By my quick calculations for a one day spike to occur to raise the 50 above the 200 the price would have to skyrocket to $18.14. However, if the price was as $9.39 for two days you get the same effect. So you get the idea that averages are a matter of both price and time.
Agreed, if they get approval, at least one customer is in the bag.
I'm a bit puzzled by today's activity. Very high volume and I don't see the clear reason. The patent activity is good news, but I don't see it as great news. Been there done that many times over and that kind of news doesn't usually cause such excitement among buyers. The News that LQMT can use another metal formulation is good news, but without an announcement it was too subtle to cause the volume spike. So either there is/are a a/few excited investors jumping in in a big way today or there is something brewing with some people knowing that something is coming.
Just my impressions. Happy to hear other's thoughts.
Well I need it to hit $1.50 to pay off my mortgage in Mill Valley. Small world.
Nice, he will not have a salary. He owns stock like we do and only gets paid if it goes up. Very different than what we had with the last guy.
Yes, it seems obvious that whatever will be discussed with us will be discussed in Chinese a few days later.
I can't tell if it says LM or LIM. The latter would make sense because the article describes their use of the machines for silicone injection molding. I also don't see a liquidmetal logo at the bottom, like on Engel's site. Then again I can't read the vertical script, does that say Liquidmetal? Most likely this is silicon, but maybe?
I'm of the opinion that for the share price to make any new lasting movement that we do need news of new orders. The old song and dance no longer gets you more than a day's spike. I was surprised at how little the stock moved when Li finalized his investment. That should have been a bigger deal, but the news hardly made it past this forum and we had just a little blip.
The upcoming call will allow another chance to reiterate the investment as a news item, but if that and some discussion of personnel changes is it, then we go nowhere - or down.
Regarding the Eontec presentation posted last week, I note that much of what was on those slides was old news. So do we get more promises for the future, or has someone finally ordered? In regards to Apple, no way do they allow official news out on a new iPhone.
I too am encouraged by our interests as shareholders being shared by Li and Chung's recent investment. Those facts give me more reason for optimism than anything else.
It's true, search Yahoo Business News
Yes impressive, but perhaps a bit young.
I saw that as well this morning. No new information, in fact some aspects are not up to date. Nonetheless, I was happy to see any news posted on Yahoo Finance rather than the weeks and months that usually go by between postings.
I wonder what the record is for lowest trading volume?
Look under the blog, it is on the right midway down.
What ever happened to the missile canards? Wasn't some possible news due in Fall of this year?
I think you are correct. My bet is China is holding up the transfer.
A reasonable assumption. There is either good reason to be optimistic, or there is one rich fool in China. I much prefer optimism.
Could very well be bridge pins.
If Martin sells LM bridge pins that are somehow better than the regular plastic ones, then any guitarist can buy them and swap out their pins.
The iPhone is such a large seller and so critical for Apple that they would have to have a proven manufacturer for the case. I'm not sure LQMT has proven itself capable of producing such a high volume product. Unless, Apple has been planning to do this without LQMT.
I agree that if they are to manufacture that they need to grow slow, they really don't have the capital to expand rapidly.
Although I can stand a low PPS for some time, my main concern is what this says to new customers. I worry that all the positive things can be wiped out by the perception that LQMT is one bad day away from closing its doors.
Does it matter? In my experience most of what passes for press simply represents mouthpieces for those that wish to use them. For an article such as that in some trade magazine, I'm sure the author was happy to have as much info fed to them as possible, to make their job easier. Perhaps they were paid, perhaps it is payback for advertising bought in the journal by Engle I don't know. It is clear that it is a clear review of the bull case for LM. It is in now way attempting to offer the competition's point of view. So it is advertising on way or another.
I am happy to see it.
I'm around $0.18.
I'm not terribly optimistic about next week, mostly due to the long track record of disappointments. I think we will have to wait another quarter to see some results.
I agree that with all the RFQs that something may be said about more of these and maybe some mention of a prototype. My guess is the knife will add very little to revenue. Overall, I predict more optimistic hand waving, but nothing that will significantly move the PPS.
I'm still long for at least through the Fall.
I would not be so concerned about the 80-ish gram limit until we've seen them exhaust the universe of possibilities below the limit. The patent for tiny screws seems like a great example of small things.
