Amazing lack of volume at this point in the day.
They did the surprise call during the pre-earnings announcement because it was the perfect time to introduce the new CEO. Since they pretty much did the earnings con call at the same time, there's no need to have another one so close to that one. Nothing to see here.
Exactly and they did a fine job holding the price flat today in order to maximize that option price. Let's see if they let the market work freely after the 2nd.
Sure Kiwi...... you want him to list the scripts by Dr as well?
I have lunch..... will digest or vomit after you post
As we all know, the game is rigged so this is a process. He wouldn't back up the truck until all the pieces are in place otherwise he wouldn't maximize his teams profits. In addition, he couldn't be buying during a blackout period. I wouldn't worry about him not doing a bunch of buying at this point. As the saying goes, pigs get slaughtered.....and it's possible he has some hard and set rules on percentage of portfolio in a stock.... and again, if it leaked out that he was adding, the price goes up and his team doesn't maximize profits...... the day will come though so I'm with you on adding when I can to lower my cost basis.
A couple more days in this stuck price range and then we begin a slow slog upwards...... consider buying in now if you concur before earnings. The new regime is highly motivated to monetize this puppy.
Yes they did....

I would have lost that bet I made with myself.
I also suffer from AMRN derangement syndrome and added at 1.15 this morning
If I were a betting man..... which I am.... they announce this on 8/2 with earnings. Good way to keep the price down as well in order for a better options price for the CEO comp.
Great news if true...... all in all it's just another brick in the wall
Somebody with bad eyesight and they are confusing us with AMZN...
I doubt we're about to see much of anything until after 8/2 when we officially announce earnings. Those paying attention already know what the earnings are. There will be no conference call so aside from a surprise PR release, it's new business as usual. Great time to pick up share for those wh believe we are on the right track.
Do we really care if Denner takes care of himself and his select crew if he can get the share price to $15? I don't. As long as there's no reverse split in the equation, I am fine with what he's doing.
"The drug is worth at least $5 per share to a Big Pharma. But they will be stingy. Because they can be. They can smell the stink of vulnerability on this thing.
"
This is true unless they are aware of the fact that more than one BP has interest. Then greed "which is a wonderful thing in this case" takes over
Well Tasty...... you may be right but if that's what you believe, I hope you take this opportunity to buy more while it's on sale and get your cost below $5. If it's already below $5, then you're in good shape albeit having to wait for the BO.
Hi Dar, I haven't done the math to that specific level but my thoughts are that when I do buy back my intention would be to hold for LT capital gains. A sale of the company within 6 months would screw that up of course. Let's say for easy math that I sold 10K shares costing $5/sh at $1/sh for a paper loss of $40K. I buy back at the same price of $1/sh and sell at $10/sh for a profit of $90K. I offset the $90K with the $40K loss and net $50K at LT tax rate of 10% so I net $45K.
Had I not sold, I'd still net the same amount as you mentioned. I'm not expecting the company to be sold until sometime in 2025. Just my gut feel. So I'll be buying more on the way up which will increase my cost basis and hopefully my profit. The paper loss I can use on more profitable sales against my 2023 income tax and I can only hope that I have a huge tax problem when I finally sell my total stake in AMRN.
Thanks JRoon......
This is also interesting and lacks a particular specific....what is the price he will pay?
"Mr. Holt will be issued a one-time grant of stock options giving him the right to purchase up to 5,000,000 shares subject to performance-based vesting with share price hurdles ranging from $2.50 to $15.00. Upon achievement of each share price hurdle, a set number of shares are earned. "....
Those of us having had stock options in the past know that there is a set purchase price to be paid for the stock once the price hurdle is achieved.... he could in fact only pay .05 a share once we hit $ 2.50. Unless I missed the option price detail somewhere.....
In reality, just about every CEO employment contract has these same clauses...... nothing unusual here.
I need the price to relax and stay here for 30 more days.....bought in a 401k account yesterday and sold in a personal account just to capture a tax loss. I'll need it for offsetting what is to come. Time to play this game like the big boys and girls. :-P
I did that same for 3900 more shares....... my cost average is dropping.
Not totally...... they raised a boat load of cash selling 20Mil shares through them
Let's put Kiwi on the case of the terminated trial....... he lives, eats, and breathes this Mitigate trial. Achems Razor suggests it terminated because it reached it's designed end. Now we would be interested in it's conclusions.
Kudos to you FFS....... you nailed this one. Did you trade off this prediction? Where do you think we go from here?
Well done Capt'n. You affected the share price in a positive way.
You can't just withdraw an indication unless you've uncovered some issue with safety of the medication.
Du already eliminated the patent for Trigs > 500.
As always..... thank you Capt'n and Raf. I look forward to these numbers every week.
Agreed....... it wouldn't sell. As much as I'd like something like that work, the packaging alone would add cost and be cumbersome for the consumer.
Captn...... great idea to overlay the R&D spend. Thanks again for your contributions to this board.
Well put together Denner...... I mean Talshu I need to mark this interesting and informative post.
Captn..... you rock... thanks.
Thanks Capt'n and Raf.....your efforts are appreciated.
Hi North, how does the package insert do everything you claim?......there's no doubt that they are infringing on our CVD patents but this insert if this is all it states does not show anything other than hey consumer, if you were wondering what IPE is, here's what it is.....
“What is icosapent?”
“Icosapent is used together with other medicines (such as statins) to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and some types of heart problems that need hospitalization in adults.”
“Icosapent is used together with a low fat and low cholesterol diet to reduce triglycerides (fats) in adults with severely high triglycerides.”
They sell icosapant........ they are telling the consumer what it does..... the consumer is not supposed to have their IPE for our CVD indication but that's a different matter than this insert.
Looks like another whiner festival today........... stop whining about the situation we're in......we all know the score here. You need approvals to sell a drug in another country. You then need to negotiate reimbursements from Healthcare systems. You then need to sell the drug at a profit. So do us all a favor and stop yer bitchin on this message board. Sell your shares or create your own Sarissa/Denner/Amarin cry baby board.
My point is that the insert alone doesn't seem like infringement to me.
So, I opened the DRL package insert, and I found this wording under the heading:
“What is icosapent?”
“Icosapent is used together with other medicines (such as statins) to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and some types of heart problems that need hospitalization in adults.”
“Icosapent is used together with a low fat and low cholesterol diet to reduce triglycerides (fats) in adults with severely high triglycerides.”
All this document does is informs someone of what IPE is.
Hi Captn,
The part about the insert describing what IPE is would not be considered infringement because they would claim it's just educational......
This part certainly seems like induced infringement by your Dr and your Insurance company....
After 9 years of being on a VASCEPA® Rx my doctor and my insurance company (TriCare for Life administered through Express Scripts), informed me that they wanted to substitute my VASCEPA® for Dr. Reddy’s icosapent ethyl caps.
Hi Rose....... I'm about to check the "should have sold in the $20's bin" I'm optimistic that I'll find a few in there.
I keep adding shares at these levels so some would argue that I've actually lost my mind.
