GUY, where did you find that IRC203 message on Vancocin? What board? I queried for IRC203 and did not get a hit.
Thanks, ammobox, I didn't see that news on Yahoo or AMTD for CGHI, but this is OK, though not as good as they led us to believe. Let's see, a buyout at .60 but they are still stuck below .40, and this makes sense? Funky stuff! The market knows more than me, so there must be some risk the deal won't go thru I guess. Have a good time deciding at what price to sell the shares.
CGHI lost the trailing "E" today and bounced up 23% w/ over 3.5million traded today. I bought some when they announced the company was evaluating bids for the company (one of which exceeded $1/share). Anybody know if the company sale will actually be announced in the next couple of weeks or if the recent sale of stock is all that's gonna happen?
Midas, it is looking good. Didn't they say during last CC that they hoped to secure some cannister filter sales by sometime in August?
Comments yesterday on SWB:
Smith & Wesson Holding Corp. (SWB), re-iterated its 2005 profit outlook. The Springfield, Mass maker of firearms said it stands by its June 29 forecast of net income for fiscal 2005 in the range of $5.1 to $5.9 million, or 14 to 17 cents a share compared with $1.4 million, or 4 cents a share reported a year earlier. However, Smith & Wesson said it still believes the adoption of a share-based payment rule, will likely result in a reduction in net income for 2005 of $400,000 to $600,000, or 1 cent to 2 cents per share for 2005. Sales for the year are expected to rise 5% to $124 million from a year ago, with firearm sales forecast to rise 11% over year-ago levels. The Thomson First Call average estimate is for full-year earnings of 15 cents a share. The company said it has asked the Securities and Exchange Commission if it can push back the timing of the publication of its 2005 results until it has fully evaluated the impact of the new share-based payment rule on its results.
SWB appears overvalued after today's runup. DAAT looks better as a gunlock play due to passage of new gunlock legislation which appears to be included in the Energy Bill.
TGA remains one Class Act. I really appreciate the detail they put into their quarterly announcement. Phenomenal plans and lots of great potential. The pipeline is flowing, which gives them the additional cashflow to ramp up their drilling and seismic work. I cannot think of any company that does a better job of communicating with their shareholders. Class Act all the way.

Senate just voted 70-30 today to require gun safety locks, as an amendment to a gun bill that may get passed tomorrow.
Gun bill and Cramers Mad Money bringing lots of attention to RGR and SWB(former SAF-T-Hammer)- This undiscovered DAAT should start to see some direct and spillover buying from daytraders over the next few days.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050728/ts_nm/congress_guns_dc
DAAT's typical strong 2nd half of the year and desire to get to $4 bid to get on Nasdaq small cap should also add fuel to the fire.
CGNW looking fine again today. New 52wk Hi at .60 Thanks Hweb.
CMK, thanks for that info. I didn't realize any institutions had taken a position. Great news. There's just so much gnashing and bashing on this board, it's nice to find some legitimate INFORMATION. Thanks again.
MSGI, the AXJ breakout began on 7/21, but this is a strong second leg for sure. Nice call on this one.
CVGI ... drop thia AM started around 10:25, so it must have fallen due to a comment on conf call which started at 10am? I bought a few at 24 and then watched it fall ASAP. Made ma a sap ASAP!
Good luck, I hope you're right that it comes back after that big seller. OOPS fell below 21 as I was typing. Bye
R'59, CVGI sounded good then PPS fell off the truck. Profits up, stock down. Verrrry strange selloff minutes ago.
Midas4' ... great article on TVIN ... thanks!!!
Dan L probably sells on a regular basis (to limit cap gains taxation per year) per accountant's advice. His selling does exert some pressure on DAAT, however, I think the stock is primarily held back by the lack of insider BUYing and the fact that we have not entered the fall-winter (revenue-generating) seasons.
Midas4longterm, congratulations on TVIN's nice new contract, though I think your $25K/hospital must be a little high vs. discount they'd expect for this large an order. Also this order will run well into Q4, as I don't think TVIN can build, pack and ship that many tents to 200 locations.
JMHO--- of course, it is grand news, and the canister filter orders should be coming soon (per their previous confcall comments).
TGB probably deserves honorable mention here as an up and coming growth company with earnings (to be announced soon, though prior qtrs have not yet broken into the black). Still, if the Sheriff looks thru his jaundiced left eye, I gotta admit it hasn't officially hit the VM state. BUT ... it has taken off today on inproving volume and the best pop in price we've seen in a long time (short eon). I believe the reason for the nice move the last couple of days MUST BE rumors of good earnings to be announced soon. JMHO, but enter at your own risk.
I know some of you here are TGB DirtyCopper MuchoMoly holders, so good luck TGB longs.
BANG... I was behind... news confirms good results are coming.
CYD is a good China play
I keep looking ahead and seeing Mr. Sheep, and he's starting to look good from this end, but I'd really like to pass him in the next week or two so I don't fall in love again. The only problem is that everytime I look up and see him getting a little closer, it reminds me more and more of CNBC's Maria Buttaroma.
Whoever renamed her that way should be shot, but it just will not leave my mind during the last hour of every trading day.
I lost a little on GIGM and don't mind leaving it in the toilet for now.
Take a look at GRU (Gurunet) which moves to Nasdaq in a couple of weeks. Could move up this next week as they get ready to leave AMEX. Stranger things have happened.
ABLE and GEOI (both energy sector) have moved strongly with price of crude this past week. They also have been a high percent of their total float over the last week or so. They certainly did better than TGA in the last two weeks.
t5lewis, thanks for trying to limit the posts of EPROM, as I consider his intentions to be highly suspect at best.
For instance, he appeared with his first IHUB post on July 14th, and he has posted exclusively on the NowAuto board. This fact alone makes me believe his intentions are in his own self-interest or simply for attention. I consider his posts highly inflammatory lately and full of promises to sell. This board needs to stay ON subject so that NWAU longs are able to gain information here.
Peanuts! ... Sour Grapes! ... go write your Senator about the Patriot Act ...
Sell if you wish, but stop threatening to do so and wasting everyone's time here.
Please say that your unmitigated disgust with this board's policy ensures that you will never grace our presence with your well-intentioned offerings again.
Thank you for all your efforts to save us!
ASPN continues to "drive the lane" just daring anyone to knock it down. Higher it goes, yet "only the shadow knows" why.
I think the best theory is that the drilling season is, in fact, progressing well, and some are getting details about what is going on, thus they buy shares along the way.
Well, please make it a "market" order so you and NWAU buyers will get the full benefit of what your market has to offer.
JMHO - Personally, I think you're a bit long-winded, and your implication that NWAU mgt should consider legal action is way too naive to be taken seriously.
I guess I'm just as confused as I always was by the announcements that NWAU has put out there. I don't know how NWAU shareholders (including me) are impacted by the deal, but my supposition is NWAU mgt has taken the opportunity to carve out a generous portion of the pie for themselves.
Len, when I see the results of the survey, I see some percentage of respondents that are millionaires. I also see some percentage that are divorced, voted against Bush, are bullish on market for next six months, etc.
However, I'm just wondering if the results can be combined and shown in other ways, that is, does the data allow someone to see what percent of millionaires are divorced?
Another example: What percent of respondents who voted for Bush are bullish over next 5 years?
Another example: What percent of divorced respondents voted against Bush (there's a joke in that last combination)...
Note, I'm not trying to get answers to these particular questions, just wondering whether you are able to do different queries against the data vs. just the indicated results for individual questions.
If complex queries could be used, there might be some significantly interesting results beyond the simple results per question, regardless of statistical significance. For instance, it might be interesting to get a read on whether non-religious millionaires that voted for Kerry tend to be divorced.
Jerry, it looks like the NowAuto mgt is getting the 1.5million shares, GEV mgt is getting 50,000 shares, and we other common lowly shareholders that own the company get the remaining 85% of the company. As I read the deal, there is a 15% dilution, which is going to NWAU mgt (perhaps as restricted shares to be awarded over time), so not much is going to the sellers of the shell.
Abh, the question is what kind of trend will we see in the Chinese Yuan? If devaluation appears to be at the rate of 10% vs $US in first month or two, there will be impact on DAAT. Their favorite Arkansas company (WMT) doesn't give DAAT the option to change prices according to exchange rate fluctuations, and I believe there is a REAL negative impact on DAAT in current qtr (down about a dime today, and could drift further in coming weeks).
JMHO--- DAAT is still way undervalued based on growth, but their EPS will be impacted by Yuan strength vs. $US.
So a more valuable Yuan makes items purchased from China more expensive. Small change for now, but the trend will be for a stronger Yuan over time.
What about stocks to buy today based on stronger Yuan? Should we buy Indian/Mexican stocks and short the Chinese exporters? Hmmm... will be interesting to see how stocks like DAAT and CYD and XING and SINA adjust to this news today.
Estimated Earnings are less than .90 because they gave so many shares to the shell, thus dilution eats common shareholder's lunches. They threw out the $1 earnings estimate for 2006 to keep folks from running to sell. The future is still bright, even though Scott doesn't appear to be the white knight anymore.
GIGM at end of May was about $1.50/sh, and disappointing earnings today will probably take it below $2 today. I also jumped ship at the open based on expectation it will drop further today. We'll look again after it bases lower.
SMIT taking off again today, regardless of 1-time gains as discussed yesterday. 11.25-11.30 premkt vs 9.90 close yesterday
GIGM earnings approx .02/sh
GIGM numbers out. Down about 6% premkt. Not sure why yet, unless it's disappointing numbers in the entertainment business unit.
Anybody have a take on GIGM numbers this AM? Currently down 6% premkt
Moral of this story: NEVER BE LATE
A priest was being honored at his retirement dinner after 25 years in
the parish.
A popular local lawyer and member of the congregation was chosen to
make the presentation and give a little speech at the dinner. He was
delayed so the priest decided to say his own few words while they
waited.
"Shortly after my arrival, I got an unholy impression of the parish
from the first confession I heard here. I thought I'd been assigned to
a terrible place. The very first person who entered my confessional
told me he had stolen a television set and almost murdered the
policeman that tried to stop him. He had stolen money from his
parents, embezzled from his place of business, had an affair with his
partner's wife, and taken illegal drugs. I was appalled.
As the days went on, however, I knew that my people were not all like
that, and I had indeed come to a fine parish full of good and loving
people."
Just as the priest finished his talk, the lawyer hustled into the
parish and apologized for being late. He then began to make his
presentation and give his talk about the priest.
"I'll never forget the first day our parish priest arrived," said the
lawyer. "In fact, I had the honor of being the first one to go to him
in confession."
Moral: NEVER BE LATE
Excuuuuuuuse me, Swami Sherriff Len.
OK, I "bothered" to read it, I did the survey, and there were some interesting questions, though the results remain statistically insignificant. Thanks for your clarification. This is the first time I've noticed the Survey option on an IHub board. I assume the system prevents multiple entries by VMCers?
I found some text in the GIGM annual earnings news somewhat bothersome, particularly the part about not necessarily being in full compliance with reporting standards and certain costs being excluded from results.
They mentioned some tailing off in certain sectors of their business, though they believe there is enough growth in software sectors to maintain growth. I am paraphrasing, of course.
Could someone please provide any substantial reason to believe GIGM's latest quarter earnings will exceed a nickel when announced premkt tomorrow? Please don't include words like hope and prayer.
I'm long and wondering if we go substantially higher or lower tomorrow. It will obviously not be at the same level for tomorrow's close vs. today's close.
Thanks for the update per your correspondence with mgt.
Guy, re: GIGM upcoming earnings ...
Do you have an earnings estimate range for GIGM?
