green. I would like IITFs opinion. He's good with patents.

Titan announced it and I was first aware of it in 2012.

I believe their are other posters who work in Philadelphia area hospitals. I wonder why Titan medical is so well known there. What hospital does your wife work at?
Oh...and I forgot to add, you're seated comfortably.
There is a segment of the surgical community that feels it is safer to have a bedside system so that if something goes wrong the surgeon is closer to the patient. The console is a few feet from the patient so I don't see the issue. I think it's a small portion and it's surgeons who aren't completely comfortable with remote surgery. It's based on belief system, trusting technology, culture, etc. It's the middle of the road adopters. They are not totally dismissive of robotic surgery but will use a bedside devise that feels more like traditional laparoscopic surgery and it's easier to learn. The problem is just that.... It's laparoscopic surgery. Been there done that. You actually have to where 3D glasses in the OR to have any 3D effect. I tried that at home watching movies. I didn't like it. All I can say is there is nothing like feeling like you are actually in the human body doing the surgery. Full immersion gives you the best visibility available. Add to that the snake arms with potentially limitless flexibility...well that's why I'm invested in this one.
I really don't think it matters if people are involved in both companies. They are totally different technologies. They will not compete or steal secrets from each other. One is a bedside device and one is a true 3D immersive device (SPORT). Only Intuitive should care about SPORT since they are both based on telemanipulator technology, patents of which expire either this year or next. I just don't see what the big deal is.
