OT: Where is Steve Ballmer these days?
just hit me that Ballmer has been a no-show lately. No big deal
but I was just wonderin' what the deal is?
oh well....slow Saturday.
ho hum
CM...now all we need is a BIG STROKE OF LUCK
like what happened to MSFT back in the early 1980s.
ho hum.......
Bull & Orda....just a historical thought in passing
I don't think IBM will ever forget their HUMONGOUS mistake back in the 1980s in letting MSFT become the de facto OS standard when IBM felt rushed to get their IBM PC out to the market. Remember that history?
IBM was rolling out the famous "charlie chaplin" PC but they had not totally figured out the OS and they were facing a nightmarish time squeeze/deadline because they had publicly announced the rollout. So....they panicked and went to Bill Gates and told him he could own the OS on the PC......and that is how MSFT became MSFT. At the time, IBM thought it was the hardware that was going to be the moneymaker, not the software. So didn't think Gates was going to be a big player. BUT THEY JUST DIDN'T GET IT!!! It was the OS that was the real value added component in the PC and it was the software that was the driver and the recurring revenue generator. IBM was trapped in their old thinking of the 1960s and 1970s which dictated (a la the old mainframes) that it was the hardware that was the key product in the mix. WRONG DECISION and so IBM allowed MSFT to grow into the behemoth that it is today. It was essentially a huge stroke of LUCK that catapulted Gates into business stardom. And so it goes....
So anyway.....IBM will never forget the error and will not allow another upstart to grab the center stage if they have anything to do with it. This doesn't mean it can't happen. Look at Dell Computer....look at Symantec....look at Sun Microsystems. Alot of small companies CAN GROW AND PROSPER despite the IBMs and MSFTs out there trying to control the market. It gets harder to do every year because of the whole interoperability issue.
So......Wavesys must always remain nimble and adapt. Indeed their size is a key advantage in this respect. They have good people.....Lark Allen and Company. They have the right technology and they have accumulated the right connections in the industry.
We will have to be patient to see how this whole thing works out.
And so it goes....
rachel...that is a darn good post!
I agree with you 100%.
I will go a step further. Prior to the DELL agreement, we got
the STMicroelectronics tieup (via NTRU) and I think there is
substance to that BECAUSE it wasn't too long thereafter that
CB (Cartes de Bancaires) decided to give Wavesys another big
push. Something DEFINITELY going on there....
I think that TCG is catching on BIG TIME (well this is a no
brainer) and that these players are sensing that Wavesys is
going to be a long term player here and that they might as well
link up with Wavesys. Of course, it didn't hurt to have good
ole INTEL giving Wavesys the big nod of APPROVAL either!
MSFT will come along but the question is to what degree and
in what capacity.
MEANWHILE, i still think HOMELAND SECURITY is gonna be a BIG
WINNER for Wavesys. This is a different kettle of fish and the
players there are lining up nicely.
ho hum....
cmf...what's the point?
seems kinda mickey mouse to me.
strange.
rachel...With the DELL campaingn in gear there is no
way the PC world is gonna give up on this technology....with
or without MSFT.
MSFT just announced a HUGE interoperability initiative.
It is BRAVE NEW (Wavesys) WORLD!
p.s i like that last line, don't you?
gokitesurf. You are amazing.
wow...dude!
cmf are you telling me the selling is in 100 shr
lots? Or are they batched together? Must be batched because
otherwise that is expensive business.
rachel the public is growing weary of the patches.
indeed, it is fast becoming a rather morbid joke.
let's see what transpires.
Snackman. YUP!
and YUP again!
wavxmaster not really. Check it out.....
http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/quickchart/quickchart.asp?symb=wavx&sid=0&o_symb=wavx&f...
plus no stock splits.
Going forward i anticipate Wavesys chart to look like DELL'S
past decade chart. with splits!
IMHO.......
yaya....with Wavesys tech ID theft would be wiped out.
pure and simple.
ho hum.....
ramsey...without it longhorn will be a pathetic
looking steer.
imho......
OT: do ya think WAVX's chart will look like this
one day?
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=DELL&t=my
only time will tell.
ramsey...it better.
or DOA.
thnx
Does this breaking news have Wavesys impact?
http://news.com.com/House+approves+electronic+ID+cards/2100-1028_3-5571898.html
pls let us know.
thnx
rachelelise
longhorn better have alot of TCG/Wavesys aspects to it or it
is DOA.
imho.............
completely different? i don't think so
imho......
but go ahead and explain your reasoning anyway.
thanks
OT: Can anyone tell me why MSFT keeps trying to patch
up their security problems with software after software?
It should be fairly clear by now that the ONLY way to solve this
problem is to listen to WaveSys.
ho hum..........
wavxmaster that's funny! But it's TRUE!!!
Wavesys originated the whole concept with its "Trust at the
Edge" polemic.
Wavesys originated the TPM concept via its original 'digital
meter" because it got people thinking about hardware and how
hardware can make an end user more in control of what they are
doing and how they are doing and with whom they are doing when
they are on their PC.
Wavesys is the originator and driver behind all this TCG stuff.
And yet, we stay affixed in the backstages because we are
'small' and we want to remain agnostic.
Tough role to play but Wavesys is playing it well.
IMHO....
OT: MSFT keeps trying software for security. Read this
http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/business/article.adp?id=20050211011409990010
when will they ever learn?
ho hum.....
doma that is a great find.
where do you find this stuff? How do you gain access to it?
I feel at a distinct disadvantage here....if ya know what I
mean
wow!
gokite Great Stuff. I wonder when DELL will go
"public" with this stuff.
sheesh.....
wildman....MSFT bought Sybari before the IPO
was launched. Sybari Software was about to go PUBLIC via
an IPO.....and Softee bought it!
BURP!
This is borderline insane.
Scheier of COUNTERPANE has been sayin' for years that
software is useless when it comes to computer security..
U.S.E.L.E.S.S.!!!!
Especially when it comes to HOMELAND SECURITY!
sheesh.....
what's the point?
Lord knows what MSFT paid to buy Sybari!
and it is like pissin' down the toilet bowl.
and so it goes.
MSFT buys Sybari. Analyst says MORE TO COME NEXT WK!
http://aolpf5.marketwatch.com/news/story.asp?guid=%7B2B005CB8%2D0163%2D4654%2D819A%2D0BCEDF5BA7BB%7D...
analyst says 'more to come next week'!
What is going to hit the fan next week?
Looks like MSFT is takin' this security situation VERY VERY
SERIOUSLY!!!!!
Too bad Softee doesn't realize that software based solutions
aren't going to cut it.
awk what's the # 11 refer to?
PCKS#11 Drivers
is this standard #11 or something?
thanks
mymoneybgone...Great Post! You hit the nailhead
on the head! BAM!
I still stand by ARMP's revenue projections. Check it out.
thanks
wavxmaster Not only Tumbleweed but ORC is big too!
ORC is a big deal too. And then of course you have the TecSec
strategic partnership. The tech guru at TecSec is regarded as
a leader in the cryptography world.
Wavesys is so connected to the leaders in its socalled space
that it is AMAZING!
Just amazing............
Is Wavesys part of Indigo?
can anyone answer this?
thanks
wavxmaster...I agree.
Wavesys is all over the place. It is amazing.
Talk about juggling balls in the air.
How many balls are we talking about now?
Seems to me that we probably have about 30 balls in the air now!!!
and so it goes!
About Web Services. Read here the MSFT viewpoint:
http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/feb2005/tc2005028_4104_tc203.htm
Have everyone seen this? Sure sounds alot like Wavesys to me!
What about INDIGO?
OT: MSFT buys another security software outfit. Read here
http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/business/article.adp?id=20050208095309990020
Ho hum.....
Guess they are serious about taking on Symantec.
wavxmaster I think I have the answer.
ORC provides the 'backbone' to DigitalSignature (DST) and Verisign.
AND....ORC has signed a strategic partnership with Wavesys to
provide the technology to the public.
ORC is the ONLY digital certificate authority for the DOD....
i think.
so i guess Wavesys could have the bases covered.
Hope this helps....

CM If i may ask.............................................
who the heck are you?
You are one smart son of a gun.
I think you are way ahead of 99.999% of us on this board as to
where this whole thing is heading.
In a sense, I like that thought because I realize that you are
on the 'pro Wavesys' side of the fence.
And yet, it is a bit unsettling to sense someone (like you!)
who knows where this is all unfolding whilst I am hopelessly
tryin' to figure it out w/ such pathetic resources at my
disposal.
and so it goes........................
awk...thanks buddy. Good review. eom
CM Yes...i understand what you are sayin'.
But I had no idea at the depth of the connections.
Actually, when i saw the TecSec deal I realized the 'depth'
(because TecSec is up to its proverbial eyeballs in govt
connections), but you brought to my attention a whole differ-
ent "kettle of fish".
THIS IS HUGE!!!!
Now I understand a little better the DELL deal.
This makes sense to me. Michael Dell only makes 'commitments'
when he sees the proverbial writing on the wall. Now that I see
the reach of Wavesys's public sector connections....I
understand Dell's decision and how it all fits in.
Geeezzzzzz.....
this is CRAZY! How can we here on this little board see all of
this stuff going on and no one else has a clue?
BOY.....I love this.
THIS IS AMAZING!!! Thank you CM.....
you filled in alot of small empty spaces for me.
thanks buddy!!!
wow..
CM....Geeezussss!
Are you kidding me? If what you say is true (and I have no
reason to think otherwise), then Wavesys is something very very
UNIQUE!
I mean....i always knew that Wavesys had the RIGHT STUFF...but
what you are implying is a whole order of MAGNITUDE beyond my
wildest imagination.
Are you sure?
Shheeeshh....this is ALOT BIGGER THAN I THOUGHT!!!!
my gawd!
orda...pls explain more fully.
It sounds very positive but I have no idea what you are really
talking about.
Could you explain in more detail?
thanks.
awk ORC/Wavesys have announced a strategic partnership
see link:
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/050113/135049_2.html
ORC has NOT done this with any other company like Wavesys.
this is unique....IMHO
Wavesys is not a 'vendor'. Wavesys is working with ORC at the
technology level to make this DOD related function more robust.
I think this is very very significant.
what do u think?
thnx
