Edge...did your family who purchased stock in Bourque, ever sell out?...if I remember correctly, you mentioned that they had invested a significant amount and if it crashed and burned, they would be living with you (i think that was a joke though...lol). Just curious if they kept strong and are holding.
Thanks for the info smartarmor...if it really is a problem with the label, as stated by slick in ref to Bourque's email, hopefully they have resolved the problem and are waiting back from nij.
Yep...nij has been right around the corner now for what seems like eternity now. Anyone have any updates? Smartarmor...I believe you offered some info about this awhile back....you have anything you can add or how much longer it could be since we are past the 90 days now?
Thanks slick. Yea I don't think John11 stated they would be at the show...just advised that they would be in Vegas for a demo. When I had read J2's post, I thought that it might be the SHOT Show...however no one answered me when I asked the question on the board. I believe the show ends today.
What gets me...if they can post a few messages about their website being down and the other small gun show they attended in Phoenix then why not put a posting about the SHOT Show "range day" event. IMO the SHOT Show is much bigger and looking at the vendors a bigger focus towards military and LE then the other show. And don't say that it takes time to put a posting up. I'm sure Andrew could have done it from his smart phone in about 20 sec. I know people want to know what is going on...and I think that could have been an easy one to inform investors about.
Slick...
where did you get the info to confirm that Bourque was at the Shot Show in Vegas?...I posed this question to J11 and the board a few days ago and got no response.
I also looked at their website: http://www.shotshow.org/
...looking under the exhibitor list and live events/demo section I did not see Bourque listed.
Just curious how you confirmed this.
BTU...I agree. I went on a rampage today and started making calls. I followed up on ATLs message from the other day and decided to call 1&1 hosting, their web hosting company, to see if I could get any further information/details.
website with contact numbers:
http://order.1and1.com/Home;jsessionid=5F5343329373528F2C8465663FEF64E3.TCpfix244a?ac=OM.US.US430K04999T4040a&ovm_kp=brand&ovm_sc=brand&gclid=CKC-rrGl3a0CFQGd7QodQhc_IA
I spoke to two different reps. To confirm with ATL...the first rep said that the account had been suspended due to "non payment"...she then advised that the bill department could provide further details. I was transferred and the 2nd rep had an attitude with me and stated she could not provide information because it was confidential...however she would notify Bourque Industries of the problem. I ended up hanging up on her...because of her attitude. Maybe they had been receiving a lot of calls...not sure.
I read Bourque's new update on FB. If you look at the rates on the hosting website...they seem reletively inexpensive. My question for anyone who knows, does Bourque take care and update their own webpage in house, or do they have someone else (outside company) work on the web page. I thought that Len C the chief branding officer took care of it? According to FB...Bourque stated that they were working with their "vendor" who handles their web contracts. Either Bourque did not pay the vendor for their work or the vendor screwed up.
Either way...IMO like yellowcat stated look what it did to us today. Definelty does not look good and we payed for it with the big decrease again. I feel we are on the path of what Rock stated and will see the 30 cents again soon. Little mistakes add up and have large penalties. If the bourque team doesn't get their head out of their you know what...it is going to be devastating IMO.
I also put a call into NIJ but wasn't able to get ahold of anyone. I sent them an email to try and get some info. I will advise if I hear anything back.
Been a lot of things lately that are not making sense...and is not looking good for future investors or the company. Maybe I am missing something.
which = terrible news...which is at least some news...just bad news. PW...I hope your quote has some type of underlying meaning that is good. I am long and hoping my investment doesn't look like $0.00 in the end.
Is it just me?...I feel I would be crazy to put more money into this right now. No news, many mistakes that have been made and are foolish IMO and the PPS has continued to go down. PW and Dunno...you must know something to be willing to put more into this or you definetly are willing to take on more risk than I am. Everyday we have continued to drop 2-5 cents again in a day for how long now? I think I remember only seeing one up day in the last week.
We must still be in that "critical period" that John11 stated awhile ago..."two more weeks" and we should be out of it!
By the way PW...do you have any update on the communication between Pratt and Whitney?
Many flags IMO lately...and the silence kills me. I thought it was brought to Andrew's attention about better communication? and more updates more frequently to the website that doesn't exist anymore!!!...maybe I am that stupid and not seeing something here. Did they close down the other website to create/launch a more professional finalized website? possibly? I don't expect much...but it has been too silent lately. Trying not to complain, but just becoming extremely frustrated. Thought I would vent a little.
Wow BTU...I don't think I have ever seen such a negative post from you. I completely agree with everything you say...and I am sick of the excuses and mistakes that have been made by the company. If it is not one thing it is another. I understand they are a small company and all with few employees...but it seems like such small tasks can't even be completed. Just off the top of my head, I can think of many excuses and mistakes that have already happened....goes from NIJ original mistake on application to wrong cooling tower being delivered to CE being removed to now the website...and and can't forget that they cannot submit the current financials on time. I could probably think of more.
It is becoming very frustrating...but there is nothing we can do. They either have something in the works that isn't being released or they are already dead company and are just hanging in there. It just seems everyday that there is more bad news and no information released to the shareholders. If they have the time to write a simple message that their website is down on facebook...I'm sure they could release something else. I guess I am just trying to give them the benefit of the doubt here...no excuses really and not trying to defend them.
I guess John11's message was positive the other day...and that is about the only thing that keeps me hanging by a thread right now.
By the way...have you talked to your friend that works for them? Is he still as positive and excited as before...please tell me something good!
Thanks atl...nice for you to offer to pay also. Do you know if their fee is around $40 like you mentioned in your previous post? Hopefully it was just a mistake on their part...overlooking the bill with everything else going on...then again there have been a lot of mistakes it seems like lately, which does not make the company look very good imo.
Posted a few minutes ago on facebook
"Hi everyone! We're experiencing some technical issues with our website. Hopefully it will be back up by the end of the day. Thanks for your patience!"
...I know some posted about it, but let's not come to the conclusion (unless it is a known fact) that bourque did not pay their web server fee because they are low on money. Could have been a mistake on the server companies end of not entering payment or some other technical problem...we all know how those go.
Another good catch slick...it really seems like everything is coming down to cost at this point, which is something I don't think anyone knows besides the bourque team. That is a drastic cut from 500k to 230K per vehicle. Like battleship and the article states, it seems bourque is doing everything right so far by catering to the military with weight savings and more mobile vehicles. From other articles and PRs it was mentioned that their armor could save anywhere from 30 to 50% in weight reduction. I just think it is going to come down to the price...in the long run. Maybe the military already "knows" it is superior but too expensive like you stated...but it seems they are interested which is a good thing.
John11...another quick question. I was told that the the SHOT Show in Las Vegas (Sands Expo Convention Center) was taking place. Starting today (17th) and running through the 20th and was curious if that is why Bourque is in Vegas.
I could not find them on the Exhibitor List: http://shot12.mapyourshow.com/5_0/exhibitor_results.cfm?type=alpha&alpha=B&CFID=34186124&CFTOKEN=aedcee35c91c5968-42ED390E-02EE-34AC-8855EDD21BD37CE5
Or are they doing something else for a LE or Military that you can share? Just seemed like a coincidence that they are there at the same time.
good catch Battleship...i guess I didn't read as thorough as you did to catch that. It does seem that BI is designing their material and vehicles towards everything the military wants because the kryron armor system is a layered system with the kryron aluminum and the layering of spectra to stop shatter and spalling. I guess it will come down to the price factor...if it is affordable to the military and their new shrinking budget.
John11...do you know when it happened? Tried looking up on Tuscon Police Beats to look at report since everything is public record.
I guess he was telling the truth and was a disgruntled worker.
Interestng article just released in NDIA magazaine about armored vehicles.
http://www.nationaldefensemagazine.org/archive/2012/February/Pages/Stronger-Than-SteelLightCombatTrucksStillaPipedream.aspx
...definetly not good news for bourque.
Everything they discuss in the article talks about lighter vehicles, more protection, being more mobile and cost savings in relation to what the military wants...however the article states “There isn’t a silver bullet when it comes to blast and ballistic protection for our vehicles,” he said. “It’s not a single-point solution.”
Article also advises "There is no novel lightweight armor material that has allowed us to achieve our weight savings,” Halloran said.
It seems that Bourque's prototype vehicle with STRATS would be lighter, very mobile and extremely well protected...but we don't know what the cost is as of yet which could be a problem.
OR
they are still unaware of kryron...but I find that hard to believe with all the tests that have been put on for the Army and military
Good find again slick...guess I didn't miss it in Ibox then. Thanks to KZ for getting it up there too. I always check for new articles daily and try to post them if I discover anything. How did you run across the MOAA one today? Surprised it has been out since Dec 5th and no one else has seen or mentioned it. Glad to hear the helmet is back in the picture as they talk about a recent test thety conducted...that kind of article written by a free lance writer and published in MOAA is motivating and the kind of article I like to read.
Thanks for the links slick...I think I had read all of them...including everything in the I box, however I had not read the last article - mil tech on Dec 5th. I guess I must have passed over it in the I box...very impressive
Hope the news is real this time and not just some rumor or speculation....guess we will see. Should only be "2 weeks" until we find out.
How about we stop beating the baby seal and discussing all the things that people are upset that happened in the past in reference decisions made by Bourque mgt. Nothing we say or do on this board is going to change anything and that is a fact. Yes there are a lot of people that are upset...including myself, but there is nothing I can do at this point besides sell out with a loss or hold on tight. At this time I choose the second option. Would be nice to discuss the good or bad about future of Bourque potential. Dwelling on the past won't do much...and I'm tired of reading the posts.
I thought you had some little birds that tweeted time to time in your ear 767?...is this not the case anymore? Were the things you stated in the past based on speculation?...or were they facts?. Seems like a lot of members of this board who were overly optimistic are not so much anymore IMO.
Bourque's quest for NIJ certification is starting to remind me of Pinnacle/Dragonskin story all over again with the NIJ. If you are not familiar with it...read up on it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Skin
...what a mess that was and I believe still is. Many small technical issues that NIJ brought upon the company IMO.
Worth a read...and I hope this is not the case with Bourque.
Jon...I can confirm that the order was delivered. I know deputies within the Sheriffs Office who have confirmed this. Also...I believe the PR stated that the plates were delivered to Collier County Sheriff's Office.
Thanks speedo...yes I am familiar with area and believe I may have spoken to that individual in past too. Hopefully something good happens soon...we need something. As I said though, I doubt it would put everyone else out of business, but the company and product has potential if they can break into the market. Need production and contracts!
Speedo...who was the deputy? I am familiar with some in the county and have spoke to Lewis in the past. Sounds like good news but doubt it would put everyone else out of business.
Thanks for joining the board and the post iflyby...you seem very knowledgeable and have experience in this matter.
I have read every post on this board from day 1. In reference to what you stated..."quality system let alone audited and registered as a ISO9001 facility. Nor did they have BA9000 approvals (NIJ Quality Management System). Without an approved quality system it would be difficult for a government organization to award a contract"...I do not believe we have discussed the ISO9001 or BA9000 and I was unaware of even what they were "termed" for that matter.
I know one of KZmike's past concerns was in reference to the quality control plan in the past and has discussed it. Both KZmike and I believe PWron have discussed this with Bourque Officials during their meeting and can probably shed more light on the progress of this matter. I am not sure what exact post it is, but you should be able to find the info in the sticky notes or look at KZmikes previous posts.
KZmike copy and pasted an email from Andrew approx. 2 weeks ago stating that the NIJ cert was due "any minute now"...and nothing has come about yet. The problem at that time was a label problem that had to be corrected from the company...Andrew stated that a letter had to be sent to verify that the material/label was correct.
I would hope that if the only problem was the label that a Quality control plan was already approved by NIJ...unless Bourque has been keeping us in the dark and their our other issues, which could be the problem. KZ...is there any update or infor you can share about this?...we have not heard from you in awile.
On another note...it concerns me about the data/testing that they have not done and/or are not able to provide. IMO...it comes down to two issues:
1) lack of money to have product tested (which does not seem to be an issue because of certain members that have stated they could get some tests/data obtained at "next to nothing" through resources they have.
OR
2) The company knows the product is not "superior" to other products on the market currently and they are unwilling to waste money on data. Maybe they are just hoping to get some attention by demos they put on and hoped to score a few big contracts to make some money.
I can not answer the question about "superior" to other industries besides the armor industry. I witnessed firsthand at the Naples demo the ballistic and explosive capabilities. Compared to other products on the market...Bourque's armor amazed me and is by far superior to anything else I have seen.
Hoping they have or are in the works of having a third party test the material. PWron...I know you stated a few weeks ago about the Pratt non disclosure agreement. Have you heard any updates on that?
At least obtaining the NIJ cert would be a "foot in the door" with a credible product and and test data available.
Sorry for such a long post...but you brought up some good information that got me thinking. Keep up the good work and please continue to post. At least makes for a good discussion.
Very good post Rock...could not have said it better. Hoping for the best.
gotmilk/doug...you are starting to confuse me now. I thought (with everything you have stated in the past couple of weeks)that bourque would stay in the dollar range pps for the next couple to few years. I remember reading your older post about what you thought share price would be. Do you now think that it will be up towards the $10 range again by end of year?...seems hard to believe, but would like to hope so.
John11...anything positive you can share with the board? It seems everything has been bad news lately and people are starting to lose hope/faith. Anything you can share is greatly appreciated. As you have mentioned before, I know you are in for the long haul and have a large sum of money invested in the company. Thanks
Well it seems that false info has been posted or given to ones that have spoke to bourque officials. One week everything is fine and the next it is "we are out of money". Waiting for the release of financials or someone with an answer. This reminds me of when some of the members on this board spoke of all the order rumors that haven't happened.
I take it there is some confusion then. Either the company is providing us false information or someone is not being truthful.
From kzmikes posting in November. " taking off his Lawyer's hat, Jeff indicated the future for BORK is indeed bright and that the company has solid financials, especially for a start up, saying that not having 'high leverage' payments is a luxury many start ups do not have."
Now read atl's latest message regarding their financials. Which one is the real deal? I don't think 2 months time would have caused Bork to go from "solid" financials to having another private placement because they are on verge of shutting down because no one can get paid.
Can't wait to hear the answer to this one...and I don't want to hear excuses or cheerleading answers. Let's hear some facts.
Is anyone else concerned as I am about nij cert. We are now going into the new year without a certified product. Last year is now over and with mistales, politics or whatever other excuses you want to bring up, we still have a uncertified product that isn't even being produced. What is the real hold up?
BTU...I think that is great that they are developing new metals and such, but it seems like they have too much on their hands with everything else they have going on. I am sure there are endless possibilities with the new alloys, however I agree with Beck and Atl...they need to get contracts and start producing something or everything is going to go down the tubes. If the funding is not looking so good right now and there is not a lot to look forward too, I don't know who in the right mind would invest anymore into this...I know I wouldn't. Not to mention, if they release more shares for new investors who would want to invest in the company, it would only dilute our share value more and tick off investors, unless JB or other company officials sold some of their shares to raise capital for the compnay.
If it is true that Bourque did lose the other orders/contracts...I am very dissapointed. I know the Bourque team could not predict when NIJ was going to come through, but the certification for NIJ has been ongoing since JBIT days...just look at the past PRs. If my memory serves me correct, they announced in PRs several times that NIJ was right around the corner...however it fell through. What says things are not different this time?
IMO, if they do not receive NIJ this time around, it will be devastating. Just thinkg about all the time and money spent on traveling around the country and putting on all the demos that would now have been useless because they have a uncertificied prodcut. It would sure make me upset.
There are also a lot of questions with no answers unless anyone knows?
What happened to?...
1) the helmet they had the news coverage on and demos
2) possible contracts with Colombians or Israel
3) Other plates they brought and tested at demo
4) The "critical" time period mentioned awhile back by JohnII
5) NIJ passing flying colors...yet no cert yet and approaching 90 days
6) Any progress with STRATS...unless that partnership has already been terminated
7) Progress with military...referring to test that was completed by ARMY at their testing facility, or tests performed at the "new" area 51 Dugway? or progress with homeland security.
Seems to me that a lot of good/promising "little bits" of info have been thrown out there, however it either does not appeal to anyone or we just need to give it another "two weeks"
Hoping 2012 something happens...but if it doesn't, I am sure someone will continue to say be patient and things will happen in 2013 and so on, until I am a old and disgruntled investor like some that had held shares of gpgi. Hoping that is not the case
NIJ cert should be "any second now" it was "any minute now" about two weeks ago...of course I am referring to BORK Time.
Appreciate it 767, I am long and have been since last April and will be unless some signifant bad news hits us...on another note, unless nij comes tomorrow it looks like we won't have any news or productive work going on until after Jan 2nd. According to Facebook, Bourque states they will be closed for the holidays starting tomorrow until Jan 2nd...looks like a Bork minute and day keep getting longer.
This thing sure is ready to take off...being sarcastic. I love how we get news, yet we continue to lose ground on PPS. Two options here...if you really feel this thing is going to take off it would be an excellent idea to average down or option two...if you do decide to buy more then it could be a terrible mistake as the PPS continues to tank.
Also, I am figuring out what a minute of Bork time translates too. In reference to KZ Mike's post from the other day with the copy and pasted email from Andrew...he stated NIJ should be 'any minute now' and since then a couple days of passed. Looks like a Bork minute may be a long time!
Holding long and hoping for the best! Happy Holidays to all!
I am starting to get tired of the ones on this board that constantly hound how this stock is "ready for take off or blast off" or all the other sayings with no real information to back it.
As we all saw today...a new excellent PR released and the clearance of the OTC did absolutely nothing to the share price and IMO future PRs or news that resembles these will continue to do nothing. We are past the days from last year when news of a demo spiked the stock price up by 20-30% in a day...remember those days?...then with all the news of STRATS and everything else made this stock go bonkers all to fall down.
I am not bashing the stock or company...but we need to realize that nothing is going to bring this up IMO until we have announcements of NIJ (which at this point is probably already built into PPS), some type of media attention with testing data, and orders, orders, larger orders and more orders.
Everyone can think what they want and I know many have stated there are LOTS of HUGE orders with MANY 0s behind the number...but I will not believe it until I see it.
On another note, I am happy with the progress this week and with the release of the new ultra thin trauma plate. This plate will be much more marketable with Law Enforcment in general compared to the fatboy plate. Practically every LEO who has a soft kevlar vest uses a trauma plate...or IMO would be stupid not to have one. This will open up a broad market for the plate.
According to the message on their facebook page that they will be obtaining the NIJ cert later, but will sell right away with "compliance" status makes a lot of sense since the plate is not a stand alone plate and will be used in conjunction with a already certified kevlar vest. Also happy the plate is being made in a variety of sizes for different body sizes.
Seems they are on the right path and are getting things done. Hopefully, next on the agenda is the announcment of some ORDERS and PRODUCTION of their products.
Thanks KZ...I was confused on the matter. Everyone seemed to think that we would be pink current by now, however as Rock pointed out before...the Nov. 30th financials still need to be reported before we can move forward. With the August 31 financials just being posted, it seems as if they are still trying to play catch up on the statements being filed.
On another note...that seems like good news about NIJ. I just really hope they are on the FINAL step of receiving the NIJ cert for the fatboy...it really has been a dragged out process. With minor things like the "label" that is mentioned...it seems as if any minor flaw delays the process more.
KZM...you posted last week about the response you received from Andrew in reference to financial information being submitted for OTC clearance. Was that in reference to the current finanacials that were posted to OTC or for the company to be CURRENT. I took it as in they were releasing the needed info for CURRENT...did I misunderstand?
Thanks Doug. I appreciate the information and knowledge you provide this board. You are unbiased and tell things like they are. Please do not hesitate to write on this board for good or bad or worry about kool aid drinkers getting upset. There are many here that appreciate your posts. Wish I had followed some of your previous posts and sold and bought back in....can't win them all
