Are we paying EM Photonics to do this? I hope not.
It's too bad IHub wiped all the stickies from the boards. I'm glad you reposted.
"I expect Quantun to be in line with IAMGOLDs Niobec Opex a Kg of $12-$15 a Kg(although mining a higher grade should enable Quantum to have a lower cost)
-Conservative Capex $15 a kg"
That $12-15 figure is significant. I can't see this project not coming to fruition with a profit margin that is so large and guaranteed to grow quickly in the coming years.
I would have preferred they PR'd that news when it was fresh 2 weeks ago. The importance isn't so much the person who was hired it's why they were hired that makes it a significant event. The last two non-executive hires were PR'd.
That mention of cloud computing is very interesting. It makes me think Cisco. I still can not get the person from Cisco Technology Radar, who was initially so friendly, to respond to my emails about Lightwave.
Bintz continued.
I looked into nLight further and the company is larger than I thought. They have locations all over the world. Shanghai, Australia, Germany, France, Israel, Italy, Japan, UK, South Korea. The list goes on.
Perhaps Bintz already has strong connections with companies that would have an interest in products using our materials or even using our material in their own products? That is a good question to ask on the CC.
From what I gather Bintz will primarily be working with customers and partners. His job is going to involve a great deal of traveling.
Bintz's job at nLight posted.
Sorry there is no link but the nLight site doesn't have a direct link for individual positions.

I registered. It's in Baltimore and it's free to go... Should I just rent a bus for the Ihub board?
I wonder who Lightwave will send? They can ride with me.
It wasn't posted on this board...
I think it's a good sign. This helps support that a project like ours is worthy of an investment this size. Also, that project has been in the pipeline for years.

$2 would be nice to hit before test results come in.
My account still hasn't updated for the new symbol in our other stock. Good call on DCTH @ $1.40. Did you pick up any Iamgold? I caught the bottom almost dead on.
Interesting. The BNL SLM was mentioned in our 2/28 PR.
Looks like someone took you up on that dare. I don't see any reason to be cocky today, the aggressive morning buying we had last week isn't there this morning.
Pretty incredible Advisory board members.
These guys really caught my eye, I know it's been posted before but I have a little extra info in here.
Dick Cheney
Rupert Murdoch
Michael Steinhardt, well known hedge fund manager, came out of retirement to work for Wisdom Tree. Then later IDT who spun off GNE.
Jacob Rothschild, of RIT Capital Partners/Rothschild Capital Managment. An undisclosed entity affiliated with Rothschild purchased a 5.0% equity interest in Genie Energy
GNE owns 89% of GOGAS which Murdoch, Steinhardt, and Rothschild own minority stakes in.
About 37% owned by institutional investors.

I was hoping you typo'd CNN lol. Did this air one something or does it go straight to youtube?
Tony Fulton checking your math.
From the last news article I posted: Fulton cited “tens of billions worth of this mineral underground at Elk Creek, Nebraska. That’s a fact.”
I'm glad they put that together. NioCorp is on the ball.
True. Hopefully that Senator on the Board can do that for them. I certainly don't want any dilution to raise funds to expand marketing. When they get the partnership they're looking for that is when we will get real attention. PR's from NioCorp are really only noticed by shareholders. But a PR about a partnership with some massive company will get us major attention because it won't be NioCorp's news, it will X Giant company's news and all the people who follow them will find out about us.
NioCorp Factsheet
http://niocorp.com/images/NioCorp_fact_sheet.pdf
165,880. That is healthy volume considering no fresh news in a week.
The market cap on this is really tiny in respect to the potential. If they can get some real media attention I think we'll have a steady .50 stock without a contract.
They added some people that are major assets. They're still need a partner to fund the project so they're in the same boat as before. But now they have more hands on deck.
Golden Cross
This is the Mark Smith cross. Without that PR about him we'd still be .10-.11 cents.
These are new shareholders coming in buying this up. And you know what happens after someone is done buying a new stock with explosive potential? They tell their friends to buy it. In an ideal world another positive event will occur while the stock still has momentum.
The increase will get NioCorp some extra attention from various sources that report the biggest gainers of the day.
I don't think this changes the status of the potential merger. Bintz is down as a manager so he'll need people to manage. The lab team we have now are not device makers. Unless they plan to hire more people it would make sense if we acquired a qualified team through a merger.
That makes sense.
I sent an email to Cordovano over an hour ago asking when Bintz was hired, when he will start, and verifying that he will be relocating.
Correlation does not imply causation?
As soon as you post, boom the stock starts dropping.
I just bought some SDS. I've traded in and out of it for the past 7 months. Despite being an "Ultra Short" It seems to always work against you with the valuations going up and down.
The small aggressive buying is hopefully from people at the another company.
Things are looking good.
The first comment was mine. Eclectica.
Coming up on a 1/4 million shares traded in the U.S.! This Mark Smith news has long legs.
Fresh News Article
Nothing amazing in here but it seems Smith and Fulton are very optimistic about the project and making themselves available for interviews.
9 minutes old:
The president of Quantum Rare Earth Development hopes drilling will resume this summer after a one-year hiatus at Elk Creek and at what he describes as the largest known niobium deposit in the United States.
But first Peter Dickey and the Vancouver-based company are trying to raise as much as $20 million in private capital to carry forward with a mission that produced an initial round of drilling 65 miles southeast of Lincoln in 2011.
Central to the fundraising task is the appointment of Mark A. Smith to the advisory board. Smith recently resigned as the chief executive of Molycorp, the California company that pulled the plug on the same project in the 1970s -- before Smith’s tenure -- because of the high cost of trying to develop a site more than 1,000 feet below ground.
Smith sounded upbeat Tuesday as he talked about his decision to join the Quantum board at the same time as Tony Fulton, a former state senator from Lincoln.
“I would not become a member of the board,” Smith said in a telephone interview, “if I did not believe the project had great potential behind it.”
Fulton, a native of nearby Auburn and a mechanical engineer, said he was excited about the improved economics of mining for a rare metal used in making high-strength steel for aircraft, automobiles and other mainstream products.
“Without question,” Fulton said, “it’s feasible now.”
Later Tuesday, in a second interview, Smith acknowledged he left Molycorp in December at the request of its board and at a time when it’s under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
“I remain very comfortable with what Molycorp did, what we did,” he said, “and the company continues to cooperate totally with the SEC.”
Despite Molycorp’s portrayal of his leave-taking as a matter of mutual consent, Smith said that was not accurate.
“The board of directors decided they wanted a different CEO in December. And when you are the CEO, those types of things happen.”
He never would have left voluntarily, he said, because he believed in developing the mothballed Mountain Pass mine in California’s Mojave Desert, “and it will be wonderful when they get there.”
News accounts describe Smith as a pioneer in mining of rare earth elements.
Dickey said he had no reason to second-guess the Smith appointment, despite the SEC inquiry.
“While these sorts of things often sound very ominous, it’s not uncommon practice for securities regulators to take a closer look at a situation,” he said.
Smith has “a very significant history in the mining business,” Dickey added, and “for what I know of Mark, he’s very much welcome on our team.”
Fulton cited “tens of billions worth of this mineral underground at Elk Creek, Nebraska. That’s a fact.”
But it also will cost hundreds of millions of dollars to access the deposits, he added, and investors need to step up.
“It’s fair to say the industry, generally, has not fared very well the last couple of years” in attracting investment. “That’s why having Mark Smith joining the board, joining Quantum, is newsworthy.”

Buzz, the volume will be your only indicator for that. I was pleased to end the day both over 100k traded and over $1.20. That seems optimistic to me.
Good chance we'll see that. The weak hands have been shaken out, and as more people hear about Smith and want in on the action they'll have to take out the bids to get their shares.
Short interest:
I can't wait to see the next 15 day update. The short interest is very small regardless.

Sorry the cart is goofy I have spaces there it doesn't show properly after a copy/paste.
I bought in mildly @$6.30.
Thank you downsideup for suggesting I hold off back on December 10th!
Odds I wouldn't stress too much about that. The actual tests that will decide whether or not it works are probably going on as we speak.
Yahoo said they are getting rid of "the message boards". Which is kind of vague, but assuming they intend to get rid of them all that would include the stock boards. I guess we'll see, hopefully not.
I hope that the boards stay open because I'd like to see the PRAN board, and a handful of others stay intact. As I expected the board is unable to decide where to move to so I'm hoping that decision does not need to be made. I'm considering setting up a poll on a separate website and posting a link if it comes out they are without a doubt going away.
The message boards include all the boards tied to Yahoo Finance. http://messages.yahoo.com/
From the PR: "The 7 products that are set to be discontinued include: Yahoo App Search, Yahoo Sports IQ, Yahoo Clues, Yahoo Message Boards, Yahoo Updates API, Yahoo Avatars, and the Yahoo app for Blackberry. The Blackberry app will continue to be listed in the Blackberry App World until April 1st. Then it will no longer be available for download, and it will no longer receive any support from Yahoo."
I'd like to think they would be smart enough to leave the finance boards up. YF is one of the few good things they have. But the majority of the stock boards are overrun by spam bots, paid/unpaid bashers, and penny stock promoting frauds. The finance boards are a liability for them. Until I see a statement that says otherwise I will presume that the boards are going away.
