Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and fairly confident prosperous New Years!!!
That's too, too bad. It would be nice to watch and see how high they'd go before covering. Thanks Jim and Dozer.
Just curious, is there any way to find out the entry point of shorts on IDCC stock?
Fifty four oreeno.......and then some :)
IDCC has more of an "Independent" trade these days, which tells me the shorts are likely to move out and on, with higher stock prices for us longs.
Without a doubt. The stock has been holding very well....even between news cycles. In years past you could almost count on a 8-10 percent drop in price between news cycles. Not so as of late.
Btw, the Springfield is a great implement for what it was designed for. However, on a heated battlefield, conserving ammo might be the last concern you have. JMO
Dozer, with your sons background he will surely qualify for a CMP Garand. Mine are already promised to family members. Semper Fi.
Good for you Mickey. It appears you have the life most people only wish for. Hopefully IDCC will reward you and all longs in the near future. I remember when you took a big hit years ago. I'm glad you are content with what life has dealt you.
Good for you, Data. I know it's OT but I've introduced numerous young folks to firearm safety and will continue to do so. On topic....may IDCC keep moving upward. Gotta say our little flea has held very well....better than I expected. Let's see what happens next week. JMO
Data, if I'm not mistaken, you have to qualify to buy those from CMP. Don't remember the terms, but I think some range time is involved. JMO
Makes me think most of the late trades are options related. Wonder if any shares were sold for end-of-year profits.
And their value has increased dramatically over the years......have a few in the safe from back in the day along with a few of their little brothers...M1 Carbines :) Btw, did I mention they are pretty accurate and a hoot to shoot? JMO
Time for a couple craft brews at the local micro brewery. GLTA longs!
Good on ya, Mickey. I recall your prediction earlier in the day.
Don't remember the exact wording, but IIRC Patton said "the M1 Garand rifle was the best military implement ever designed".
Link please.
Thank you for manning up. I think it's agreeable that we're all pro IDCC. JMO
Great answer David. I concur 100%. JMO
Maybe Dozer is just excited because our administration is helping NPE's. JMO
It must be because of our presidents involvement. What else could cause such interest in IDCC stock?
Good on ya Lime. Hopefully this post won't be deleted. JMO
Olddog, I'll rephrase that, a "scheduling conference" doesn't just vanish into thin air. Thanks for correcting me.
Mickey, I also think same. A case doesn't just vanish into thin air. JMO
Thanks Jim. It was interesting that Eric mentioned IDCC. Let's wait and see what becomes of this.
Olddog, celebration may be a bit premature, but it's fairly obvious that something has happened between IDCC and Arima. Btw, thanks for your contribution to the forum. JMO
Yep, without a doubt...boring day. On a good note, IDCC is the only "green" in my portfolio today.
Dagnabbit, you're right. Hopefully we'll be there again very soon. Along with IDCC, we own some FB and a few others. My dream is for IDCC to trade at $77 like FB and also with the same volume......20m-30m per day. I know, I know its only dream. LOL
Bruce Berman said "Notably, IDCC, which ballooned to $75.72 on August 7".
Near as I can tell, $43 was the high for that date.
I may be wrong, but from my experience here the shorts have been able to manage the trading in such a way to protect themselves quite effectively.
You might very well be right, but it seems to me that in past trading cycles the "hills and valleys" on the charts were higher hills and lower valleys and were closer together thus allowing more opportunities for shorts to make their trades. IDCC has held above $50 very well....even long after news. JMO
Bull, I disagree. Even though 10% of short shares have covered, that still leaves roughly 10% of the float shorted. With 75% of the float owned by institutions, that would appear to leave a very small window of opportunity for shorts to unload shares. Me thinks that if (a BIG if) IDCC gets one or 2 bits of good news you'll see shorts running for the door in groves.......similar to rush hour in downtown Los Angeles or NYC. JMO
I'll try to leave everyday....at least for the rest of this week :)
Sheesh, when I left this morning we were down a buck.....when I get home we're UP 2 bucks....YAY
Btw, what caused this nice turn-around?
For all we know a shareholder was forced to sell due to a pending divorce or death in the family and, of course, another buyer stepped up to the plate. JMO
Jist, keep in mind that a lot of us have base shares in the teens. IDCC will never see teens again. I can't control your investment. Only you can decide if you're in for a quick buck. JMO
No offense Jist, but you're a rookie trying to piss in tall grass. Jist hold your shares and relax. Good things are coming for IDCC. JMO
Maybe a mod could sticky Fish's post of upcoming legal events. Would be a helpful reference point. JMO
Please believe me when I say I hope I'm wrong. I'm heavily over weighted with IDCC.
I hear ya loud and clear. My point is the judge might look at IDCC and think.....here's a company with $700m in cash with a small nut to support, so why does IDCC need huge awards for future license deals? As a long I can only hope we are awarded on merit versus cash on hand. JMO
Another great anology, Loop. I still have high hopes for the flea, but in all honesty I'd be happy with a $85-$100 range buyout. Our leadership just can't muster the BIG dollar license deals......so maybe a buyout would expedite a decent share price for longtime longs. JMO
Sons, me thinks the Huawei arb results could very well set precedence for future license deals. Let's hope it's a good rate. One concern I have is that the courts will think that because IDCC has very little overhead that we don't deserve much in the way of awards. Let's hope I'm wrong. JMO
IMO the more the % of licensees goes up the more it will cost to buy IDCC.
Jim, umm....that would be a good thing....no? <:)
