I have to hand it to my wife.
When I told her, last night, that our portfolio had increased four-fold (at the time) did she snort and say "Finally!"? No. Did she say "Sell now before it goes down!" No.
She was kind enough to say "You always said this would happen."
hawk, bearing in mind that I"m in Singapore, and the market opens at 9:30 P.m. my time, I don't have the intestinal fortitude to give it a try anyway.
It's nice in the mornings...wake up, shave, shower, etc., with the anticipation of knowing what the close was...
(I have 'shaved' a good 5 minutes off my morning routine. Now, if I grow a beard, I can check even quicker ;^)
Which is exactly why I didn't try day trading.
There's a potential pocketful of PRs that can come out at any time. There is no way to call the pullbacks with any degree of confidence. At least for me.
I'm happy.
We're up 425% since Wednesday's close and I'm up 273% from my basis...
Ya want to see frantic, check the pro AND con posts on the yahoo board... frantic, I say.
Don't think there will be 5 today. Maybe tomorrow in pre-market.
Another sloggy day. Barely the float traded, and can't break 5. Hanging around the 4.50-4.60 range like it's a freakin' water cooler and the boss is out of the office.
Come on, guys!!!
(all tongue in cheek, I hope you understand)
Allshore, that's a PRELIMINARY proxy statement (hence the title, PRE14A)
There will be no shareholders meeting/directors voting until there is a DEFINITIVE proxy (signified as DEF14A)
The date in that filing was the PLANNED date. It is not happening today.
The date is still not known.
allshore. what vote are you talking about??
I see what you're saying SPIN. Wave can't force the warrants, but the warrant holders may erercise their right to convert...
not sure on the timing for that.
SPIN, I could very well be wrong, but Series H shares aren't the same as series H warrants. Two separate pools of cash, no?
The Series H shares conversion avoids the dividends.
The series H Warrants gets Wave another few mill of cash...
but, again, I may be wrong.
SPIN, quick correction,
Series H convert to A if stock stays at or above 1.90 for 15 of 20 days.
Forced Warrant conversion is 18 months away
From S3
Subject to certain conditions, each share of Series H Stock carries a mandatory conversion provision whereby if the closing bid on Wave's Class A common stock exceeds $1.90 for 15 of 20 consecutive trading days, the Series H Stock shall automatically convert into Class A common stock at the conversion price then in effect.
The Warrants are a different matter...
The Series H Warrants have a five (5) year term and an initial exercise price equal to $1.13 per share. Commencing eighteen (18) months after April 30, 2003, Wave may call up to 100% of the Series H Warrants if the market value of its Class A common stock exceeds 250% of $1.13 (subject to adjustment pursuant to the terms of the Series H Warrants) for a minimum of fifteen (15) business days during any twenty (20) consecutive business day period.
Hope this helps.
I don't that I'd call some of these new posters bashers.
They are new to Wave.
Never heard of it before the intel announcement.
I'd go look at IP and past finacials also.
Before bashing, give them the benefit of the doubt, what can it hurt? MY faith in the company is not deterred by negative sounding posters looking for information.
CL, forced warrant conversion is in 18 months, per SEC filing.
2bs, thanks
I think
TLG, yes I did.
Thanks
SPIN, I don't know that it is a sale...
Status Vendor was on site 27-28 May to assist in the installation and assessment.
Something is going on I don't entirely understand.
The first IBM pr today was, in effect, we have nice tires that will fit on chevy trucks. No mention of a deal, no mention of a business relationship.
The second pr states, unequivocally, ... John Callahan said IBM computers with built-in Wave security would be available in the fourth-quarter of this year.
from latest pr...
Terms of the latest deal were not disclosed. But Wave spokesman John Callahan said IBM computers with built-in Wave security would be available in the fourth-quarter of this year.
WHAT just happened?????
jokes on you LHF. no CC today. Why would you think there was?
At the risk of sounding like a whiner (wah...wah...somebody call the wah--mbulance)
The PR in no way states that there is a relationship with IBM...just that the product works with IBM...
Please, people, a link and a leading para should be enough. Posting the entire article is a waste of electrons.
BTW, is it just me, or is this pretty much a fluff piece?

How many shares of SSPX does Wave own again?
While we've been glued to Wave, SSPX has been rocking (well, relatively speaking)...may be an opportunity for Wave to lighten up a bit and fill the coffers (closed at 1.05, bid/ask pegged at $1.14)
Rachel, re reporting.
per email from David Collins, he expects them to be out 8/14

If I recollect, gofig, there is a 5 day period in which a entity must report acquiring in excess of 5% of a public company. SEC FD rules detail this well. (I have a deadline to meet this evening, or I'd dig it up myself)
I have to admit that I'm glad to see that Wave has trimmed the number of press links from their home page to two:

Reuters News: Security Underdog Wave Systems Wins Intel Pact
July 31, 2003
Wave Systems Announcement
Every one was up there for awhile and, frankly, it looked a bit desperate
Yo, SPIN, wrong company...
this
For the engineers:
http://www.wavesystems.com/WTS51_v4.54_010712.doc
is a temperature sensor that has absolutely positively NOTHING to do with the Wave Systems in Lee. Diff co., same name.
SPIN, I love translations
The financial terms of the agreement have not been rendered famous
Thanks for the laugh!

There's always an *if*
The handle is familiar, it's the first post on this board that I was referring to...
cheers,
Tony
so, a double thanks to BCaSE, for drawing in alea also...
welcome diceman
geez BCaSE, for a first time post, that was great.
We need more like that.
Thanks!
SAM,
short answer, maybe.
But what if there is bigger news coming that they know about
(and we don't)? If they buy now, it would be with knowledge that the investing public doesn't have.
Glad I don't have THAT problem...
allshore, could you ixnay the aps-cay?
'Kay?

Singapore. Lived here for 2-1/2 years now, and love it. Short ferry rides to resorts in Malaysia and Indonesia if you want the beach
I'm not greedy. I just want Qualcomm's market cap.
soros, huge enough my mind cannot comprehend it.
bull, today it's only PC's.
But Nokia has joined TCG (and Nokia HATES Microsoft, by the way), so I expect it to get to even mobile phones in the next couple of years.
I'm only talking about the immediate future here. 2 years out is impossible to define (for me, anyway)
remember these slides (redux)
(thanks to 2bs)
and
Any thoughts on the validity of these numbers?
awk,
Wave has done an end run of their own.
Infineon doesn't have to bundle services
IBM doesn't have to bundle services
NSM doesn't have to (but may still, on AMD motherboards) bundle services.
Intel has taken the reins
