I'm thinking you might be correct. The current iPad screen size might be what I prefer, too. Seven inches has its limitations. The video clearly shows how for educational purposes the 9.7 inche screen works great.
Imagine all the neat self-paced educational programs we're likely to soon see for the iPad. A whole new approach to education for kids through seniors. Potentially very good for the planet and species!
BTW, I was talking with a woman this afternoon at a market who clearly loves her iPad, a bunch of Apps, and especially the size and battery life. I noted I really liked the case she had for it and she said when she got it, all the cases she was interested in were sold out, so she went to Craig's List and got this excellent leather case from some vendor in China. It was maybe the nicest case I've seen.
I'm eager to check out all the iPad stuff at MacWorld SF this coming year. It ought to be quite an iPad, etc. show!
My SPY short term model turned Up late in the session yesterday.
We appear to be moving to a "buy the dip" attitude. There's not much to be gained from hoarding cash; money market rates are near all time lows.
Regarding the phone feature it does seem like it fits a larger species better, but recall folks have nicked the iPad for not having a phone.
Of course there are some who want a microwave, too. What's that line about making people happy?

Wow!
Good points, Heywood.
Reminds me, in general, of the Linux world; many, distros (different Linux OSs), software may run on one, but not the other, or give you fits trying to get it to work or turn you into a 24/7 Linux geek chasing solutions, hanging out on forums, seeking help, screaming, etc.
Distros are never really complete, but rather approach completion, with a few buggy issues remaining as the developer(s) takes off in a new direction, leaving the problems behind, the way a bird flies away from its doo-doo.
Ubuntu, IMO, is the best of the Linux distros and trying to address these problems systematically. But even here there are others who will make a counter argument. . .

Still waiting for the "killer" competitor to challenge the iPad.
The S&P 500 is above its 200 daily MA and testing its August highs.
The weeks ahead should be interesting.
Samsung Galaxy Tab: If stable, reliable, with good battery life, and reasonably priced, it will offer the iPad its first serious competition.

I have iOS 4.1 running on my G2 iPT. . .runs fine at least for this first 24+ hours. Stable and smooth.
Love those folders for organizing my 100+ Apps. . .mostly finance, news, books, utilities, and games. . .
I checked out the new iPods yesterday at a local Apple Store. I like the Touch a lot and expect it to be big winner going forward. Nice features and value. Wonderfully thin and light. I'll probably buy one as the holidays near.
The Nano seems like an overpriced mistake to me. I won't be surprised if it bombs. $150 or $180 for the Nano, with limited features. . .I don't think so. Too bad they didn't keep the previous design, add a touch screen and, say, make it possible to install 10 or so Apps, maybe, a small upgrade to the camera, too. Then there would be some value. And more revenue for Apple. Sadly, not now, I suspect. . .rather, a shot to the foot.
I'm installing iOS 4.1 as I type.
It's 332.0 MB!
Important questions: How much lower must they be to indicate a market turn Down? That is, what constitutes a trend change, certain numbers, or x days of lower numbers? When can one say a lower high is in place?
I'm looking for an external, compact backup hard drive that can backup two or more Windows machines plus a Mac (all data on the same external drive in separate directories). In addition, I'd like it to be plug 'n play USB and contain its own backup software (no internal computer software required).
Does such an animal exist?
Samsung Galaxy Tab, an attractive form:
One interpretation of the most recent scan, i.e., Friday's, is as follows:
Evidence of significant market moves, up or down, begin in tick charts and then spread to larger time frame charts, 1 min, 5 min, etc. until the move is evident in, say, daily and weekly charts.
With that in mind it is not surprising the 10 MA chart shows more components positive, than the 50 MA one, which in turn is greater than the 200 MA figure.
In may be a significant market move is just beginning. The days ahead will tell the tale. Or, in the alternative, the market may back off or reverse which also will be revealed in future scans.
In general, that was my impression, too, Heywood.
For example, it's not hard to imagine AMZN being happy with less than stellar reviews of the iPad.
Why so many three star or less reviews (40%) for the iPad on
Amazon?

That's a very important chart, IMO. Bears watching.
TREND1, I continue to hold you have the best charts on iHub.
Many thanks.

I agree. There must be 20 to 50 games/apps in the store right now that with a little mod would be great on a big screen.
There are wonderful educational opportunities, too. Check out the courses offered by, e.g., UC-Berkeley and others.
Apple TV has terrific potential and could be a big revenue gatherer.

Attractive device. Let's see how it performs when it makes its way to the wild.
Sold ES long (S&P emini futures contract) at 1085.
No position.
I ordered Apple TV within five minutes of Chris Martin leaving the stage.
At $99 with Netflix et al. it was an easy decision.
ES futures looking Ok 3+ hours deep into the week, 1070.50, +6.75.
Let's see how Asia goes.
I've found I need to place more emphasis on time frame charts shorter than 30 min for my day trades.
Although 30 min charts are still useful and important to follow, for me, the shorter ones, help to reduce the fear and confusion the current market is dishing.
And some days I just watch.
I'm glad you made money on your BGU trade; it looked scary to me on the shorter time frames when you opened it.
Prudent sell, TREND1.
What did you see to lead you to buy BGU yesterday?
For my part, I've been happily going long or short FAZ (all day trades) for most of the month. Too scared to hold overnight.
Is your backup program or service active at those times?
A little improvement here in FAS, started about 1300 (NYT).

How much weight can an iPhone replace?
Yes, Stanza is my fav on my iPod Touch.
I suppose it's significantly better on the iPad because of the screen size.
Since AMZN owns it I'm surprised they haven't incorporated more of its features in Kindle.
Has anyone compared it to iBook?
