CBIS has got it's momo back !!!
Go CBIS.
6 more shopping days left till record date!!!
Are you saying you do not like the Dutch strains or Dutch companies. Note that Ed Rosenthal has been spending about 25% of his time working with the Dutch companies and thier strains.
They are ahead of the California dispensaries and promise to be working on FDA approval. That can only help CBIS, no ???
I'm suprised there has been almost no discussion of the new CBIS documentary.
I love it. When you add up all the experts in the cannabis field who emphatically state that the FED's are full of sheep $hit. It should really drive the point home, especially to those who still spout non-sense prohibitionist rhetoric.
Good Photos, Thanx Dayadoger.
I've never seen Ed R. in a suit. LOL
It's a safe bet that news will be forthcoming.
The company has been telegraphing its moves. IMO, the big news is a formal filing with FDA.
Did you see that Bedrocan Int., is also seeking FDA approval for some cannabis products.
2011 is the year for cannabis legalization !!!!
I am excited about today's development. IMO, the filing was with the SEC, and not with FINRA.
FINRA news should be forthcoming, and will clearly spell out all the dates. I think we can be certain that 12/31/2010 is the date of record. The company said they (or us) will pick up the cost of notification to shareholders of record.
Go CBIS !!!
Dutch Company Enters Oakland Pot Scene
Originally found at http://www.baycitizen.org/marijuana/story/dutch-company-enters-oakland-pot-scene/
On a recent afternoon in Kensington, Michael Sautman was talking on one phone with a reporter when another phone started ringing with a call from Israel, where his company is competing to grow medical marijuana on behalf of the government.
Sautman is the American CEO of Bedrocan International, one of the first transnational marijuana enterprises, and its arrival in the East Bay this year demonstrates just how important the local cannabis economy has become on a global scale. As Oakland and Berkeley gear up to offer commercial pot cultivation permits, Sautman and his colleagues aim to position themselves in the rapidly expanding marketplace of “cannabusinesses,” make money and help professionalize the industry. Ultimately, Sautman’s vision is to use the American pharmaceutical drug-approval process to legalize marijuana nationwide. Bedrocan International is an offshoot of Bedrocan BV, the medical marijuana producer contracted by the Dutch government to supply standardized, pharmaceutical-grade cannabis to pharmacies there. It’s one of only a handful of companies of its kind, and Sautman is hoping to leverage the firm’s unique pedigree by consulting with California cultivators who would like to upgrade their operations to a similar pharmaceutical model.“Their arrival here in California is very timely,” said Victoria Garzouzi, a chemist who consults in the marijuana industry. “They are ahead of a lot of the folks here.”Sautman said his company is also aiming to get its pharmaceutical pot system approved by the U.S. Food And Drug Administration.“The FDA is the jewel in the crown worldwide,” he said. “Anybody who is engaged in the process would want to get their drug through the FDA.” The FDA approval process takes years and costs millions. But if Bedrocan is successful, Sautman said, it could trigger the feds to legalize marijuana. Presently the U.S. government classifies the drug as schedule I, meaning there is “no currently accepted medical use.”There are many regulatory barriers to Bedrocan’s plan. To do FDA-approved marijuana research, scientists must get the drug from a federally approved source. There is only one in the nation - at the University of Mississippi - and getting government permission to use its product is tough. Scientists could also presumably cultivate their own research marijuana, but they need federal permission for that too, and so far their requests have been denied.“It’s a real regulatory knot,” said Dale Gieringer, the director of the marijuana advocacy organization California NORML.
But Sautman said his company could get around the issue by importing its supply from the Netherlands. “Any progress that Bedrocan makes moves us all forward,” wrote Rick Dobin, the executive director of a nonprofit group that advocates for clinical trials with psychedelic drugs, in an e-mail.Bedrocan’s arrival does not signal a Dutch takeover of the Bay Area pot scene, however. Marijuana growers and hobbyists from Holland and California have commingled for decades, according to Robert MacCoun, an expert in Dutch and American drug policy. Ed Rosenthal, a Bay Area-based marijuana cultivation expert who spends about a quarter of his time in the Netherlands as a “migrant farm laborer,” agreed. “If you’re looking for the story of the Dutch invasion, that isn’t happening,” Rosenthal said. He said the uncertain legal status of medical marijuana in California still makes it an unappealing destination to most Dutch producers. “This is considered the heart of the anti-[pot] culture. So most companies are afraid to come over here,” he said.

Looks like folks will have to own this stock at the end of this month to be a player in the dividend.
Good opening today, the buys are coming in good this morning.
Would be nice to finish at .065 today .... or even .10 with divy news!!
I thinking that we will see the divy notice on Monday @ sunrise and gap up to 6 or 7.
It would have made much more sense to start with the divy news and then PR the details of "what's up" doc (Bob).

It appears that Dr. Bob did not get the memo that investors were wanting concrete info about the share structure!!!!
Geeez
No, it doesn't take this long to get dates from FINRA. Just hoping the extra ticker symbol gets released in this next PR.

The growing business of growing marijuana
By Trish ReganAnchor CNBC updated 12/8/2010 5:54:02 PM ET
The story of marijuana’s growing acceptance in America begins in the Colorado Rockies, where cannabis is meeting capitalism head-on.
Once a month, at his downtown Denver restaurant, chef Scott Durrah teaches a cooking class. It’s well attended, mostly by retired and affluent boomers. It’s exactly the market Durrah and his wife and business partner Wanda James want to reach.
“What we're seeing, which is really interesting, are older people,” said James. “I would say over the age of 30, and definitely women. These women are your mom, your grandmother, women that you see at the post office, at the day care center."
It’s their new twist on classic cuisine that draws this crowd. The ingredients are common, except for one — a Colorado-grown herb. The secret ingredient is marijuana.
Pot has arrived in mainstream America. And entrepreneurs like Durrah and James are leading the way as one of Denver’s power couples, prominent in the local political and business scenes. He’s is a former marine. She’s an ex-naval intelligence officer, a successful public relations executive and a top political fundraiser.
In most places in America, they would be considered dope dealers. In Colorado, they are savvy entrepreneurs in a fast-growing, state-sanctioned industry, branding and marketing medical marijuana under their label, “simply pure.”
It’s a new kind of company in an old industry, one that generates tens of billions of dollars a year in this country. Most of it illegally.
Durrah and James are taking the high road, using their business knowhow to take America’s most popular drug from the back alley to the corporate suite.
“When you look around this industry and the people who have come into the industry, there are people who were laid off from corporate America," James said. "This is America's new hot industry.”
James took CNBC to the heart of the operation: a lush marijuana farm inside a temperature-controlled warehouse. With 1000-watt lights, a sped-up growth cycle produces a new crop every two to three weeks - about twice as fast as Mother Nature. According to James, a typical plant yields 2.5 ounces of marijuana, with high-end varieties selling for $300 to $450 an ounce.

. Even at those prices, medical marijuana is flying off the shelves. The choices are exotic, like choosing a bottle of wine. If you need help, just ask the pros, known here as “bud-tenders.”
As long as you have a state medical marijuana license, you can sample all you want. It’s all regulated, taxed and legal as far as the state is concerned.
Federal law, on the other hand, said pot is illegal. But in 2009, President Barack Obama directed the U.S. Department of Justice to defer to state laws regarding medical marijuana. With a single memo, the White House turned 70 years of prohibition on its head by advising U.S. attorneys in medical marijuana states to not go after individuals who are “in compliance with state laws.”
The threat of raids by the Drug Enforcement Administration seemed a thing of the past, and Colorado’s cannabis gold rush took off. People applied for medical marijuana licenses in droves, flooding the health department with more than 500 applications a day. The number of dispensaries jumped from about a dozen to more than a thousand across the state — outnumbering Starbucks almost two to one.
Today, you can buy pot next to a pizzeria, an auto repair shop or inside a medical office building. From downtown to the suburbs, pot dispensaries become neighborhood fixtures.
That’s too close to home for some parents, like Eric and Stacey Howell.
“You don’t want it invading your household, let alone your neighborhood, let alone your state,” said Stacey Howell, an elementary school teacher and mother of three. “As a parent, drugs are always in the back of your mind. From the minute your child is born, that's something you have to teach your child because it's out there.”
James said the marijuana industry is taking a more responsible approach to marketing than some others.
“What kind of signal does it send to your children when you have a fully stocked refrigerator with Coors Light or with Budweiser in it?” James asked. “And then the campaigns that are behind those alcohol products of the half-naked women? What kind of signal is that?”
But with medical marijuana laws already on the books in Washington D.C. and fifteen states, there’s an army of new marijuana entrepreneurs contributing to the supply. Samantha Sandt, 21, is one of them. She jumped at the chance to get in on the ground floor of the pot boom, selling seeds.
“We’re a new enterprise’” she said. “There’s endless opportunities. It’s like the Internet boom.”
With a degree in marketing and business, Sandt’s first job out of college is with Centennial Seed. Their seeds aren’t cheap: they retail for $70-$100 a dozen.
“We have close to 100 retailers in under six months,” she said. “We keep receiving calls day in and day out of more people interested in seed.”
But just as Colorado’s pot business took on an air of legitimacy and began thriving, the federal government fired a warning shot aimed at Chris Bartkowicz, who had been cultivating for years, long before medical marijuana was legal. Bartkowicz said he wanted nothing more than to come aboveground and become licensed and legitimate.
"You don’t see back alley deals with cigarettes," he said. "You don't see back alley deals with alcohol. But you do see it with marijuana. If it was legalized, taxed and government-regulated, we wouldn’t have problems like this. I wouldn’t be facing life in prison."
Smokin' --- you sure get around.
Wish I could attend the grow session that Danko is hosting here.

One highlight for this year’s day program is the return of the grow seminar led by Danny Danko.

Here's how you make money with CBIS - buy the dip!!!
LOL - you gotta see this!!!
BUY THE DIP
Yeah, the buys and sells we about even today. The timing of the sells brought the pps lower.
We should see .08 tomorrow without new news. Today's guidance was not really anything new, admittedly it was a bit of a downer for those expecting concrete div dates from FINRA.
If the recent list of vendors at Kushcon II is any indication, it is huge.
The Colorado Independent estimated over 2000 businesses in Colorado’s medical marijuana industry submitted applications for licenses.
CBIS could also send out PR on the foreign exchange options.
New US ticker symbol for class A shares would be awesome.
Gap up to .085 this morning.
Waiting for div news.
Waiting for bulls.
Waiting on CBIS
Net loss per common share - Basic and diluted -(0.03)
This is positive... My estimate a few days ago was a loss of -(0.02) post# 13820
Close call ... opened with ask of .093 ... but no bulls and no news to start the day
Possible gap up to PERT @ .095 with news before the bell.
This event is so important and huge in Denver. I just had to post the sponsor names to give you the idea of how much canna-commerce is in Colorado. This is part and parcel of our current CBIS market.

You may be right
Green Friday
Last couple of days, IMO, we seen thin resistance; if the bulls were in, we would have seen a good run. Buys outnumbered sell volume today. I think the big time bulls are waiting for final word on the div, to see if its a good deal.
The only reason to be bearish right now is if you got a couple of bags already. Otherwise I think a run is about to happen. My boat is still loaded.
10-Q is expected today Friday based on last years NT-10-Q on 11/17/2009 and 10-Q on 11/19/2010. IMO, CBIS filing date was 11/15 and their 10-Q states that it will be "filed on or before the fifth calendar day following the prescribed due date".
Kind of interesting how the "gap" is the same level and size as the 200 day moving average and the 50 day moving average.
If news is released we could test .13
GO CBIS!!!
Yes, my expectations is that the 10-Q shows a (-.02) loss per share (as diluted).
Divy news is needed soon to announce the record and ex-div dates.
