GFP,
Gary Johnson is no tea partier. He's not even a politician. He did two stints as governor in NM, left office (with a half billion dollar surplus, before that bloated theif Richardson took over) because he was term limited, then went back to the private sector. He is wealthy, but he's also a self-made man beholden to nobody.
He is the closest thing we may ever get to a libertarian candidate. I'm telling you that he is running for President because he cares about and wants to save this country. This is one time that your pessimism is unwarranted. Please open your mind to Gary Johnson.
MF4
GFP, Ombow,
Please check out Gary Johnson www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dxbms8VJ7Fg&feature=related
He is the guy this country needs. He was a great Governor of New Mexico!
MF4
Ombow,
what news?
Another vapor post from a dreamer. What evidence, past or present, do you have to support this thought?
MF4
Great news!
Former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson has announced his candidacy for president. The media will surely mock him for his pro-legalization stance, but I can assure you that this guy knows how to run a business and state. He is absolutly what this country needs right now. If you care about this country, educate yourself about Gary Johnson and spread the word. Amen!
Ombow,
I don't care who pays. They're too bloated and unfair. They exist to protect the republic, not grow and grow and grow. Government this huge and an ever expanding military-industrial complex can no longer be fed by the citizenry.
They create wars to fund their apetite. They create laws that remove individual liberty, like making internet poker illegal. Same goes for smoking/possessing one of god's natural plants. They need to keep the incarceration system funded.
But, the reality is that a small number of elites benefit from the massive looting these oppressive industries command, while the general public pays to support laws and actions we don't agree with. How else do you protest a rotten, corrupt system?
The constitution is a work of art. This current perversion of that sacred document is an abject tyranny. Now we see how democracy and capitalism can be bent to the will of the evil overlords. Surely some of this resonates with the bible, Ombow? Why do you refuse to open your eyes?
MF4
Ombow,
You are entitled to your opinion. A flat tax sounds good in theory. But, I guarantee that the rate would not stay at 19%. The government will just find another crisis as an excuse to ratchet it up incrementally. They have to. They are a non-value added job, just like lawyers and all beaureuacrats. They were able to create endless departments when the velocity of money was high. But now that it's low, we all realize that beuruecrats are basically the fat that must be cut. Lawyers too.
MF4
Ombow,
You say we need to increase revenue through taxation. That is correct in concept, but the current approach will fail simply because we are taxed too much already. Think about it:
Fed tax rate: 28%
State tax rate: 10%
Sales tax rate: 7%
That's 45%, almost half our income goes to pay taxes. Add to that getting retaxed on capital gains, dividends, interest, property tax. Plus, almost anything you do now adds some sort of safety tax, insurance, gas tax, on and on. Too damn much.
The velocity of money is damn near zero and that's the problem. Many people have decided not to spend anymore because costs keep going up and wages and wealth don't keep up. And the government gets ever more bloated with great retirements that we, the private sector pay for. I'm done being robbed in the hood to pay the theives on the hill.
What they need to do is cut taxes drastically and reinstate a comensurate reward to the person making the effort. Currently, we have simple redistribution of wealth. If they dropped the fed rate to 15%, States and sales taxes to 5%, that would only be one quarter of my income. That's a ratio I can live with and will be worth the added effort it takes to make more money because I'll keep more. As others do the same thing, the extra money we earned will get spent on luxury items. More people get hired. More people spend. The amount of transactions increases dramatically. The economy revives and the government gets more revenue because the velocity of money quadruples. The goverment makes 50% of 1X your way. The government makes 25% of 4X my way. My way doubles the revenue AND people are happier.
Elections do nothing because all the clowns are whores and do the same thing. I have no other power than to make sure my taxable income is so low that I'm only forced to give this shitty government a minimal amount to stay out of jail. If they would respect the constitution, and stay out of my business and quit starting senseless wars, then maybe I'd change my mind. But, since nobody will stand up to them, nothing will change.
I will continue my solitary protest,
MF4
Are you smoking crack davidal? Why would there be a buyout NOW? Endless dilutions are the only future for CORX.
MF4
Ombow,
No point in talking about us taking austerity measures when we could solve the problem by not meddling militarily in the middle east. Bush started it, Obama made it worse. Why should I pay anymore taxes to this government when I don't agree with anything they do? Then they have the nerve to tell me I can't grow my own food, smoke weed, or play internet poker? Freedom, my *ss!
Nobody brings up the idea of reducing the military-industrial complex. I'm just not buying the terrorism BS anymore. A few people with home-made bombs do much less damage than 3 never-ending wars against an ideology.
They may control the media, the government, and the FED, but we're not all stupid sheeple.
MF4
why doesn't Ron Paul engineer some kind of deal where everyone else gets paid off, but the Federal Reserve gets defaulted on? Hell, they probably engineered this whole thing in order to be able to cede this country to the IMF when we go NWO.
Am I the only one that sees the obvious nature of this coup? Clearly, most countries are headed for some kind of simulataneous debt crisis. The cure will involve tranference of state assets to the IMF, and a one world currency.
Under this scenario, the idea of "the beast", and taking a number in order to buy and sell, seems much more plausible.
MF4
I would wait until the pop from the announcement of QE3 is announced. Because the last thing these a-holes will do is be responsible.
By the way, who do we owe $14T to other than China and Japan? If it's to the FED or IMF, I say we default now and use our military to say "tough beans".
MF4
I sold at .011 and complained that I put the bottom in. Saw it rise, then grabbed some at .013 last week only to watch it close back at .011 here it languishes. I'm done trying to play this game. I will hold until it's a ten-bagger or goes to zero.
MF4
What a surprise. The expert on everything totally dismissing Beck's credible questions as "underinformed". What a blow-hard!
MF4
Haysaw,
Yeah, I saw that. I'm not sure if the universe did that to me because it wants to outlaw yet another thing I enjoy that harms no one, or if it just shows what whores work in Washington D.C.
Can you think of any reason why an activity that has no detrimental effect on anyone else in society has been made illegal, while almost every other country in the world has no issue? It's because Frist is a whore. And don't tell me gambling is an addiction. That's an excuse for weak-willed people.
We are all guilty of falling asleep at the switch, while our beautiful Constitution has been perverted at the hands of the unsleeping whores that have snuck into power. Both parties are beholden to their evil masters.
MF4
THAT is the ONLY way it stops! VIVA LA REVOLUCION'!
Bigworld,
So how do we identify and publicly hang and torture the theives that prospered by screwing the public?
MF4
starting to look like the pump and dump that happens every three months.
MF4
Other recent genious moves: Sold UNG at $10.66 - it's above $11 today.
Sold SLV at $40. Considered buying back at $39, but didn't. Today it's going over $41.
Bought Mar 5 calls on C. Watched a double evaporate and become worthless. Then bought April 4.5 calls that were in the money on Monday and will expire worthless tomorrow.
Bought KATX for a quick 3 day 30% loss.
Can't recall a good trade.
MF4
I bought ESLR yesterday at $1.71 - Saw a $.20 gain this morning evaporate. ESLR will close today at my purchase price. Then gap down tomorrow and hit new lows next week and once again I will be left holding the bag.
MF4
GFP,
I hear you, but I'm suggesting if you can hold your own, $3 tournys are the way to go. I've kept $100 in my bodog account and played for fun against good players for about 4 years now. I do a little better than break-even and once or twice a year have them send me a $100 check. I play one tourny a few times a week and it keeps me entertained and sharp.
I can play in any garage game and generally walk away with more cash in my pocket. You can spare $100 can't you?
MF4
As usual, the market is on track to go against me, as I said in my previous post. One change, I just bought the april 131 call and sold the 132. But, I'm long a May 131 call. But also long May 21 SDS calls. The only way the market can screw me in May is for SPY to sit at 131 all month, OR quickly drop to 125 or lower because the SDS calls are spread at 22 and 24, so that caps my gain on a selloff.
I love making the market jump through hoops to screw me. Amazingly, it does it everytime. Just a little fun between me and God.
MF4
texas hold-em for paper money? Really? Those games are a joke. Nobody plays with any skill because they have no scratch in the game.
Far better to play in 10 person $3 tournaments on Bodog or some other site. At least players use a little skill there. Playing for free will teach you how to be a bad poker player. But, do what you will and thanks for the invite.
MF4
The volume really isn't all that high suggesting that if there is a real reason behind this move, it could really take off when word gets out. Otherwise, it's a pump and dump, as I've seen ESLR do before.
ESLR is #7 on the %price gainers list today. What's going on? Looks like auto-triggered purchases.
MF4
Repost: Maybe my timing is off?
You have at least all of April and the first week of May to buy ESLR at this price or cheaper. It will firm up heading into earnings. But this stock will not begin a real uptrend until they can deliver positive earnings and management can demonstrate an ability to make good strategic decisions. Selling their Devens factory for an extreme loss did nothing to bolster investor confidence in this shaky group.
I think the move to China was strategic and the write-offs and extreme losses taken resulted in the reverse split effect on share price being erased. Tons of red ink showing. I'm hoping it fostered an orgy of selling and wounded longs bailing out.
If I'm correct, ESLR is building a base here. It's possible that one quarter soon, they will have positive earnings of .20-.40 If that happens the stock will be up 100-200% overninght from here. So, averaging in a little each week in April may be a good strategy. Or buying September $2 calls might be good too? Don't know how long it will take them to have positive earning though.
MF4
wow. That didn't take long. 30 minutes later and SPY is heading well above $131. Thanks universe.
MF4
Trader Alert:
It's Wednesday afternoon on option expiration week. Those that know me know that I never am allowed to profit from any of my option or stock positions (but, like and idiot, I keep trying). So, I have a number of positions that will expire Friday. I will list the ranges or levels that these positions need to finish at in order for me to remain unprofitible. The universe has proven me to be 100% reliable at losing money. So, I give this information to everybody else in order for you to profit from my unreasonably bad luck. Here goes:
C has to close at $4.60 or lower.
SDS has to close below $22.35 looks likely
SLV has to close above $38.90 It's there now.
SPY closing at $131 is my most profitible level, so it has to be +/- at least $1. But if it's lower, the SDS position may become profitible, so the likely move on the SPY is substantially higher from here.
Good luck,
MF4
Yeah, that's why the shares lost 40% in value since I bought them late tast week. I bet the big guys are unloading as much as they can this week. Going to .00005 shortly. I just dumped 90% of my recent purchase.
This will be my third strike, which includes ESLR and CORX. 3 strikes and I'm out. Or maybe that will be the last of my loser plays....hopefully.
Good luck to the KATX longs. Never bought a stock for less than a penny. If my history proves correct, I may have just put in the bottom for you all.
MF4
personally, I think nothing short of a public stoning for 24 hours followed by a very public hanging (should they survive the stoning), is absolutely warranted.
Then allow a three week grace period where everyone that wasn't caught yet could surrender all of their personal wealth to avoid their own eventual stoning/hanging. But they would be noted in the press.
That would cure the rot in the apple. Country club white collar prisons are a joke.
MF4
rylawi,
thanks for the info. Still makes me nervous to get into a penny stock with 300M shares outstanding.
MF4
Cowboys and aliens looks pretty good. 310M shares outstanding and 16M in debt, with revenue of $2M. Six employees. They make money off of licensing characters. Well, they'd need a blockbuster character like E.T. to be a home run.
I don't know if it would be a very good investment though.
MF4
The options have little volume. I think if you look at the option symbol, the non-standard ones have an extra "1" in the symbol.
I think the standard ones trade, they just have little volume and you have to pay too much premium. But, it might be worth it to get $1's if it drops to .70
MF4
Ombow,
Have you noticed that these clowns are arguing over a few billion here or there. They never mention the cost of waging war in four foriegn countries year after year. Obama got elected because people were sick of 8 years in Iraq over WMD and saw Bush as a dunce. Obama promised to withdraw troops.
Instead, he has proven to be just another globalist puppet. Now we're nation building in the oil states and oil is $115/bbl. What are we really doing there? Do we really need an expensive, intrusive Dept. of Homeland security? They might as well call it what it really is: The department of demonizing patriotic Americans that are pissed off that we are losing our rights and going broke.
Ten years ago, 3,000 Americans died as a result of a "terrorist" act. Since then, we have given up our rights, are going broke, and lost twice as many soldiers in a foriegn land. Have we got Bin Laden? Eliminated terrorism? Stopped people from hating us? Nope. We just have the stupidist people in the world selling our country and passing ridiculous laws. Ever heard of the "food safety act"?
God help us.
MF4
The non-standard options are that way because since the reverse split, they only represent 16.66 shares, rather than the 100 shares a contract usually represents.
This is because those options were created pre-split.
MF4
It kind of looks like the low swing completed today. We'll see if she pops on Monday.
MF4
OK, I didn't sell at .06 - memory is a little hazy.
in october, I bought 500 at .078
December 14th, I bought 4,500 @ .067
December 31st, I bought 5,000 @ .03
January 10, I sold 10,000 @ .04
It totalled about -$100
I keep it small because it's a penny stock.
MF4
So, what are the supporters of this stock using to justify continued investment here? I'm not bashing, I'm genuinely curious.
The stock is so cheap that IF there is a legitimate chance they can produce something, there's a good chance for a nice payout. Now, even if the prospects are good, I probably wouldn't risk more than $200 on a gamble. But, it would be really easy to quadruple that on something good.
So all you supporters, make your case. Why would I want to get in here at .015?
TIA,
MF4
The first investors in this company thought $1.00 was a good entry point. That was only two years ago.
MF4
If you buy an option, you are never "on the hook" to buy the stock at a premium. An option is simply a "right" to buy the stock at the strike price of the option. If you have $2 ESLR call options, you would never be forced to buy ESLR for $2, if the stock was trading for less.
They would simply be pieces of paper sitting in your account, and after expiration day, they would be removed from your account holdings. You would simply lose the premium you paid for the option.
Options are automatically exercised the day after they expire ONLY if they are in the money. You can call your broker and tell him not to exercise if you choose also. But, yes ESLR options are illiquid.
