ummm, whatever.
I realize that this really doesn't mean anything, but...
http://www.finread.com/pages/media/swfs/intro_finread_01.swf
look at the second card reader shown in this flash presentation from the FINREAD site (the one with 'Enter Pin ***' on the display)
Is it not the same as the one in this picture?
BGG...re: link.
1) NYTimes wants you to register (which I have... it's free)
but 2) everyother time I try to go to a NYT site I get a page asking me to subscribe to delivered service. If I press 'back' and then click the link again it usually works.
I don't know, but I don't think they will deliver to S'pore...
hahaha...yup.
it's 23,993,564,998 MB (look at the gif)
which would actually make it
23,993,564,998,000,000 bytes
or
23.994*10^15 bytes
or
23.994 petabytes...
(strictly speaking, 23.431 petabytes)
...or the entire internet...
that's the joke unclevername...and it's a 24 terabytes...nothing's being downloaded...it's an animated gif
OT:funny...
funny...

e-shute lives a degreee north of the equator, making winter not much more than a rumor.
Thanks John, for clearing that up...
and for helping me reaffirm my desire to stick with engineering, and to leave the legal stuff to the legal types.
(although this one seemed a tad more obtuse than the usual)
It's nice to see a) Intel so concerned about security and b)even the big guys making silly mistakes...
Winter 2003's SQL Slammer virus cost companies millions—perhaps billions—of dollars. And although it was confined mainly to servers, it demonstrated a critical weakness of information security: If you want to protect your data, you must make sure your business systems are state-of-the-art, including client PCs.
http://www.intel.com/ebusiness/upgrade/security.htm?iid=Homepage+ads_upgrade_security&
I thought we were coming up to winter 2003...or do they know something about an upcoming SQL slammer virus that they shouldn't...
And because of HDean's stance on trusted computing, and knowledge of Wave and Wave things, I truly hope he wins the Democratic convention...and not the presidency (but THAT'S for political reasons, and this is not a political board)
OT to check and fix (If infected) soBig vrus

[thanks Matt]
If that were the case, chad would be winning...
This vote was clearly conducted in Florida.
Matt, I've been getting 2 or 3 a day... someone/thing is scooping addresses off the 'net and stuffing them in the 'reply to:' field of the emails. When you think about it, email is a prety unsecure medium. All ISP's should require secure login to send, as well as receive. I NEVER get spoofed like this on my attglobal account.
Anyway, thanks for the link to the sobig fix (that you posted in another of your posts). I DID confirm I don't have it. (I would flog myself for a week if I did. I know better)
I'm sure the FBI know all about them...
[edit] http://discuss.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/zforum/02/fbi0227.htm
sheeeeeet,
there was an article on the cnn web-site about a bunch of vandalized SUVs, responsiblity accepted by the Earth Liberation Front.
I've heard of these folks before, and thought not much of them, but after visiting their site, I can honestly say that they are as dangerous as any wacko I've heard of. There are detailed instructions to be found on their site for creating delayed fuses for arson attacks, and the "best places" to deposit accelerants.
What a bunch of sick-phucks.
SPIN, I have to plead CRS...not sure what question you are 'reefering' to...
(and did mcfadden post on the intc board?)

Cybill Shepherd is freaked out by the prospect of the Austrian-born action hero in the executive mansion.
"That would be the worst tragedy in the history of California," Shepherd hyperventilated to "Access Hollywood."
"I think that we are the laughing stock of the world, with Arnold Schwarzenegger running [for] governor," Shepherd said. "I think he's a real hypocrite. I think he has a past that is going to come out, and I'm not going to mention what it is, but it's not going to be pretty."
Barbra Streisand, Steven Spielberg, Warren Beatty, Susan Sarandon, Al Franken, Ed Asner, Mike Farrell and Rob Reiner are also expected to rally against the Terminator.
wah-wah-wah...somebody call the wahmbulance.
Betcha if Rob Lowe hadn't left West Wing by now, MArtin Sheen would be kicking his butt out.
Not (yet) a movie, ....but it will be...
Tom Clancy's 'The Teeth of the Tiger' is great...and the first (mark my words) of a series of next generation Jack Ryan Jr. tales.
asiseeit, follow instructions at http://www.investorshub.com/boards/faqh2post.asp
very easy.
cool...theeeeeere back!
Wonder what prompted that
(and no, that's not a nod-nod wink-wink statement. I really wonder what prompted that.)
Should we be so lucky as to get some infineon/HPQ news?
my dates already know where I live...
Seriously though...
Loved endless summer, AND the surf scenes in blue crush. Will have to check this out when it gets to Singapore...
thank you for introducing me to Fred (on everything)
Cum catapultae proscriptae erunt tum soli proscripti catapultas habebunt
I believe the effective date referes to the date the s-3 is effective (June 30) and if that's the case, the 1.90 for 15 of 20 doesn't start until after September 30...but then again, this is why I chose engineering and not law...
So, being sick as a dog here in KL, I was out like a light by 8 p.m. (a.m. in the stock market world) and only woke up a bit ago to answer the phone (I do love my wife, but really...a midnight call?).
Was there a concerted effort by nefarious folks to test support at 10 a.m. or did the gravitational constant of 9.81 m/s^2 get increased for Wave?
cheers,
eamonnshute, whacked out in Malaysia
Larry, since the short numbers you posted were from prior to the Intel news, the recent rise (I'm talking about yesterday's) may or may not have been short covering.
I really couldn't hazard a guess about the short as of AUGUST 15, except to say it will be different
Anything ever come of the financial_reporter?
Considering the fact that the person writes for the same illustrious online financial organization that gave us the Hakim pieces, I wouldn't WANT to see something from them.
yup, but it's still not on the proxy, so it can't be voted for...
I would hasten to add that I would have fired the person responsible for writing the SEC filings long ago, and I'm more than a little dissapointed that management is letting stuff like this get filed.
Ramsey, the proxy that I saw does not have a vote to approve dilution above 19.99%. It has been removed.
I don't know what that means.
(see the recent proxy filing)
gotcha go-kite et. al.
Been crazy-busy lately.
Thanks for the clarification.
Cheers...
go-kite, sorry, but I've been screaming through the posts and may have missed some detail (in a hotel with (gasp) dial-up only)...
to clarify, are you saying that 10k+ IBM TPM users have bought the software suite? Or that there was at least one customer of that size?
Still not all that clear on this.
Thanks, and apologies for the obtuseness if it's obvious to everyone else.
One (of many) reasons that I left Canada to work in the US (and eventually Asia) was the increasing taxes while social services were decreasing.
I think the marginal tax rate in Nova Scotia was upwards of 50%+ when I left in 1988. (that includes income tax, provincial sales tax, gst, property taxes, etc.)
I took a 20% pay cut (dollar for dollar) when I moved to Florida, but had 10% better take home pay.
And it didn't snow.
And while the doctors were nicer in Canada (where my daughter was born) they were better in Virginia (where my son was born.
I love Canada, the place and the people. Will be spending all of August in NS next year. But I can't stand the .... oops, this is the NO POLITICS R&C board, so I'll stop right here...
(Of course, the lack of snow and better chance for career advancement were good reasons to leave also)
go-kite...
10,000+?
Larry D,
you have a VERY good point. It will start in the enterprise space first. Much in the same way IT departments insisted on firewalls on the office networks and users started seeing the beneifit of them for home use when broadband became more prevalant at home.
I, personally, have a firewall at home. I may not need, it, but it makes me feel more comfotable.
You may not NEED it, but I'm sure if your employer (if you have an employer. You may be retired or self-employed...I don't know you) has it deployed in the office, you may find some features that you like and decide you want at home.
Eventually (I believe...really believe) all boxes will ship with a TPM. Activation will be up to the user, but it will be there for the activating...
glo/timmers/etc.
using conservative TPM deployment number, royalty numbers, 'activation' rates and less than retail for the package, the numbers still look good enough to get to breakeven in 2004.
Bear in mind that this does NOT include
o recurring services revenue
o HP/Infineon revenues
o FINREAD revenues
o WaveXpress revenues
o Tecsec revenues
o Maximus revenues
or
o Cubic revenues, all of which I expect bear fruit. I just don't have a good feel for how to quantify those numbers.

Doma, while I essentially agree with you analysis, where on Softex does it say that Omnipass works with any TPM (let alone Atmel's?)
As a Canadian (albeit an absent -- for over a decade -- Canadian) I find that a riot!!
I must pass it on.
Thanks
