Hotel Industry Rebounding – Good for TiVUS

Looking over the data for hotel absolute demand for July 2011, you wouldn’t even know we were still in a recession. A new record was broken, with 105,760,239 hotel rooms sold last month, which is up 3.6% from last July. Amazingly this is only the second time the industry has sold over 100 million rooms in a single month (the last time being last July). I think the best metrics are that the average daily rate for a room went up 3.4 percent to hit $102.50, and revenue per room finished up 4.8 percent at $70.86.

Of course this is good news for Tivus, as increased hotel room sales mean increased hotel revenue, leading to more technology spending. In general, boom times for hotels mean boom time for their vendors. The best part for Tivus, is that the luxury hotel market saw the greatest rise in demand, which is where Tivus is targeting the first installations. Now it’s time to turn these increased revenues into revenue for Tivus, which I know Phil Marriott is doing.

I would suggest ID holds many shares and has for a long time. ID is loud and bold and mostly cynical, but brings realism to conversation. The longs here are finally getting a little pay back from a long year of averaging down. We have seen what the company has done with the O/S and have come to expect the worse. Let us all hope they can get some financing on board and stop all the leaking of shares. GLTA

I don't know ID. Your guess is as good as mine. Will the company be selling 504 shares now and in the near future, I say yes. This may have been one of them. I just know from my experience, Vert on the bid is a good thing for short term. May just be a retailer using Vert, but either way I like to see it. I do think the we will see an up tick from the 245 million O/S very shortly. I learned my lesson and will be trading more of my shares while keeping my long term much smaller. GLTU

Tivu will succeed. We are 50 million shares away from max A/S. It is a race to see if they can do anything to stop RS or increase in A/S. Most longs here who have contact with the company over the past year, I bet, would say they will not stop one or the other from happening. GLTA

I am surprised we are keeping up as well as it has. Unlike the past months, we now have a little support to absorb the new shares. If we could have caught a breather from more shares, we would be climbing. I think support will wain and we go lower. I will be waiting to add as we see lower prices GLTA

Many here have been in since the highs above .15. You think they were still not bitching? The longs here have heard many deadlines and suggestions of when things were going to get done and then they never happen. So many deadlines given and missed. The IR learned its lesson, decided to keep their big mouths shut and almost shut down completely with information. Now all here are seeing a little hope but still have the same old concerns, Things are brighter but still much mud. They have a reason and a right. GLTu
