LOL, NLionGuy. Yep, I think we can all live with that poll. However, up there in Pa. and Michigan, all the good looking co-eds are all bundled up. Down here in Texas, the good looking co-eds are wearing practically 'nuthin' at all. <GGG> Bright blue, sunny Saturdays of 69 degrees is just great for bikini watchin'!

NLionGuy, I'm back. If you get the link again, PM me with it and I can try. If the link won't work I can then take it and copy it and host it on another place so it will show up on iHub.

Mission Accomplished, USA Routs Argentina 106-73 To Finish 10-0 And Earn Americas Olympic Qualifying Gold Medal
August 31, 2003 • San Juan, Puerto Rico
With a trip to the 2004 Olympics already assured by Saturday's semifinal win, the USA turned its attention to completing some unfinished business-- winning the gold medal and finishing with spotless 10-0 overall record. Thanks to 23 points from Tim Duncan (San Antonio Spurs) and some inspired team play, the United States (10-0 overall) romped over Argentina (6-4 overall) 106-73 Sunday night in the gold medal game of the FIBA Americas Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament gold medal game.
In Sunday's bronze medal game, Puerto Rico stormed out early and cruised in for a 79-66 win over Canada to earn the third and final Olympic qualifying berth.
The USA victory was its second of the tournament over Argentina, the team that snapped the U.S. senior team's 58-game win streak last Sept 4 in the FIBA World Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The suspense was gone in this game early. Never trailing in the game, the U.S., behind 10 points from Duncan, sprinted out to a 20-11 lead. Leading 20-15 with 3:26 remaining in the first quarter, the U.S. poured in 21 consecutive points to take full charge, 41-15. The U.S. went on to lead by as many as 34 points in the second quarter, grabbing a 53-19 lead. At half, the U.S. had already scored 60 points and was way out in front, 60-27.
The U.S. made 62.5 percent (25-40 FGs) of its shots in the opening half, outrebounded Argentina 25-13, while forcing the Argentines to shoot just 35.3 percent (12-34 3pt FGs) from the floor, while forcing 11 first half turnovers. Argentina, which normally makes a living at the 3-point line, didn't make its first three until the 4:34 mark of the second quarter and was able to hit just 2-of-10 3-pointers in the half.
Going on to lead by as many as 41 in the third quarter, the U.S. settled for the 106-73 win.
"I don't know of a team that I've ever been involved with that has played any better than this team did," said USA head coach Larry Brown, who will also serve as head mentor of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team.
"This is a team game. The hardest thing is we have so many great players that they all had to make a big sacrifice and I think they all did that. That was what was so neat about tonight. To watch that display, if you're a basketball fan, I don't know how you couldn't appreciate that," Brown added.
Duncan and USA frontcourt mate Jermaine O'Neal (Indiana Pacers) were both named to the five-member all tournament team, joining Canada's Steve Nash, and Argentina's Adres Nocioni and Emanuel Ginobili. Nash was voted the tournament's Most Valuable Player by the media.
Duncan, in 22 minutes of game time, hit 11-of-15 shots en route to his game high 23 points, and added 14 rebounds, six offensive, three assists, one block and one steal.
"We didn't expect it to be easy. We didn't expect it to be that way," remarked Duncan. "We got some offensive rebounds early and we took a lot of the wind out of them. Even when we missed shots, we got put-backs. Defensively, people weren't getting through screens and getting layups like they did the last time we played them. We were ready for that.
"Offensive rebounds were a key, too. We pounded the glass and got second shots. Even when they got stops, we found a way to get it back up there. We had the kind of energy and intensity that we needed."
Also aiding the USA were Ray Allen (Seattle SuperSonics) with 13 points, while Vince Carter (Toronto Raptors), Tracy McGrady (Orlando Magic) and O'Neal scored 12 points each, Mike Bibby (Sacramento Kings) added 11 points and seven assists.
The United States shot 58.9 percent from the field for the night and outrebounded Argentina 43-30, with 19 of those coming on the offensive end.
"We had an interesting meeting at our film session," stated Brown about the team's meeting Sunday morning. "We talked about what we had to do and what we were trying to accomplish when we got together. Pop (assistant coach Gregg Popovich) said some really neat things based on his experience, and Elton (Brand) and Jermaine (O'Neal) did as well. They just showed us what they're made of and what they're about. It was really pretty neat.
"Pop told them how much respect he had for Argentina and he kind of shared what happened with the team last summer (losing in the World Championship). We just said if we came out and didn't share the ball and defend and execute like we tried to do from day one, it was going to be difficult. They did everything we asked them to do and more. I can't imagine anybody playing any better than that team did. I don't think I've ever been part of anything like that."
The win increased the USA's Olympic qualifying win streak to 26 games, and improved the overall record of the USA senior teams comprised of NBA players to 69-3 (.958 winning percentage).
The USA, gold medalists in 12 of the 14 Olympics in which it has played, including the last three when NBA players have participated (1992, 1996, 2000), has compiled in Olympic play a sensational record of 109 wins and just two losses.
Five teams are now qualified for the 2004 Summer Games, host Greece, 2002 World Champion Serbia & Montenegro (the former Yugoslavia), Angola from the Africa zone, and the USA, Argentina and Puerto Rico from the Americas. Three Olympic qualifying spots will be determined at the Sept. 5-14 European Championship, while two teams will earn berths from the Oceania zone and one more will qualify from Asia.

The Junkyard Dog is baaaaackkk! Mario Elie hired as Spurs' assistant
September 4, 2003
SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Former San Antonio Spurs player Mario Elie was hired as an assistant coach Thursday by the NBA champions. He replaces Mike Brown, who became the top assistant at Indiana.
During his 11 years in the NBA, Elie won three championships -- with Houston in 1994 and 1995 and with San Antonio in 1999.
``He'll once again be an important part of our organization,'' Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. ``As a player Mario always exhibited a good knowledge of the game, and his attitude and work ethic will serve him well.''
Elie called San Antonio the ``perfect place for me to start my coaching career. I'll be able to learn a lot from Coach Pop and his staff.''
Elie played in 732 games, averaging 8.6 points and 2.8 rebounds. In addition to the Rockets and Spurs, he played for Philadelphia, Golden State, Portland and Phoenix.
AK and/or Churak...Help!
Which one is which? AK, is that you in the straw hat? I'm pretty sure the guy with the squared off eyebrows and snorting, flared, bull nose, is Churak, but I just wanted to make sure. TIA......<GGG>

Justin...re: old architecture...
The powers that be have kept San Antonio's downtown area to the Old World of circa 1700's - 1930's for the most part. One of the unique things about SA is most every building including most of the newer ones are done in granite, limestone blocks and old style bricks etc., instead of all the steel and glass like most cities. It is part of the charm to go with things such as the Riverwalk and brick streets with trolleys and horse drawn carriages. Memphis and New Orleans are also somewhat like SA. Although New Orleans has gone with some glass and steel buildings as have a few in Memphis and SA (I kind of like the mixture of old and new. I never liked the Twin Towers in New York as it took away from some of the charm of old New York. I just hope they don't go with some futuristic, out in space looking buildings. I enjoy seeing the architecture from 100-250 or so years ago like many of the old churches. The old timers really took pride in their work. So ornate and detailed. Today they can throw a 50 story building up and have it rented in 45 days.

M-M, I'm back....finally! LOL Hey congrats on becoming Assistant Chairman of the Board. OneBgg pays $5,000.00 a month for this job. Trouble comes in trying to collect it from him. For a big guy, he sure can hi-tail it in a hurry when being chased! HARRR!

OneBgg, just got my stupid pc working correctly again. The only complaint I have about life is why in hell did some idiot have to invent these damn machines? Sheeeeeeesh, I swear, Bill Gates is the Anti-Christ. LOL
Colt
Thank you Ksquared, ergo, Id, tc, PW, Scrooge McDuck, rossi, et al....
Sorry to say but, Microsoft and computers in general, S*U*C*K !
Did just about everything you guys and gals said to do and I still could not post. My scanner was all messed up, I had 4 keyboard icons, I had three copies of McAfee on my pc, I had about 500 too many photos of beautiful women in skimpy clothing, blah, blah, blah.
Bottom line and all kidding aside, I ended up having to remove everything from McAfee Virus protection to Office to Zone Alarm, etc., and do a Restore and I've been so busy I just now finished it. Only have a few more items to download and the job will be complete.
Again thanks to all of you for your help. I now realize why 96% of my life is spent outdoors and not in front of a stupid computer...or should I say I'm the stupid one and the computer has once again outsmarted me. Hah! This damn mOsheen is awfully damn lucky I didn't put it out to pasture with some of my bulls. That would have shut this Artificial Intelligence Robot up for good. And if it gets cantankerous again then it just may find itself sitting in the middle of a big ol', freshly made, cow pattie. Not the tossin' kind, but the squishy kind no less.
Colt
Ahhhhhhhh haaaaaaaaa, it lives!
Test, test...
Thanks ergo...I think I have to fix the program conflicts before I add anything else. This all started a couple days ago when I did a McAfee Virus Scan and McAfee went through a reinstallation of some sort and now I have these various programs which seem to be in conflict with other things. I am wondering if I need to UNinstall McAfee and then REinstall it. I just hope I don't have to reload Windows, again!
Or I wonder if I need to Reinstall IE6 or if you can even do that.
The Mcagent is a part of McAfee and Cpqeaui is the Easy buttons on the keyboard and Msoffice is the MS Office Startup button/program, etc. Here are a couple links that tell what certain programs are and what to do with them. These two links may already be in the iBox here.
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm
http://www.staff.uiuc.edu/~ehowes/info17.htm
I'll keep those two links in Favs until I get rid of these conflicts/illegal operations. MS makes you feel like a criminal. LOL They just need to learn how to write code better.
Hope this gets posted without dropping out again.
Thanks, Colt
Help!!!! To anyone smarter than me which includes basically EVERYONE: Startup Problems and IE 6 Problems...
I've installed every update including the one's in Greg's post.
When I turn my pc on I get one of the following Error Messages and if it doesn't show up on Startup, it shows up when I connect to the Internet like on iHub. I get different ones such as This program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down. This doesn't shut the pc down but, keeps me from getting onto the Internet.
1)Cpqeaui
2)Mcagent
3)Ddhelp
4)Dxdllreg
5)Msoffice
6)Osa
7)lexplere
I am not sure if this will post but, if it does go ahead and answer if anyone can. I may or may not be able to respond but, I will be able to see any response. I am running Windows 98 IE 6 on this computer.
Orig...I think the sound conflict is in my pc. Although others have indicated trouble with some midi files.
I see it got posted...good, hopefully. LOL
Thanks,
Colt
Not sure if this gets through...I see all of the posts but, I keep getting crazy messages (No Virus though) telling me This program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down. Showing me Mcagent and Ddhelp, etc. But, it doesn't shut down and keeps locking up so if this does get through and you don't see any other responses it will be because I need to get a hold of McAfee or ZoneAlarm or someone.
JB...Go to http://www.hunt101.com/ and just sign up. It's free and you can post photos there and link them to iHub. Then you can upload photos just like you do in your emails and then do this in your post: [chart ] the url minus the http:// part and NO spaces anywhere in the string as well as inside the brackets [/chart ] and bingo, it will magically appear. If you have any trouble I'll be back as soon as my pc is working correctly.
Just got the error mssg. again so signing off. Hopefully this will post. As Arnold would say, "I'll be back"!
Pre, do you only show up anymore when you have a Virus to give us? LOL How you been? Hope things are going well for you.
Colt
It doesn't conflict every time but, does so the majority of the time. I haven't experienced this very much with wantoberich's posts but, it sometimes happens with his also. I think it may be the fact that so many of the software companies compete to be the Default player, i.e., Real Player, Windows Media Player, Quick Time Player, etc. I'll check it out further when I have a little more time.
Colt
I like where he has Tim ranked but, he sure does have a lot of power forwards in that group. I think Zach Randolph should be ranked higher and the Candiman lower. I will await his more definitive poll (by actual position) and then make my final judgement.
Colt
M-M, after giving it some thought, he should play. After all, a lot of these guys have to either play their home country or they are playing for their home country and have to play the United States. If Tim were playing for the Virgin Islands, I doubt he'd sit out when they play the US team. So hopefully, he'll do the right thing and play in that game. After all, by Tim playing bball in the United States in both college and the pros, he has brought basketball to the Virgin Islands and has given hope to a lot of young kids over there. I know the Island fans want to see him play...so suit up Tim and do your thing!
Colt
M-M, if OneBgg, loans me the money to put that team together, then you can be Head Coach.....BUT, if you lose so much as one game, you're FIRED!!! LOL
Colt
NLionGuy, I checked a bunch of sports sources and haven't found a pic of Joe on Wheaties yet. Everyone has the article so when the pic comes out I'll post it. As his career winds down I hope he wins a ton of games to finish his GREAT career. I realize he is not Ksquared's fav (LOL), but to us guys, he is a players coach...one, guys can relate to and respond to. Tough but, compassionate. And a Winner!!!
Colt
NLionGuy...
Congrats to you, Penn State, and Coach Paterno. As a former collegiate athlete, I can honestly say, I would have loved to have played for him, although one of us would have to switch sports.
Like Ksquared said the other day on the Outdoor Adventures board, Michigan and Texas may be facing the proverbial Kiss of Death. I hope not but, many a team with a high preseason ranking has been known to fall flat on their face. For the life of me I can't see how Texas can be rated this high with the loss of key players to graduation and especially at quarterback. On the other hand, I think Michigan has a great chance at winning the National Championship. No, Ksquared, I am not trying to put a bigger Kiss of Death on Blue...just being realistic. Michigan is very talented and has as good a shot at the Trophy as anyone. I just hope it is my Longhorns playing you in January. LOL
Back to being on the front of a Wheaties Box ... brag time from me too! They already had the boxes printed up the night we won the NBA Championship. I imagine they had them printed up for both teams to be on the safe side.

NO, I said I wouldn't tell anyone that AK was sending pictures of 97 year old, 'neked' Catholic Priest's via email. You were the one who spilled the beans about Susie sending photos of Nuns manicuring the lawns with fresh fertilizer and top soil at the local Catholic church. No wonder she gets the whip out for you. BTW, does Susie make you wear a blindfold when she gets the whip out? LOL

Yeah and he dies shortly thereafter. Crazy world we live in. Yeah, go back to sleep. LOL

LOL, yep!
Thanks, Ksquared! It is good to be living in the Land of the Free.

Churak, did you know that a male Mountain Lion capitulates, I mean copulates, about 80 times a day? Must be nice to be a male Mountain Lion.

LOL, To Copulate is so much better than to Capitulate. At least that is what my Granny tells me.

Now I see a different one, El Capi'tan! So when are we going fishing?

Yes, Ksquared, yes it is . Thanks for noticing. LOL
