Great perspective, Loop. It only makes sense as I recall Merritt recently complimenting our R&D and comparing it to those of the top 3 or 4 wireless inventors (or something to that effect). Is it possible that Merritt is trying to make our flea more attractive as a buy-out?
This board all of a sudden has become dead as heck.
Maybe people figure it's not worth the effort because many posts are being removed. Just thinking out loud. But the good news is that IDCC is up about 30 cents on low volume. jmo
Thank you Revlis. I was unaware of the relationship between IMEC and Huawei. Good to know.
Good on ya Mickey. I remember when your wife passed away about a dozen years ago. Everybody deserves to be happy. Let IDCC play a big part of it. JMO
Revlis, as much as I appreciate your many contributions to this board, what exactly does this have to do with IDCC?
So Jeffree, maybe Mickeys price isn't so far fetched after all......what say you?
John, does anyone know why the sudden interest in our flea?
Mickey, relax....I've grown rather fond of the "SCREAMING BUY" over the last 13 years. Our time will come when it comes. JMO
Appears the little flea is leaving RUT and NAS in the dust :<)
Something good is happening.....not sure what.....maybe some nervous shorties. Keep on keeping on!
I agree. For the first time in 13 years of owning shares of IDCC I sense a solid rise in share price versus head fakes of the past. For some reason I think the price will remain in this range and slowly rise. My thinking will be moot if a major deal takes place. JMO
Mickey, what you say is true IMO. It's called momentum.
Hmmm, that would make your last name Buffett, LOL.
Well, I certainly hope your gut feeling is as good as Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
It is best to play fair and pay.
You mean like PNokio.....right?
If memory serves, HUAWEI can appeal the Arb decision. So it could take longer than summer. I hope not, but definitely possible.
Just curious, are you long IDCC? Not to be nosy.....just curious! JMO
Yeah, I've had that feeling for years. You'll get use to it, LOL.
Makes lots of sense. Thanks Warbil!
It should be calculated to be something greater than just interest on past due amounts. The fact that there is no penalty for patent holdup gives a green light to companies to stall forever.
Warbil, your post brings Nokia to mind. IIRC, they already admitted they owe for past royalties, but just don't agree with the amount IDCC is seeking. If memory serves, this amount is supposedly in the hundreds of millions of dollars. We have not heard much about past due amounts regarding this lately. Is this jist going to go away?
You're probably right but I'll bet we go above mid $50 this coming week. Too many options players didn't have their way. JMO
You do realize that this stock is heavily day traded by people that have no loyalty to IDCC....right? We're in the age of computer trading. These Guys trade on every tick. I've held my shares since day ONE. JMO
Yep, JMO but I think we'll see mid $50 next week. I don't see $80's like Mickey, but we'll be higher than we are right now. Again, JMO.
Thinking back to 1999, that was a rather remarkable rise in price. From Nov 1 1999 to Jan 3 2000 the stock rose about $75. I wonder how many people got in at $6 and got out at $75 and never looked back.
Thanks John. I'm hoping that soon IDCC will be ranked the most profitable company per shareholder. lol
I'm not a lawyer, but that sounds positive for the flea. JMO
IMO, it's all moot. Options expire on Friday. Let's jist wait and see on Monday.
Yep, Mrs. Gun's Iphone 6 just arrived today. She loves it and supposedly it won't bend like the 6-plus. I'm still happy with my Iphone 4.
SPECIAL DIVIDEND -- YES
Please speak for yourself. . That comment goes both ways. JMO
Jim, I remember the last time IDCC "partnered" with Nokia....must have been about 12-14 years ago. IIRC, Nokia stole a lot of info and left IDCC holding the bag. I still have a sour taste in my mouth because of that. JMO
If it walks like a duck....quack quack. Now the duck is on staff with IDCC. JMO
Maybe Revlis, Olddog, Loophole and Data but not MANY.
David, great info as always. No one can accuse you of not doing due diligence, lol.
That plea wasn't directed at you. It's just that I've noticed a lot of missing posts lately. Actually, I appreciate your effort in keeping us current with the events as they happen. Regarding IDCC, you read more stuff before 7:00 a.m. Then most people read all day long. JMO
That's good for longs as it shows confidence from the big boys. Thanks DnDodd. Please don't delete my post. JMO
I wonder if Merritt and management have given any thought about maybe hooking up with QCOM and other NPE's and creating some kind of lobbying committee. A consorted effort may reap better results than flying solo. JMO
Thanks Ghors and Dozer. It appears that incentives for inventors is becoming less and less as time passes. Kind of a shame if you ask me.
Dozer, please explain....is this because of liberalism? Why would the justice system have it out for American companies like IDCC?
Yep, Dozer is on to something. I don't remember the last time any major stock was halted do to heavy trading. Me thinks all the electronic/computerized trading avoids any big squeezes, hence no halting of trades. JMO
