Thanks for joining the board and the post iflyby...you seem very knowledgeable and have experience in this matter.

I have read every post on this board from day 1. In reference to what you stated..."quality system let alone audited and registered as a ISO9001 facility. Nor did they have BA9000 approvals (NIJ Quality Management System). Without an approved quality system it would be difficult for a government organization to award a contract"...I do not believe we have discussed the ISO9001 or BA9000 and I was unaware of even what they were "termed" for that matter.

I know one of KZmike's past concerns was in reference to the quality control plan in the past and has discussed it. Both KZmike and I believe PWron have discussed this with Bourque Officials during their meeting and can probably shed more light on the progress of this matter. I am not sure what exact post it is, but you should be able to find the info in the sticky notes or look at KZmikes previous posts.

KZmike copy and pasted an email from Andrew approx. 2 weeks ago stating that the NIJ cert was due "any minute now"...and nothing has come about yet. The problem at that time was a label problem that had to be corrected from the company...Andrew stated that a letter had to be sent to verify that the material/label was correct.

I would hope that if the only problem was the label that a Quality control plan was already approved by NIJ...unless Bourque has been keeping us in the dark and their our other issues, which could be the problem. KZ...is there any update or infor you can share about this?...we have not heard from you in awile.

On another note...it concerns me about the data/testing that they have not done and/or are not able to provide. IMO...it comes down to two issues:

1) lack of money to have product tested (which does not seem to be an issue because of certain members that have stated they could get some tests/data obtained at "next to nothing" through resources they have.

OR

2) The company knows the product is not "superior" to other products on the market currently and they are unwilling to waste money on data. Maybe they are just hoping to get some attention by demos they put on and hoped to score a few big contracts to make some money.

I can not answer the question about "superior" to other industries besides the armor industry. I witnessed firsthand at the Naples demo the ballistic and explosive capabilities. Compared to other products on the market...Bourque's armor amazed me and is by far superior to anything else I have seen.

Hoping they have or are in the works of having a third party test the material. PWron...I know you stated a few weeks ago about the Pratt non disclosure agreement. Have you heard any updates on that?

At least obtaining the NIJ cert would be a "foot in the door" with a credible product and and test data available.

Sorry for such a long post...but you brought up some good information that got me thinking. Keep up the good work and please continue to post. At least makes for a good discussion.
