Bravo jasbg;
I found this interesting, the History of Tylenol from an idea of two brothers to the World's largest selling Health Product.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tylenol_(brand)
So, riddle me this batman.... what do you think Denner's first order of business will be? Of course he has to get elected first, albeit even through Amarin's General Meeting shenanigans.
Amarin needs to develop it's BRAND, emblazen it on the foreheads of the consumer. Advertise the positives, compare Brand V to Generics. Tell the public what it is and what it can do for you. There is a large % of the population that don't trust Generics, build upon that. Currently Amarin management isn't doing anything. Except fighting the inevitable and paying themselves handsomely for it.
I shouldn't have said present Amarin management could take Vascepa to new Heights, me bad.
zip; I disagree, I think Amarin needs to join the fight rather fight the Generics. Amarin absolutely needs to get its Brand recognition going and do it fast. How is it going to do that? By increasing it's advertising budget "big time." How's that going to happen when Amarin doesn't have the money for advertising? They only have the money for paying management large sums of money.
Finally someone took the time to post the meaning of the acronym "AG." Really folks when you use acronyms please define the term. For those of us who don't quite get the Pharmaceutical "lingo", thank you.
Now, take the case of Brand name Tylenol made by McNeil Consumer who invented it. Acetaminophen became the Generic name for Tylenol. Does that stop Tylenol from selling their drug? How about Advil same product different name? The list of Companies with Brand names is below. Generics as a whole sold 1,177.4 (in $millions). Brand names as a whole sold 1,739.5 (in $millions).
How big is the market for Tylenol (Acetaminophen?)

Who's to say Amarin or a Big Pharma couldn't take the Brand Vascepa to new heights? Anybody? Class? "Perception is reality." Vascepa is the Gold standard. "Build it Ray Kinsella, People will come." Where did all these ballplayers come from? Don't sell the Farm Ray.
Don't you think the market for EPA is going to be huge? For a capsule vs an injection? Denner knows what he is doing. He can see the value in Vascepa. It just has to get into the right hands. rather than the handouts being given......

Great call Michael, todays trading volume 13,224,275 to Wednesdays volume of 12,055,500 shares traded.
The weekly total: 48,492,275, avg; daily 9,698,455
ram; Mastachusetts? Really? I thought you were a LA Rams fan? Those Boston crybaby's, if they're not winning a World Championship in something every year they get upset.
Just let the Cards win one Superbowl please? The 2001 AZ Diamondbacks (World Series) is way too long without a championship. Of course I don't live in Buffalo, NY either so my heart goes out to those fans.
hank; just look at the stock chart. You'll notice the price rises in the AM (buyers), then sellers come in to take profits, then buyers come back in to scoop up shares. The stock price continues to rise throughout the day. Almost 6.5 million shares traded and it's lunchtime in NYC. Afternoon trading on a Friday should be interesting. This is Institutions buying not retail.
Don't shoot me, this is just my two cents. I'm not claiming to be a chart guy. Now where did I put my baloney sammich?
Wow, that was quick, someone responded right away, either they canceled their post or the Thought Police pulled the post..... he he
Capt; agree, this high volume can only be Institutional Investors taking a position.
Had to laugh at Tats comments. Amarin hired 75 employees to garner the 25 scripts in NZ. Plus management is probably going to reward themselves a hefty bonus.
Way to go “Team Amarin”
Oops sorry Mr hayward, I thought I was writing to CaptBeer
hank; my guess is, institutional investors are selling to other institutional investors.
“You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours”
I scratch my wife’s back all the time and I surely do get compensation…. :D)
Hold unto your shares, this gonna get exciting.
Nuke the Spook
Exactly oneragman; get rid of the excess inventory before it becomes a right off.
We investors don’t need any more right offs. What do merchants do with excess inventory? Have sales events.
This combo pill is a long way from being marketable.
Lizzy; another fun movie to watch is "Don't Mess With the Zohan." An Adam Sandler movie.
Karim, reminds me of the Terrorist (John Tuttoro), who opens up the Muchen-Tuchen shops.
If you haven't seen it, it's a funny one to watch. Would be a welcome respite vs watching the paint dry. There's a lot of similarities between Amarin Management and the story line. The "Going Out Of Business" Electronics store is a classic parody.
Thanks CaptBeer
Forgot #6; How many times a day will the patient need to take this capsule? One dosage, two dosages, three dosages, four?
I'm still voting for Denner either way. So, let's show Karim and PWO the door....
Direct communication with Lisa from IR doesn't mean anything. All she's providing is what the company told her to say. She's not an Officer of the company- Even if the words came directly from Karim, it wouldn't mean anything.
This patent if upheld will be a valuable bargaining chip when Denner finds a buyer. There will be more buyers than employees....wink, wink... :D)
We might even be in a bidding war, spectacular, extravaganza, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.....
You mean; we'll accept slow dimes over fast nickels any day syndrome? Or is it slower quarters over fast nickels? I'm confused....
oneragman; been thinking about what you said. Good advice, open the hood, kick the tires? I think Denners already done that, that’s why he’s adamant this time.
So, riddle me this “Batman.”
What happened to companies like Sears, Blockbuster, Kmart, Montgomery Wards, JC Penny’s…..on and on?
They failed to change their business model and kept doing what they always did. Well, they’re history now.
What does Amarin need to do to be successful? It’s not rocket science. Answers anyone….? Class? Even a podunk like me can figure it out??? :D)
Quit crying over spilled milk. Yeah Du really set Amarin back in the USA, the most lucrative pharmaceutical industry on the planet. So what does Amarin do to counteract this? Class???
Nothing so far… but wait here comes Alex Denner. What do you think Mr Denner will do? Maybe not his first 100 days in office, but going forward perhaps? I’ve said this before, Vascepa has to compete with the Generics. In order for that to happen, Amarin has to offer the market a competitively priced alternative to GV. They also need to advertise more seriously. We all knew the “Vintage Rock Band” approach was insane from the get go. Amusing perhaps but very poor use of funds.
As for streamlining Amarin and getting it ready “For Sale”, what else would Denner need to do? Keep the price of your product at a reasonable price. Basically, the cats out of the bag. Amarin needs to recover. Do you really think the EU market is any different from the US market? Even with Generics being so prevalent in the USA?
So, let’s quit crying about Du, the Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court etc. and get this show on the road.
Current management hasn't shown me squat, they have no plan. Put yourself in Denner's shoes, what would you do to "right the Amarin ship?" Who has the most experience at doing turnarounds? Karim and PWO or Alex Denner? Who has bigger backers (Institutional Investors) Current management of Alex Denner? Who?
Newman; I agree with you, JPM are crooks for sure. My company had them running the employee 401k (retirement plans). They charged really high fees and basically made it difficult for people to trade in and out of the funds that JPM was pushing.
Eventually, my company “sacked” JPM and went with Fidelity. Fidelity is much better, they provided people the ability to self-direct their retirement funds. They also offered many more choices for people to invest their retirement funds into.
I’m sorry I transferred my 401k from Fidelity to Morgan Stanley (E*Trade). It took over a month to transfer my 401k to an IRA Rollover, in the meantime I’d lost big time. I had to essentially sell my investments at Fidelity and wait for the cash settlement. Then the cash could be transferred to Morgan Stanley. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. I should have rolled over with Fidelity. They’re a good company to invest with.
A quorum means then that one vote either way wins the day. Like the Kevin Costner movie “Swing Vote.” https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1027862/
STS; let's leave with this thought in mind. Say you voted in favor of Denner removing PWO as Chairman, who do you think replaces PWO? Karim? Another Board member? Or would you choose Denner (provided those choices were on the Proxy ballot?). Or do you favor keeping PWO? That's the question.
Personally, if Denner's name is on the ballot for Chairman, then I would surely vote for him. Do you agree or not agree? If you don't agree then who would be your choice? Let's pretend that you would vote for Denner for Chairman. And you wouldn't vote for any of the seven (7) choices to the Board. What do you think would happen? IMHO, I think the Board make-up would change anyway, based upon Denner's track history of streamlining.
You say you want to see Denner's plan. I say we've already seen a big part of it or discussed it at some length. What would you do in Denner's place? I know what I would do, but I'd like to hear your version. Heck, we're all investors here and we've brought our investing knowledge. So, let's hear what you would do to fix Amarin. I think most of us want the same thing, to see our investment make money. That's what it's all about right?
No trickery, no ill intent.
rose; there's plenty of money to be made in the market. I've never worked in the Financial arena, but I'll bet you that deals are made all the time. Like when Tutes drop the price (sell) to take out Stop Loss orders, then swoop up shares. Shampoo, rinse, repeat....
I like Capt. analogy, is Denner going to go all-in on a deal he doesn't know he'll win? He's put $100 million on the line. And yes, I do like Denner in charge and making the decisions versus KM, PWO making them. They've proven they can't do either with much success (lead, create value or make deals). Wait....? that's three things.... Multi-tasking?
I'll take a hunch that "Golden Snacks"(Goldman Sachs) is buying shares from another Institutional Investment firm. " You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.'
unlike your speed of course, which includes childish remarks and retarded gifs.
No butter on the bread.
You must get off on it.
Although me thinks we're dealing with a juvenile poster.
unlike your speed of course, which includes childish remarks and retarded gifs.
No butter on the bread.
I do have one problem with Vascepa over an injection. I find a lot of times I forget to take my morning dose of V. So, not always am I getting the benefit. There in lies the benefit of a 6 month injection.
You schedule it, you go get it and you’re good to go.
I do believe Vascepa will sell, my educated guess is any company in the Cardiovascular space would be able to sell Vascepa and possibly develop new areas where Vascepa would benefit people.
I’m waiting for the Brave study. IMHO I think we have a winner there.
Apologies, I saw your question marks, I just didn’t pay attention to them.
Ditto situ…
So, what is your point? That if the vote goes Denners way, then because it’s non-binding, the vote to remove PWO is not legal? Wow, that’s news to me.
Yeah you’re almost right. COVID scare shut down our country’s economy over what? Masks don’t work, vaccines didn’t work, boosters, really? I caught Covid twice and was vaccinated.
As for the war, most of you know my stance on that. Uncle Joe’s sanctions probably did the most damage. Think about sanctions, when have sanctions ever worked? Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Yugoslavia, now Russia. Seriously folks, when have sanctions really brought an end to anything? These countries flourished when sanctions were imposed.
How about interest rates? Think they have anything to do with crashing the economy?
We’re supposed to be the “Greatest Nation in the history of the world.” We’re supposed to have the greatest minds in Washington DC? WTF happened? You mean we’re destined to go through these economic highs and lows forever? These great minds that are in charge can’t seem to get a grasp on how to think before acting. The educational system in America is really screwed up. The United States is #1 in the world in Liberal Arts Education, we’re #25 in Math and Science. What does that say? We want to forgive all student debt? Really? When I was in school, I paid my way. Now we’re considering giving our youth a “free ride.” Wow!!
There’s only one reason Amarin shares are in where they are, it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Understand Tech stocks in general are in the crapper, but because of poor economic planning everything suffers.
Ram Agreed; We'll have to wait for the final wording on the Proxy.
It does seem odd that Karim is addressing his employees in this type of format.
Shareholders aside, employees own shares too. Although it's not going to make a difference.
Employees when faced with decisions like this usually side with management. Not always, but think about.
isaeed;
You are correct; 7 additional board members (total of 15 Board members?) according to Karim.
Excerpt from Karim's latest Statement;
"As you may know, Sarissa has called for a General Meeting of Shareholders to vote on matters related to our Board of Directors—to remove our Board Chair, Per Wold-Olsen, and appoint seven of their selected candidates to the Board, as additional members."
Whatever it takes to make radical changes at Amarin and give shareholders a voice.
Good point Rose; thanks
I didn't witness this, I was told that; President Harry Truman had a sign on his desk that said; "The Buck Stops Here." Truer words were never spoken.
I don't agree with your assessment of Karim, he has to go as well. It was Karim's idea to hire PWO, so, he's ultimately to blame since he's the driver of the bus.
What about the lack of transparency and no communication to shareholders? Karim's responsibility.
What about the non-performance and accountability standards? Karim's responsibility.
Lack of Support for EPADI is another biggie in my book? Karim's responsibility.
Loss of and non-performance of EU market, especially Germany, where Karim boasted that it was in the bag? Very poor showing. He's had 18 months with Nothing to show....NADA! There's other things I'm sure we could nit-pick.
I don't want to convince anyone how to vote. "just give me the facts ma'am....." Sgt. Joe Friday.
So, Leqvio costs $6,950 annually vs Vascepa @ $2,316 annually. Are insurance companies picking up the tab on Leqvio? Is Novartis offering kickbacks to doctors? Don't ask, don't tell... :D)
Let's talk about something else besides a soon to be unemployed "millionaire" Chairman, PWO.....
Our next suitor perhaps? Novartis. They need us (Vascepa) big time. I've posted this comparison before.
https://www.novartis.com/about/products?sort_by=title&search_api_fulltext=&sort_order=ASC&page=3
Leqvio (inclisiran) bought from Medco for $10B
What is the cost of Leqvio?
The cost for Leqvio subcutaneous solution (284 mg/1.5 mL) is around $3,475 for a supply of 1.5 milliliters, depending on the pharmacy you visit. Quoted prices are for cash-paying customers and are not valid with insurance plans. (whatever that means?)
Cost of Vascepa;
Based on personal experience using Amarins coupon out of pocket no insurance. $579 for 90 days through Costco. ($2316 annually)
Ram; watched some football highlights; Whoa...Joe Burrows and the Bengals smoked the Bills. And what a catch by Kittel of the 49ers?
Jerry Jones reacted, we're just "sick" about losing.
You know what they say about Texans?
We like our Beer Cold, our women "Hot" and
Our Nuclear Power Plants in Arizona.
Chiefs no surprise
Eagles no surprise
IHUB police? Why was my previous post from this morning removed?? Did I call anyone names?
All I said was I could care less about other posters casting their votes for Amarin? Yet my post was removed? Really? What are you afraid of?
I’m not convinced that Vascepa will be valued lower than MDCO PCSK9. MDCO through Denner got $10B. Do you really think that Denner would settle for anything less?
Therefore I don’t agree with LarryBirdLegend buyout price of $8.
I have nothing to back up my opinion, just the fact that Vascepa is less expensive, it’s not administered by injection. And Vascepa is just as effective if not more effective. Plus, what about the other indications? What about Brave?
There’s more value to Vascepa than what’s on the surface.
Better than listening to your whining. Stay out of other people’s business dude. Can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen
He doesn’t have to be sarcastic about it. Go F yourself
Just leave dipshirt. You’re comments aren’t welcome here. You’re an Amarin shill
Too bad David Crosby passed today, he was 81. Listened to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young a lot and still do.
