So he's guilty of conspiracy to defraud shareholders?
Well said. Agree 100%.
To ZW - Not only how did you you arrive at that figure, why did you post a lowball amount in a public forum? That's what puzzles me. That's why I asked if you announce your poker hand to the table.
Beyond the need for the attorneys that BA and GMC are working with to weigh in on whether individual shareholder letters to Judge Andrews would be helpful or not - keep in mind that pillskill's letter was copied in its entirety and posted by the court. If shareholders were to write letters that defamed Billy Carter, that could be actionable. As in, he could sue you. Tread lightly.
Agree 100% - check with BA and GMC2020 and have them check with the attorney before sending more letters. It may do more harm than good. Maybe the attorney will thinks it is a good idea, then we do it. We don't want to make their job harder.
Thanks for the information, SF, I'll take a look at it.
Do you have an active link to his letter?
I think so too - and the July 9 deadline is the "sword" hanging over their head - they have until then to sort it out. I don't know that, just how I read it.
That's what I thought was going on.
OK, but how do you REALLY feel about PCTL?????
They are supposed to release results of a test of a product that helps with recovery rates on under-producing oil wells.
It has nothing to do with UOIP or our lawsuit or legal action. ZW put the symbol up, check out their board on Ihub.
No, you're correct, my comment wasn't about ZW....or JBBB.
IIRC, today's the day that GMC is handing off to the attorneys.
We now have to wait.....as the old Norwegian farmer told me when I lived in Iowa, "Dese tings take time, yah".
SF, yes, he's annoying and I agree wants to be in on the negotiations....BA and GMC seem to have it covered, though. I hope. From this point, this is best left to knowledgeable legal pros.
Hopefully, our shares in UOIP will pay us all well.
My point exactly.
Second that. My father was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Viet Nam. RIP, Colonel.
I meant announce or show your cards to the table. You too, Jesusly....why announce/show your cards in a public forum that is likely being monitored?
Then why do it here?
Do you announce your cards to the table when you play poker?
If you are looking for a discussion, sorry. My point is that making statements on a public board about what we are willing to take per share or as a settlement is not to our advantage. Such opinions could be expressed on a non-public forum. What do you gain from doing it in public?
Agree 100% - I don't understand why ZW is lowballing the worth of the settlement or our share of the settlement. He only speaks for himself. I appreciate all his coverage of the trial but ZW, put a lid on it man.
Hi SF, thanks, it happens frequently.
Looks like UOIP is coming back to life!
Everyone relax. BA and GMC2020 are securing legal representation next week and it is warranted. There has been obvious suspicious and apparently self-serving actions taken by Mr. Carter and the only way to determine exactly what was done and what can be done to rectify those actions (if possible) is a review by competent counsel. Competent counsel would advise his or her clients to let them handle communication and negotiation so that opposing parties don't know the tactics and strategy of the counsel's actions.
So, maybe we cool our jets a bit. Whatever happened to the plan for us to get together after a settlement? Any current ideas as to where? Luckily, CV-19 restrictions have eased and it is now possible again.
jbbb - I think what he means is that Billy holds more shares than any other single shareholder. Take care, be well.
I believe that point has already been made several times.
Did the photo attachment look like a legit text from Carter?
Compression? WTF?
jbbb - proof of ownership of all of our shares is that they show up in our brokerage accounts. Can you prove your ownership?
Second that, including the wish for a good long weekend....('course, I'm retired so all weekends are long weekends....)
Excellent! I should have read your post first!
long term, the initial point to getting an attorney is to have them review the situation and decide what, if anything, should be done. Billy has done enough to raise suspicion - I'm old enough to know that when someone shows you who they are, that's what they are. You might wish them to be honorable, as you are, but that's not likely. A competent attorney needs to review what has been done so far and advise us and it sounds like GMC2020 is taking that action. I fully support it.
Thank you and kudos. There is simply too much on the line to trust someone who set up an alternate shell company, UOI!P (or whatever) to attempt an apparent end-run of shareholders in UOIP. Carter setting up that shell is all anyone needs to know.
I'm a small shareholder, 367,000 shares, but will gladly help out.
ZW - sounds good - but - what is sointrigued's role? Who is Greg? Part of the problem here is that many of us only have a partial picture of what's going down. You know what you're referring to, many don't.
Anyone counseling patience and trust that things MAY work out remember that tens of millions of $$ and in some cases, hundreds of millions of $$ for individual shareholders is involved. They would be foolish not to have competent legal representation at this point.
I'm small potatoes in terms of shares owned but will pay my share to help the committee secure representation. Trust in God but tie your camel (In Deo confide, sed allegum tuum camelleum).
Watching SBFM on my TDA account....just spiked up in volume and price
Agree with that....it seems Carter made commitments he wasn't authorized to make and he will have to cover those himself. This is only one of several reasons the committee should go forward with legal representation. Get out in front of it, don't wind up chasing Carter for funds.
Pardon my ignorance but what is a TA?
I'm a relatively small share holder but I agree with BA's thinking - Billy uses courts and lawyers to do business and this is business to him - he will likely be more responsive to an attorney than individual shareholders. The best (legal) defense is often a strong (legal) offense.
A relative is starting to manage her own investments and seems to have chosen M1 as her trading platform. I read up on it on Investopedia, seems OK but seems targeted toward beginning, small investors that want to buy fractional shares.
I believe that's correct.
I don't think we know yet.
Anyone ever hear of or use an online brokerage called M1?
