Here's an interesting site I came across. Anyone know anything about it?
http://www.sitefocus.com/sentiment/sentimentnewsdemo?k1=2015/02/20&k2=04:58:02&k3=1424437082822
It just shows how devious that guy is. He never posted the response he got. You can bet if she had responded with a negative comment he would have posted it a 1000 times by now.
I also have come to the conclusion that flyboys, zigzag, and techstockforummies are all the same person, BUT I don't believe they are also DS. Doesn't DS live in Canada? I think this other guy lives in Maryland.
So here's an alert I got from Street Insider:
"Sphere 3D (ANY) Target of Negative Report
Sphere 3D (NASDAQ: ANY) is this morning's Top Short idea at Seeking Alpha PRO, which claims the company's top relationships are illusory, according to sources.
Among other things the article purports to show that Sphere 3D relationship with Corel has come to an unceremonious end. Additionally, it's relationship with Chesterfield County Schools is not at all finalized."
Here's how the article should really read:
I am short Sphere 3D and desperate because of all the good things happening at the company. I won't talk about any of these good things because then you would want to buy shares and I need you to sell shares.
Instead I will talk about the really bad things like a deal made with Corel back in May 2013 that didn't work out. Yeah, I know it was experimental and nobody really cares about it or talks about it and that at this stage it is completely meaningless, but I think it's really bad.
And I will talk about about the Chesterfield Schools deal that the company never even announced. Yes, I know that articles have been written about it and it is probably a very good thing, but I'll just try to make it sound like a negative because I really don't have anything else.
I'll also try to imply that all the terrific partnerships the company has recently announced are not so terrific. I'll so this by saying I heard it from anonymous sources. That's always a good technique. \
I will also be sure not to include all the great testimonials from tech experts and Sphere customers like these:
Laura Didio, famed tech reviewer tested GlassWare and said: " it does everything it claims to do. Sphere3D Glassware 2.0 & V3 Appliances are all excellent."
Simon Bramfitt says: "both Glassware and V3 have a genuinely new take on the business of getting Windows applications (Glassware) and Windows desktops (V3) in front of end-users."
Dustin Hardin, Director of Technology of New Caney ISD, a current Glassware customer said: "We tried traditional virtualization techniques but the specific applications we needed couldn't virtualize or wouldn't scale. With our Glassware 2.0 enabled Dell(TM) server, we were able to virtualize the applications we needed and future proof our investment in Chromebooks for our students."
Paul Shumway, Senior Vice President of Novarad said: "We have tested many of today's leading virtualization technologies and have looked at a number of potential solutions; none were able to deliver the simple migration to virtualization and incredible performance that we get from the Sphere 3D approach to virtual computing. The first time we saw our products run on Glassware 2.0, we were sold."
Vibhor Kapoor, Director, Microsoft Azure Product Marketing said “By working closely with Sphere 3D, we are able to continue to deliver on that commitment and provide a new level of flexibility for organizations looking for scalable application delivery from the cloud.”
Bryan Bleil, vice president of online technology implementation at Pearson. “We welcome Glassware 2.0 into the TestNav Qualified program as a technology provider that shares our goal for enhanced learning capabilities through technology adoption.”
So there, you can see what a horrible investment this Sphere 3D is. Now will you please sell some shares so me and my buddies can get out of our short before this thing triples? Thanks.
"next reporting date in Aug as the time when actual revenues for Q1 2015 greatly exceed what was estimated, and only then will we likely see a major jump in share price to truly reflect the value of this great company. "
Couldn't disagree more.
How many more announcements of deals might be made between now & and the August earnings date? We will know far before August how the company is doing. And the right announcements could double or triple the price in the blink of an eye, especially since the price has already been double what it is right now.
"Gartner research predicts the global desktop virtualization market to surpass $65 billion in 2015."
How much would Sphere be worth if they were able to get about 2% of this?
Well S.E., before I went out I raised my bid to 5.05. I see it got filled.
How did you do?
Back atcha.
But gotta go now. So this is not going to be a bidding war.
Don't know, but I do know that no one seems willing to sell me a measly 250 shares @ $5.
For those who use Ameritrade:
For some reason Ameritrade's system has always shown ANY as an OTC:BB stock. I had noticed it previously when I entered tried to enter Stop Market limit buy orders. It would reject my order and say that only Stop Limit buy orders were allowed on OTC:bb stocks.
Then today when I went to enter an after hours buy order, I got the message that they were not allowed on OTC:BB stocks.
So I called Ameritrade. Turns out their system had ANY incorrectly listed. They now have made the change and now ANY shares have none of the previous restrictions. They even gave me 5 free trades for pointing this error out to them.
Have no idea what this announcement means.

Sphere 3D Will Begin Trading on New CUSIP Number Tuesday, March 24, 2015
SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 23, 2015) - Sphere 3D Corporation (NASDAQ: ANY), a virtualization and data management solutions provider, today announced that its common stock will begin trading on a new CUSIP number on the NASDAQ Global Market tomorrow, March 24, 2015. In addition, the Company will change its name from Sphere 3D Corporation to Sphere 3D Corp. upon completion of a short-form amalgamation with a wholly owned subsidiary.

Combine all this with glowing reviews from tech experts like Laura DiDio and Simon Bramfitt and customers like New Caney School District , NovaRad, and MicroSoft, and anyone with an ounce of intelligence can see that Sphere and GlassWare have been validated beyond our fondest expectations. The next steps of adoption and monetization will come with great fury. As they do, the shorts will lose their grip over this equity as they suffer great losses and huge fortunes will be made by early longs with the fortitude to stay the course.

"Sons,,first of all he's not my broker"
OK, Chippo, let's get this story straight.
In your first message it sounded like the information came from YOUR broker who is a good friend of YOURS. Now I guess the truth is that it came from a friend of yours who heard it from his broker.
So what we have is second hand info coming from a friend who says his ML broker told him that Sphere insiders had SOLD 260,000 of their shares but there has been no report of this from the SEC and the names of those who sold are anonymous.
Then you say: "I'm only telling you what i heard and looking if someone out here can either back-up or better yet, flat out shoot this story down.....No sense in being paranoid here....This board is what it is,,,a DISCUSSION BOARD......"
Correction. this is a DISCUSSION BOARD FOR SERIOUS MATTERS not about inane nonsense. If you are really long ANY, my advice would be to get the name of the broker and report him to the SEC for spreading vicious, false rumors. OK?
Or if this broker doesn't actually exist, then you should report yourself to the SEC for spreading vicious, false rumors. OK?
GEEZ!
So Chippo, Sphere insiders have been violating SEC rules by buying or selling shares in their company without filing the proper forms. Rather than do that, they decided to just tell your friend the broker about it so that he could spread the word.
Sounds legitimate to me.
Looks like Moez Kassam exists. A principal of Anson.

Thank you, thank, thank you.
That Laura DiDio tweet might be the most important piece of news ever.
A preeminent person in the tech industry saying that GlassWare does everything it claims to do and Sphere3D Glassware 2.0 & V3 Appliances are all excellent.
That is FANTASTICALLY POWERFUL and completely takes away the argument the shorts have been pushing for months. I think this will be the start of an ANY MONSTER MOVE.
" If Morelli/PB says that GW can address GPU concerns, I will believe them rather than some other poster of which I know not their background.
Would not surprise me if the background of this poster with a brand new I.D. was actually derek32smith.
Certainly this comment is Smithish:
"And sorry, but any computer engineer will chuckle at the concept of software converting a sound card to a GPU. No, that's not true, they will laugh their ass off. "
New Patent.
Don't remember anyone posting about this and have no idea as to its significance, but here it is:
Overland (Sphere 3D) Assigned Patent
Load balancing drives and servers by pushing copy of frequently accessed file to another disk drive
By Francis Pelletier on 2015.03.11
Overland Storage, Inc., San Diego, CA, has been assigned a patent (8,943,513) developed by Ulrich, Thomas R., Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Schweitzer, James R., Huntington Beach, CA, Bolstad, Gregory D., Tustin, CA, Randall, Jay G., and Staub, John R., Newport Beach, CA, for a “systems and methods for load balancing drives and servers by pushing a copy of a frequently accessed file to another disk drive.”
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “A file system that balances the loading of filers and the capacity of drives that are associated with the filers is described. The file system includes a first disk drive that includes a first unused capacity and a second disk drive that includes a second unused capacity, wherein the second unused capacity is smaller than the first unused capacity. The file system further includes a first filer that is configured to fill requests from clients through access to at least the first disk drive. The file system further includes a second filer that is configured to fill requests from clients through access to at least the second disk drive. The second filer is configured to select an infrequently accessed file from the second disk drive and to push the infrequently accessed files to the first disk drive, thereby improving a balance of unused capacity between the first and second disk drives without substantially affecting a loading for each of the first and second filers.“
The patent application was filed on September 13, 2012 (13/615,236).

It looks like GlassWare is just one of three that have become TestNav Qualified.
The other two are Ericom & VMware.
Since Pearson has had a myriad of problems in their testing program, I would imagine the new kid on the block will be given a really good workout.
If you Google "TestNavQualified, the first thing that appears is this:
TestNav Qualified
www.testnavqualified.com/
Leading the assessment industry in technical integration, the TestNav Qualified program provides customers with various technology options for test assessment ...
Then there are 6 options to click on. One of them is this:
TestNav 7.5
Glassware 2.0 for TestNav 7.5 ...
So there is Glassware right on the first page. Click on that and you get all the info about using Glassware with Chromebooks for testing:

Strength Seen in Sphere 3D (ANY): Stock Gains 6.9% - Tale of the Tape

Sphere 3D Corporation ANY
was a big mover last session, as the company saw its shares rise almost 7% on the day. The move came on solid volume too with far more shares changing hands than in a normal session. This continues Friday's uptrend for the company - as the stock is now up almost 99% since Feb 13.
The company has seen no estimate revision over the past 30 days, while the Zacks Consensus Estimate remained unchanged. The recent price action is encouraging though, so make sure to keep a close watch on this firm in the near future.
Sphere 3D currently has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) while its Earnings ESP is 0.00%.

And just think, if PineTree hung on to at least 2,500,000 shares during this upswing, they would be up about $9M from Spheres' low. And if they sold 750,000 at an average of around $4, that's another $3M they raised. So between the two, that would be about $13M of the $20M they needed by June.
Also the share price of PineTree has gone from a low of .05 to .18 today. Looks like they are going to get thru this without having to decimate their ANY holdings. That's a good thing.
"yes, i know i know, the likes of google msft etc had to contend with these nutty types, but still, what if ANYthing might be done? He is happy to pollute information streams with his gun"
The ability of Sphere bashers like techstockfordummies/flyboys to influence any Sphere watchers has become greatly diminished.
Their short argument had been that Sphere was a scam, the managment were a bunch of criminals, and that GlassWare was worthless. Those were powerful scare tactics before time and the achievements of Sphere proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that those arguments were FALSE.
Hard to continue to make that case when school district administrators are saying that GlassWare solved their problems when no other product could. When knowledgeable tech people like Simon Bramfitt praise the product and respected people in the industry like Peter Bookman, Michael Keen, etc. come to work for the company. And when big outfits like Atos, Promark, etc. partner with Sphere. Too many other positives to list them all here that add to Spheres' credibility.
So now they try some really weak arguments like the deal with Corel didn't do anything. Who cares. The company is small so they can't compete. But really Sphere is teaming up with the biggies rather than competing and of course many of the biggies were once small themselves. And finally they laugh at the small amount of revenues Sphere is producing. But anyone with a brain knows that this is changing rapidly as it does for all small companies with a great product and great management.
So at this point bashers like flyboys, TSFD, Keubiko, Derek32Smith and the rest of them should be pitied rather than feared.
Thanks Mr. M.
Had not looked at that Yahoo message board in many months and when I took a quick look, back in December, I saw that it had been almost completely taken over by bashers. As there is an overabundance of positivity on the IHub board I thought it might be a good idea to spend the time on the other board trying to refute some of the negativity by questioning the claims of the bashers.
I think there actually has been an improvement in the attitude over there and I think it has some importance as it wouldn't surprise me if new eyes on ANY stock look at Yahoo probably more than IHub.
I again thank you for your compliments and say BACK ATCHA.
Darn.
You got me chuckling out loud again with your Apophis imitation.
Knock it off. This is serious business. My estimate for end of day is $110.
Thanks donkschmonk & hugo.
I believe Sheldon & PineTree are the real last anchor on ANY's share price.
Ideal scenario would be for their holdings to continually go down as Spheres' share price goes up. That seems to be happening now.
Form 13G filed.
Shows Sheldon owns 1,051,873 shares.
Anyone know if this represents an increase or decrease?

Can The Uptrend Continue for Sphere 3D (ANY)? - Tale of the Tape
Zacks By Zacks Equity Research
Investors certainly have to be happy with Sphere 3D Corporation (ANY) and its short term performance. After all, the stock has jumped by 13% in the past 4 weeks, and it is also above its 20 Day Simple Moving Average as well. This is certainly a good trend, but investors are probably asking themselves, can this positive trend continue for ANY?
While we can never know for sure, it is pretty encouraging that estimates for ANY have moved higher in the past few weeks, meaning that analyst sentiment is moving in the right way. Plus, the stock actually has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), so the recent move higher for this spotlighted company may definitely continue over the next few weeks.

I am sure many of you have read the recent positive S.A. article by Shareholders Unite. Don't know how many read the comments that follow. So far there has been 139 comments. Most of them are driven by a poster who uses the I.D. of techstocksfordummies and is probably the most active Sphere basher in existence, posting on about every Sphere message board and using a variety of I.D.'s. Anyway, his usual technique is to ignore anything good about Sphere, imply all kinds of (unproven) bad things about Sphere and try to divert the conversation to irrelevant things. Below is one of my responses to him. I am bringing it over here only because silverline requested I do so.

If there was a prize for who can give responses to messages by going most off-topic, you would win hands down.
My message was NOT about Apple not being a big company and selling a lot of computers. They are and they do.
My message was NOT about Google NEEDING GlassWare to sell Chromebooks. They don't. And I never said that Sphere sells Chromebooks and that Google sells GlassWare. They don't and they don't.
OK, now that we have gone through all your irrelevant diversionary blather, here is what it is all about.
Companies sell cars. Other companies sell gas. People buy cars & gas. Another company comes along and creates an additive to add to the gas that goes in those peoples cars and the people find out that by using it they get 10 miles per gallon more. That saves the people a lot of money, so many people buy the product. Do all of the people buy the product? No. But it is a very large market and this small company sells enough to make a lot of money and their share price increases many fold.
Now as usual there are detractors. Some might be competitors who sell other additives. Some might just (for personal reasons) have a grudge against the company. Some might have shorted the companies stock because they thought it would fail. So these people start attacking the company & its product. They say the product really doesn't do what the company claims. But since it does, there are no auto experts willing to back up this claim and there are several experts who do say the product is great. So then they start bashing the company because it is small. They say it can't compete with the big companies. But many small companies with good & different products are able to succeed and become pretty big themselves. That's what competition & capitalism is all about.
So, is Sphere going to drive Apple out of business? NO. Is every school district going to buy Chromebooks? NO. Are all the ones who buy Chromebooks going to buy GlassWare? NO. BUT, this is a large market and just getting a portion of it can be huge for a small company.
Then of course this is just one potential source of revenues for Sphere. They are playing in the cloud computing, virtualization, and storage markets. Those are monster markets & growing. Just getting a very small market share can provide Sphere with revenues making the company worth many, many multiples from the current share price. It can be a real wealth builder for those who get in early. And it is something that can happen very fast. Announcement of one or more sizeable GlassWare sales could cause an almost immediate double or triple. And then it's off to the races. You place your bet, you take your chances."
Nice GlassWare write-up in CIOReview Magazine:
http://education.cioreview.com/news/sphere-3d-provides-glassware-20-for-seamless-application-performance-in-k12-schools-nid-5025-cid-27.html
I am no tech expert but it seems that "Any device, anywhere, anytime" is pretty common. What seems to differentiate GlassWare is the "any software".
I am waiting to see if that 19000 is real or a spoof. If it is real and gets burned through, I definitely will buy some more shares.
"The great thing is there are buyers and they continue to accumulate regardless."
I agree. Earlier there was a legitimate sale order on the ask of over 8,000 shares at 4.44. That got taken out in a few minutes. Now if a stock were trading normally, when something like that happens it usually signals a fairly decent run up. But since ANY is being artificially manipulated, it only got up to 4.49 and then small asks took it right back down to 4.40. That seems to be the price that shorts want to keep it at or below.
Would love to see any kind of news of a decent sale of GlassWare. That would put an end to this nonsense.
Probably a spoof order right now with 19,000 on the ask at 4.40. This type of thing has gotten so much more prevalent and should be stopped. It really does interfere with the free flow of a stocks price. It also would be nice if asks like that which are short sales could be identified as such. Makes a big difference knowing if someone actually wants to sell a large number of shares that they own or if it is just a short seller playing games.
